Please tell me about the single piece of foreshadowing takei tried to do and how it really didn't work

I recommend everyone sit and watch this before reading to really get the experience of me writing this post

to quote my past self, this scene (two pages actually) doesn't really work as foreshadowing because "I'm either too aromantic or yaoipilled to understand"

here's the pages in question btw:

so this scene is basically saying "having a family and support system will probably help your self hatred problem" like that's the goal. and unless takei is entirely incompetent (which he isn't) this is supposed to explain the Getting Straight Married thing

I might be too aromantic for this but not only is this scene vague as hell, it also immediately cuts to all the friends ren made throughout the manga. which is actually like, thematically relevant? with how the manga talks about loneliness and connection and how the demons he fears work?

the second way you can interpret this scene against canon is a lot less interesting it's just Why Are You Looking At Your Rival Like That, which is pretty self explanatory and also unintentional
