Hey just letting you guys know I'm joining Art Fight this year on the side of seafoam!!🌊✨ I'll be honest the whole reason I decided to join up was because of the team names lol.

Hey I'm @squiddokiddo or just Squiddo for short. I also have a fanart blog @thatkidwholikesthunderbirds.

I was first introduced to classic thunderbirds as a little kiddo but my interest in the series really started when TAG first aired when I was 12. I've only been active in the fandom for about 2-3 years but it feels like forever.

If you didn't already know, Thunderbirds and most specifically Gordon are very important to me, I suffer from several mental illnesses and Gords has brought me comfort in some really difficult times. Love that dork.

I'm aroace, my pronouns are they/them and I'm transneutral/unlabled in terms of gender. I've always known that I didn't fit my AGAB but didn't realise I was trans until I was about 16, I also figured out I was aromantic around about that time too. I found out I was ace when I was about 12-13, I heard about asexuality from a friend and I instantly identified with the label, it was probably the easiest part of my identity to figure out tbh. (;^^)

I feel so honoured to be a part of planning this event, we've got so many fun things planned for pride. I hope you guys have an amazing time.💛💛

🥞 PANCAKE - what is their comfort breakfast?

To answer this question, I'll start by saying that Alice is half Italian, half American (her parents have different nationalities and it kinda reflected on her too, growing up in one place and moving to another), so she's used to a salty breakfast (bacon & eggs, stuff like that) and a sweet one (pancakes, cake, cappuccino & brioche, milk & cereals/biscuit, oatmeal); she prefers by far a sweet breakfast, the sugar giving her the necessary kick to start the day.

Her usual to-go breakfast, when she isn't in a hurry/a guest in someone else's house (you tend to kinda eat what they give you lololz), is:

a cappuccino (or if she needs to wake up right away a black coffee like that)

waffles! she loves those (her teeth always protest)

one thing she can't do without, and which she gets even if she's in a hurry, are fruit juice/smoothies. She tends to prefer handmade ones, so she makes and drinks them herself (the amount of lemons she has in her house is close to infinity)

Summary? Fruit juice is a must in her breakfast, the rest can be easily discarded/replaced.

For the ask game: 6 for John please

How would I spend the day with John?

Well, clearly it's space themed somewhat … but as I'd expect he'd visit these two places for sure I wouldn't be taking him to the traditional NASA/Space Center Houston (Texas) or Cape Kennedy (Florida).

I'd argue he'd be interested in touring the remains of the Trinity Project site, but as that's an all day event and you really wouldn't see much - I think he'd skip it unless he really needed sleep.

(The Trinity Project site is open only twice a year as it's on the White Sands Military base. It's the site where they tested the first nuclear bomb, and really from what I've seen and read, there isn't much).

So, we'd go to the New Mexico Museum of Space History in Alamogordo, New Mexico and tour the building.

He'd probably be like me - but worse, correcting folks on names of astronauts next to the scale models of the original projects.

(No seriously - for as much as they talk about Alan Shepard himself and John Glenn's Friendship 7 mission, they sure do use a lot of photos of Gordon Cooper for references to items. Cooper wasn't even from New Mexico. Several of the doctors and physicians who whittled down the 32 applicants to 7 were that I know of, and the original 7 had their physicals in a clinic in Albuquerque).

He'd likely too get a kick out of seeing all the rockets and test tracks and such.

Don't know if the staff would be appreciative or annoyed he’d talk people through the landing of shuttles in the simulators (they have fun seeing folks try but fail spectacularly…) then debate the rocket building. (He Would have some issues about the experiences of the experience if you were in a rocket or shuttle for several projects).

We'd likely skip the planetarium and Omni, but instead go to White Sands National Park (not part of the base) and have fun walking and sliding down the sand dunes. (Yes, we'd get the sleds to do this, and hilarity would ensue. There'd be perks here with him being well known- he would have a lifetime pass to the parks).

Afterward, we'd likely go to either Pistachioland for pistachios (maybe sample some wine) or just head up 18 miles to Cloudcroft, stopping at the Red Barn Restaurant to eat a good burger and fries (I preferred theirs over the restaurant I ate at in Cloudcroft, though it too was good), maybe see the railroad trestle bridge too.

If the weather was pleasant we'd eat outside and enjoy the mountain view (it was too windy and cold for me to do this last go).

The rest of the day would be enjoying the mountains in Cloudcroft, some shopping (if the weather was nice - the snow does stay there even in 60*F temps), drive by the museum (I'll be honest it'd be closed by the time we got there), do some walking around the cabin site and then turn in for the night. It would either be two separate cabins or one of the larger ones with two separate rooms.

I'm not much of a talker and I don't often reply to comments left on my art and things because I am really self conscious and I'm really shy.

I cannot say I am at all surprised about Scott, ahaha. A little surprised about Gordon but I suppose the amount of Military Bros stuff I've written and posted contributes significantly to that..?

I don’t have many for Virgil that aren’t common for all, but here’s the few I have.

They are pretty much all TAG but point B. Can be read TOS/TAG. (I have no headcanon a for the movie version except - for all but Alan, they are treated better script wise)

A. Virgil trained primarily as a paramedic/EMT then engineering second because if what a team did to save his life and foot after the avalanche. He only studied engineering more after a bad rescue at a sub standard mall that the engineer took a shortcuts.

B. He’s the one who tested the snooze buttons (a type of bubble sticker that administers a sedative on an unruly patient) in space settings because John had already been a Guinea pig for another test and was having bc a really bad day.

C. Virgil learned a lot of ways to incapacitate someone without hurting them from Parker. He also learned ways to sedate people through that way if all legal means were exhausted, so he didn’t contradict his oath to take care of people. He usually doesn’t use them, but has a couple of times due to things beyond any of their control at a rescue. 

D. Kayo/Virgil. I personally prefer keeping get platonic, as it is, the kid show, but for the two I just felt they worked better together than the pushed Kayo/Scott version.

Hey so..

I've been thinking and I've decided to start another art side blog where I'll be drawing all sorts of characters and stuff from all sorts of different fandoms. Since being kicked from my art course I have thought long and hard about my art and skills and I want expand the range of subjects I doodle and learn new things from the different styles and shapes used in character design.

TAG is my core and my only fandom, I'm not a part of any other fandoms. (they're kinda scary and daunting lol) No Thunderbirds or Gerry Anderson content will appear on the new blog, my Thunderbirds stuff will only be on @thatkidwholikesthunderbirds or @squiddokiddo just for you guys.
