I’ve been reading soudam fics all night, and i am so down to roleplay it now. Danganronpa is still going strong, so i hope there’s some roleplayers left lurking!

I was thinking we could do a post despair plot, with class 77 living on jabberwock, finally free. Maybe it’s their first christmas after despair and they all want to make it special. Kazuichi never had a nice christmas, so he wants to make sure everything is special. And Gundham finds his excitement endearing and cute, so he can’t help but stick around him during the holiday season.

Kuzupeko! I don't really pay much attention to canon ships honestly, I love mixing and matching characters, but the one I like the most is definitely kuzupeko! I fucking love characters that are ride or die dedicated to each other.

Hhhh god every ship I ship is pretty much crack, but probably the one least likely to happen because it's a cross game ship is Gundham x Gonta. Love these two nerds, love their friendship. Now make them boyfriends. *Chef's kiss* perfect. I will ship Gundham with pretty much anyone honestly, he deserves as much love as possible.

Guilty pleasure

I don't feel any guilt over my ships, so I don't have any "guilty pleasure ships". I guess the closest one I have is like? Komaeda x Mikan?? I know a lot of people will tear your head off for shipping Komaeda with a woman but whatever, I like that pair

Not very privy on komahina and sondam. Not that there's anything wrong with these ships, I just think they're kinda overrated and boring. Naegami gives me rancid vibes but that's mostly because Byakuya gives me rancid vibes

Hello! Since it’s almost the end of Mermay, I thought I’d share this idea with you, especially since you’re the one who got me into Soudam and the idea of Merman!Kazuichi.

So, this is a Fantasy AU where Gundham gets accused of kidnapping his best friend, Princess Sonia. Despite pleas for his innocence, he is brought to sea and tossed overboard. As he goes under, he clutches a pendant that his mother gave him before she died, and as he loses consciousness, he could have sworn it started glowing…

When he wakes up, Gundham notices two things. One, he’s somehow breathing underwater and two, he is face to face with a handsome pink-haired merman. He introduces himself as Kazuichi Souda, the prince of a nearby merfolk kingdom, and claims that he would have brought Gundham back to shore if not for his transformation. Gundham ponders what he meant by that, but then he notices the tail replacing his legs! He would not be lying if he said that his transformation scared him. He briefly pondered the cause, but then decided that it was best not to question it. After all, it did end up saving his life.

Kazuichi then makes a deal with Gundham. He’ll take him to his kingdom and teach him how to live underwater if Gundham teaches him everything he knows about human culture. He had always been curious about humans and their machines, but he was only able to learn through shipwrecks before he saw Gundham go under and transform. This seemed reasonable enough, so an agreement is made.

It took a while to convince Kazuichi’s father (Gundham took note of the insulting language that the king used against his son), but Gundham became Kazuichi’s personal servant. After all, it was best if the two were in constant contact for their deal to work. Over the course of several months, the two get to know each other better through their cultural exchanges and Gundham comforting Kazuichi when his father beat him several times, the two fall in love. So, not only do they have to keep the secret of Gundham’s humanity, but also of their relationship.

Things come to a head when the forces of a witch named Junko break into the palace, injure the king, kidnap Kazuichi, and reveal Gundham’s secrets. The king has Gundham locked in the dungeon (if you couldn’t guess, he was not happy that his son was in love with a former human). Kazuichi’s friends (Hajime, Fuyuhiko, and Nagito) manage to break him out so that he could save his boyfriend.

Meanwhile, Kazuichi is tied to an altar in a cave on a beach. It turns out that Junko needed the heart of a merman for a spell that she’s working on, and she figured that not only was it more fun to do it herself, but she could also cause despair to a kingdom by killing their prince. Just as Junko is about to plunge a dagger into his chest, Gundham arrives to rescue him. It was a long fight, but with the aid of their friends, Gundham is able to kill Junko. As he is untying his boyfriend, Gundham notices a familiar-looking statue starting to glow.

