A sincere knight who values decorum, he has been described as pure-hearted on occasion. Acting calmly without doubting or losing his temper at others, Percival known well for his patience – a trait that must have been necessary for some of his more bullheaded comrades. Percival is well-liked by children and animals that meet him for the first time, though said person is unaware of this fact. When he was alive, he used to stand in Camelot's garden in the morning sunlight, letting little birds rest on his shoulders and arms.

It is during battle that he shows a harsher side of himself, but this shift is seen only during battle. He frequently fusses over his juniors, especially those younger than him as he has a tendency to take on a more guardian, or to some, big brother-like role. This extends to his fellow Servants as well as the Master whom he wishes to look after with the same tenacity. A genuine soul, Percival values honesty, and as such, does not conceal his thoughts or opinions.

History:

Percival, the Holy Knight of the Dove, was a member of the Knights of the Round Table led by King Arthur, holding the 2nd Seat. There are many tales of Percival’s birth, though if asked about his home, he will casually state that he was raised in a forest by his mother. The details after that are not important – so he would say. What was, was that he came to prove himself worthy of becoming a Knight of the Round Table. Eventually, in time, he embarked on a quest to find the Holy Grail with Sir Galahad and Sir Bors, a quest recalled most fondly by him as he was able to bear witness to its miracle. Though there are many versions of this tale, this Percival came upon a version of the Holy Spear, Longinus, perhaps guided by fate to do so as if chosen by the spear itself to be wielded by him. Through his journey, he became an enemy to a sorcerer named Klingsor who too sought to use the Holy Spear, albeit for purposes less than pure. Attempting to bar Percival from continuing, he sent his servant, Kundry, to him in hopes that he would be bewitched, and though her kisses had the power to enthrall men with the same ease of a Siren’s song, it did not work on the Knight of the Dove.

Bearing Kundry no ill-will for her attempts at seduction, he was able to confront Klingsor, and through that battle with the assistance of the spear, claim his victory. Kundry disappeared never to be seen again, but her flowers bloomed around the throne of Klingsor’s fortress, the beauty of them remaining deep within Percival’s thoughts even as he left and eventually returned back to Camelot. What happens after all of this? What other tales are there for this knight? There are many, just as there are many for the others as well. In the end, however, he eventually fell with his beloved kingdom, dying with no regrets in his heart for he had given his all to both his king and to the place he called his home.

It is still strange, occupying the same space as Patroclus, but not unwanted. Achilles had, after all, spent the time since they parted on an excursion of grief, roaming the cosmos for any sign that he might find his lover again, so to be by his side now has not yet become comfortable. He'd only been here because they had spoken for long enough for the light to wane and the night to arrive, offered space to rest rather than trekking back to the Silvermane barracks where he had been put up by the captain.

He rises from sweat ridden sheets and pushes his hair off his face, rubbing palms against eyes as if it might ease the fitful pace of his heart. It's his penance, he knows, the consequences of his own actions, but it does not make it any easier to see his face in his sleep, to be reminded of all the terrible things he had done. The desecration and destruction that he had left in his wake, wishing the world would be left in ashes so he might feel comfortable standing upon it again.

"Did I wake you?" he asks, softly, his words only emphasising how drained he felt, the tone depleted of all lustre, more so than usual. Was I screaming? Is the question he wants to ask but refrains. Sometimes it is best to not know what words fell from his lips in his sleep. He's certain that some of them might undo the tentative repairs that have been made between them otherwise.

He drops his hands then, making himself move, if only to distract himself from what he had seen, even if all he desires to do is fall back into the sheets and bury himself away. A pace he starts up, counting each step in his head, only pausing when he sees the other holding the steaming cup out as an offering.

Thinking about the fact f.go gave Arju Pashupatastra as his np and he just casually uses it in whatever situation when in reality its one of the most powerful and destructive weapons in Mahabharata that can neutralize any other weapon in the universe and that can consume in half the time that takes to blink the entire universe with all its living beings, and that there’s lit no being that is incapable of being slain by it, (including Vishnu, Brahma, Lakshimi, etc) and that it is the most destructive and personal weapon of Shiva and that can even be discharged by the mind, by words, by the eyes or through a bow and- (BREATHES IN)

NOT TO MENTION- that its s o powerful that it is forbidden to use against lesser enemies or warriors, heck its so powerful that its advised to not even use it;; HECK!, arju didn’t even get to use it on the Kurukshetra war! (he just owned it) he prob didn’t use it bc if used against mortal enemies/lesser enemies the entire world would be destroyed which is why he might have refrained from using it?, (which i guess doesnt apply to f.go(?)) yet in f.go u can use it to blast books? Another thing to note is that in comparison to Karna’s Vasavi Shakti that can only be used once, Pashupatastra is said to be able to be used many more times, though again the power of it is so big u probably are better off with not using it and going for other weapons.

