Ladies, have you ever been considered ‘too much’ by family, supposed friends or even strangers? I have. From as early as I can remember I have been considered e.g.: too strong, too opinionated, too focused, too this, too that, too the other - and it used to bother me; like I was wrong somehow for being who I inherently am. Even my (now ex-)husband thought me too much, which was once especially hurtful. Until I caught myself on, following his midlife crisis implosion and abandonment of his children: perhaps I wasn’t too much. Perhaps he wasn’t enough. And perhaps on some level he felt this, which precipitated his midlife crisis? So now if I’m considered too much by others, I view it compassionately as a tacit admission they’re not enough somehow, and will either help them (should they ask me to) or walk away, as they’re clearly not my tribe, and I have never been too much for the tribe on my vibe.
