These creatures, which I made in Maxis' 2008 game Spore, have the maximum stats obtainable using only the Early Creature Creator parts. The bottom one is the Oystawany and the top one is the Super Oystawany. That name comes from the game’s name generator.
For context, after the Cell Stage, which is the first of five stages in the game, you move onto the Creature Stage, but between those two stages, you get access to the Early Creature Creator. That has two tabs. One is three basic kinds of legs, while the other is all of the parts from the Cell Creator. If you enter it from completing the Cell Stage, you only have what you unlocked in the Cell Stage (there are six parts unlocked from default and six parts that have to be unlocked by either finding meteor bits or killing cells that have parts you don't).
I accessed the Early Creature Creator from the main menu, so I had all of the parts.
There is a Jet in the back. In the Cell Stage, that adds +2 speed (something all starting cells have adds only one speed, but it's constant, and another thing you have to unlock adds +1 speed but also has the ability to make you turn much faster, and it is between the other two in terms of how much you move). In the Creature Stage, the Jet gives you Level 1 Sprint.
To either side of the Jet is Flagella, which add that +1 speed that is always going in the Cell Stage. In the Creature Stage, they give you Level 1 Sneak. Those protrusions on the creature's back are Electric. In the Cell Stage, after enough time, they glow, and that means that any cell that gets too close gets an electric shock, which is an attack. In the Creature Stage, they give you Level 1 Charm. However, things that cost just as much but are only in the normal Creature Creator are better because some give Level 1 Charm and Level 1 to increased health while others give Level 2 Charm.
On the sides, below the Electric, there are Cilia. In the Cell Stage, they give you +1 speed and Fast Turns. In the Creature Stage, they give you Level 1 Jump. The spikes on the creature's head are literally called Spikes. In the Cell Stage, they give you a melee attack that hurts everything that touches them. In the Creature Stage, they give you Level 1 Charge.
The things on the creature's cheeks are called Poison. In the Cell Stage, they leave a trail of poison behind the cell, which cannot hurt your cell or other individuals of your cell species, but can kill cells that don't have the Poison part. I think there are only two cells that have it, and they are immune to your creature's poison. In the Creature Stage, they give you Level 1 Spit, which has a slight posion effect but serves as more of a ranged weapon.
The eyes are called Beady Eyes. They and the other two kinds of eyes are unlocked by default. I decided to use them because one of the others, the Button Eye, is creepy, while the other one, the Stalk Eye, doesn't always look right. In both the Cell Stage and the Creature Stage, they give you Sight, which makes the game much easier.
The mouth of the creature is called a Proboscis. In the Cell Stage, it is the only Omnivore mouth, but only two cells have it. That mouth makes you parasitic, as you suck nutrients from living cells or plants. In the Creature Stage, they give you Mating Call (like all mouths, to ensure you can change it later), Level 1 Bite (the most basic attack), and Level 1 Sing (the most basic social move).
I think that the legs I chose were called "Phatella" because of their shape. By that, I mean that, while the limbs all did the same thing, they had different shapes. Each limb in the game (arms and legs) come with a hand or foot, respectively, but it's a starter one that only adds the Graspers ability in the case of the hand and only adds Speed 1 in the case of the foot.
I didn't have enough DNA points (the currency of the Cell and Creature Stages) in the Early Creature Creator to add the legs there without cheating, so I made the top image in the regular Creature Creator using a pair of legs available in the Early Creature Creator. The image below depicts the legless creature.
The above creature is the first creature that Jobrare saw in her dream at the end of Chapter 2 of Not Just One. I made this and its legless version, the Oystawany, before I got the idea to use them in that story. This is an alpha to the three legless creatures it calls, as Jobrare suspected. Since they only show up in dreams and this isn't a story where dreams really matter, one could argue that they do not really show up in the story.

