Dear author god,oh how you have fed us well, but yet. We crave more, and we desire more. It is time. Give us the confession. We will be counting on you and expecting greatness. May you give us the most bountiful feast to finally satiated. 👁👁 do let us down, our dear author god,we believe in your magnificence.
"YUÁN FÈN!!"
Your voice echoed in the Land of Those Memories, alongside the flash of the two weapons. The barrier prevented everyone to move in in the fight; even Bajie couldn't do anything but watch impotent the duel between the Destined One and the broken Shell of the Stone Monkey.
The truth was already too hard to digest, but tò accept that your beloved Yuán fèn was fighting to become fully the new Sub Wukong, which was beyond your liking.
The shield that prevented you from getting in, wasn't the Bián huá made to assist the Destined One?! Why some old ruler granted One to the Destined One if they couldn't assist him at the right time?!
"Child," the eldest spoke, "this is not something that you can take. Your duty is done; now you just had to watch."
"NO!"
Your voice was cracking; you kept pushing through that barrier, to the point that it even hurt. Your hands, fueled with your energy, clashed against it, generating a screech where the impact began.
"I'm done watching! I won't leave him! He needs him; he always does! I won't let a stupid old monkey kill him!"
Bajie suddenly reached you, trying to take your away, but it was like you were made of stone.
"Y/n stop! Your hands! Look at your hands!"
You didn't care of your hands; you didn't care that the fiction of the two powers was scratching your skin so hard that the pure flash was exposed. You didn't care that the same energy was burning your flesh, that your tips were coming off one by one, that the smell was unbearable, and that the dripping blood was making the water red. You didn't care about yourself; you cared about him.
With that thought in mind, something happened. What you remember is that at some point some crack appeared, and a huge flash engulfed you.
You don't know many things. After that, just two pair of eyes watching you—one that remebered you the ember of a fire, the second one that was full of the worry as you.
When you woke up, the fight was already over. The smell of your burnt flesh, the blood that was still flinging from your wounds, your head that was burning like he'll—everything seems confused. Bajie was there, trying to wake you up from your state, telling you to go, to go away before the exit was too late.
In your pain, an image struck you: Yuán Fèn kneeling, the elders with something in his hands, the sun setting, making it look almost like a scene from a movie. The last ray of sun illuminated something that made your blodd freezer like ice.
That damn circlet.
"N...no!"
Despite the protest of Bajie and your own body, you stand up. Every step hurt, every movement was like hell, but you just couldn't stop.
"You... you don't have tò...bare his name...you don't owe him nothing!"
The elder, holding the circlet, looked at you with sympathy. Yuán Fèn didn't even move, stuck in a trance that something had cast on him.
You stumbled a few times, the waves that you made punk from the blood, yours, and of the precious fight.
When your body gave up, you collapsed on his back, your trembling hands trying to embrace him and wake him up.
You cried, tears and blood mizing together.
"You did this...you made this...you're my Yuán fèn...you're my friend...and I don't want to go back to a world where you're not in it...I..."
What is freedom if not the right to choose?
" ...I..." Your hands trembled, scratching that damn golden armor.
What is freedom if not the chance to obtain what his heart desires the most?
"I...GODDAMIT! I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU, YOU STUPID IDIOT! YUÁN FÈN I LOVE YOU!"
What is freedom to not stay with the one he loved?
His eyes glowed more than the sun that was disappearing in the horizon. His staff blasted away from every eye's view that damn circlet. The elder, in his calmness, seemed pleased.
He couldn't deel him anymore in your arma, but you were ingulfed in his own, strong and warm, capable of destroying and protecting you at the same time.
"I love you! I love you too!" His voice cracked, and tears started to erupt from his hips and eyes too. "I'm Sorry! I don't know how to bring you home! And... I don't think... I don't think I wanted too."
"It's allright!" Your smile was enough to warm his heart; your own tears shone with the sunlight. "Where are you supposed to go if you're not with me?"
"Say it again! I want to hear you again! Please!" He pleaded, holding you like your world was ready to claim again.
"I love you! I love you, I love you, I love you."
His lips stopped your mantra, and you didn't need to keep it up because your lips met his own speed, holding him so close.
Your tears, your blood, everything merged in that veil of memories. And so, under the eyes of friends, celestials, and the world itself, two souls had claimed each other.

PhoenixEclipse AU - Summery
AU Summery - In my AU both Wukong and Macaque are sealed under the mountain caged behind a great stone gate carved with enchantments and thick golden chains. They get into several arguments but remain a couple (they are a couple here).
They are freed by The Monk Tripitaka who is accompanied by Quan Yin and my OC Phoenix who is helping the Monk for her own gain, not to complete his journey but because they are heading in the same direction. Quan Yin immediately puts the rings on their heads because otherwise they would have killed the monk immediately.
Initially they hate Phoenix because she is helping the monk. However over time as she defends them from the circlets and heals the injuries they bring, they begin to take a deep liking to her. They don’t know what she is but they begin to want her, and well demons are known to be selfish, especially these two demons. Once they realize their feelings for her they basically flip a switch from snapping and yelling at her to flirting and protecting.
Note: I will admit that I was inspired by SemiSolidMind, their Bad End Wukong and Twice as Bad AU. It is NOT THE SAME as their AU but I took inspiration from it.

I literally grew up watching DBZ on Toonami reruns as a kid.. and it’s got me thinking…..
The Destined One (if you fight you know who to get the True Ending) receives Sun Wukong’s memories, but is clearly still his Own Self.. he gets to keep his individuality but now he has the knowledge and wisdom of Daddy OG Wukong’s previous experiences…
But what if….. it worked like a Namekian absorption fusion? Like with Piccolo and Nail?
like The Destined One literally Has OG Wukong chattering away in his head like a little subconscious Jiminy cricket.. but with more quips Less guidance and WAY more Shit talking.
