Note
For Beware the Bat, Sarah Stiles (Spinel from Steven Universe) as Harley Quinn. I believe she'd be perfect at switching between Harley as a goofy but dangerous villain, a tragic victim, and a broken woman with potential for redemption.
(OMFG I GOT MY FIRST VOICECLAIM SUGGESTION!!! OK BE CALM BE CALM. BE CALM BE CALM)
Thank you so much for the suggestion!!!
Without further ado
BEWARE THE BAT CHARACTER DROP: Harley Quinn
Tumblr media
Voiceclaim: Sarah Stiles
Tumblr media
Dr. Quinzel was a psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum, where she fell in love with the Joker and ultimately became his accomplice and lover. Harley left Joker after Ivy made her realize how Joker used and abused her to the point where she became emotionally, and at times physically dependent on him. She's known for her playful and unpredictable behavior, characterized by her clown-inspired attire and Brooklyn accent. Harley is skilled in acrobatics and wields various weapons, often utilizing a large mallet.
Some other notes:
Harley's aesthetic is going to be based off of 80s female musicians(think Blondie or Madonna)
I cannot thank you enough for the suggestion for Stiles as the voiceclaim since I was looking for a good voice to both capture Harley's personality and bounce off of Micheal Kovach as the Joker and Deborah Anne Woll as Ivy
If you're enjoying this type of thing, I post things about Beware the Bat and it's spin off Man Of Tomorrow if you're interested^^

pairing: stiles stilinski x oc a/n: I don’t know shit about electricity, fuzes or power substations and I’m sorry if that comes through in this chapter. the reason I didn’t do any research is because I don’t want to. this is just one chapter and if it annoys you that much it’s honestly not my problem. otherwise I’m really proud of how this turned out so I hope you’ll enjoy it.  warnings: kidnapping, murder attempt, death, angst. wordcount: 2674

Valerie
I had been going on daily walks for years now. It was a nice and healthy way to get out of the house and calm down, all while enjoying the fresh air. Even in the mids of the crazy things going on lately, I had made sure to never break my habit of going on walks daily, though, one element about them had changed about them.
I had made sure to never listen to music before. I wanted that time to be alone with my thoughts and just think. But now there was so much I didn’t wanna think about. Now it was way too scary to be alone with my thoughts. So I had started listening to music in order to drown them out.
I was midway through that day’s walk – Joan Jett and the Blackhearts’ “Bad Reputation” blasting through my headphones – when I passed the forest. Usually, I would walk through it, but after almost getting eaten by a rabid coyote just yesterday, it didn’t seem like such an appealing thought.
But perhaps it would’ve been smarter to walk into the forest that night. Maybe then things would’ve been different. In the dark of the woods, I would’ve probably lost him. But I didn’t. And as a result, just one minute after I passed the forest, I felt a sharp pain in the back of my head, I fell down onto the ground, and everything went black.

Stiles
“No, nothing,” Isaac’s voice rang through the phone. “Just stuff about flies and the dead. Nothing else.”
I tried my best not to sigh out of frustration. That Isaac and Allison had been unsuccessful in finding anything in the bestiary about flies, it meant we had no leads to help us save Valerie and Kira.
“Alright,” I said, adding, “thanks,” afterward, hoping that it would neutralize my aggressive tone. I hung up and turned back to Scott and Lydia. “We have to think of something quick or he’s going to kill them.”
“I knew he was there,” said Lydia. “How did I know that?”
“Because you heard the flies, right?”
Scott nodded. “So what do you hear now?”
Lydia concentrated, her face morphing into a pained expression. “Nothing. I feel like I can do this, but I don’t know what to do. It’s- it’s like it’s on the tip of my tough and I don’t know how to trigger it.” she said, voice trembling. “I just...” Lydia’s hands traveled up and she began pulling on her hair. “I swear to God, it literally makes me want to scream.”
Her words triggered a memory from the back of my head. Lydia was a banshee. The wailing woman.
“Okay, then scream,” I said. “Lydia, scream.”
She didn’t even hesitate to follow my order. The air immediately filled with a high-pitched cry that seemed to shake the very earth that we stood on. My hands immediately flew to cover my ears, but luckily it was over quickly.
