Bucky coming home one day and seeing Steve hunched over on his bed, paper laid in his lap and charcoal pinched between his fingers. Steve looked up, sensing his presence in the doorway, and as he does, Bucky sees a small smudge of charcoal streaked on his cheek. Like Steve had wiped his face, forgetting the black residue on his thumbs. And at that, his heart swells and his stomach flips and fills with so many butterflies he feels he's gonna burst with it.
"Welcome hom--" Steve started but Bucky rushed forward and wrapped his arms around him, "Hi" Bucky mumbled into blonde hair. He's so in love with him he's almost overwhelmed. Steve made a confused hum but leaned back into him "Hi?" He tipped his head up and raised an eyebrow at him. "Wassup with you?" Steve asks but Bucky only grins wider and hooks a stray strand of blonde hair behind his ear. "Nothin' I just love you." Steve flushes red but grins back. " Love you too, Jerk." "Punk." Bucky mutters affectionately and presses a kiss to his forehead. His Punk.

I have the headcanon that Steve is a on-his-side, stays in one spot curled up sleeper and Bucky is a sprawl-out and constantly moving sleeper.
So Steve growing up has had more than a handful of days with Bucky's feet in his face, or his hands on his face, or even shoved up against the wall while Bucky's starfished out next to him.
It's not very different in their apartment either, Bucky falls asleep curled around Steve, then on his back, then his stomach, then his side, then his stomach again. Just constantly moving. Meanwhile Steve is just in a tiny ball next to him.
The ONE time, this dynamic was ever different, was when Steve had a very bad fever. He was delirious, and cold, and upset. So Bucky pulled him up on his chest, laid out on top of him and cuddled him. It only took Steve a couple minutes for him to fall asleep instead of the usual hour.
Bucky wakes up a little later to Steve squirming and shifting around on him, Steve eventually settles with himself curled back up into a ball. Bucky thinks its cute and goes back to sleep....only for the next morning to wake up with Steve sprawled out over him with his legs hanging off the bed snoring.
Bucky Never. Lets him. Live it. Down.
"It was ONE TIME Buck, ONE TIME"
"Uh-huh, whatever you say pal."
Cue them wrestling on the ground for the next 15 minutes.

I love the stucky fic trope where its like
Steve: Yeah, me and Bucky sleep in the same bed, and cuddle at night, and we also hold hands when noones looking and hook our ankles under the table, and also we've had hot steamy emotional intimate passionate sex and we've told eachother we loved eachother... but i KNOW bucky loves women, he's going to leave me to go settle down with a GOOD GIRL and get MARRIED☹️☹️💔💔💔

Steve and Bucky are definitely the type of people to slap each other on the ass out of nowhere, and then chase eachother around trying to one up the other with how hard they can slap eachother.
And they definitely would overreact to getting hit, like Bucky would scream and writhe on the floor and Steve would pretend to start crying and would sink to his knees like he was in pain.