((Oh God, this thing is so breaking funny?! Like WHAAAAAA?Okay, okay, let me spice it up a little. Beware, slighty suggestive at some point))
After the Memories of Sun Wukong were bestowed on him, he became the new Sage (to the dismay of the Celestial Court). Everything seemed pretty fine with Yuán Fèn. He was strong; everybody accepted him as the new Monkey King, and his wish was to live happily ever after with you.
At first, it was just a small thing—a small voice that he heard from time to time. Just like when you think that someone is calling you and then nothing! He blamed the successful events; he not even needed to let you worry about!
While he was stirring his own tea, sitting under the tree at your side, he heard it again.
"Young one!"
He stiffened his neck, looking around, but he came back to his tea. No one was calling him; it was the fifth time that day. How strange...
Then, things started to get REALLY strange. He started to hear full sentences, or after he had responded to them, he even received another remark!
"I can't believe you defeated my stone self with that stance."
"I can't believe that I'm turning into some kind of demented monkey with the old save powers."
"I HEARD THAT!!"
He suddenly loosed his own balance and started you and other young monkeys.
He thought he could handle it; he could handle a god as Erlang; he could handle this too!
He couldn't be more wrong.
"You look awfully tried. Are you sure you're sleeping well?"
He just nodded, just hoping that the Great Sage could spare him some sleep in the afternoon from his continuous blabbering.
At the end, he finally confessed everything to you. It was noble to know that he didn't want to obligate you to handle this thing with him, but instead you simply accepted it.
After all, you were soon to be King and Queen; you wanted to share his burden!
"Sooo...what does he say? About me, I mean..."
Yuán Fèn stayed silent, expecting something from the voice in his head.
"Umm...nice hips! She's going to bear a lot of kids, young one!"
"He said you're okay."
Things started to get strange when Yuán Fèn started to actually see him.
He almost had a heart attack the day that he saw him, and oh my, if he wished to get rid of him.
You believed that it wasn't such a big deal; Wukong must have been a rational creature to leave your privacy alone! ....Wrong.
The sound of your sigh and panting emitted in your small abode. The only source of light is a small candel, near the end of it.
His hands held your hips, while your lips kept on caressing his cheeks, leaving kisses and small bites. He tried to restrain a laugh, but the rumble in his chest took it away.
"Did you like it?"
He mewled, his tail moving restless around.
"I don't know him, but do I enjoy the view!"
Yuán Fèn suddenly screamed, making you fall from his hips, causing you to hit your head in the side of the bed, exposing in that motion your chest to the ceiling and to an invisible monkey that only the young one could see.
"W-WHAT THE -"
"DO YOU MIND?!"
"Uh, uh, uh, you should mind that boner in your thoughts! I think she would love to take care of that!"
And, while your lover tried to protect you from a pair of eyes that wasn't even there, you started to feel your desire and passion slowly fade away.
Things didn't get better, and now frustration started to get attached to you, like some kind of parasite. You were fed up, he was fed up, and Wukong... he couldn't find the situation more amusing.
"Am I in front of him?"
"Yes?"
"What does he do?"
"He's just...staring, just staring."
You clear your throat, while, only for Yuán Fèn, the old sage gave another bite to the peach, looking at the small human that was acting all big in front of him. You took enough control, and finally.
"Sun Wukong... I need to fuck, like for real. Leave us alone for... I don't know, 48 hours."
In his head, the poor monkey felt the great sage equal to Heaven laugh like never before.

You made a mistake giving me free range in this house, good luck getting rid of me!
Also may I request more of the destined one from black myth wukong please? Pretty please, wonderful and merciful author god?
The beginning
"We're not in Kansas anymore."
At first, your first idea was that you weren't actually being hit by that car. Maybe you were able to jump away, ending in some brushes near the street. That seemed the most reasonable reason! And hitting a tree would have been the reason why your head hurt so much! Everything seemed pretty normal!
Except you weren't near the road that you were usually crossing to get to work. To be fair, you seemed to be far away from every form of human civilization from the look of it.
Your surroundings seemed to be a lavish forest, with trees and plants that covered every spot of the area. From down, notable under the canopy of the trees, the peaks of mountains were so high that just the view gave you a small dizziness.
Everything could have been almost normal: a forest, some mountains, the singing of the birds, and the insects in the distance. A completely normal green environment!
Except for two Very important details: First, you were sure that your work was in the city, not in the mountains; two, those plants weren't nothing that you ever saw in your life.
You tried to control yourself; the last thing that you needed was a pabick attack in the middle of nowhere. There's had to be a reasonable answer to everything!
Your headache didn't help at all; you felt like something was clearly wrong and your body was screaming, and despite that, it seemed like you had no injuries, which was strange since a car had crashed into you.
You tried to find any answer to your question when you felt... something.
Suddenly, it seemed like a breeze of wind had gently moved to you, a silent and calm gale that entered your lungs, helping you to recover some stability.
It was like a stream, the water touching you and pulling you.
You didn't hear anything calling you; you felt it. In your head, in your soul.
That strange moment suddenly ended, leaving you puzzled and lightheaded. It was just then that you noticed a path, a small track between the trees and the plants, made by the continued footsteps of who was living there.
You looked around. The light of the day was silently making space in the darkness of the night, and by the look of the place, hungry wolves were the last of the troubles.
With an inch of courage and with the encouragement of that feeling in your chest, you began tracking the path in front of you, leaving the security of the clearing at your back.
Despite being in an unknown place with no idea of how you even got there, you had to admit that, wherever you were, it was beautiful.
