Opinions on Chuck and Taylor being gay for each other (since Chuck Taylor is a shoe brand and Mary Sue a stereotype and well Mary and Sue are dating.)
Also opinions on Donald Glover being a good potential voice cast for Taylor :3
WAIT I DIDNT EVEN CONSIDER THE CHUCK TAYLOR THING,,,,,, THATS ACTUALLY SO SMART.
Anyways yes I love Chaylor I think it's super cute!! As much as I love my ships being super complex, I do love pairings where I can just look at them and be like "<3", I do think Taylor puts up with a lot of stupid shenanigans from him though
Tumblr media
As the the voice headcanon Im gonna have to listen to more of his stuff bc I only remember him from Spiderverse 😭 I love hearing people's voice hcs though, it's very interesting!

24 books in 2024 📚
Thank you @notetaeker for the tag 🫶🏽
I don’t think it’s possible to read 24 books cause even last year I read only 18 🫠 but I’m gonna list a few I’m really interested in down here so I’m more motivated.
I’ve already read three so I think that’s a good start
1. The Six Crimson Cranes - Elizabeth Lim ✅ (5/5)
2. The Dragons Promise - Elizabeth Lim ✅ (3/5)
3. The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea - Axie Oh ✅ (5/5)
4. The Secret History - Donna Tartt ✅ (3/5)
5. The Inheritance Games - Jennifer Lynn Barnes
6. Project Hail Mary - Andy Weir ✅ (5/5)
7. One of Us is Lying - Karen M McManus
8. The Happiness Project - Gretchen Rubin ✅ (3/5)
9. Dare to Lead - Brene Brown
10. The Sealed Nectar - Safiur Rahman Mubarakpuri
11. Ten Myths about Israel - Ilan Pappe
12. Set Boundaries, Find Peace: A Guide to Reclaiming Yourself - Nedra Glover Tawwab
13. Reclaim Your Heart - Yasmin Mogahed
14. Secrets of Divine Love: A Spiritual Journey into the Heart of Islam - A. Helwa
15. Daughter of the Moon Goddess - Sue Lynn Tan ✅ (5/5)
16. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo - TJR ✅ (2/5)
17. The Murder of Roger Ackroyd - Agatha Christie ✅ (4/5)
18. What You are Looking for is in the Library - Michiko Aoyama ✅ (5/5)
19. Days at the Morisaki Bookshop - Satoshi Yagisawa ✅ (4/5)
20. The Remains of the Day - Kazuo Ishiguro ✅ (5/5)
21. A Tale for the Time Being - Ruth Ozeki ✅ (4/5)
22. The Bell Jar - Sylvia Plath done ✅ (1/5)
23. Jane Eyre - Charlotte Brontë ✅ (5/5)
I’ll leave the remaining 20 books upto my choice or for any random books I happen to stumble upon. This is the first year in like 11 years that I haven’t set a reading challenge on Goodreads for myself cause I just want to give myself more freedom and make reading more fun and less pressure. But this list is gonna help me prioritize the books I do wanna read :)
————————————
15.05.2024 Update
Read one book (no. 15) that wasn’t on the list initially and we have read a total of six books so far! Pretty happy with the progress. And also really enjoyed the ones that I did read. Maybe I should make an anon story graph account and share it on here.

Julie Carmen and Sam Neill in In the Mouth of Madness (John Carpenter, 1994)
Cast: Sam Neill, Julie Carmen, Jürgen Prochnow, David Warner, John Glover, Bernie Casey, Peter Jason, Charlton Heston, Frances Bay. Screenplay: Michael De Luca. Cinematography: Gary B. Kibbe. Production design: Jeff Ginn. Film editing: Edward Warschilka. Music: John Carpenter, Jim Lang.
A box office failure in its theatrical debut, John Carpenter's cleverly recursive In the Mouth of Madness has since gathered an enthusiastic following. I'm not one of the enthusiasts -- I find it much too frantic to be very scary, entertaining, or thought-provoking -- but I see what they like about it. It's partly a satiric look at the popularity of horror fiction and its movie spinoffs, centering on an obvious target: Stephen King. In the film, the horror writer is called Sutter Cane (Jürgen Prochnow), who lives in New Hampshire (next door to Maine, where King lives). Maybe to avoid any legal problems, the analogy is made explicit in the movie: King is name-checked several times. The other obvious horror writer target is H.P. Lovecraft, who isn't mentioned, but he's dead and can't sue. One reason for my discontent with In the Mouth of Madness is the miscasting of Sam Neill, who plays an insurance investigator who gets caught up in the search for Sutter Cane and his latest manuscript. Neill is one of my favorite underappreciated actors, but he seems all at sea here: Even his well-practiced American accent is sometimes clotted with his native New Zealand vowels. The role, which has a comic undertone, needs a more smart-alecky performer like Jim Carrey or Bill Murray. But then most of the cast -- including a cameo by Charlton Heston and a screen debut by Hayden Christensen as a paperboy -- is just along for the ride as the special effects and the plot kinks mount up.

