the great irony of early one piece antagonists believing zoro was the actual captain and using luffy as a puppet ... oda really threw us a bone and curb-stomped it right in our faces. yes, zoro could be a captain in his own right. yes, zoro could match luffy in strength. yes, zoro knows this perfectly well. and you know what? he chose luffy two years ago, and he will continue to choose luffy again and again. roronoa zoro, the pirate hunter, who followed a wannabe pirate with a nonexistent crew on a whim because luffy brought him his swords and made a half-assed attempt at a bargain. zoro, who made a vow to never lose again on both his and luffy's honor. zoro, who told luffy he'd make him commit harakiri if he got in the way of zoro's goal, only to turn around and be willing to sacrifice his dream if it means that luffy reaches his. zoro, who stood in place and took luffy's pain and told a warlord to take his head instead of luffy's, who got down on his knees before his supposed rival and begged mihawk to mentor him so that he could return strong enough to protect his captain. zoro, who has conqueror's haki- a natural born leader- but chooses to stay at the right hand of a man he has deemed greater than himself.
and the thing that luffy fears most? being alone. being rejected. being left behind. and what should have been his foil- the pirate hunter to his pirate king, the nonbeliever to his divine, the king of hell to his sun god- instead becomes his first and most devout follower; the one who demands to follow him to hell and back. oughhhggg i'm sick to my stomach
The day of Suzume's first blind date had finally arrived and the person she met was Naoki Ito! During their walk to the restaurant, Suzume tried to engage in his conversations and asked questions about him. Naoki was happy to be given this much attention and felt attached to Suzume already. "He's a bit clingy..." Suzume said in her head then she heard a girl giggle behind them "Otosan?" His kids were there.
She had no idea what was happening to Naoki's marriage, but his kids seemed cheerful about both their parents and she got the impression he was happily married. In the nicest way possible she said it was best to end the date and stay friends (really she wanted to get out of there). And that was how the blind date was over before it even started 🫣
mildly frustrated at how many 'we need to talk about lizzie more' posts ive seen and the distinct lack of actual posts of art or writing about lizzie that ive seen cross my dash
like guys i thought we wanted to talk about lizzie and not the fandom's problems when is that happening
TAYUIN: I didn’t mean to avoid you. That is, I wasn’t trying to hurt you or make you think I didn’t want to be around you. I was just—
KYRIE: Avoiding the conversation. I know.
TAYUIN: But that was stupid, too.
KYRIE: Yes. But understandable.
TAYUIN: No, it isn’t. I know you’re not like that. You mean well and you don’t try to push me about things. Back in the cave, I know now you only said it because you wanted to help.
KYRIE: I said it because I didn’t understand.
TAYUIN: Maybe. But since then, you’ve been nothing but patient. Don’t think I don’t see that.
KYRIE: So it’s worth something to you?
TAYUIN: I do appreciate it. I just get a little confused. When people are kind to me, I always expect it’s with bad intentions. I don’t exactly know how to…
KYRIE: I know.
TAYUIN: I was afraid of telling you what happened with the witch because I didn’t want you to feel guilty. It was my choice. Just like taking the curse on was yours. You were in a bad way and I didn’t want to make things worse for you.
KYRIE: But it wasn’t easy on you, either.
TAYUIN: I don’t need you to worry about me.
KYRIE: I’m not asking permission.
TAYUIN: sighs I wish you were cruel. I know how to manage cruelty.
KYRIE: With all due respect, I hardly think “manage” is the right word.
TAYUIN: I’m alive, aren’t I?
KYRIE: Yes, you are. But not living. I wish you’d open yourself up to kindness. It’s a problem I want you to have. Learning to accept someone’s affection? Yeah. I want you to manage that.
TAYUIN: If I tell you, promise me you won’t blame yourself.
KYRIE: You don’t have to tell me—
TAYUIN: I want to.
KYRIE: Alright. I promise.
TAYUIN: The witch… She told me I can never be Chosen of the Sun. That even if I’m to somehow win, if I accept the mantle… you’ll die. So, no matter what happens, I can’t win. I can’t be the one. And if the Moon says otherwise, I’ll still refuse. My wish isn’t worth your life.
KYRIE: Tay…
TAYUIN: Whatever your visions tell you, whenever they come back, you have to pick someone else. I have to do everything I can to lose this—
TAYUIN: …why?
KYRIE: I feel a lot. That’s what kissing is for, isn’t it? When you… feel too much? I don’t know. I’ve never kissed anyone before.
KYRIE: I’m sor—
TAYUIN: I can’t.
KYRIE: Tay—
TAYUIN: I can’t do this. You should hate me. You will hate me.
KYRIE: I wouldn’t hate you. Why would you think that?
TAYUIN: When I said I didn’t get the letter yet, I was lying.
KYRIE: You…?
TAYUIN: You seemed so happy when you came to me, I didn’t want to be the one to ruin it. I wanted to spend the day with you, so I lied to avoid bringing it up. But I can’t let you go on like this. I can’t know when you don’t.
KYRIE: You… read it.
TAYUIN: I knew something was off the moment I saw it. I should have just given it to you, but I… It wasn’t my right to read it and I’m sorry, but I don’t regret it. Because I know that giving this to you will shatter everything, and I wasn’t ready to lose your smile. I’m sorry!
TAYUIN: Why? Why! Don’t you hate me—
KYRIE: I told you, I wouldn’t hate you. If our positions were reversed, I’d have done the same.
