🏜️ We Lie Here 🏜️ Pub Date: July 12, 2022 Thank you to @booksparks and @rhowzellhall for the opportunity to read this one! SYNOPSIS: A woman’s trip home reveals frightening truths in a twisty novel of murder and family secrets by the New York Times bestselling author of And Now She’s Gone and These Toxic Things. TV writer Yara Gibson’s hometown of Palmdale, California, isn’t her first choice for a vacation. But she’s back to host her parents’ twentieth-anniversary party and find the perfect family mementos for the celebration. Everything is going to plan until Yara receives a disturbing text: I have information that will change your life. The message is from Felicia Campbell, who claims to be a childhood friend of Yara’s mother. But they’ve been estranged for years—drama best ignored and forgotten. But Yara can’t forget Felicia, who keeps texting, insisting that Yara talk to her “before it’s too late.” But the next day is already too late for Felicia, whose body is found floating in Lake Palmdale. Before she died, Felicia left Yara a key to a remote lakeside cabin. In the basement are files related to a mysterious tragedy, unsolved since 1998. What secrets was Felicia hiding? How much of what Yara knows about her family has been true? The deeper Yara digs for answers, the more she fears that Felicia was right. Uncovering the truth about what happened at the cabin all those years ago will change Yara’s life—or end it. Book Review…The Lifestyle by Taylor Hahn Georgina Wagman has it all a great marriage, a great job at a prestigious law firm, and great friends. She’s living the life she always wanted, and everything is perfect. Until, that is, she walks in on her husband Nathan in a compromising position with a junior associate. Georgina has a moment of crisis. But divorce is not a part of the five-year plan, so she comes up with an idea to save her marriage and recapture the spark. She and Nathan are going to become swingers. Her plan is foolproof, until she runs into a college ex at the first party. When they reconnect, Georgina will find herself torn between her head and her heart, with her very happiness hanging in the balance. This was a good read! The characters are good; they are each trying to solve their own issues. Georgina is messy and has her flaws but she's really just trying to find herself and find happiness on her own terms. The pace was steady and the writing was great. But I did have problems staying with it so it took me a little longer to finish than it normally does. I don't really know why because I can't think of anything I didn't like other than I do wish there was more romance. But other than that it's entertaining and a fun read! Thank you Book Sparks for sharing this book with me! #BookSparksBookClub #SRC2022 #books #bookreview #bookworm #bookish #booksta #igbooks #igreads #romcom #thelifestyle #TaylorHahn #read #bookstagram #readstagrammer (at Cleveland, Ohio) https://www.instagram.com/p/CfUgYtLpUZb/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

We had SO MUCH FUN yesterday at our first teen summer program! We spent a couple hours trying to recreate Da Vinci’s “Lady With an Ermine,” and the results were some of the most unexpectedly creative interpretations of a Renaissance painting we’d ever seen! Make sure you check the link in our bio to get registered for all of the upcoming programs this summer!

🌴📖A Caribbean Heiress in Paris ✈️🌴 By: Adriana Herrera Thank you to my Partner, @booksparks and @ladriana_herrera PUB Date: May 31, 2022 SYNOPSIS: Paris, 1889 The Exposition Universelle is underway, drawing merchants from every corner of the globe. Luz Alana Heith-Benzan set sail from Santo Domingo armed with three hundred casks of rum, her two best friends and one simple rule: under no circumstances is she to fall in love. The City of Light is where Luz Alana will expand Caña Brava, the rum business her family built over three generations. It’s a mission that’s taken on new urgency after her father’s untimely death and the news that her trust fund won’t be released until she marries. But buyers and shippers alike are rude and dismissive; they can’t imagine doing business with a woman…never mind a woman of color. From her first tempestuous meeting with James Evanston Sinclair, Earl of Darnick, Luz Alana is conflicted. Why is this manthis titled Scottish man—so determined to help her? And why, honestly, is he so infuriatingly charming? All Evan Sinclair ever wanted was to find a purpose away from his father’s dirty money and dirtier politics. Ignoring his title, he’s built a whiskey brand that’s his biggest—and only—passion. That is, until he’s confronted with a Spanish-speaking force of nature who turns his life upside down. Evan quickly suspects he’ll want Luz Alana with him forever. Every day with her makes the earl wish for more than her magnificent kisses or the marriage of convenience that might save them both. But Luz Alana sailed for Paris with her eyes on liquor, money and new beginnings. She wasn't prepared for love to find her.
