"What do you want to be when you grow up?" Peggy doesn’t lie to Steve when she tells the truth: a knight in shining armor.

"What do you want to be when you grow up?"

The tips of his ears are as red as his shield, Peggy's laughter ringing in his ears. Her laughter is a thing of joy, he hadn't heard it in quite a while with how cold and dreary the last few weeks had been.

Tonight is the first time in over a week that hadn't greeted them with rain. The fire they've managed to create is a blessing, it keeps the chill off of them and continues to lift their spirits.

"Steve," Peggy chuckled, cheeks tinted red from more than just their cold weather and the warm fire. "What are you playing at?" She waved her hand around them, to her current tactical outfit fingers tapping on the butt of her rifle that was within reach. "I like to think I have a grown-up job right now, don't you agree?"

She got a little bit of joy from seeing how the red stained his cheeks even more and how he was doing anything to prevent his foot from being inserted into his mouth.

Steve wasn't above rolling his eyes, childishly sticking his tongue out in her direction. "I'm not playing at anything, I'm curious, is all. You must not have wanted to be a spy your entire life. You do have a very grown-up job, but you knew what I meant."

"I assure you that I don't, Steve. I quite like my job, are you trying to get me to consider a career change?"