These are the ones I encountered on the save with my alpferds. The tartakoid (this might be translated and I don't know how it's called in the original language but i'm talking about the green one) holds a special place in my heart because it was my very first rogue! And it was useful even in tribal stage. The other ones in the picture are nosirożec and of course- BEAN (known as fasolowiec in Polish)

One of my favorite pieces of spore concept art, Willosaur variants by Christian Scheurer :)
Spore's concept art is super underappreciated. Definitely think more people should pick up the art books.

Spore Modding - What I've been doing: A limited-access prerelease!
This video showcases several unfinished mods by Allison Ghost / Valla-Chan for the game Spore.
All these mods will be released FOR FREE when they are finished, but I have also decided to put in-progress versions of these mods up on a Patron-connected section of my Discord server, which will be updated as I make changes. $6 Patrons are eligible to download any of these and try them out! The money goes towards allowing me to spend my time developing these mods.
Due to the in-progress nature of these mods, there are bound to be issues with them, but none should be game-breaking.
KEEP IN MIND: Creations made with the Parts Mods shown here may exhibit issues with newer versions of the mods as they are updated, which is why I am only hosting them in private pre-release until they are finished!
Afterwards, they will be released for free alongside my other mods; I have no intent to ever sell my finished mods. This may take a long time for some mods here, and a shorter time for ones being more actively worked on.
To learn more about the ongoing Spore mod prerelease for Patrons check out this post! https://www.patreon.com/posts/76535751
To download my fully released mods entirely for free, check out my Github page! https://github.com/Valla-Chan/Spore-Mods/releases My social medias: https://allisonghost.carrd.co/

This is the Deck Hawk. It was supposed to be a play on the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars, but I shortened “decade” into “deck”.
Yes, it’s a 1950s style flying saucer. That’s why its name in-game is 1950s Throwback.
In my story "Josephi's Savior", this is the design of the Deck Hawk that a Spesh Captain named Stitch owns. His pilot is a Spesh woman named Poppy and he has three more of his own species aboard. All are Spesh men and their names are Seymour, Hively, and Sharp. Also living on board are an individual of each species the Spesh Empire is allied with. Representing the Girtha Bertha Empire is a woman named Zoe. The Crolos Empire is represented by a man named Takagaki. Miyu is a Scorpion Lord woman who represents her species' empire on board. Felix, a Leafy Kyrozi man, represents his empire aboard the Deck Hawk. The final one on board is an Arclart man named Yon.
The Deck Hawk also leads a fleet composed of spaceships belonging to the other five empires, each of which has five of its species aboard (a captain, a pilot, and three posse members). The Crolos Empire pilot a ship model called the Practicale (made in Spore by MaxisKSeid, one of many Maxis employee accounts whose creations fall under Maxis Made in the online Sporepedia). The Girtha Bertha Empire has a ship model called Sovkaan following it (which comes pre-installed with every copy of Spore). The Scorpion Lord Empire have the Redraff (made in-game by MaxisGuillaume). The Leafy Kyrozi Empire has a spaceship called the Celestial Snake in the fleet (made by Rebecca1208 aka DarkEdgeTV). The Arclart have a replica of the Megazord from Power Rangers (made by "Davias" in the game).
The Deck Hawk itself is bigger on the inside, though not to the same extent in all of it. The description in-game (and in the screenshot) lists various things you can do with spaceships in Spore's Space Stage.

has anyone else seen the incredibly strange and unique glitch that happens when recording Spore in OBS with game capture? Because it has fascinated me for years and it is so odd that is does this at all.
Strangely, it seems to not be discussed much online and no one really goes into why. even i dont have tech answers on Why but the most is that OBS seems to capture the loading of textures/normal maps/etc when something like a creature is loaded (doesnt happen with vehicles or buildings). They are so fast that I guess it can be assumed this is being done all the times when you are playing, but for some reason OBS manages to process it. If anyone has more insight, feel free to add on.
I will post screenshots below, but you can see a video where i slowed it down 10% (even then, its still really bad). There are a few clips out there but I wanted to slow it down as much as I could.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And the first time it happened was incredibly unsettling. and streaming it live without realizing it would happen is horrible lol... It only appears on the OBS/viewers side, and not on your own game screen so its easy to not notice right away.
