Lone Pine is a small town in New Mexico, near the border, built upon the blood and sweat of late 19th century gold miners. You will be an influencer coming to sign a contract with the trillion-dollar company, Forsythe-Newman Technology Management (FNTM), which is a household name and widely considered to distribute the best, most high-quality film making equipment on the market.

You take a plane to the Albuquerque International Sunport, and from there you head south on the Rail Runner Express, the state-wide railroad. You ride in the train car for several hours, watching the sprawling desert scenery rush past, and notice the presence of humans becoming dauntingly scarce. You disembark in Truth of Consequences, the home of the infamous Toybox Killer, and from there, your contracting company provides a car with a driver to take you the rest of the way down to Lone Pine.

The driver explains that you've been provided with housing, food, and brand-new production equipment in exchange for living in Lone Pine to produce content regarding the eerie paranormal activity reported there. They make extended and uncomfortable eye contact in the rear-view mirror, and when they stop to let you out, you hardly have time to take your bags from the car before the driver peels out and races back down the road from whence you came.

DnD Idea #6

Now that I'm in a campaign I don't have as much motivation to post these, but something came to me this afternoon that is too niche for anyone but Tumblr to appreciate, so here it is:

DnD in Night Vale.

Just think about it. You could have the usual classic races, and no one in Night Vale would bat an eye. Or you could use Night Vale races: five-headed dragon, transient, shapeshifter (though that one might be more of a class), fist-shaped river rock.

Classes would be taken from the classic DnD, but canted way far towards weird. Instead of rogue, you could be an agent of a vague yet menacing government agency. Instead of a fighter, Secret Police. Instead of monk, a member of Tamika Flynn's teenage militia.

Combat would involve things like librarians, tiny people from the city below the bowling alley and Arcade Fun Complex, Strangers, or even--though maybe only as a boss fight--Street Cleaners.

Clerics to the Woman From Italy, the Distant Prince, Huntocar, or That Beagle. Warlocks bound to the Faceless Old Woman Who Secretly Lives in Your Home, or to the City Council, or to Station Management.

Every session would have a fifteen-minute break for the weather, which always happens at precisely the same time even if it's in the middle of a crisis moment. Music plays during the break, entirely unrelated to what's happening (or is it??).

The DM would narrate everything with little editorial comments like Cecil would--sometimes profound, sometimes ridiculous.

I'm geeking out, y'all. Can we do this?

Gray clouds seem to be permanently sunken into the sky above Hackenwoods, Illinois, and they come with the feeling there's something rotting inside of you. Or maybe, something rotten.

No one visits here. In fact, I'm pretty sure no one wants to be here. Missing people posters litter the street posts in this small town of less than 6k, and if you're wrestling with the paranoia that something bad is going to happen, you're probably right. For some inexplicable reason, we just are here. And, for some even more inexplicable, insane reason, it's home.

REVIVAL is a 21+ semi-appless horror rpg based on discord. it focuses on the lives of canon horror characters (oc's allowed as victims) in an alternate universe mashup location (child's play, scream, anoes, and halloween) called Hackenwoods, Illinois.

Lone Pine University has long been known for its prestige. It's been mentioned in the same breath as Oxford University, the University of Tokyo, and Harvard University. But as of late last night, the Ivy League school now has a new blemish on its record: an eerie, cryptic set of grisly murders in the schools famed Biology Department.

Last night at around 2AM a student complained of the smell of smoke and went to investigate. What they found is enough to turn the stomach of even the most experienced of investigators.

Inside of the burned-up biology lab were the corpses of a tenured professor and his students. Each of them had been mutilated in a way that implies ritualistic torture. Roll.EXE (as a fairy), is walking through the dark and spooky forest at night to explore, despite being warned by the other fairies not to go outside at night, since scary creatures come out at nighttime.

As Roll.EXE explores, a pair of red eyes are watching her from their hiding spot. That is until it reveals themselves as a shadowy silhouette, who begins to follow Roll.

The shadowy silhouette (who is actually MegaMan.EXE as a vampire) decides to follow the fairy without her knowledge. What does he want to do with Roll? Eat her? Bite her? Or confess his love for her.