The statue turns into Sonia, who was kidnapped and petrified by Junko to cause despair to her kingdom. She decided to frame Gundham for it to cause him despair in his final moments. Sonia notices the pendant around Gundham’s neck, the one that his mother gave him. She reveals that it’s a special magical artifact that saves the life of its wearer by turning them into a mythical creature (since Gundham almost drowned, he got turned into a merman). Unfortunately, it’s a one-time thing and the effects are permanent. Gundham is fine with this, though. After all, he found the love of his life underwater and does not want to be separated from him.

After escorting Sonia home, the lovers return to their underwater kingdom. The king died of his injuries while they were gone, so Kazuichi needs to take the throne. He chooses Gundham as his husband (it does take some convincing for their marriage to be allowed) and the two rule over the kingdom for many years to come.

So, yeah. If you couldn’t tell, this was inspired by many of your AUs that you posted on here. I know you don’t really do those anymore, but I really wanted to share this with you. You’re responsible for Soudam becoming my OTP for Danganronpa. So thanks for that. I hope you enjoyed this!

I love the prompt. Especially the beginning when imagining the horror Gundham must have felt when he was tossed overboard into the ocean for a crime he didn't commit. With the thought of him dying while whoever kidnapped Sonia is still out there. That is such good drama, even more if him getting dragged to the edge of the ship is the opening of a written/drawn version

But it must be such a weird adjustment for Gundham at first suddenly not having legs, but a fin. However he will master it so that he can spend some time with the handsome merman prince and be with him. At least until Kazuichi gets kidnapped as well and Gundham getting suspected to be behind it. However thankfully they find him in time, before Junko can kill him. Where they then also find Sonia, who is thankfully still fine



Yeah normally I don't share and react to submissions any more. However this was still a very pleasant surprise to get, because it's a great prompt, and I am always weak for mermaid stories. So thank you very much for sharing this with me ♥

Unpopular opinion: I much prefer Hajime x Souda to Souda x Gundham. I just feel like he and Hajime have much more chemistry together with all their bromance shenanigans, plus they're two of the most 'normal' kids on the island.

i was never really into soudam as a pairing tbh. I dont hate it, its just i never really felt potential outside of their (primarily one-sided) rivalry they had going on in DR2. 

plus bromance is the BEST trope, so hinasouda automatically wins by default compared to the two. 

 i dont feel too strongly abt it because a lot of dr protag x rest of the cast ships dont feel that special to me bc protags are specifically designed so almost everyone else has a crush on them no matter how ordinary their character is, but its still my favorite ship for kazuichi aside from nekomaru.

I've had a secondary art account tucked away for quite sometime now, and since I'm gathering a new audience (mostly fellow Linebeck stans), I've decided to shift art and ideas focusing on him to @rainbakku !!

This blog will probably undergo a hiatus - as I'm fixated on Linebeck to the CORE right now and I doubt that I can churn out any danganronpa content atm.

I'm taking a small break from DR, not leaving completely don't worry.

But... I've been harassed and kicked down so much that my comfort is just slowly turning into some... burden. Something I feel ashamed of rather than proud of. Something I feel guilty over when I don't want to feel guilty.

But I never like. Got into it into it until my pal Wiley and I started role-playing the two doing shenanigans and then we fell Hard.

So Soudam is decent. I can see why people disapprove cuz that stuff isn't their cup of tea which is 100% fine. But it was cute to me especially sharing it with a friend so. I love Soudam it holds a special place in my heart. 💛

oh my goodness.........KAZ MY BELOVED. i've spent well over 2 hours non stop writing all of this out lol help me😭 i love him so much, he is my favourite character of everything ever, so thank you very much for asking about him!! i hope this is enjoyable to read, and to anyone who doesn't like him all that much, maybe reading this will change your mind! :) <3<3<3

