Hermit redesign even though I didn't do anything too interesting or imaginative with him. I just like this trope of character designs and I always thought it was a shame his design never leaned into it. For someone so spiritually connected to the wild horses he also just looks like a grandpa I'd pass by in Kaufland.

I've taken inspiration from how these characters are usually portrayed in Slavic media and fairy tales. However I genuinely can't tell the Hermit's race? I think he's white? But if he isn't I am sorry for slav-washing him </3 These tropes and changes could be done with any other culture in mind, I just thought this fit and its something close to my heart.

I also gave up on the paint over after a while, I am sure you can tell LOL. His model is a mess, even more than I thought as I progressively worked on him. Looking back I should have used the new Gary Goldtooth model for this, but oh well. It was a mental exercise

Love Alex but I definitely had higher expectations for the new quest, I was really expecting sso to delve into Alex's struggles (especially with what is I'm assuming to be ADHD) and create a compelling quest line that resonates with its audience. It's such a missed opportunity to give her some depth.

I was disappointed to find that it was just a line of errand quests to help Alex coordinate an event that we don't even learn the name of. I was still content with this premise but became frustrated at Alex's characterization. I kept waiting for the part where Alex gets annoyed with herself and then learns how to overcome her setbacks (the usual story beats) but it just kinda skipped that step and went straight to the solution (which isn't really a solution IMO but nevertheless)

I just think this quest had the chance to really stick in our brains. A fair chunk of us have grown into young adults now and trying to earn a living these days is HARD. Especially so for neurodivergent people.

PS: I kinda think it's a good thing that many of us are disappointed, it's a sign that sso has raised the bar significantly in these past couple years. This one was just a bit wack.

now that theres so many ppl on ssoblr i feel like it would be really helpful to start a habit of using some specific tag for art, like ssoart or ssoblrart or whatever.... bc i used to enjoy browsing and rbing everyones art but i just cant keep up with ssoblr anymore at all. im happy theres tons of neat ppl on here but when i pop on i just cant really find ppls art that was posted while i was away

i know many ppl like myself barely tag our posts at all and arent really interested in tagging like that.... so idk

but it would make it a lot easier to find ssoblr art.....
