Here's Bones being unreasonably nasty to Spock, as he often is:

As soon as Spock challenges Bones' statement about Spock's inability to feel, Bones like "good point, there's that whole thing you have for Jim, my bad". And Spock doesn't even pretend it's not correct, doesn't roll eyes or lift eyebrows or anything, because that is what he meant by the "Really?".

What’s so interesting about star trek tos is that all this crazy batshit stuff happens but it’s never brought up again. BUT not only that, the characters still gradually change. Their relationships with each other grow. Stuff evolves. It’s not like, ‘well that happened, time to reset!’ It’s more like, ‘things happened that are never going to be mentioned ever again but we have still changed.’ And it’s fucking baffling

You know how Bread and Circuses did the suggestive pan to the lamp to imply Kirk had sex, complete with a pan down to show Kirk sleeping alone and fully clothed in the bed long after the lamp has burned out?

And then The Cloud Minders does a pan from Kirk sleeping fully clothed on the bed to Spock sitting in the chair across from him?

Surely can't be implying anything here, nope.

love that Spock is completely incapable of admitting he likes Bones and will find literally any other "logical" explanation to explain it away and the thing is I cant even blame him because if he ever did admit to feeling anything at all towards Bones, Bones would immediately become the most insufferable man alive and he would make himself Spock's personal problem