#DoctorDonnathon Part 1 - Call To Adventure
On Friday 13th October 2023 I had a surprising email in my inbox. I'd entered the BBC's free competitions and ticket lotteries before, including a failed attempt at their Doctor Who Concert in September (as well as a wonderful evening at the Eden Project celebrating Cornish wildlife with Sue Perkins' Radio Four show Nature Table). So opening this invitation to the Series Four #DoctorDonnathon in London was a delight. At the time I had little idea what this actually meant, only that as a devoted Whovian (yes I like the term) I needed to go. As a Cornish Whovian, however, this meant this decision had a few caveats. How would I get there? Where would I stay? Would there be ample cream tea breaks?!
These questions hung over me, and as my personal calendar started to fill with other events and work, I felt more and more pressured over this opportunity. Sure, I have watched Series Four many times before, and at the end of November would be able to do so from home with the newest remastering available, but when was the last time I ever watched Doctor Who with an audience? One of my most treasured Whovian memories was watching City Of Death for the first time at the BFI for the Blu Ray release of Season Seventeen, and it was an INCREDIBLE experience. Seeing that wonderful adventure with fresh eyes with a welcoming crowd of enthusiasts made for an unforgettable experience (let alone the presence and insight of actor Julian Glover), but Series Four? What new lens could this endurance challenge of a screening grant me for the cost of travel and accommodation? At first I wondered if this viewing may be of the new remasterings, so I sent an email to the #DoctorDonnathon team, but understandably this technical question went unanswered. Even if it was, would seeing that on the big screen a few weeks before my copy arrived justify the 600 mile-round trip?
I sat and thought about where I was when this series first aired. Stand out memories from this time of airing include the agony of the two week break between Unicorn And The Wasp and Silence In The Library due to Eurovision, being blown away by Midnight with my cousin at my Grans, the weeklong speculation on TARDIS Wiki between The Stolen Earth and Journey's End, and sitting alone at a friend's birthday party watching Donna's memory be wiped. I also thought about the COVID-19 watchalongs, with the following of Russell T. Davies' tweets about The Stolen Earth/Journey's End being a particular highlight. Would the #DoctorDonnathon improve upon these memories and further enrich my appreciation for this stellar series?
With those thoughts in mind, I decided that the trip simply wasn't worth it. I love Doctor Who, and this month is going to be FILLED with excitement, anticipation and surprises - I didn't need any more. As I was writing my email to the team to decline the invitation, however, I thought back on my City Of Death viewing. Was it really the experience of seeing a new episode that made that day special? We are lucky enough to be living at a time when RTD has all but guaranteed new Doctor Who annually for the next few years, and every time I watch a new episode it is always an event regardless of the final outcome. But that viewing was special for another reason - the fans. I have friends who watch Doctor Who down here - friends I can talk to about the show for a good two minutes at a time. My best mate and my cousin can both hold fort for a while, and I love them both dearly aside for their passion for nerdiness, but I worry I bore them to a degree. But Doctor Who FANS are exceptional. I remember standing in line at Forbidden Planet in April 2018 to meet RTD and Steven Moffat and having so many great discussions with fellow Whovians (yes I'm sticking with it). I remember meeting Dominic G. Martin outside the BFI and taking a selfie with him after commending him on his cosplay and new producing role on the Peladon set with Big Finish. I remember sending a message of thanks to Fio Trethewey during the first virtual Quiz of Rassilon for their awesome artistic contributions to the fandom (including their brilliant badges which I have several of), and since then have had the joy of following their transition journey online (congratulations on the recent surgery if you ever see this!)
Simply put - Doctor Who fans are awesome. Worth any journey. And if it takes having to sit through one of the best runs of Doctor Who episodes in a row to have to spend time with them, then I guess I'll have to do just that.
    See you on November 4th!
Cornish TARDIS #DoctorDonnathon

LIAFF SPECIAL #14: Upfronts 2024 - Amazon e Disney
Tumblr media
CBS/NBC/FOX
Riscopriamoli assieme:
youtube
Tumblr media
Altra serie annunciata da Amazon è Spider-Man Noir, personaggio Marvel già apparso in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse e noto ancor prima dai fumetti del 2009. A dargli il volto sarà Nicolas Cage, già doppiatore del personaggio in Into the Spider-Verse e la storia sarà molto simile a quella fumettistica, che vede un investigatore privato anziano lottare contro il crimine nella New York degli anni '30.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media

We had a lovely evening at Memoria Denbighshire joining in with their Christmas Memorial Service. There is something very poignant about these services where we remember our loved ones and share our stories of them. Thank you Nan, Sue, Dave and Aled for going above and beyond once more. And thank you to Canon John Glover, John London-Few, Ifan Edwards, Steven Hughes, James Marton and Morris Funeral Directors who all made the evening so special.
