We took a sneaky lil peek at the new books that are processing and oooooh boy do we have some good stuff coming your way. More copies of #divinerivals plus its brand new sequel, the new YA @alihazelwood book, volume five of #heartstopper (and the novella This Winter!), @stephanie_garber’s A Curse for True Love, and soooo many more! Personally, we’re absolutely losing it over the cover art for The Scarlet Alchemist. How can you not?!

One of our amazing virtual teen volunteers, Salih, brought in his Spider-Man/Miles Morales inspired artwork for us to show off and display! As someone who just finally watched the second Spiderverse movie, I’m a little obsessed with that first painting. Anyway, we’ve got them displayed above the comics and graphic novels in the teen room. Come check them out!

Friday....our annual birthday bash for The Boy Who Lived returns!

Remember back in March when we had @improv_act here for the D&D Mini Con and they did their awesome Goofs & Goblins show and then taught the workshop about getting into character? Well they're back! When making this reading list, I realized there are not nearly as many YA fiction books featuring autistic protagonists as there should be. Which is unfortunately the case in a lot of minority representation situations. Anyway, please take a look at some we *do* have available at the Smith Public Library, and remember to always speak out about wanting to see more neurodivergent characters in your books!

Note: the protagonists featured in the books on slides 4 and 5 are not explicitly stated on the page as being autistic, but have been confirmed to be so by the authors.

We’ve got a brand new teen volunteer-submitted Spotify playlist to get you going this week! Abi submitted this fantastic, nearly two hours long, playlist inspired by @rainbowrowell’s Eleanor & Park. We've got another artist spotlight for a creator that will be presenting at our D&D Mini Con on March 8th! Jamie, of @colorspraycreations , will be walking us through her process as well as bringing some gorgeous dice examples and potential raffle prizes with her 😮 ALSO, she has a new dice drop happening in her store TOMORROW, February 25th, at noon! We have one set of dice created by her and oh my glob, they were named after Adventure Time's Lumpy Space Princess and they are VERY purple and VERY pretty. We can't wait for her presentation!
