This past weekend, my dad and I traveled to Orlando, where I spoke at the Florida Literacy Association annual conference. What a blessing it was to be able to share my new inspirational autobiography with the conference attendees. The highlight of the conference was speaking at the author luncheon. What a joy it was to share part of my story and to read a vignette from my book as well. Sharing the experience with my dad made it even more special! Additionally, I also gave a presentation on my Read the Label instructional strategy, which helps students understand the real-world applications of reading.