favourite thing about them: so many things, he is so so so special to me!!!! he also partially reminds me of myself, and i am very attached to him :) i love his character design (and i love that it's explained yknow? it's not like oh yeah he has naturally pink hair for no reason), i love his voice and speech patterns, i love how clingy he is, how realistically scared he is compared to some other characters considering he took part in a literal killing game, how smart he is, how 'normal' his talent is (it's a realistic talent idea for a school like hopes peak, its a normal talent someone could develop after years of working in their family's shop, and its academic so the school would want him yknow? like no offense to e.g. mondo, i love him but why would they want a biker gang leader in a school like that lol😭) anyway i'm already rambling and im only on the first question oops lol. final favourite thing to mention is his tiny braid. soooo cute n silly. and i love his earrings. and how one sleeve of his jumpsuit is cuffed higher than the other. okay no i need to stop rambling now

least favourite thing about them: i don't like how he's so often dismissed as just a comedy character or a pervert or whatever. i wish he'd been written in a little more depth so he could be given a chance by fans who automatically dislike him. i love him so much and i want everyone to experience the joy of loving him!!! he is a sweetheart inside i promise

favourite line: engines revving!!!!! ✊😛✊ lol i also like i'll bury you and your hamsters 6 feet under!!!! and general gundham insults they all make me giggle

brotp: literally EVERYONE omg, i love his friendship potentials with the whole sdr2 cast! buuut some i particularly enjoy are ibuki, fuyuhiko, akane and mahiru :) kaz and ibuki would be so SILLY together i love them, i wrote a pekobuki fic with her and kaz being bffs and it was so much fun to write! she would love to put his hair into fun styles and paint his nails :) fuyuhiko aaa i love them together (also love them as a ship) i like the idea of fuyu being the voice of reason between them, telling kaz off when he needs to and keeping him grounded in reality! akane would sooo be like a sister to him i love her, they would get into lots of mischief together, have food fights, wrestle in mud etc lol. then mahiru aww also so like a sister to him, but akane is more like a twin and mahiru more like a big sister :) mahiru would help him look after himself, help him comb chewing gum out of his hair if hiyoko sticks it in there lol etc. also love him and nekomaru as friends too and ughh i could literally list every character here with a specific headcanon for their dynamic

otp: i'm gonna have to say soudam!! i absolutely adore them, they're so sweet and i think about them all the time :) they could be so good for each other if they settled their differences. one of my favourite dynamics is that gundham has feelings for him but kaz is just too silly to notice lol. i've published 9 fics on ao3 so far, 4 of which are soudam, including a 5-chapter fic (i normally just write oneshots, and the only other future multi chapter fics i have basic mental plots for are also soudam lol so you can tell i love them) they are just so special to me :) some other kaz ships i enjoy are him with fuyuhiko(!!), hajime, and i also quite like him with nekomaru too! :) and my fave non sdr2 ship for him is leon, their ship name is bubblegum rock, isn't that just the cutest name ever?!

notp: if there's gonna be a notp it's gonna have to be sounia, i love them both dearly as characters but just not together. my interpretation of his crush on her is that he is gay, and uses her as a fake crush to hide his sexuality to avoid getting bullied, and his reasoning is that she's a very conventially attractive blonde PRINCESS, nobody would question him for having a crush on her, right?? hence why he finds her hobbies weird etc and doesn't show an interest other than "wow she's so hot" lol. i don't think he realises at ALL how uncomfortable he makes sonia, he's just glad that she doesn't like him so he doesn't have to actually be in a relationship (my 5 chapter soudam fic started with this idea by the way!) and i like to think that if she sat down with him and properly explained why it's not right, he'd cave in and come out and apologise a lot and cry :( also think his treatment of her is partly just, he doesn't understand social cues and social norms very well (me too kaz me too) so he just is doing his best to appear normal :'(

random headcanon: when he listens to music, he sings and dances around his room with a hairbrush!!! but he would be VERY embarrassed if anyone found out :) i have lots of silly little headcanons like this for him that im probably going to post one day! i just think about him 24/7 so i have lots of things like this to say