Around you, plants had grown to the point to reach the branches of the trees, with cascades of flowers that gave colors to the monochrome forest. When the wind blew across the trees, birds fell to the ground, creating a colorful snowflake kind of effect. In the highest branches, fruits as big as a head are grown, relishing amazing perfumes, fresh, and sweets. Not far from there, you were sure to hear the sound of a waterfall and a river.
If it was really a dream, then it was very beautiful. You wondered where you had seen such a place to dream it like this...
You sensed some movements up above your head, and after realizing what it was, you thought that being confused was normal, but remembering that everything was just an illusion put you at ease.
"Monkeys. Of course, why not? Monkeys are fine!"
So you ignored the full fact of the presence of those animals, alongside their curious looks at you.
While the dizziness seemed to be finally at bay, the strange sensation that had catched you at the beginning seemed to get stronger instead. It was strange; despite being unsure of where you were, you felt like something was dragging you in a certain direction. Maybe it was your head, maybe the fact that the only thing more similar to a road was that small trail, covered in perals and leaves, with rocks around here and there, but it was there and you wanted just to avoid it.But it's hard to avoid something that's it getting stronger.
You don't know how long you took, but you ended up in a mother clearing; the only difference was a small structure.
Made of simple rock, they were shaped into rectangular structures to create a small, strange house. The pot in front of it with some incense sticks gave out the origins and use of the small structure: It was a shrine, but they were usually found in Asia. Why was it there?
Everything was just confusing and strange. Now, come to think of it, the plants that surrounded you... Did you have the idea you had seen them before because those were in some art book or in a few about China? That was oddly specific as a dream.
Suddenly, the sensation came again, this time followed by sounds—real sounds. Someone was moving between the bushes; their footsteps were making sound between the dirt and the rocks.
Even though it was a dream, you still wanted to ask for some direction. And if it was, there was supposed to be nothing to fear, right?
Something was coming towards you, still unclear to your eyes, but your heart was racing. That feeling was almost reacting to whomever was approaching you, giving you goosebumps, your stomach twisting, and your breath stuck in your throat.
It was coming near, approaching the light. You found some voice in you.
"I'm Sorry! Please, I need help. I think I had an accident! Please, I Need AH!"
You lost your voice again, the figure finally emerging from the shadows of the trees, and... No, no, maybe it was your eyes; maybe it was some kind of hillness, and your face and reaction were one pretty rude way to see something like that. He was covered in furr... No hair!
Yes! You saw on TV something like that!
The strange was silent, observing you. He was less curious about your looks, much more about your attire.
Yes, it was that... but his... feet? He was moving bearfoot, strange but not that strange, but...those look like hands! What kind of deformity was that?!
He came closer; he seemed nervous. One hand on his chest, like to monitor his own heartbeat, just like his own was acting strange like yours.
Ok, he was... he was a poor, deformed man! Yes, you were such a terrible person, acting all strong about acceptance and then getting a heart attack for... was that a tail?!
He started to circle you; you couldn't take away your eyes from him, like vice versa.
He was... a monkey. A monkey dressed in some human clothes, holding a staff—less a normal thing that a monkey would do, and he was... studying you?
You tried to follow him, moving at his own pace to avoid giving him your back. He was... Just curious, interested in this mortal. And little did you know that he had that feeling too.
"I...i-i...i'm Sorry, I Just-"
You fail to notice the movements of others, and you fail to hear the small noises too. When you felt something tugging at your jacket—a small monkey, tall as a three-year-old—you realized that you both were surrounded.
"You talk strange, miss! Hehe, you look funny!"
Surely, collapsing for the stress is not normal in the dreams.
///
Waking up was harder than you thought. Not only had your headache for the worst, but now you were again in some new place.
By adjusting your eyes, you found out that you were in what seemed the insider of and followed the tree. The bed, what you assumed was a bed, was a mass of grass and leaves put together and then sealed in some fabric—something maybe found somewhere, cleaned, and adjusted to the best that it could.
Around you, several small eyes were curiously witnessing your wake from your fainting of before, whispering things and chucklings.
"Look! She waking up!"
 "She's not dead at all!"
"Older Brother! Older Brother! The funny miss is alive!"
Around you, several monkeys were jumping and moving around, avoiding the bed and staying a good distance from your still-recovering frame. Talking monkeys, of course, talking monkeys are pretty normal after a good concussion.
By sitting up, you tried to understand the meaning of everything that was happening, avoiding the possibility that this wasn't a dream after all.The small creatures, some weren't that small at all but as tall as some young men, were now taking advantage of your wakening to question you about... everything. You were quite new here...
A pair of feet marched, moving vigorously towards you. Everyone made some space for the monkey that, you realized, was the one that you met before. He kneeled, looking at you in your eyes, which was easy; you were in such a shock that you couldn't even avoid him.
"Forgive my younger siblings; they can be handfull... Are you all right?"
You didn't say anything. Just moved your head in some assent, despite being sure that you weren't okay.
"You have everyone scared! I was forced to bring you here on my back."
He kept on talking. He seemed quite a kind... simile. And even so, you kept on looking at him, like when you were looking at some videos of people eating so much food that you wondered if it's fake or not. You simply couldn't avoid it, and you wondered when you would finally wake up in front of that strange dream.
He stopped only when, from the doorframe, a hole covered in some more sheets, a Curves figure, wearing white, entered the scene.
His fur, once maybe in snow white, was now of a silver tone; his limbs seemed ready to collapse on their own, and his face was covered in wrinkles. He was old, very old; his robes and pearl necklace made him look like some kind of monk or something. When he moved, the other youngest ones lowered their heads, showing respect given only to the elders.
"The youngers told me about a human on our mountain...yet, I imagined some lost merchant or a pilgrim...not a fine-yoing lady, of course! I would say, What a lucky day for us."
