Reflection Summative

Self reflection This quarter was a thrilling experience.Many of my perspectives and ideas changed gradually over the weeks.For instance,at the beginning of this unit I used to think reputation doesn’t matter as long as you are a good person with an outstanding personality,as character is what you really are while reputation is what people merely think of you. However many of my views changed when I posted about that fact that we should care about our reputation to a certain extent .I had to change the belief inside me ,which was tedious initially but something I got used to eventually. I have taken part in many of the class discussions and proved to my classmates an incomplete world without justice by stating specific examples such as mentioning the court room scene where Mary Warrens is being accused for something she has not encountered.The crucible was one of the main reference that helped me understand the theme of justice and reputation better.Tumblr has enhanced my writing experience as it works better for me than writing on paper.The auto spell correct works very well in order to check your spelling.Through tumblr, I have acquired critical analysis skills ,whereby I post a picture and relate it to the theme/idea ,I will be discussing in my post.For instance,I posted a picture of die and water and related it to my post that talked about reputation.In my post,I stated the fact that reputation is like die and water and metaphorically compared it by stating that a tiny little drop of dye can change the color of the large quantity of water,just like how people ignore all your characteristics and centralise on your reputation, thus tarnishing your reputation for life .I enjoyed doing the week 5 topics about connecting reputation with a real life circumstance.I also enjoyed doing the week 7 posts because it was all about arguing and persuading ,which is what I love a lot.Using technology in my opinion is better than writing/reading from a paper.I would have never bother to read the posts if Ms Chloe would have printed it out for me.Checking my classmates posts on tumblr makes me enthusiastic and works as an introduction before I post my posts.I think I excelled in the justice act this quarter.I put my hundred percent effort on it.My efforts went drawing the drain when I came to know that it was formative .I think my acting skills improved and I discovered that I can express myself through acting..I worked very hard in the three paragraph argumentative analysis by comparing a book and a movie, and achieved fruitful marks .=( I should improve my sentence writing skills ,as the structure of my sentence is too long and I put a lot of comma’s ;even in places that they’re not needed.

Peer Reflection Tumblr posts were way more interesting,specific and formal tether than listening to opinions in class.For instance,at the beginning of this unit I used to think reputation doesn’t matter as long as you are a good person with an outstanding personality,as character is what you really are while reputation is what people merely think of you .However,I realized I was wrong after reading some of my classmate’s posts such as Anusha’s ,Pamela’s and many more.I learnt a life lesson ! Reputation is significant but only upto a certain extent.One should really care about their reputation .Taking part in collaborative discussions resulted in a great method to share ideas .I adored my classmates’s diverse views on topics such as Impact of Social media,difference in understanding the theme while using two different mediums upon hearing the discussion we had at class.I would have not learnt all these facts as I’m a visual learner and tumblr aided e with all the pictures and the posts.I don’t like it when your working in a group and it becomes cumbersome to meet for all the members who work with the group.I love the teamwork and unity when it comes to group work .It lessens the burden as you can equally divide the work amongst the members.The quality of the work and creativity takes up a new turn while your’e working in a group.Accomplishing your work in groups becomes a lot more easier than working individually .For instance the editing and casting the play would have been impossible to achieve without my group’s hundred percent dedication.I think the play was the biggest success as all the group members were satisfied and enjoyed it thoroughly.

Looking at people's posts , looking at yours , wont you stop and think about it? I believe some people's ideas are never spoken, just hidden inside them. When we first started tumblr , some people struggled and someone didn't know what they should write or how to use it. Day by day they started improving more and more. When it came to oral presentations , compared to what they did in tumblr about the justice , reputation and social media its way more different then what they said. Its hard to express yourself infront of everyone than in social media. I believe in what they say on tumblr more than what they say infront of everyone , its something i believe in. I liked how me and the girls shared our ideas together , we could argue ,we could agree and we could just waste our time by talking about it. What I'm really scared of it is what if they stole my idea no one really had it? wont that effect me? Because I'm the one who really came with this idea? Its just something i don't like to do it or been done to me. I've really worked hard for the play and tried to do my best but if they couldn't help me , i can't help them. Next time i should encourage them or just tell them to leave the group. I never really did well in group work , they didn't help me and i got effected by it. I've this idea now that group work is a bad idea but after seeing other groups i knew its just us. Themes , repeating themes since seven weeks made me empty my mind with informations and got bored. I would really love to stay on tumblr but with different themes every week.

The Tumblr posts allowed us to be more expressive, as opposed to presenting them orally, so it was more effective and persuasive.  We were also able to elaborate about our ideas.

I like working with other people because I get to hear different ideas and get inspired to think of my own. What I don't like is when my group-mates don't share opinions and just sit back. I could be more serious in groups because usually we don't think too much of it then we end up being unproductive. I think I did especially well in getting involved in the Justice play by writing some of the script and by playing my part in the skit.

