We didn't use one system to track the character arcs, but rather focused on them individually, and then mapped them against the "world plot". In other words, We considered the world around the characters as its own entity with an arc, except it only moved forward based on character choices. That way, it feels like stakes are higher, and it truly feels like their actions have consequences that put an entire city at risk. One thing you'll notice is that nearly all episodes have a flashback in the beginning of the episode. This marks the character who "owns" the episode, and will make a significant step forward in their story.

Hello there!! First off, I love your work- your creative voice is developed and your art style is delicious. V much an inspiration 😁

Anyway, I've been having trouble with embedding images in my fics, and since you write and draw I thought you might have some tips. I've exhausted Reddit and Ao3's FAQ has been no help. I'll take anything, html tips, better hosting sites for images, etc.

hiii thank you so much!! AO3 uses limited HTML, so for future referencing you can use any general html guide (w3school etc) to check how to write your code correctly.

this page is the most straightforward reference for embedding pics on ao3

since ao3 cannot host images, you need to upload your pic somewhere before embedding it. i use postimages.org

in the html editor, insert your image with the code:

<img src="URL GOES HERE">

SRC is the source of the image, aka the url. you can resize an image using WIDTH and/or HEIGHT. and if you want to get fancy, you can add hover text using TITLE and alt text with ALT. so, if you wanted to resize a square down to 100px, that would look like this:

you can also align your image as left, right, or centered on the page. just place your image within a <div> tag like so:

Neck exposure (or lack thereof) as a vulnerability signal is a general character design Thing, not specific to Arcane—but I'm sticking a pin in "Cait basically wraps herself up in a fortress." It brings the cape to mind more than anything, and that accessory is foisted upon her. It's not voluntary, at least in the context of that particular scene. But she sure does wear it again on numerous occasions: during the "Paint the Town Blue" montage, while visiting Stillwater, and when threatening Singed.

I find the silhouette it creates more... goofy, almost, than imposing. Comically exaggerated, #hashtagCountFagula; the costume design equivalent of driving an overlarge truck, maybe. Overcompensating for fear, queen?

Concubus Patron

Welcome to the result of a tumblr thread! I was never really satisfied that the monster manual entry was "Succubus/Incubus". Like, I get that they're two halves of the same thing, and are mechanically identical, but why list two names? Similar to this, I also combine the "Lizardfolk King/Queen" entry to "Lizardfolk Monarch" because that just looks better. Weird specifics aside, patron time!

Enticing Temptation

AKA the concubi's charm action, but weaker. Stronger than charm person though.

Charmed Communication

This is the GOO warlock's awakened mind, but because that's the only 1st level feature, it's obviously weaker, but hopefully interesting

Enervating Caress

The iconic feature of the concubus, very limited, but hopefully fun. Not just a kiss, because I try to not force a player into performing intimate actions. Also, I was inspired by Wrath of the Righteous' Arueshalae mentioning that she can't even touch the player without potentially killing them.

Expanded Connection

Making the starting feature stronger, because the concubus only has like four features, and the last one kind of works as the capstone

Astral Getaway

Behold! A magnificent mansion to take your lovers… or allies… or pillowfort. This was based on the Seeker's capstone, but also it was kind of boring considering the theme. Besides, MMM is available to 13th level characters, so this seemed reasonable.

Do you chat about fic in discords with friends? Copy bits of your messages and add whatever context you feel is needed to convey your emotions/point

There’s also a plugin/browser tool you can get that lets you have the comment box next to the fic as you go if you’re on desktop typically and that would make this commenting style easier. I will be back with an edit if I can find the link on my own blog but we know how search on a blog goes. I’m on mobile rn which does not help me with finding browser plugins

but: consider. if u genuinely like analyzing writing.. do u know ur just allowed to go through and quote your favorite parts and ramble abt what they mean to u and the author will LOSE IT WITH HYPE?

genuinely. i felt SO WEIRD the first time i did it.. but like. holy shit authors love it. its crack for authors. the first time i did it, it was on a fic that hadnt updated in half a year, give or take, and the author made 3 updates that month BECAUSE OF MY COMMENT.

LIKE. as an author every comment is INCREDIBLE!!! but also, dont feel like your comment has to be short or otherwise ur invasive or smth!! authors ADORE long comments more than ANYTHING.
