Today is my Speak Now tour anniversary! On this day 9 years ago, I went to my first Taylor concert! My friend Caroline and i went together. We got there really early so we sat in the car listening to the album and eating cheddar&sourcream ruffles chips 😂 we didn't have great seats (it was in arrowhead stadium) but I could see over the people in front of me and that's all I ask for. I remember very vividly Taylor wearing her purple dress on the B stage where she played a ukulele version of fearless. I also vividly remember Haunted with the aerialists and gigantic bells. I got a tour shirt which I've now had for 9 years and it's still going strong. Around this time was when Abigail went to our school (KU) and Taylor mentioned it ("my best friend goes to school around here...") during one of her speeches and we freaked out. The concert was so awesome and I can't wait until I get to see Taylor live again!

11 years a Swiftie

@taylorswift we’ve never met (I still have hope) but I wanted you to know who you’ve been following on Tumblr for 4 years. I know you have so many posts to sift through every time you log on, but if you took the time to read this it would mean the world to me. I’ve loved all your music for so long, but the album that really made a difference for me was Speak Now. It came at such a pivotal point in my life, and I can’t thank you enough for pulling me out of such a rough place with your music and your words. 

Speak Now was the first of your tours I was able to go to. I had just gotten my very first job right before the tickets went on sale, and I couldn’t afford to get them when they were available. But in a stroke of luck, I got an email from Ticketmaster about a week before the show saying additional seats opened up for the New Orleans stop. Girl, if I didn’t lose my damn mind in that moment. I scooped up one ticket and I went to that show by myself and rocked out the whole time. I remember during Sparks Fly you were about 10 feet away from me at one point. Speak Now was such an amazing tour from the set list, to the stage production, to the choreography. It was EVERYTHING. And I will never forget that that was the first real concert I’d ever been to.

The next time I saw you was for the Red Tour, and I was able to take my best friend this time around. We were so excited. We planned our outfits, and we drove to Dallas to see you. We had the best time dancing through the whole show, and my friend was a huge Ed Sheeran fan as well, so it was really like a 2 for 1 deal seeing you both in one day. I remember crying during All Too Well, and being interviewed by some people with cameras asking about my outfit (cause as you can see, I went a little overboard). We danced the whole time, and were so in awe again of the stage production and choreography. I don’t care what anyone says, RED DESERVED A DAMN GRAMMY OK?!

1989 was our next stop on the Taylor Swift tour journey. I went with my bestie again to the Baton Rouge show, and we decided to dress as foxes because of our mutual love of “I Know Places”. I remember just a few days before this show, you followed me on here, and I swear I couldn’t breathe.  I felt like there was a chance you might know who we were! I remember posting this picture on Tumblr before the show and the other Swifties were so supportive and reblogging us like crazy. It was amazing. That night, we met your mom, and she told us we looked cute and gushed over how good our seats were! We hugged her and when she left I cried. My friend had to keep me in check lol. It was such an amazing night. As 1989 was one of my absolute favorite albums of yours, we lost our shit at every song. It was one of the most magical nights ever.

Next up is Rep Tour! Taylor, I’m gonna give it to you straight here, I TRAVELED OVER 5,000 MILES, ALL THE WAY FROM GERMANY, TO SEE YOU IN NEW ORLEANS. AND I DON’T REGRET IT ONE BIT. One of my closest friends came with me this time. We had our snake print tank tops on and we felt like the baddest bitches in all the land. And once again, you did not disappoint. THE PYROTECHNICS. ARE YOU JOKING?! I Did Something Bad blew my mind. I heard all my faves. I gushed over King of My Heart and Getaway Car. It was truly an unforgettable night.

Taylor, thank you for putting so much thought into your shows, and for reaching out and interacting with us online. You are truly the most generous and thoughtful person I’ve ever heard of. I don’t know what my life would be like without your music. I don’t really stan any other celebrity so much that I save all my dollars every time they go on tour. I guess its because I know you will always pull out all the stops and really make it a magical experience for us. I hope one day I can meet you and tell you how much I love you to your face, and hug you and thank you for everything you do. I can’t wait to see what else you have in store for us this era! I promise, I will be there watching when tour comes around :)