Peer Reflection

Not many people participate during class discussions that much, including me, so I don't really get to hear people's opinions during class time however on Tumblr I am subject to many different ideas, and opinions that make me feel, how come I didn't think of that, or that's a pretty good idea.

I really like to participate along with my peers, as work can be divided among the group members and I don't have to do all the work on my own.

I don't like it when people disagree with me, as when I say something I want everyone to agree, so I need to work on my behavior, and learn to appreciate the fact that different people have different opinions.

Usually when In a group I tend to waste time, talking with everyone, and litte work is accomplished. So time management is essential when working in a group so that is a skill we all need to build. While working in groups for the rewriting of the scene, I really worked very hard, I was dedicated, and I put in a lot of effort while writing my part  of the script, so I am proud of my performance.

Overall, I think group work is fantastic, as it gives you a chance to work with the people other than you are used to, and opens you up to a whole new variety of ideas and opinions.

Self Reflection

When i started using tumblr , i really didnt like the idea using it in class. I thought its more likely to be used in our free time or use it at home. Day by day i realized its not just about reblogging pictures and seeing other people's pictures , but its also about showing the world your opinion. For those who agrees could reblog your post and spread it around the world and share your ideas or even like the idea. I thought first reputation is something we should take care of it and never ask why , just doing what I'm supposed to do without asking questions. I was proven to be wrong by other people's opinions, I've read what they posted and they gave me strong evidence why should I take care of it or i shouldn't. One of the quotes i read was " It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it . If you think about that , you'll do things differently" by Warren Buffett. I've asked myself , what will people say about me when no longer exist? When I'm no longer one of them or surrounded them? Do I have to take care of it or i shouldn't? People sharing their opinions and made it clear for everyone why they should or shouldn't and it really made me find the answer. I never really did participate in things I'm not interested in , like books and news and other stuff. Since the topic was tumblr and its kind of my passion , i started sharing my opinions because its something i use it everyday. When the teacher said express yourself of what you feel about justice or reputation , i automatically went on tumblr and wrote what i feel. Tumblr made me show the people what i believe in and it made me write it clearly and understood to persuade people and let them believe what i believe in. Many people find it hard to talk about what they feel about so they write it in their social page and other stuff. If I've been told to stand up now and tell them what i feel , i would just say what everyone did not what i believe in. It makes the writer express himself and makes the reader gets interested in the topic, its always going to be different when you type and when you write. I really think i did well on tumblr since i know how to express myself and write better in social network. I really need to improve my oral presentation because i panic a lot , get confused and find it hard to express on myself. Its something you've to work on it but i find it hard.

Self Reflection

Over the course of this unit I realized how significant social media is in our daily lives. Before, I thought social media was just used to communicate with your friends and family, but as I saw the different examples made by my classmates I realized that it can also be used in business and spreading news.

Whenever we discuss collaboratively, I try to contribute as much ideas as I can to the group. When we were paired up my group-mates are usually reluctant to share or just fooling around. To avoid awkward silences and unproductive discussions, I start the conversation to encourage other people to pitch in.

Tumblr aided me in my writing because it allowed me to express my opinions freely and I was able to be as creative as I could be -- through articles, pictures or songs. It was also very enjoyable for me to scroll through others' posts because it was quick and accessible. Kind of like news in social media, I didn't have to look for them, they found me.

I think I did well in some of the tumblr tasks, mostly the ones about the reputation because that's the topic I feel most strongly about among the others. I also think my group did a decent job with our Justice play because the class seem to have enjoyed it as they laughed and were engaged in the presentation. I think I could have improved with my Book vs. Movie analysis in class. I struggled to identify the difference in the way the theme was presented in The Crucible and The Devil Wears Prada.

Self Reflection

Working on Tumblr this quarter was actually quite cool, I have learned many new things and was able to share my ideas with the class, as well as being able to see what others have to say on a topic. By using Tumblr the way I think about a matter have changed, at first I wasn't really that specific when stating my opinions, I believed that what I was trying to say was understandable by everyone, but after reading posts that I didn't undertand, I realized that in the same way that I'm not understanding someone's post, people would be finding it hard to understand me as well. This caused me to be more specific when writing something. During the quarter we were asked to do many persuasive posts where we were asked to persuade the reader to think the way we do, at first I found it difficult but then later on I got used to it, and learned how to persuade an audience, this can be done by writing out clearly what you believe and stating firmly why you belive so, an example of this would be the week 7 posts that I have done. Tumblr has really helped me improve my writing especially when persuading someone. The fact that we are using Tumblr to share our ideas is a main contributing factor that led to the improvement in my writing. When I look at paper I feel kind of sleepy and I can't really think that much, so Tumblr was really helpful, I am really proud of all the work I have put onto Tumblr, much thought was gone into each post that resulted in a fairly good outcome. I do feel that there is always room for improvement, so I could improve my writing to make it more effective and for it to have an impact on the reader.
