I loved my uncle’s springer spaniels growing up. they hunted pheasants with him
I’ve always found the relationship between people and working dogs amazing. somehow we learned to communicate such complex things between two different species???
it’s amazing how much some dogs can understand
(not my dog though. we wanted a dumb dog and we got one. it means he’s slow to learn new things but he’s also unlikely to get in trouble. it took him a couple weeks to understand stairs. it took him at least six months to learn ‘sit’ despite regular repetition. he’s small and lazy and food motivated and sweet and perfect for us)
he likes sleeping between two dog beds. you’d think a jack russell/chihuahua would be a terrible mix but he’s pretty chill

My brother's first dog, Buddy, unfortunately passed away this past Thanksgiving, and I really wanted to give him a gift to remember him by. I was supposed to get it done in time for Christmas but the spirit lasts all year cut me some slack
He was a super good boy and I hope this does him justice! I bashed together a few photos of him and did some rough painting, I think it turned out well :0
