I finished my rewatch/relisten of the Vox Machina campaign in mid-December (although I recently re-embarked on the second half of the Chroma Conclave arc hoping season 3 of TLVOM will be announced (released?? 🤞) by the time I reach "A Bard's Lament"). Predictably, I bawled, AGAIN, but by then I'd already been scribbling and sketching ideas for this for... a couple of weeks? Hence the little WIP preview last month.
I'll never shut up about this moment. It's just as beautiful as it's heartbreaking, in- and off-game, especially taking into account all the context of characters/people involved.
Also, bonus, because after I finished sketching that 6th frame I thought a hug was needed.
"You broke my heart." and all of ours as well 💔
(edit: added image descriptions. I apologise for not thinking to do it sooner!)
From the Cooldown for Campaign 3 episode 104 'The Cradle's Convocation': Possibility for the cast to play as Vox Machina and Mighty Nein in episodes of Campaign 3.
where's that one post somebody made a million years ago about how vax and vex in syngorn would have been surrounded by elves accustomed to 20-hour days. but as half-elves they can't trance and would have had to get 8 hours of sleep, thus limiting their productivity compared to their peers. and making them look worse or lesser by comparison to their dad who already hated them. cause that post fucked me up a little. i'm still haunted by that.
so my initial theory regarding how they’d handle the hell arc in tlovm was that they’d combine it with the quest for the dawnmartyr’s plate (bc they both involved a contract to kill a pit fiend and also hotis isn’t a thing in the show)
but upon the trailer i don’t think that’s the reason they go to hell
note the whitestoney design on the casket here, this is percy’s casket
NOTICE THE DISTINCT LACK OF PERCY IN ANY OF THE SHOTS SET IN HELL (especially since percy was such a lead in that arc with his deal with ipkesh and all)
I THINK THEY’RE ON A MISSION TO RESCUE PERCY’S SOUL FROM THE FLAMES OF HELL POST GLINTSHORE
Matt: This might be a scenario where -- for certain simultaneous assaults on Ruidus -- you guys get to hop into Vox Machina for an episode and assault the Malleus Key, and in a different episode, assaulting the Weave Mind [as the Mighty Nein], all to support Bell's Hells.