unpopular opinion: i've seen quite a few people headcanon him as having adhd before, but i personally see him closer to being autistic! not sure really why, i just do! :)

a song that you associate with them: even though he's my favourite character ever i still found this super tricky to answer, song questions don't come easily to me i guess. but! my favourite artist right now is poppy, so "immature couture" by poppy! she has lots of different genres of songs but this one is SO girly and camp and i think kazuichi would love it and secretly listen to it a lot and dance around his room with his hairbrush microphone :'))) here's a link to the song!

this was so FUN!!! ihad plans to write fanfic tonight but im glad i spent my time doing this bc it was so much fun, thank you for submitting him :D there's one more character in my inbox but it's midnight for me rn so i will either do it later tonight after a break or in the morning, if anyone else would like to submit a character for me to talk about that would be awesome!!

aaaa thank you so much!! I really adore soudam, they are so so special to me so I'm glad you've enjoyed my recent posts! I will probably rewatch the sdr2 play some time and take a billion more screenshots of just any time kaz and gundham are on screen lol, but ALSO, i have lots of half finished soudam drawings (and other dr drawings in general)(and more soudam fics on ao3, have 4 published rn) so stay tuned for those in the near future!! <3 also i want to redraw like all of my screenshots lol I hope I get around to it soon

this isnt anything too special but I wanted to at least get something out today for Kazuichi’s birthday. 

I’m too exhausted and warn out to actually make some decent content so I’ll provide this.

Kazuichi, despite all the clear flaws he has and all his wasted potential and the way he’s kinda swept under the rug by both canon and in the fandom, means a lot to me. Who knows when it started or why it did, who know’s when the fixation will go away. 

But Kazuichi means a lot to me. 

These characters that I focus so strongly on mean a lot to me. 

And I’m pretty sure it’s just because my fond memories I made with friends circling around them. I mean, that’s the reason I ship soudam. Is because of my friendship and how it was a comfort to us both to have the two interact and goof off. That’s why it’s special to me. 

They’re all a comfort to me and Kazuichi especially is because somewhere down the road I started relating to him a little too much, and I saw a lot of my own issues shine through in him whether it’s hints via canon or me accidentally projecting thru the way I write him. 

But, even though I get trampled for it and disappointed in other people’s interpretations and opinions, Kazuichi continues to be important to me and is a huge comfort. He helps me with a lot, especially with personal stuff regarding myself. 

I know the fandom doesn’t really like him, and it sucks there’s a corner that just fetishizes him along with Gundham; but my content and mindset was never and will never be like that. They’re so much more than that to me. 

I’m disappointed in myself that I couldn’t do anything spectacular for today. I just don’t have the energy. But I did want to say that Kazuichi means a lot to me. Idk how else to say it...

(Same universe as my last Komahina and Soudam submissions)

Fuyuhiko, to get away from the third wheeling to the super lovey couples of Soudam and Komahina, decides to return back to his family lands (Kaz’s father forced his family to keep him at court almost all year so that they don’t get uppity and try to overthrow him, but Kaz lets him come and go as he pleases) to visit his sister and spend some time in the land he’s going to rule over eventually.

Coincidentally (or not), he runs into an old woman on the road and, remembering all those stories about angels and fairies in disguise, shares some of the food he brought with him. She thanks him and gives him a small stone with a hole in the center, saying that it can help him see through illusions before leaving. Fuyu’s not quite sure what he’ll do with it, but he keeps it anyway.

When Fuyu arrives home from several years at court, he is welcomed back by his sister Natsumi, who lets him know that their parents are busy schmoozing with their local lords to see if any of them have kids worth marrying, and his childhood friend / new guard / crush Peko, who had become even lovelier since he last saw her (Peko wasn’t allowed at court, the old king was very paranoid about people who knew how to fight that weren’t under his command). Later, his parents let him know that they plan to host 3 balls over a week where he’ll meet the nearby nobility and their children and choose who he wants to marry at the end of the third ball (this was a compromise between arranged marriage and letting him choose).

