the way dean tried to defend cas. the way you could tell cas was in pain lying to dean. how torn dean was when cas betrayed him. how cas had ended up betraying him because he had been trying to let him live his nonhunter life and not bring him into his problems. how torn cas was when dean learned he betrayed him. how cas would do anything to protect him.
when someone asks me “what's your favorite spn episode?” and i say “the man who would be king” they're like “okay” like hello??? do you even fucking understand what i just said? can you even comprehend the gravity of its meaning that 6x20 is my favorite supernatural episode? do you understand???
STOP STOP whoever said cas teaming up with Crowley and the fallout only made sense if dean saw it as an affair ?? So unbelievably correct. they had "me and Mrs. Jones" playing I'm the background when cas is talking to Crowley

i was rewatching the man who would be king (6x20) for the fortieth time and i have concluded that, in a combo of harry potter and x coded y girl terms, castiel is a hufflepuff coded gryffindor girl.
At first, until the recent few episodes I watched (starting s6e20 rn) I could tell there were pretty clear signs that Cas had... feelings ... for Dean, even aside from normal shipping things. This isn't to say I think the writers wrote it like that, duh, but it came of as it for sure.
But I wasn't sure about Dean. I've heard people say Destiel isn't canon, it's just Cas liking dean, there's never proof or hints that Dean would like him back. And it seemed that way.
BUT. Recently, its seeming more and more like Dean also thinks of Cas as more than just an angel who's useful, in a way Sam or Bobby don't. I wouldn't say he likes him now romantically, at most an 'i feel sad every time he leaves' type thing, but I can see it leading there from how it's going now.
Some things that made me think that were the moment when Bobby suggests that Cas could be hiding something from them/working behind their backs, and Sam starts to agree, but Dean gets defensive and says there's no way and that Cas is their friend and has done a lot for them. Also, in the car when he's alone with Cas he asks Cas if he'd tell them if he needed their help or if he was in trouble. ("cas you'll call right?... if you get in to real trouble?) There were a few other smaller moments where I thought he was acting closer to Cas than the others/more than usual. (one of them was in the phoenix episode when Cas's lieutenant got mad at them saying they were only using Cas when they needed him and Dean looked worried/upset/like he was thinking about it and felt bad, which doesn't imply romance but it shows how they've def become more than just allies this season)
I just finished s6e20 the man who would be king where cas is telling his side as to why he’s working with Crowley and I’m low key broken
The absolute faith has in cas to protect them, to tell them the truth, the trust he has in cas to be Good is astounding—even when his brother and the man who is a better father to him than John ever was were telling him otherwise, dean still believes in cas.
Cas watching dean defend his honour breaks him, this is the man he gave everything for, and at the end of the day is still fighting to protect the world BECAUSE of his love for dean. This is the man who he must lie to in order to save from apocalypse, and it’s tearing him up inside to see the love in dean’s eyes
When everything is revealed, even in that split second when dean realizes cas had been spying on them, his heart shatters. His heart had been slowly breaking as his family turned against cas, and even when confronted with the evidence of Cas’s lies, he still wants to believe the angel who’s loved him.
Dean’s first instinct when cas appears alone to dean isn’t to banish him. It’s to say he loves him, in his own familiar way— the only love he’s ever truly known is familiar— it’s to say he’s one of the closest people in the word to him. It’s to say cas shouldn’t do this because he loves him.
Both of their hearts are breaking as they try to save each other from damnation
It's Destiel heavy. Dean who is the only one staying faithfull to Cas and Cas who feel so guilty for lying to Dean. The angst! It's like a freaking fanfiction ! Except when Dean say to Cas that he's like a brother... Wrong term Dean, what you mean is love of your life.
Misha and Jensen are amazing in this episode, they totally broke my heart.