Setting: Utopia Re Future
Realms: x2 / Original Planet Earth & the Right Planet Earth
When: New Year, January 1st, Year 11527
Species: Humans
Characters: 54
Seasons: 1
Summary: There's a danger lurking in society that people have been trying to figure out for lifetimes. Every generation it strikes, it evades all minds, all jurisdiction, all super power enforcement; all power. There's a group of hoes who have been following this kind of tragedy for centuries. In hopes that when it strikes again; they'll be ready. A giant hope becomes something out of control. In the form of the Phenomenon, this time; it will strike down people born in year 11497. Yes, this humanity has been cursed by the Phenomenon for this long. What you need to know, this humanity is right. The most kind of humane there possibly is, so humane that there have been no world wars. No signs of ideology, no signs of tyrants, no signs of statues, no signs of pollution, no signs of inhumanity. It’s so good; it’s a paradise until those who are too popular, too powerful, too savvy, too involved, too indulgent, too selfish, too embellished & too prideful shows the direction of humanity falling. This time, the examples would be turning 30 years old this year. Not if the Phenomenon wants to keep humanity right. As they strike at the dawn of the new year, Lavurius (One of their many hunter legions.); uses a local coven to enact a Hail Mary to trap the energy. For the hope of possibilities; will they be able to survive the blood bath beginning of the new year?
Spell binders built a strong spell to lock them in the current city they have emerged in. They’ll be trying to figure out which individuals they are in order to try to stop the mass yearly murdering sprees. The story takes place in a city called Loudsend. It's located in Vermont. It's a city very much like New York, it has the Hexagon University of Prosperity & Starz Amusement Park. The Triangles of Fate hail from here as well & were used to trap the essence of the phenomenon. With the way they did it, it also trapped every super being within. No one’s fate is certain, no one is going down without a fight; the mayhem will be wild trying to figure out the culprits.
Books of 2024: NEVER WHISTLE AT NIGHT: An Indigenous Dark Fiction Anthology, ed. by Shane Hawk and Theodore C. Van Alst Jr.
This has a bunch of authors I already love in it (Stephen Graham Jones, Darcie Little Badger, Waubgeshig Rice, and Rebecca Roanhorse!!), and several authors I've been meaning to try (like Tommy Orange, Nick Medina, and Kelli Jo Ford, to name a few), so I'm really hyped for them all to be together in one volume! Plus dark fiction is very much my jam (especially when it comes in a bright and colorful package).
This post is a collection of facts and information about my original story universe, "Dreamflower", and the main storyline soon to be published on AO3, titled "May I Love You".
The post will be divided into sections under the cut, first section includes the basic synopsis and facts about the main characters and the environment. After each published chapter, any new characters introduced will get their own little section and a possible visual sketch of their character.
Dreamflower universe is very loosely based on my FNAF Animutant AU, but many things are made and flexed out to be so much different that this is a completely original story at this point, despite the main characters sharing some similarities with Sun and Moon from FNAF-
Humans have always been afraid of things they aren't familiar with. When a new type of subspecies of humans started to appear after the late 60's they were terrified. Theories of alien invasion or the devil's advocates taking over the earth slowly, members of this new species, Animutants, were denied regular human rights, and often forced to live outside major cities, or sometimes even killed as a form of funded euthanasia.
Solros Ellis is a young adult who, despite being a human, has never had an easy life. Growing up in extreme poverty, bullied until he dropped out of school, abused by his alcoholic father, Solros has only wished for freedom.
One morning, Solros wakes up to a new reality: he has turned into an Animutant overnight!
Learning what could possibly happen to him if he stays in the city, Solros runs away from his old life and meets Luan Costello, a guy of his age who was born as an Animutant, denied basic human rights and lived his whole life feeling like a burden to those around him.
With Luan's help and kindness, Solros is getting adjusted to his new life as an Animutant and healing those wounds his old life left on him.
Will the difficulties of being considered something less than a human bring Solros just another set of unfortunate events, or was his mutation written in the stars so he could meet with Luan?
The story takes place in a made-up country called Plutonia.
Plutonia is an island country. It has its own indepedence, but works as a constitutional monarchy under the English Crown, just like Canada.
On the world it's located underneath Newfoundland island, close to the North-East coast of the US.
Both Solros and Luan were born in Duskfort City. Solros lived there until his transformation. Luan's family lives up to the North in a small town called Bluebell.
You can read more facts about the country from here.
Luan Costello is an 18-year-old young man, who will soon graduate from high school, just waiting for his life to start.
Except he has never gone to a normal school, has no real friends and is haunted by the fact he feels like a burden to his loving family. There's nothing wrong in his life, other than the fact he was born as an Animutant and denied a lot of basic rights in human society. Yet, he feels like something is still missing. An opportunity, maybe love; something that would make his life have a proper meaning.
But he rarely leaves his house, doesn't spend time with people of his age, reads books and writes poems all day long. Is he really expecting his destiny just to walk up to his house and knock on his door?
Well, guess what...
I wonder what Kyoko would've thought of Shigure. She's the only non-Sohma adult who's also in his age group (albeit barely - she's about a decade older than him) and I feel like her optimism combined with her no-nonsense sensibilities would've been an interesting foil to Shigure's morally grayness hidden under a cheerful exterior.
They probably could have bonded over pursuing socially unacceptable relationships and being outcasts in their family (if Shigure was ever able to be even slightly honest with her, that is). I don't think they'd have hung out often, but in a Kyoko Lives AU where Tohru befriends Kyo and Yuki, it's likely they would've had to meet at least once or twice. I can't tell if they'd like each other or if it'd be more of a "polite acquaintances" sort of thing.