He chuckled, his voice calming, despite the old age.
"But...something tells me that...your not from these parts...no?"
The younger monkey, the one in front of you, felt that the elders know more than the others now, especially under that facade of ignorance.
"I...i...ugh, this must be a dream. You are...monkeys! Talking monkeys!"
You suddenly stand up from the bed, almost losing your balance; finito wasn't for the monkey, giving you his hand for balance. The elders kept similing, not so surprised by your outburst.
"If It Is a Dream, then...why are you feeling pain in your legs? I did not hear of people collapsing in their own dreams!"
He kept chuckling, ignoring your confused stare. It was like he knew everything; he just wanted you to get the answer on your own. You, on your side, were trying to avoid that answer, even though it was now becoming everything far too clear for you to hold it together.
"... it's not real."
"Oh, I'm real as much as you are!"
"The car hit me! I'm in a coma!"
"I heard people like you saying things like this. They turned to ending their own life, and we were left with a new thomb."
"......"
You couldn't ignore it any longer. You could even feel the furr of the strong monkey arm under your skin, the feeling of the dirt where you collapsed, and the smell of the place. You were... somewhere.
"...w-where am I?! How did I end up here?!"
"You," he continued, "are now at our home, Mount Huaguo, away from the chaos of the Yaoguais and the men. How did you come?..."
He interrupted himself, looking back at the two of you. He gestured to follow him, outsider of the small nest in the tree.
The fresh air of the night entered your nose, mixed with the smell of the trees and fruits. The sun was disappearing into the horizon, leaving space for the moon and the stars, already blinking in the pale pink-colored sky. Around you, several other trees were slowly glowing, showing several houses of more monkeys, some curious about the humans in their mountain, others too busy with their own tasks to care.
"Where are my manners... I'm the elder one. Us monkeys never needed a name, and never someone gave us one. This young one here," he pointed to the other monkey, who still kept following you, "is one of my warriors. And you... what's your name, dear?"
"...i-i'm y/n..."
"Um...well dear, as much as I can say about your arrival... I say that I have an inch about it."
You sighed. He talk in riddles; why has it got to be riddles?!
His small eyes darted from you to the young male.
"Tell me, how did you find each other? It's not every time that some human can get here, and it's not from every day that one disciple capable as you leaves his duty in such a hurry."
The two of you looked at each other, maybe confused, maybe curious, but it was like he knew something more about you and the male.
"I don't...listen, I just woke up here and...this...I felt something...like, I don't know... Just to walk? Tò...tò be somewhere?"
The looks on the male face changed immediately; your words struck something in him, which pleased the eldest.
"Like a call?!"
"...i...i Guess? Maybe?"
"I felt it too!" He was shocked, just as you were listening to him. "I don't know what to take to me, but I felt this urge for something! I followed it, and I found you!"
"you...too?"
You looked at each other again, but this time the elders small laugh caught both of your attention.
"Oh...oh, my dear One... it's not by accident that fate brought you here..."He took a big sigh, his hands behind his back, looking at the two of you. "Have you ever heard the tale of the great sage equal to heaven?"
"...i....yes?" As much as a book that you read during your years in high school could mean something. You didn't have so many memories of what you studied during your teens years, but you remembered those books for some reason, and you remembered that you had enjoyed it a lot too but never went forward to love it.
"What happened at the end of the story? After Sun Wukong becoming Buddha?"
"Well...nothing; he became Buddha and just ended!"
"...." He shacked his head and moved his hands like to make your words fly away. "No, no, no. He became Buddha, yes, but he wished nothing more than a peaceful life here, with his kind... and the Celestial realm could not stand that."
Everyone listened to this story in solemn silence. It was like they all knew about it, and even though they heard of it several times, they still kept respecting it. You know that Sun Wukong, the Gret sage, was their king, and still now they kept on respecting him.
"And so, they once again had to Clash their weapon...the sage lost against the bounds of the celestial realm, ending his story."
To your ears, this story seemed absurd. That would have changed everything—the meaning of the journey, the change of the heart of Sun Wukong... It even showed the dark side of this place, this court where the gods lived... He fought for his freedom; they denied it and killed him for that?!
The elders turned around, motioning for the two of you to get closer.
"But his spirit endured! And so, in this land, only the relics can bring him back! To rise again and walk on this land! One, between us, is the destiny one to accomplish this mission!"
He then reached for the male shoulder, grasping it with his long, slender finger.
"My boy... it's your time to travel through the land to accomplish what others had tried before you."
While the male registered this information, which you didn't understand like half-bif whatever was happening, the elders now looked at you with an inch of kindness.
"And you... who had traveled to another realm..."
Hold on, what's going on?!
"You that are outsiders from schemes and rules of the celestial realm..."
Oh SHIT, oh fuck, oh fuck what?!
"You shall be at his side in the quest...at his Biàn huà."
Your eyes locked to his face on the hand, now resting on your shoulder. Suddenly, your first love was to take a big step behind, away from the elders and the male, holding your hands on your chest.
".....ME WHAT?!"
He paused, waiting for you to calm down enough.
"Since the beginning, a chosen one, unbound to this world, has been chosen to follow the Destined one, to be at their side, and to witness the comeback of the Great Sage. Someone that exists yet is not here...someone like..."
You rose your hands, creating a wall between you and whatever strange things this senile simian was trying to tell you.
"NO! NAH AH! No way! I'm not any kind of Chosen or any Bia thing that you said!! I mean, I'm just a random girl walking around a mountain! How could you expect me to believe that I have to do something like... whatever this thing is?"
He took another step closer, motioning on his chest.
"Because you were called... by him." His hand moved to the male. "And so himself by you. The bond between the destined one and the chosen one is not detacted by any rule, magic, or sort of."
