Singapore was in my top 5 of cities to be visited once in their lifetime. Along with Tokyo ( ✓), New York ( ✓), Rio ( ✓), Dubai (missing).
Before leaving, I already knew that it is a city-state, with the highest reddit of the world, a clean and ultra modern city, with zero crime. With the most beautiful and functional airport in the world.
What I didn’t know is that the weather is really suffocating, but lots of green among the skyscrapers makes the climate more acceptable. I did not imagine that people here dress in the same way as in Milan or London (go to lunchbreak in downtown and you will understand what I mean), but they seem to live in a less hectic way. The metro here is never crowded, people wait in tidy order on the sides of the doors, there are even footsteps steackers to show you where to stop.
Singapore welcomes tourists with the dazzle of light shows, from the futuristic ones of the Gardens by the Bay, to the water ones of the Marina Bay. I wondered how rich this Country may be, to host these amazing shows every day for tourists completely for free. Singapore people are honest and respectful, proud of their diversity and jealous of their city. And yes, Singapore is really expensive, but I think there is a reason.
It the climate were different, I think I would like to live here in Singapore. For sure, I will come back one day.
Last thing: travel bloggers usually hate Singapore, they say it’s too artificial and not an authentic Asian city. Further confirmation that I’m not a travel blogger ;)

[ ITALIAN ]
Insieme a Tokyo (vista), New York (vista), Rio (vista), Dubai (manca).

10 reasons to visit Singapore
[symple_divider style=”double” margin_top=”20″ margin_bottom=”20″]
#1
for its cosmopolitan attitude | per il suo essere cosmopolita
[symple_divider style=”dashed” margin_top=”20″ margin_bottom=”20″]
[symple_spacing size=”20″]
Singapore is a collage of different communities and religions, a multi-racial society, each one living respectfully alongside each other. An unique cosmopolite city which reflects in the architecture, which is an amazing blend of old and new, of super modern skyscrapers with heritage buildings.
[symple_divider style=”dashed” margin_top=”20″ margin_bottom=”20″]
#2
for the Gardens by the Bay | per visitare i Gardens by the Bay
[symple_divider style=”dashed” margin_top=”20″ margin_bottom=”20″]
[symple_spacing size=”20″]
Gardens by the Bay are ones of the most spectacular gardens in the world, a very touristic attraction but really really fascinating. In these amazing gardens you will find the Supertrees, where you can enjoy a skywalk on a suspended walkway or the show from below, especially a stunning light show taking place every evening. In the gardens, there’s also the amazing Cloud Forest, a huge greenhouse with a 35-metre tall mountain covered in tropical vegetation and a waterfall
[symple_divider style=”dashed” margin_top=”20″ margin_bottom=”20″]
#3
for the skyline at night | per la skyline notturna

[symple_divider style=”dashed” margin_top=”20″ margin_bottom=”20″]
#4
for its airport | per il suo aereoporto
[symple_divider style=”dashed” margin_top=”20″ margin_bottom=”20″]
[symple_spacing size=”20″]
Many people travel to Singapore just as a stop-over from different flights, and this is actually the most important in the Far East. Changi Airport is the best airport in the world and if you have the chance to spend some time here you will easily learn why. There’s even a swimming pool available for the longest stays!
This amazing airport, already huge, is now expanding with a futuristic project called “Jewel,” scheduled for completion in 2018. It will feature the world’s tallest indoor waterfall, gardens, walking trails, retail shops and a new hotel.
[symple_divider style=”dashed” margin_top=”20″ margin_bottom=”20″]
#5
for Little India and Chinatown | per Little india e Chinatown
[symple_divider style=”dashed” margin_top=”20″ margin_bottom=”20″]
[symple_spacing size=”20″]
Among Singapore skyscrapers there are some areas that are completely different from the rest. For example, the colorful Little India, a true Indian community inside the metropolis, or the Chinatown, the cleanest one I’ve ever seen (any doubts?)
[symple_divider style=”dashed” margin_top=”20″ margin_bottom=”20″]
#6
for its shops | per lo shopping
[symple_divider style=”dashed” margin_top=”20″ margin_bottom=”20″]
[symple_spacing size=”20″]
Yes Singapore is really the shopping paradise. Of course, of an expensive shopping, so for me it was more about visiting beautiful shops and amazing malls, and design interiors like that one of the Orchard National Library. But Singapore is not only about shopping malls: I recommend you a walk in the Tiong Bahru area to find many cute original shops and coffee shops!
[symple_divider style=”dashed” margin_top=”20″ margin_bottom=”20″]
#7
for the Helix bridge walk | per la passeggiata sull’Helix bridge
[symple_divider style=”dashed” margin_top=”20″ margin_bottom=”20″]
[symple_spacing size=”20″]
The walk from the Merlion to the Marina Bay Sands, across the Jubilee and Helix Bridge, is really one of the most amazing city walks I’ve ever done. I recommend to do it in the sunset hours, to get the Marina Bay Sands around 8 pm and take a sit to enjoy the Wonderfull show. It takes place every evening and it’s completely free!
[symple_divider style=”dashed” margin_top=”20″ margin_bottom=”20″]
#8
for the Marina Bay Sands
[symple_divider style=”dashed” margin_top=”20″ margin_bottom=”20″]
[symple_spacing size=”20″]
Yes confirm, the world famous infinity pool on the hotel rooftop is accessible only to the hotel guests (and however really crowd!). I was able to access it thanks to a small press tour, but normally you can only access to the rooftop terrace: it’s worth a visit, the panorama of Singapore Bay from hereis beautiful! The Marina Bay Sands is worth a visit also for its interior, with 55 floors overlooking a mega central hall. Spectacular
Spettacolare
This unique hotel of 55 floors is indeed a marvel of design and of daring creation. This nugget of architectural wonder offers 2,500 luxury rooms and suites with a spectacular view over the city.
[symple_divider style=”dashed” margin_top=”20″ margin_bottom=”20″]
#9
for its green | per il suo verde
[symple_divider style=”dashed” margin_top=”20″ margin_bottom=”20″]
[symple_spacing size=”20″]
Singapore is one of the greenest cities in the world, it has strict regulations on motor vehicles circulations and green can be found everywhere, and everywhere it is clean and tidy. Be warned tbecause there are several strict rules and bans we the Europeans are really not used to. Everything is done in order to keep the city clean and beautiful!
[symple_divider style=”dashed” margin_top=”20″ margin_bottom=”20″]
#10
for the Singlish
[symple_divider style=”dashed” margin_top=”20″ margin_bottom=”20″]
[symple_spacing size=”20″]
Singapore is a super easy city to be visited because everybody here speaks English. However it’s a particular kind of English, called the Singlish, which really made me laugh because of its animated colloquial slang. You will recognize it!

In 1977, Grover Washington Jr. released a record that is dear to many Philadelphians // It was, “Live at The Bijou” which showcased one of Philadelphia’s premier music venues of the time and also spotlighted his all Philly band, with Richard Lee Steacker – electric guitar, James "Sid" Simmons – keyboards, Tyrone Brown – bass, Millard "Pete" Vinson – drums, Leonard "Doc" Gibbs – percussion, Leslie Burrs – flute and the great, John Blake Jr. – electric violin // The record made the top of the Billboard charts for Pop, Soul and Jazz. Two songs from the record, that were quite popular on many radio station playlists were, "Summer Song" and "Sausalito.” // Celebrating one of the greatest, funkiest, silkiest and smoothest to ever do it.
