Festivals You Must Go To In South Korea

1. Jeju Fire Festival

Jeju Fire Festival is a cultural festival related to Jeju’s livestock care culture. This festival is held during every March at the Saebyeoloreum Volcanic Cone. The night sky during the festival will be lightened up with red. Special events during the festival include media facade show, torch march, fire shows as well as food trucks.

2. Jinju Lantern Festival

This festival originated from the floating lanterns that were used during the Jinjuseong Fortress Battle of the Imjin War. It was a military strategy to prevent the Japanese troops from wading the Namgang River. This is one of the most famous lantern festivals in Korea held every October.

3. Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival

This festival take place in Hwacheongun in Gwangwondo. The main event of the festival is ice fishing which take place on the frozen Hwacheon stream. There are actually various kinds of programs during the festival such as ice sledding and bobsled. Visitors can also taste the freshly caught trout grilled on the spot.

4. Boryeong Mud Festival

This festival was created in the 90′s to advertise Boryeong’s mud-based products that are mostly sold for cosmetics purpose. But this festivals has already grown to be one of the biggest festivals in Korea. It takes place on Daecheon Beach and is always open for 2 weeks during July.

5. Busan Fireworks Festivals

The Busan Firework Festival takes place along the Gwanggalli Beach every autumn. The festival consists of various programs such as culture events, high-tech laser, light shows, and myriad of unique and beautiful fireworks. This festival always draw over a million of crowds every year be it locals or foreigners.

6. Jinhae Cherry Blossom Festival

This festival is the most famous cherry blossom festival in South Korea with thousands of cherry trees blooming in the city. It started as a memorial service to Honor Yi Sun Sin, a famous naval Admiral in South Korea. The festivals lasts for 10 days and has different events everyday.

7. Seongsan Sunrise Festival

The Seongsan Sunrise festival was launched back in the year of 1994, held on top of Jeju Island’s Seongsan Ilchulbong. It is one of the famous sites to view sunrise on Jeju Island. It always attracts large crowds of tourist throughout the year and is especially busy on New Year’s Eve.

It’s fucking happening everyone. I’m going to Korea and Japan by myself 😱

I figured I’m 30 let’s finish my bucket list. I didn’t expect to lose my job a week after I made unrefundable Tokyo Disneyland hotel tickets. But it’s happening!!! I don’t know what to do with my life afterwards. What else is there that is obtainable for me? I have no idea. I never would have thought when I left my abusive relationship 10 years ago I would be going to Japan one day. In the event that made me leave was he was holding onto my arms telling me I’d never be able to live on my own or go to Disney World by myself because of my mental health that I should be happier with him in the woods working part time.

Been living by myself forever and now I’m going to Korea and Japan by myself fucking suck it. I’m still shit scared I didn’t plan anything really. But I’m going.

Bucket list:

✅move to Disney World

✅have a Disney and Universal annual pass

✅go to live like Harry Potter (England and Scotland)

✅see bts in concert without panic attack

✅go to Disneyland California

✅go to Korea

(Pending)go to Japan

Where do I go from here? Hopefully getting a job. Then? The moon? Anyways don’t let anyone including yourself hold you back.