"Please," you pleaded, "this you can't ask me to bring back to life and old monkey! I don't even know what to do!"
"Well." He continued to circle you, moving his tails here and there, a little amused by the scene. "Not like someone knew the duty of the Bián huá! It's duty is to follow, yes, but to its purpose... well, you must take this journey to know it."
"But I want to go home! You can't force me!"
He hummed again, a little more confused this time. "I do not know how to take your back to your own realm. What I know is that the key lies on this journey. Maybe the way is at the end. But only going forward, you can really know."
You wanted to say something—that it was a mistake, that it was just a coincidence, that it was nothing such as that—but the monkeys voices were all united. One happy chorus of laughs, congratulations, and encouragement about the Destined One and his Biàn huà.
//////
Sitting on the robot of a tree, the one far away from those noisy celebrations, you kept on telling yourself that what was happening was a huge mistake.
Why that old monkey didn't want to listen to you!? Why forcing you to go through this?! It's not your mission; it's not your king; it's just an old story with a very sad ending! You're not the chosen one! Why kept one pushing it?!
You even kept on talking again with the elders, but he kept disseminating you, and he even told you basically that you were stuck there until the Wukong returned! They basically told you to screw it up and do what they wanted!
"Sulking won't lead you anywhere."
The voice of the male was followed by a pinkie object beating your head.
"I'm not hungry."
"Yes, of course. Came on. Just a few bites."
You have up and taken the peach from his hand, while he took that as and invitati on tò sit near you, a few feet away but enough.
"...I'm Sorry. It must be absurd for you."
"It Is. They want to force us to go and play Frankenstein."
He hummed, not knowing what you were talking about, biting a piece of his own fruit."Yeah, I get that... it's kind of my fault; I took you here in the village."
You sighed. Despite it all, this one seems nice. At least he had asked you how you felt about it. He wasn't like the others; he seemed serious, yes, but he was calm and educated enough to not push you... It was easy to talk to him.
And there was this still lungering feeling in your chest. You started to ask yourself if that thing about the bond was true, but you immediately dismissed it.
"I'll take you home."
"Come again?"
"It's not all right; you deserve to be chosen. That's what the Great Sage would have preferred. If I am the Destined One, then I must uphold his own view!"
"Wich is... great, really?"
You crossed your arm in your chest, "but the old one said clearly that he doesn't know how to bring me back home. How could you say that so easily?"
"He said that; he didn't say that there was none of them! I'm sure someone must know the way! A celestial being? Or maybe "he rose from his seat. "The Great Sage knows that! How to send you back home! If we find him, I'll complete my mission, and you come back home!
"He laughed, quite happy with his own ideas that... made sense? He was right; he didn't know! And, more importantly, by asking for help, you could have more chances!
"It does make sense..."
He smiled, the kneeled in Front of you, this time with a kind smile. He took your hands in his own. They were rough, but warm and just. Holding that staff on back every day... Must have been hard.
"I vow to you, Y/n, to help you in your quest, vile aiding me in mine. I'll promise to protect you, being your companion and ensuring your safety. I'll take you home, I promise."

Oh authorrrrr,I'm baaaacckk~!
May we have more of the destined one being picked on more about his crush? 🙏 or have us being picked on instead? We hunger,oh merciful one,for a food only one such as yourself can provide. (AlsodontfeelpressuredtokeepupwithmyfuckerypleasetakeasmuchtimeasyouneedILY)
((and i Will anyway because YOU'RE FEED MY EGO AND MY WILL OF WRITE STUFF!!!))
"How long does it take to wear a dress?! We don't have al night!"
"I'm following the instructions, now sucking it up and leave me be."
Bajie gave a scruff to the tree where you were currently wearing a highly complicated Hanfu. The ribbons, the layers, everything seemed hard to put together! At least the shopkeeper was kind enough to make some draws to help you out during the dressing; you still had some dignity to try to preserve your personal privacy with your companions.
"Well, if you need help, I was pretty versetile in taking off those dresses!"
"Hold up, Uncle." Yuán Fèn staff slightly touched the old pig belly from his spot near the lanterna, your only source of light. "Leave her be. I thought you were a pious monk."
Now, why the need for such a thing like dolling you up? Well, Bajie found out that not only that the relic was in the spiders yaoguais clutches, but they were preparing some kind of feast of some sort!
The old shapeshift trick would be enough to pass through, but there was a small problem, you.
It seems like the Biàn huà Power created some kind of shield against those staff, and you would surely stand out between some Yaoguais. So the idea was to send yourself as a gift for the old lady! A midnight snack!
"Ah! She's far too young for me, boy! I'll leave her to you!"
The old Bajie was able to avoid the smack from the tail of the young monkeys, chucklings, while Yuán Fèn fighited a blush that reached even his own ears. It was like the entire world was now united. Just assume that he had feelings for you!
Old sages?! Those ladies that love to gossip around! He kept on mumbling some imprecation when you finally leave the security of the trees, fixing an earring on you.
"I think I'm done! So ? Edible enough?"
Yuán Fèn didn't speak; how could he?The silk followed the curves of your body like a stream, creating some effect almost as if you were floating. The bright colors make you more like One of Seven fairies, emanating an aura of pure beauty and purity. The jewels that decorated your neck and hairy shined like stars on you, but never like your eyes.
Edible? Damn, he wanted to swallow you whole.
"Yooo? Earth tò Yuán fèn? Are you here?"
Your hands waved in front of him, trying to get his attention towards you. Saying that you found this state of him cute was an understatement. Your mighty protector, always ready for a fight, concentrated, never losing a step, is in fact easily flustered by a simple, elegant dress.
You giggled when he suddenly shaken his head.