After she had gone silent, Lydia just sort of stood there, listening, as Scott and I watched her intently. Then her gaze traveled upward and she watched the streetlight above.
“It’s not flies,” she said. “It’s electricity.”
That triggered another memory of mine.
“Wait a second, Barrow was an electrical engineer. He worked at a power substation.”
“What substation?”
---
Valerie
Tears started blooming in my eyes as I desperately tugged on the orange wires which were tying Kira and I to the fence, but it was to no use. Kira shook beside me, and I turned my head towards her. I opened my mouth and tried to reassure her, say that we were gonna get out of here, but I couldn’t.
My heart-beat rose like crazy as we watched the escaped child-murderer, William Barrow, cut through a very large electrical cord with an ax. It split in two easily and Barrow began walking towards us, dragging the now exposed cord against the fence. My bottom lip started to tremble but Kira started full-on sniffling. If she wasn’t shaking so much she probably would’ve been sobbing. We both knew that coming into contact with that exposed cord would mean coming into contact with about 1.21 gigawatts of electricity. There was no way we could survive that.
When Barrow got even closer Kira’s survival instinct seemed to kick in, and she managed to squeeze out four words.
“What are you doing?”
Her question made him stop in his steps.
“Right now?” He asked. I couldn’t help but notice his bony hand squeezing the cord even harder. Barrow looked old, but it was hard to tell if he actually was old or if being imprisoned for so long had added about 20 years to his appearance. He was tall and lanky, with leather-like grey skin, bony legs and arms, and hollow cheeks. I was sure that if he wasn’t wearing a shirt I would’ve been able to see his ribcage clearly.
“Ah, right now,” he repeated and leaned down towards us. Kira and I both immediately shifted our faces away from him. His bony fingers reached into Kira’s flannel-pocket and he took out her phone. “I’m gonna take your picture. Just a little proof of our time together,” he continued as he turned on the flash on Kira’s phone. “A little proof for all of those people who never believed.” The phone clicked and the flash went off.
“Okay, you got your picture,” I said, trying to get my voice to tremble as little as possible. “You wanna let us go now?”
“Oh..” Barrow’s head tilted to the side and he shook his head. Even though we were pressed up together, I tried to move closer to Kira as she took my hand in hers and squeezed it.
“Did you ever see a movie called Village of the Damned? The original, not the remake. No one cares about crappy remakes. I’m talking about the 1960, black-and-white masterpiece. Huh?” asked Barrow. His voice somehow reminded me of a bomb. A bomb that could go off if triggered with just one little bad move. Which is why I felt it was best to not answer his question.
He took our silence as a no.
“It’s about this group of children. Blonde-haired...” I leaned my head as far away as I could as two of Barrow’s bony fingers reached out to run through my hair, “...beautiful...” he moved his hand away from me to instead run over Kira’s cheek, and I had to physically restrain myself from headbutting him to get him to stop, “...children.” His hand went back to hang at his side. “Who can make their eyes glow. And they do terrible, terrible things. The tagline on the poster read: ‘Beware the stare that will paralyze the will of the world’.”
Something seemed to change behind Barrow’s eyes. I had the feeling that the bomb was close to going off.
“Now, when I told everyone that I saw children with glowing eyes, they wouldn’t believe me!” Barrow yelled, causing Kira and I to flinch. “I tried to get them to do something! But...” he shook his head, “they wouldn’t budge. They wouldn’t move. As if they had been paralyzed.”
Barrow smiled as his eyes shone with determination.
“I am going to shake them out of their paralysis. I’m gonna get them moving. I’m gonna-” he cut himself off, leaning over to where he had tossed aside the exposed cord. Kira and I started shaking and tugging again, desperately trying to get out even though there was no use as he moved it closer towards us.
“I am going to galvanize them.”
---
Stiles
When arriving at the power substation Barrow used to work at, I pulled up the jeep next to Scott’s bike and exchanged a look with him before unbuckling my seatbelt and opening the door.
“Okay,” I said to Lydia who was seated in the passenger seat. “Wait here, all right? Just wait for the cops to come.”
I jumped out of the car, slammed the door shut and ran around it.
“Me? Wait, why?”
“I only got one bat,” I explained holding up my new metal-bat since the wood one broke.
Lydia raised her hand in defeat and I ran into the substation.