(Also sidetracking a lil, one thing I find curious is how Shiva (God of destruction and the og owner of Pashupatastra who then gave it to arju) is usually reckoned for his temper; and that despite his usually calm and composed self, he’s also known for his rage, which looking at arju; we all know of his usually calm and composed attitude yet how he also carries more than what is shown at first glance; like I know he received the weapon as a gift because Shiva got impressed by his skills and devotion that he approved of and that’s pretty much it, but i still find it fitting that it was given to him- as at least f.go wise i can see some sort of similarity in that regard in terms of personality)

(Also for more context, a narrative from Kisari Mohan Ganguli's translation of Mahabharat regarding the power of Pashupatastra):

O thou of mighty arms, that weapon is superior to the Brahma, the Narayana, the Aindra, the Agneya, and the Varuna weapons. Verily, it is capable of neutralising every other weapon in the universe. It was with that weapon that the illustrious Mahadeva had in days of yore, burnt and consumed in a moment the triple city of the Asuras. With the greatest ease, O Govinda, Mahadev, using that single arrow, achieved that feat. That weapon, shot by Mahadeva's arms, can, without doubt consume in half the time taken up by a twinkling of the eyes the entire universe with all its mobile and immobile creatures. In the universe there is no being including Brahma, Vishnu and the Goddess Lakshmi, Parvati, Sarasvati that are incapable of being slain by that weapon.

NOTE : Although her outer personality might feel familiar to how she’s been portrayed in f.ate, as I tend to follow canon (to some extext) do note that some things might diverge from what you might believe Nero stands for/ is to you, as my portrayal of Nero will not be compromised to only one source and I ask you to please do not tell me how to write my character, but will instead be my mix of all the media i’ve been able to read across the years, be it the various different games where she’s appeared + historical context + other interpretations of Nero that have appeared be it based on movies, books, etc.

NOTE : Nero is a character who is naturally drawn to beautiful things and beautiful people; my Nero might grow interested in a character she may consider as ‘beautiful’ in her eyes yet this does not mean I am attempting to force a ship ! nor does it mean that she is genuinely in love with said character (unless it did eventually develop into a romantic kind of love). It is simply the nature of her character, as a lot of times it tend to be more of ‘deep admiration’ paired with a romantic outlook on life despite the tragedies it holds (again, traits that are part of her and her story) than romance as in being in love (unless again, it happened to develop into something else) ships will require development just like any other kind of relationship !

1. When you RP a ship do you prefer to make everything be smooth sailing all the time or do you allow conflicts to arise?

Hoo boy, tricky question. I prefer a bit of both: allowing conflicts to arise, & letting the ship sail depending on the source material that I am writing. If it’s TOO MUCH conflict, the ship becomes abusive (which is... something I try to avoid because I am not here to write Ciel handholding with someone else) or, if it’s TOO peaceful, it becomes boring. 

So balance is keyy~!

2. Do you like to RP smut when you RP a ship?

oh it depends on the ship & if I feel like it (which is rarer than f.go’s shitty rates). Two adults? Fine, & let’s talk stuff in private. Anyone who is a minor? No. Just no. Mostly for personal reasons. 

Yes, i like smutting when we have a ( adult / of age ) ship going on. It makes it better for me in terms of writing.

"Vengeance has never equated to peace, you fool..." There is something sombre in the King's tone as he speaks, crimson hues focused on the distance before lids descend once with a sigh and he refocuses upon the one he has taken under his wing. The one who became his son, his legacy.

"Rejoice in the fact they have not the air to breath that will allow you to be wronged anew. Then find harbour here where Uruk lives on to seek your peace." It is not offered in comfort but practicality. Let me be your strength while you find yourself again, an offer he has made repeated times and will continue to though this one lies closer to the underlying emotion between the two of them as opposed to the audacious nature of the King himself.