"You look...uh...fine. Yes, fine, snackable, I would say!"
"Thanks... I technically need help with this... The shopkeeper said something about some symbols on the forhead that make you prettier. We lack mirrors here... "
You showed him a small bottle with some red color and a brush. He took it, analizing it a little.
"The huadian? Shure, no problem. Stay still okay?"
You hummed; you weren't sure. of the result, but you just needed something pretty on your forhead, right?
Yuán Fèn learned closer...very closer. His eyes sherpened to get the right angle. It was a simple thing, but somehow you felt strange. That damn
Damn magic bond, it was still making you feel strange around him. He was so close that trying to hold your hands would just then reduce in a low blow on him, so you stayed still. But still, his vicinity was making you dizzy, so you closed your eyes. It made you feel better—not good, but better...
You wondered, he smelled always so good? It was peaches, of course, but he smelled like...pines, trees...he smelled like the fresh earth in the morning... You were so concentrated over him, even with your eyes closed, that you didn't even feel the brush leave your forehead.
He admired his work. He admired you.
You put a light make-up on yourself—something easy to do alone. Your cheeks were rosy like a plum flower, and the powder smelled like fresh parfume. They must have put some pearls in the mortar because the moonlight made you shine a little. You were beautiful in every possible way.
"Have you done?"
He woke up, hummed in response, and gave you back the red paste and the brush.
"There...uh...I need to go and check a few things! We'll move after that; be ready, okay?"
He was panicking, to the point of tripping on a few roots on the nearby tree. You giggled. Was he always this cute?
"Carefull, girl..." Bajie finally spoke, "You may have broken him. We still need him!"
You laughed, scoffing away those words with your hand. "Oh, please!"
"And...what about you?" He got closer, cleaning a spot from his pants. "Aren't you a little broken? Not even a bit?"
Your eyes changed size in a mere second. You started to stutter, looking around, trying to avoid Yuán Fèn from listening to the conversation.
"What?! Of course not! What...me and him...no! He's...he's great! Don't get me wrong, I like him! He's brave, he cares so much for me, and he's devoted to his cause! And..i'm just...i'm just me...he deserves someone better."
"Are you implying that you're not good enough for him?"
You sighed, kicking a few rocks from your way. It has always been like this; you always thought of yourself so low. The world around you didn't help either. You were always the second choice, always misunderstood by everyone. Even now with this new title that some misteryous wntity had put on you, you couldn't shake the idea there was some mistake.
And the Destined One—you couldn't think straight with him. He was just... so good, so perfect in your eyes. You didn't want to get hurt, especially since you weren't planning to stay there longer.
"Girl," the old one spoke again. "You must fight this voice in your head! If you love him, then go and take him!"
"Uncle Bajie...it's not so simple." You sighed again, looking in the direction that your friend disappeared. "I cherish him; even like this, I'm content. Really. No need to worry!"
You strain a laugh from you; even if the hurt was clear on your face, it was clear as the day. And with that, you reached your simian friend, maybe to avoid the discussion.
Bajie looked in your direction, cursing the destiny that had decided to put those obstacles on you both! He remembered his older brother, Wukong. The pain in his heart, hurting his love to protect the monk—maybe, with the freedom that he obtained, the old sage hoped for a new beginning and, maybe, to heal his heart from the loss. And now there they were, still unable to fix two hearts that clearly longed for each other but couldn't stay together.

"Get your dirty hands off me! LET GO OF ME!"
"Listen Brother! We must act with respect! We have a lady in our hands!"
The two yaoguais kept on laughing while they were dragging you somewhere, far away from your friend and protector.
Everything happened so fast that you couldn't register the events: the Destined One, and you had to head to the location of the second relic, which you knew was in this desert. It seems easy at first; you thought that you just needed to be as careful as the last time, but something went wrong!
How could you not notice those scouts?! Maybe they were more used to the state of the place; maybe the dust covered the smell for your friend; what you know Is that in a couple of minutes your monkey was now on the ground, his chest puerced with arrows, agonizing yes, but still alive? You tried to help him; take the gourd that you carried with you with your healing wine, but before that, those rats had already captured you. You kept on struggling and fighting as much as you could, but instead they have other plans for you.
"Our second prince will love this snack! I heard that this one is a really good catch."
"Ah! Please! Maybe he'll give us a bite!"
They were planning to give you fkr lunch to their prince.
If it was them or him, you didn't care; what you did care was to survive and help your monkey out of that mess.
You were so focused on trying to break free from care where they were dragging you, but you started to think that it must have been an indoor when the scorching sun wasn't burning your head anymore.
It looked like a cave, maybe a temple inside the mountain based on the carvings on the walls. Columns made of pure stone, stalagmites, and stalactites decorated with sacred figures and prayers, commemorative candles near statues of Buddha and his disciples.
The ones that built the city must have used the caves in order to obtain more spaces, maybe?
You didn't get enough chance to ask since the two rats didn't show any kindness when they literally threw you on the ground.
"Shouldn't we... I don't know...cook her or something?"
"Ah! The prince and the king live their food fresh and squirmy! Now let's go; he doesn't like being seen while he eats."
And while you were Just pick up yourself from the ground, you Heard their soft and fast footsteps, leaving you in this new side of the cave. There were objects, quite a lot even, all of them around, like some small mountains of trinckets and stuff.
Furniture was around, but those were so damaged and old that you questioned if someone could even use it like that. On the walls of the cave, someone had put some decoration—canvases that had almost lost all of their colors, rusted weapons that were long lost—lost the care that they used to, for the exception of a scary giant Chui that was resting on the ground, ready to be picked.
Whoever was able to hold it must have been a quite herculean creature.