---
Valerie
A person entered the room, running. It was too dark for me to make out who they were, but Kira didn’t seem to have that problem.
“Scott! No! Look out!”
Barrow popped up behind him. Kira’s warning was enough to make Scott turn around, but nothing else. Barrow swiped the cords across his body. I didn’t quite see what happened, but it was enough for Scott to fall down on the ground. He laid there shaking and unable to move.
With Scott out of the way, Barrow turned to us.
“Don’t,” said Scott. “They’re not... they’re not the ones you want.”
Barrow ignored him. He pointed the cord towards us and started leaning down. I tried desperately to tug the wires lose, but there was still no use. Kira’s sobbing filled my ear, and my sight was blinded by the flow of sparks spilling out of the exposed cord. Barrow was even closer now. He put his hand on the back of Kira’s head and the cords came into contact with both of us.
But to my surprise, I didn’t feel any pain. It was quite the opposite. As the electricity soured through me, it transformed into pure heat that seemed to light a fire within me. A fire that had been waiting to be lit for sixteen years. The back of my eyes heated up, and suddenly I saw everything in the room with a blue glow.
I felt powerful. Extremely powerful. And it scared me to death. In that moment I could do anything I wanted to – hurt anyone I wanted to – and there wasn’t much stopping me from doing it.
I realized suddenly that I was standing, but I couldn’t remember ever getting up. Kira was standing beside me, the wires which were once tying us to the fence laid torn apart at our feet. The fuzes at the substation had exploded, killing Barrow in the process, and now glowing balls of electricity were making their way towards us. Half of them were transformed into heat and were absorbed by me, consequently fueling the fire within me and making me feel even more powerful. The other half stayed in their electric form as Kira absorbed them. Her hands were glowing white and the static electricity in the room made her hair stand up.
The last of the electricity was absorbed and the room went dark.

Stiles
“So, when did you get there?” Agent McCall, who was currently leaning against my dad’s desk, asked.
“At the same time,” I said.
“At the same time as who?”
“Same time as me,” said Scott.
“By coincidence?”
My brows furrowed. “What do you mean coincidence?”
A frustrated sigh escaped Agent McCall’s lips. “That’s what I’m asking you. The two of you arrived at the same time. Was that a coincidence?”
Scott’s brows furrowed. “Are you asking me?”
I mirrored his expression. “I think he’s asking me.”
“I think he’s asking both of you,” said Lydia.
“Okay,” Agent McCall interjected. “Let me answer the questions. You...” understanding of what he’d just accidentally said seemed to dawn over him, and he stopped what he was about to say.
Amused looks passed over the other people in the room, including Valerie who gave a slight cough that seemed to be hiding a snigger, and my dad, who had been sitting behind his desk this whole time. He had covered his mouth to keep from laughing.
Their respective reactions made a smug grin spread across my face.
“Let me ask the questions,” McCall corrected himself. I winked and pointed a finger gun at him. “Just so I have this absolutely clear. Barrow was hiding in the chemistry closet at the school. Someone left him a coded message on the blackboard telling him to kill Kira and Valerie. Then Barrow took them to a power substation and tied them up with the intent of electrocuting them, which blacked out the entire town.”
I nodded. “Sounds about right.”
“How did you know he’d take them to a power substation.”
“Well, cause he was an electrical engineer,” I said, like the fact was obvious. “So, where else would he take them?”
“That’s one hell of a deduction there, Stiles.”
“Yeah, what can I say? I take after my pops. He’s in law enforcement.”
This time a snort managed to make its way out of dad. Agent McCall looked back at him and he tried to cover it up by coughing. No one bought it.
“Stiles, just uh...” he said, trying his best to sound serious. “Just answer the man.”
“We made a good guess.”
Agent McCall turned his gaze to Scott and Kira. “What were the two of you doing?”
“Eating sushi.”
“Eating pizza.”
They turned to look at each other.
“Eating pizza.”
“Eating sushi.”
Agent McCall looked at them very skeptically.
“Eating sushi and pizza,” they said together.
McCall turned to my dad. “You believe this?”
He sighed. “To be honest, I haven’t believed a word Stiles has said since he learned how to speak.” The smug look made its way back to my face and once again, Valerie sniggered, but she didn’t bother hiding it this time. I looked over at her and we made eye contact for a brief moment before she looked away.
