A wonderful positive article on the Men's Free Skate at Worlds 2024 by Florentina Tone from insideskating
Here is the part about Shoma with pictires by Alberto Ponti
When the first seconds of music pour over him and he starts skating, is it as if Shoma Uno enters a trance – and we follow him no questions asked.
We just go with him, and his skating takes us to beautiful places.
It is always the case with Shoma’s free skate this season – to “Timelapse” and “Spiegel im Spiegel” – maybe the best he’s ever had. A program that shines a light on him, a soft, translucent light that goes so well with his expression, with the almost silence his blades glide across the ice.
And even if some of the jumping passes don’t work for Shoma on the day (and they don’t), and even those jumping passes are at the start or in the middle of the program, nothing derails the two-time World champion: Shoma Uno has a story to tell, he has a spell to cast on everyone watching.
Exactly how he wanted it to be.
“I put my heart into this free program – aimed to make everyone watching me perform happy – and this is the result I got. It truly reflects who I am, regardless of how I did today.
I visualized how I would do my free program beforehand and, looking back on everything, it was an exhilarating experience overall. Every day, I faced myself and practiced diligently, which instilled a sense of accomplishment within me. I am grateful for the cheers and the support from all spectators”.

Jorge Luis Borges

Y'all...Y'ALL-
Why is nobody talking abt this lanky ass man's LEGS????
He seems like the type to randomly bounce his thigh while you're sitting on his lap and then laugh like a maniac from your reaction 😭
Like y'all would be chilling in the Bebop while Edward and Ein go off and run somewhere as he sits on one of the yellow chairs and you come up and sit on his lap.
He takes this as his chance to tease you a bit and as you get comfortable, you look up at him as his big silly grin shows up on his face. '𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒅𝒐, 𝑺𝒑𝒊𝒌𝒆?"
And before you can react, he bounces his leg suddenly and looks at your flustered and shocked face as you we're blushing furiously. "𝙇𝙤𝙤𝙠𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙄 𝙜𝙤𝙩 𝙮𝙖, 𝙘𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙚~"
Now he's laughing hard as you hide your flushed face in his chest
LET'S BE HONEST WE'D ALL GET ON OUR KNEES FOR HIM-

To find a little positivity after worlds:
What is your favourite performance of Spiegel im Spiegel by Shoma?
I think my favorite would be NHK from the performance, he was genuinely happy about his skate, which made the scoring this much more tragic. Anyway without thinking about the scores it's NHK. ☺️
Also never forget that Yuma even after he won over Shoma said that he looks up to Shoma, right when Shoma sat next to him. 🥰🥰🥰
Also actually I am not that sad about Worlds anymore. I also don't have negative feelings towards it. Yes it was not what I wanted. Yes I hate the result bc I can't like a podium without Shoma on it, but it wasn't unfair, so objectively I know the result is ok. Yes right at the moment it was hard and I cried so much like just at IdF19 but I think what made me most sad was the perspective of a possible retirement with this as the final skate. And I thought of Yuzu and his last skates and emotions just got too much. Now I'm fine, just a bit sad it's over 🥲

spike spiegel wants to die soooooooo bad but fate keeps saying NO you are going to LIVE you are going to carry your burdens WITH YOU you are going to learn how to keep walking even when all you want to do is find a ditch to die in. you are going to learn how to care about people again, holding your bloody broken heart inside of your gaping chest with your own two hands. and spike spiegel says nooooooo and once again tries to throw himself at the nearest dangerous person in the hopes that this one will finally kill him

«La melancolía es una manera, por tanto, de tener; es la manera de tener no teniendo, de poseer las cosas por el palpitar del tiempo, por su envoltura temporal. Algo así como una posesión de su esencia, puesto que tenemos de ellas lo que nos falta, o sea lo que ellas son estrictamente».
