i feel like i see ppl mischaracterise mariana a lot too but then i also don’t feel like i know his character well enough to articulate in what way lol
like i read. a lot of slimeriana fics. and in some of them his behaviour just feels ? off ? from what i expect it to be but idk how LOL

Ok I'm hearing the dub of episode 4 dropped the fucking ball on the orc voice acting what the fuck did they do
#dungeon meshi#I've only seen the sub and the spanish dub and they were like. normal to me? with the difference being yknow a more rough and gravelly voice#but even some other orcs sounded more normal so it was just a zon thing#maybe its possible i didnt pick up on weirdness since 1. im not familiar with japanese at all#or 2. while i can understand spanish things can fly over my head if they decided to do some. weird shit.#i think I might've noticed one thing in the english subs with like..some word choices like uhhh i cant remember anything specific#i just remember one subtitle line being kinda off but didnt think much of it#i will rewatch in english when i get out of bed. eventually its so cold.

The worst fucking part about being part of a musician's fandom is seeing SO MANY FUCKING "fanmade Ai songs"
And everyone was praising the song and they were like "omg people saying you shouldn't like it bc it's ai don't understand that the ai didn't write the song, this person produced it but just used the voice"
LIKE BRO THAT'S WHY VOCALOID HAS BEEN A THING FOR THIS LONG!!! PEOPLE WHO GET PAID FOR THAT!!! The problem is not whether or not the ai or a person WROTE the song, the problem is that the producer is using the "ai voice" if someone who did NOT consent to their voice being used like this, and just because YOU are using it for something "innocent" doesn't mean that using ai voice stuff and therefore bringing up the demand and making the ai better won't end up in causing trouble!!!
Just!!! I couldn't, I normally would've gone through each comment blocking the people I found annoying but I just blocked the poster and moved on, I fucking can't man.

what I need to know about the re4 remake is whether they're keeping the dialogue that gave the original so much personality. will it be corny and clunky. will Leon be jaded and kind of a jackass and absolutely full of shitty one liners to be fired off at friends and foes alike. WILL they reuse the audio files of Ashley screaming her head off. will all scenes between Leon and Krauser feel vaguely like you, the gamer, should look away to give them some privacy. will the shopkeeper tell me he's got some rare things on sale, stranger. all of this is as important to me as the gameplay
#just saying i heard the shopkeeper's voice in the trailer and realized only then that he won't have the same va#at least it didn't sound like the va and it threw me for a LOOP#the original is so stupid and funny and i do NOT want the remake to abandon all of that#i'd say something about palpable tension between leon and ada but i do actually think capcom will be all over that#re4#re4 remake#resi#bro y'all remember 'the las plagas virus' right#they can retain that vibe without butchering all spanish in the game

#what with all this talk of colonisation and whose land what is it does make me wonder about what the bigger voices in these convos would#have to say about my country. like im genuinely curious bc idk how to categorise us at all. context bc i dont expect anyone to know:#the indigenous people of the land i live on were the arawaks & lucayans. however when this land was first colonised they were all genocided#and who are now known as 'bahamians' were brought over on ships. and then somehow we went from the spanish to the english who colonised us#as well. now my worry is purely hypothetical bc we are an independent and sovereign state right so there's no 'threat'#but would we be considered 'indigenous' ? i can't think we would??#but maybe my issue is that i'm looking at this philosophically rather than politically. cause politically we probably would#but while the us-israel-colonisation convo is a political one the stances are philosophical so ??#like (again. hypothetically) if the same thing were to happen here ig i just wonder how we would be dealt with#and then the land ownership convo as well baffles me & it has for a while. since at least 2020 when the whole 'cottagecore is bad' convo#took place with the arguments that the aesthetic romanticised stolen land and i wondered even then like ? are we in the same position??#is the land still considered stolen if the people inhabiting it were displaced themselves?? and didn't steal it??#and moreover if the people it was stolen from no longer exist to take it back?? man idk#im stunningly bad at articulating my own thoughts so if this was a mess im sorry and thanks for making it this far#and also pls tell me if this comes off in the same light as americans making this about their election. i really dont want it to. im just#thinking. i guess idk#stop talking abbie

Sitting here and listening to all the languages/accents around me, and I just remembered that post about how American accents belong in the tv.
Spain Spanish speakers feel that way to me. Why does your Spanish sound like that. Get back in the television. What the heck.
#oh man yesterday we happened to eat dinner next to a group playing d&d#and it was sooo delightful because literally everyone had a different natural accent#we were laughing because it’s like - no one needs to do voices#our favorite was the older gentleman with the Scottish accent#BEAUTIFUL.#anyway working on a campus for an international collaboration is very fun#loving the vibe#struggling tho because despite speaking both Spanish and Italian - French is still totally incomprehensible to me#written I can kinda figure out but spoken is just… nothing#goes over my head completely#makes me feel like a stupid American and I have to remind myself that when I lived in Italy people literally thought I was local#(apparently I look Italian enough (I am not Italian))#(I’ve also lost most of it since but I was completely conversational at the time)#so anyway >-< doing my best#and its okay to not know all the languages