“But I think,” dad continued, “These kids found themselves in the right place at the right time, and those girls sitting over there are very lucky for it.”
“Kira, Valerie,” Agent McCall looked intently at the two girls. “Is that how you remember it?” Tension filled the entire room as all eyes were on them, silently asking if they were going to go along with our story. They exchanged a look that was hard to decipher. It was weird how in tune these girls were with each other already, even though they hardly knew each other. It was like they had a connection no one else had.
It became obvious what had passed between them though, when they looked away from each other and back at Agent McCall, nodding.
“Yes,” they said in one voice. They sounded so convincing that it was hard to imagine that McCall didn’t buy it.
“Can I get my phone back now?” asked Kira.
Agent McCall shook his head. “Sorry, but no.”
Kira and Valerie exchanged a worried glance that made me think there was something on Kira’s phone they didn’t want the police to see.
With everything set and done, we rose from the sofa in the Sherriff’s office and walked out. I was just about to speak to Valerie when Agent McCall interrupted.
“Kira, Valerie, a deputy is going to take you home, but we’ll need you to fill out some paperwork first.”
Well crap. Did the fates not want me to talk to this girl?
A deputy led Kira and Valerie to another room, so I decided to just wait outside until they were finished.
“Scott,” dad called out, “make sure he gets home.” Dad pointed at me.
Scott nodded. “Sure thing, Sherriff.”
“Wha-” I opened my mouth to protest but my dad interrupted me.
“It’s a school night.” And with that, he closed the door to his office. Scott turned to me, but I stopped him before he could do anything.
“I’m not going.”
“Come on, you can talk to her another time. It’s been a long night. Let her get some rest before you drop the bomb on her.”
“No. I have waited long enough, okay? I’m staying.”
Scott was doing way better in school now, but perhaps he needed some extra tutoring in English, because he didn’t seem to know what ‘I’m staying’ meant. He just grabbed me by the arm and started dragging me out of there.
“Okay, just cause you’re stronger- “

It’s always good to have another Steter fan onboard XD As for good fics, there’s a lot of them out there but I could give you some old favourites to get your friend started? For newere fics, you can check out the Steter Week 2019 ao3 collection, there’s plenty of gems there after the past week :)
(Mind the tags for some of these.)
Wake Me Up by ToAStranger
Stiles has been in a coma for six years. Now he’s awake.
To Save Them All by Goldenpetal13
AU, FutureFic/Re do of Season 1, Something happens, something bad, and Stiles finds a way to go back in time to change the past and save them all, to give them a future. He finds the way back and then swaps places with Scott and he gets bitten by Peter instead. Now he has to change the events that where set in motion after that event and maybe, just maybe they’ll all get to live.
Successfully Cheating Death (Twice) by veterization
Turns out, Peter’s resurrection wasn’t as permanent as expected. Unfortunately for Stiles, he wants to see Peter live.
Zodiac by Green
“You know, Taurus and Libra make a good match,” Peter says with a sly smile.
Stiles looks away. “Yeah. I looked that up, too.”
Feet on the Dash by veterization
It’s strange, because to the random unknowing passerby they’re just two friends, maybe even family members, taking a road trip in the middle of a sweaty, endless June, but Peter’s an ex-serial killer werewolf and Stiles is a little puny human who’s eating all the chips like Peter won’t rip his throat out if he eats the whole bag without sharing. The road trip part, however, is true.
Goddess Below by Unloyal_Olio
Peter sneaks into the vestal temple looking for a virgin. He finds Stiles.
steel bars and blood-slick hands by Corpium
When Deaton whisks Peter’s burnt, gasping body away to Eichen House, everyone else pays the price, Stiles most of all.
Whose Woods These Are by moonstalker24
Stiles chooses the house simply because it’s far enough out in the wilderness to be away. His… reticence for human contact on any given day coincides entirely with how much pain he’s in when he wakes up the morning. His patience is limited, and he has more bad days than good…
So Stiles moves into an old house out in the woods like a creepy serial killer. Reminds himself that other people suck on a regular basis and just sort of gets on with it…
It isn’t until after several sightings that Stiles realizes that the wolf is following him.
If the wolf decides it wants to eat him, Stiles would be a pretty easy meal….