There was such a short source of light, coming from one hole in the ceiling of the wall and...from the way they took you in! There was no door, no bars, nothing!
You didn't want to waste anymore time, and so you sprinted in the same direction that the two rats had left you, until a rumble on your feet almost tripped you for the second time.
There was another, then another one.
Footstep, something big was walking towards you.
Two giant feet, covered in fur and some claws that you swear could rip apart your flesh, incased you. The armor was old and marred but still held some remembrance of his rank and position in his kingdom.
A large and long tail and a pointy mout... it was a rat, but it was grotesquely big. His yellow eyes scrutinized you, while his nose was sniffing the air in your direction.
Without thinking twice, you bolted so fast to escape from that thing, but you didn't get enough time since he was fast enough to grab you from your ankle and raise you up like an old ragged doll. You tried to kick it, scratch it, and try to punch it, but he didn't budge a little; it was like a mosquito bite for him.
"LET ME GO! STOP!"
Despite your plea, he just stood there, looking at you and sniffing more closely. A few of your hair sucked in his nostrils, and so I kept it up for a few more seconds. You couldn't see it, but it seemed... curious. He decided to change your position, holding you by your waist, trying to see you better from another angle.
You were beyond terrorized; from near, he was even worse! AND THAT SMELL! You shivered in his grasp, too afraid to move another punch or kick while he studied you. He finally stopped moving when your face hit a direct ray of sunlight from the hole in the ceiling. You gasped, tried to cover yourself, and then...the ground.
He didn't tossed you at all; he just putted you down. It was incredible to notice that you didn't even feel any pain in your abdomen from where he had grasped you. At that point, he just started to emit something that reminded you of some kind of giggle, a few snorts, and he looked...excited? He trotted to one of the small trinkets stacked near the bed that you assumed was his own. starting to move things around.
He was distracted. That was your chance! You slowly start to pick it up from where you left it to get out from there, when you felt again his enormous hand on your back, grasping the back of your shirt from behind, rising you up again like a kitten.
"Stop it! I don't-"
And then, again, you were seated...in front of what once was maybe a nice tea set. His throat was emitting a strange sound while he started a small fire and put a big iron pot of water on it. He was...humming...while making tea? And there were two pairs of small cups, old and dusty, and one was for you?
You didn't muttered a word, preferring to stare at that strange creature that was now putting some dried herbs; you wondered if it was even tea in the pot, still very small for something of his size.
"Wha...what are...you doing?"
"Making tea...for the guest!"
Okay, now it was a really good moment to freak out; he thought you were a guest?! HIS GUEST?!
"I thought you were supposed to..."
You held your tongue, reminding him about the fact that you were lunch for him; it may be quite a problem. You tried another time to move away, but suddlenly got back in place when some kind of conckut was versed in your cup. A few big drops spilled; he wasn't so versatile in this.
And then he looked at you. No, staring. He was there, staring at you, waiting for a response, and you looked at the staff in your cup. Imagine the food infection that it would cause. You kept on staring at it, trying to come up with every possible excuse to avoid the ingestion of the brooth, but three meters Yaogauis don't leave room for so many options. You gulped the content of the cup, trying to hold the near vomit coniate.
",..Gee...thanks...that was...so nice! .....Thanks..."
Oh was... please, like a lot. He started to clap, happy, drinking directly from the pot.
After that, he started again to act strangely. But this time it wasn't about taking care of the guest, but just...pile up staff...on you.
He made sure that you were comfortable, as much as you were, but his actions reminded you of a child that is showing you staff. At some point he even tried to put a necklace around your neck, but your sudden shriek made him desist, only for him to put the garmet in your hand. It was an old and broken jade pearl necklace; maybe there was a pendant in the middle since the space, but it was long gone. The small gems were broken or ruined, but it seemed to be once a really nice piece of jewelry.
At some point, your fear just became boredom and hassle, especially when he kept on showing you staff. At some point, what really caught your eye was a rectangular piece of wood that had previously fallen from one of the piles next to you. Covered in dust and mud, it must have seen better time, but, on the front, something was still visible: it was a piece of paper plastered with something on the wood, and, on it, three figures standing, one sitting in the center of it. The three standing figures seemed young, each of them with something to distinguish them from each other, the one sitting on a small chair wearing instead some regal robes.
"Ah, a painting...why did you keep it with you? Do you like drawing?"
The rat suddenly stopped, pointing his finger towards you and the draw.
"Me! Me and brothers! And my papa too! You found it, so good."
He seemed delighted, clapping his hands and making again those strange sounds. You, instead, cannot stop looking at the drawing confused. Him? Wait...one of them had a Chui next to him, and some traits, by using a lot of imagination, made him similar to your gaoler.
"Wait...this is you? You are him?!"
You pointed the figure, and he just...nodded, vigurusly.
"But," you continued, "how?! How it happened?! You were a man! How did you become a... Yaoguai?"
You said, avoiding using the word rat, opting to not make remarks on his looks further.
"Master!" He just chirped "Master! He did it! Everyone rats now! Little brother left, searching for help for turning in rats...still missing...older brother...not so good...he acts violent...daddy like master! So I follow too! ....But not like, like, daddy."
"Master?...what master?"
"Sage! Wind sage!"
"Hold on, the...the yellow wind sage did this to you?" He kept on nodding; this time it was slower than before; maybe it was something that he wasn't proud of?
"Did it hurt you? I mean,. you didn't have a tail before. It was painful. I'm...sorry..." Your tone was softer this time, wondering how much pain that poor creature must have endured all this time. He seemed to be remembering his old life as a man; maybe, by having you in, he tried to recreate some old habits of him? Did you remind him of someone that he had lost? He didn't even try to eat you at all; he was just being nice.