Meanwhile, Peko, who has been in love with Fuyuhiko since childhood, desperately wants to be the one that he marries, but she knows that she has almost no chance as a foundling girl who the knights took in out of pity and the Kuzuryuu’s kept to use as a tool. That night, she goes to pray in the nearby shrine, asking for a way to marry Fuyuhiko, or to at least let him be happy if he marries someone else.

Hearing her plea, the mysterious old woman from earlier (it’s Chisa, btw) appears before her (and very quickly pleads for mercy as Peko was about to kill her), telling her that she has a way to fulfill her wish. On the night of each ball, she must go to the shrine and leave three drops of blood on the alter steps and pray, at which point she will receive suitable fancy ball clothing with special enchantments that made sure that no one would recognize her. The clothes don’t last though, as she has to change out by about 2 am or else the charm would begin to wear off.

Peko, though a bit skeptical knows when to not look a gift horse in the mouth, and follows her instructions for the first ball. She gets a gorgeous royal blue gown, meets Fuyuhiko as a young minor noble girl, and dances most of the night away, leaving Fuyuhiko with a promise that they would meet again at the next ball.

The next morning, Fuyuhiko is just gushing, but is really confused since he knows he loves Peko but the girl he met at the ball was so lovely that he’s confused about who he actually loves, much to Natsumi’s dismay, as she has to deal with his mooning until the next ball.

The second ball, Peko repeats the process, only in a emerald green dress, but before she leaves, Fuyuhiko tells her that he might be in love with her, but he doesn’t know, since he’s also in love with his childhood friend, who he’s loved for years but they can’t be married since his parents would go ballistic and disown him if he did.

The day after the second ball, Kazuichi, Hajime, Nagito, and Gundham all arrive from the capital, both to see how Fuyuhiko is doing and hopefully see the lucky person that he’d be getting hitched to. Now the pressure’s in overdrive for everyone at those balls, since the king himself would be paying witness to the wedding and everyone wants to be part of the couple whose wedding a king would attend.

That night, Peko performs the ritual for a final time and earns a crimson red ballgown and a golden mask (Like Sparkling Justice but classier). Unfortunately, the last night is a masquerade and every girl decided to go as Peko with different masks and hairstyles, so Fuyuhiko can’t find her, even to introduce her to his friends. 

Fuyuhiko gets an idea: he uses the stone he received from the old woman to find her and sees Peko as-is, putting two and two together and realizing that he had pretty much admitted his love to his crush in disguise and practically dies of embarrassment right then and there. But, there are decisions to be made and the time to make them is very soon.

So, after the dancing dies down and they settle down to dinner, Fuyuhiko makes his announcement declaring who he will marry. It’s Peko (of course), but he uses the fake name that she gave him the first night. Most of the suitors in attendance naturally get angry because most of them have never heard of this woman before. 

Someone gets so angry, in fact, that they throw a knife at Fuyuhiko’s head. Peko moves quickly and deflects the blade, but it just hits his right eye instead. After the knife thrower is arrested and Fuyu gets attention for his eye, the warding charm was fully worn off and Peko is fully ready to be dismissed from the household but, surprisingly, his parents actually give their blessing for the wedding. It was mostly to spite the spoiled brat who threw the knife and their even brattier noble parents, but it’s still a blessing nonetheless.

Peko asks Fuyuhiko if he stills wants to marry her, even after lying to him for several days and accidentally ruining his right eye, even after magic healing. Fuyuhiko tells her that he does, but only if she wants to. Peko tearfully says that she does and they share a heartfelt, romantic kiss (Hajime has already called best man at the wedding).

The happy couple soon wed, live together happily and rule their lands with a firm yet gentle hand for many years hence.