This Could Be So Dirty That it Just Ain’t Right by taylorpotato
Ever since Stiles presented as an Omega, he hasn’t been feeling the same urges as his peers. When he’s around an Alpha that’s not Scott (who is pretty much his brother at this point), his first reaction is to shrink away, not try to press closer. Until he meets Peter Hale. Who acts like the most annoying, entitled kind of Alpha on the planet. Except he’s not one. He’s an Omega. Of course, Stiles would turn out to be every type of gay possible.
Beware of Sharp Memories by WhereDestiniesMeet17 (orphan_account)
She smooths his hair back, nodding. “Not everyone remembers the things we do,” she repeats.
-
Stiles is born able to remember all his past lives. After Claudia dies, he tries to forget all about his abilities. This makes things worse and better.
None of These Things (Are Happening) by Horribibble
After years away, Stiles returns to Beacon Hills just in time to put Isaac’s insides back where they belong.
It’s cute how people think he’s trustworthy.
-
Peter can smell the violence inside him, the urge to do something grand and possibly cataclysmic. It’s there—mixed with a balance and natural calm, but in the undercurrent, it’s there. He has seen things beyond the scope of Beacon Hills’ petty horror show. He has learned things.
Beyond The Shore by SmartKIN
When Peter Hale leaves Beacon Hills and moves into his family’s lake house, all he expects to find is solitude and freedom.
He definitely doesn’t expect the loud-mouthed, too-pretty-for-his-own-good merman who breaks into his house in the middle of the night, unable to curb his curiosity.
You’re Mine, Valentine by orphan_account
In which Peter decides to court Stiles, and does so by leaving him hearts.
Bloody ones.
These Hands that Shape and Hold the World by Elpie (Horribibble)
Before he inked his first tattoo, Stiles Stilinski had filled a dozen sketchbooks. Before he knew what he wanted to do with his life, Stiles Stilinski had a kid to take care of.
Before he threw in the towel completely, Stiles Stilinski met Peter Hale.
Life is made up almost exclusively of happy accidents. (And some really terrifying childhood memories.) But that’s okay.
(Really they’re all kind of morons, but the Buffy style asskicking doesn’t hurt.)
Waves that rolled you under by radishwine
AU in which Peter has the good sense to get the hell out of town after killing Laura. He drives up the Pacific coast to the old Hale cabin and stays for a while.
Night-blooming Flowers by imriebelow
Peter always gets what he wants. Stiles learns to live with it.
chasing tails by nezstorm
Peter was sixteen when he found Stiles.
it’s not the color i came in by nezstorm
Stiles is a bit of an anomaly among the Omegas he knows, or everyone on the spectrum really.
For him, heats are about comfort and safety, and not at all about sex.
A Challenger Appears by azerblazer
In his bed, Peter’s never wolfed out. Not even a hint of claws or teeth. The restraint of a born wolf whose had years of training.
Stiles is up to the challenge.
Fear (Doesn't Mean I Can't Fight) by azerblazer
Peter is the damsel in distress, the Sheriff is the hostage, random unnamed hunters are the bad guys.
Stiles has a bat, a hoodie and a willingness to do anything to protect those he's loyal to.
Bring it on.
The Terrible Things We Do (For Love) by rospeaks
Being a demon, he’s seen some of the pretty nasty things that humans are willing to do for love. Things that, were he still alive (and human), would make him hesitate to be in a relationship with anyone lest his partner start getting some funny ideas. That said—
"This seems a little desperate for a kid your age," he says to Stiles.
A welcome arrow by 1001cranes
The wedding is small and grim, because Stiles is being carted off to parts unknown, married to a thirty-something year old dude who wants to marry a seventeen year old dude - totally not creepy at all.
Be Still My Heart (I'm Only A Moment Away) by Ceris_Malfoy
She breaks all bounds that exist between strangers and leans her cheek against his burnt one, breathing steadily, heartbeat as rapid-fire as always. He wants to cry because it’s as close to the act of scenting as a human could get, and it both hurts and feels so damned good. He’s missed being scented, missed being able to scent back, and that makes him want to cry even more, because he can’t.
“If you were mine, I’d stay until the very bitter end,” she murmurs quietly, rapid-fire heartbeat never once giving off that betraying stutter that comes from lying, before pulling back and leaving.
