Some interesting bits from Nico's interview on the All-In Podcast, talking about what traits indicate potential to be a good F1 driver:

I think there are a couple of things that would satisfy that, and one is your speed of processing. Because in a racecar, you're going at 220 mile an hour, and you have so many inputs flying at you. And not only visual, also sensual, yeah, everything, and also sound with the engine and everything. And you have to process that so rapidly. How did you train for that? I even had a computer program, which I developed just for myself actually, where I would have all these different inputs: so audio, touch, tactile—I had like a thing around here—and even then visual on the computer. And I would be catching these inputs, like trying to break my record, and the faster I would go, the faster the program would go. So I was trying to develop these kind of things to train my brain to move faster and react quicker. So reaction time is the key skillset of a driver? It's one of the ones. Is there also also being courageous and like something with your amygdala, where you don't have fear? There's that, certainly, yeah. Although I would say that I am actually someone who is quite fearful. Um, and but when you're in it you kind of get used to things, and you start to feel quite safe in the car nowadays. Because I'm not a crazy adrenaline junkie, unlike most other drivers actually out there. Like someone like— Are they? You find that they are adrenaline junkies? Yeah. Like, someone like Verstappen is fearless. Like completely. Or even Hamilton. They're proper...quite nutcases.

Right so here's where we are. I have two options:

speed-finish after I sleep, rush the editing, post the chapter on Saturday instead this week, and then have less than a week to prepare next Friday's chapter

finish after I sleep, but instead of posting it Saturday I just skip this week and queue it to post Friday the 17th, giving me almost two weeks to work on the chapter after that

And I'm pretty tired of not being able to post fresh chapters, but I'm even more tired of feeling like I'm playing catch-up every single week since October. It should not be physically possible for me to be falling behind on posting when I've written 15 chapters ahead of what I'm posting, and yet here we are. My workflow is a-shambles, my friends.

So I'm going with option 2. I'm finishing the chapter, queueing for the 17th, I'll post a fun art or something this weekend to make up for it, and then—god willing, knock on wood—I'll hopefully be on top of things again.

This is an outfit swap between different Minish Cap(and a bit of Four Swords) Links from different Links Meet AUs. Under the cut is an explanation of who got whose clothes, and also the flat colors and drafts of this piece. Bonus.

you have one of the coolest art styles ive seen, and i especially like the colorful textured overlays. how do you get those?

Thank you!!! I’m hoping to get a screen recorder app to properly show the process. But basically the program I use is Paint Tool Sai 2, and this program comes with pre-existing textures! (Havnt figured out how to add more). I layer textures onto each other altering colors each time, until I have a mesh of textures and colors I’m happy with. I usually alter the color as a whole afterwards or even stretch and spin the layer around to get something I’m happy with!

Newer Discovery: The Lightning Bolt Nebula

In the immediate vicinity of the very bright star Alpha Centauri A or Rigel Kentaurus is a VERY large filamentary Oiii/Ha nebula. This is likely to be a very large supernova remnant, but in regards to whether or not it is a novel one is impossible to say. This area of the sky is a literal minefield of radio SNRs that have been known about for some time, so we cannot say which it belongs to for now.

Code Doodle

I saw a Nintendo DS design and thought why not try and recreate! I was bored last night and I didn't want to work on anything big (one of those days) so I essentially did a code doodle trying to recreate it!

Plus, I like doing this because it's a test for my eyes - definitely so because it's a picture and I can't cheat and look in Dev Tools to get the padding, margin, etc correct! (I did cheat by colour-picking the colours from the image...)!

I'll see if I can finish it later tonight~!