He kept on looking at you, sensing the change in the room after this knowledge, and he just...poke you. You looked at him, raising an eyebrow. Was he trying to cheer you up?
"Even rat, help Daddy! Master will be back, Daddy happy, and finally Daddy will notice my work! Me protect people from tigers! Not many thanks, but still do!"
And now you felt worse! How could someone say so casually that their father doesn't give them enough credits?! He was just a big guy. Yaogaus truly were strange, from some friendly horses to a rat prince.
"I'm sorry to know that you have to endure all of this... But, you know, me and my friend, we're searching for AH!"
Trying to understand this creature, trying to get a chance to flee, and trying to not faint for fear made you forget the first reason why you were there in the first place. You rose from your spot, causing him to back away in surprise.
"The relic! The wind sage...MONKEY!"
You put down the cup; how could you stay here taking tea while your friend was somewhere pierced by who knows how many arrows?! You started to move away from there, trying not to fall from the various junk that he had put around you.
"I'm sorry! I need to leave! My friend needs me; I need to help him! I AGH!"
When he grabbed you, this time he was more scared and aprehensive, trying to stop you from your exit.
"No! You must stay! Other kill and eat, I protect and care! You too, nice! You stay!"
The fight that you left before restarted again, this time with much more vigor from you. You won't have let your friend die in that dump place!
"Put me down! I don't want to stay here with you! LET ME GO!"
His attempt to keep you in place resulted in both his giant hands holding you and trying to keep your kicking feet away from his face. He was starting to panic. Why did you have to leave?!
The struggle continued, and both of you did not notice a figure approaching fastly in your direction until you just heard a huge STOMP. The rat started to move around like a drunk man, then collapsed in a huge cloud of dust and sand. This time, you didn't have to taste the ground since two strong arms were ready to capture your fall.
"You look like you were in need of assistance, my Bián huá!"
"...Monkey!"
His furry face welcomed you once you opened your eyes from the fall with a smile and, instinctively, you launched your arms around his neck for an hug. But you remembered his wounds at the last moment.
"AH! I'm sorry! Your wounds!"
"I'm fine! See? Not a scratch!"
He showed you his chest, untouched and without trace of any wounds or arrows.
"But I saw it... Did the healing wine help you?"
"Not exactely. I've found a helping hand that...
Will let you lose your head!"
"...it's strangely specific."
He just laughed it off but regained his seriousness once he heard some moan of pain from the rat Yaogaui in front of him. He let you down, then took back his staff.
"Wait!" He looked at you surprised. "Let's just leave him. You gave him a concussion already. I don't think he'll be a problem soon."
"All right, I don't know what happened here, but you look like you had a blast. Let's move now; more rats will come after the commotion!"
You nodded, but you still looked back at the prince with the same sorry expression from before.
"I'm sorry. It's an urgent matter. I promise to apologize better when we'll take the relic. Thank you!"
And so you and the Destined One left hand in hand the cave, noticing in a rush moment the look of pain in the prince's eyes. You wondered if the pain was for his head or something else.

If it is too much trouble could you write about Bián huá grooming Yuán Fèn after a big battle
When traveling, one gets dirty, and one doesn't have much time to clean themselves
Bajie would no doubt have fun at the youngster's expense
"It's not necessary!"
"Yes, yes, it is. You stink." You smelled a little in your armpit; your nose frowned. "And so am I."
He looked around; the fog of the hotspring didn't give him enough visual of his surroundings, and that couldn't give you both a disadvantage in a fight. But the hot water... it was tempting.
He scratched his arm, but it was the nervousness that made him do that. To be honest, all of his body was in an itching mess, especially after your last mission.
You both had been on the road for some time, and you were returning from Yellow Wind Ridge. The sun, the bugs, the sand—you both were in need of a bath, and Yuán fèn? He needed a good grooming session. You could see the small flies jumping here and there on his furr, and trying to help himself wasn't helpful.
So, when you spotted the hotspring, you had an idea... that he regretted the moment you started to remove the upper part of your clothes.
"I can't smell anything! What if someone attacks us?!"
"Bajie is around, so it won't be a problem for now."
"I can do it by myself! I don't need you to help me with a grooming session!"
"You can't reach every part! Come on, you've been bathing with your sister when you were young!"
"That's... not the problem..." He mumbled, his cheeks and ears tinted in a soft shade of pink. You kept your top, and what it was supposed to be was a pair of boxers, so you weren't completely naked, you still had some privacy, and you immerged one foot in the warm water.
"Off your clothes now."
"Do I have to?"
"I can't clen your back with your garmet on!" You try to reach his belt, but only to meet hair when he dodges and starts to panick.
"Okay okay! I can do it myself!"
When he finally decided to get in the water, he kept his pants on, refusing to let you see more of his exposed body. By the movements of his tail, he must have been quite nervous. Despite the protests, the complaints, and his whining, in the right moment the warm waters of the spring touched his malnourished skin, a sigh of relief emanating from him. It was true; he really needed that, but he never said that he needed your assistance!
Sitting on a rock behind him, and with the help of a comb, you started to tend to his mane and skin, trying to catch every parasite or insect that had the luck to escape from the boiling.
He said that wasn't necessary. His skin was full of scratches and deep cute from his long and sharp nails. Scabs and new cuts here and there, some knots of fur that couldn't be reached, dandruff... Unnecessary your ass! He was a mess!
"Look at you. If you needed so much, you could just ask!"
"I didn't want to delay the mission." He mumbled, trying to clean his arm from more dust and dirt. The water had some spots from what was removed from him.
"It's a noble gest, but if you end up like this, then it's not a delay at all. Here, I'll do the head now."
You helped yourself with your bowl by pouring some of the water on his head, letting him lean against your tights. You started to scratch gently with the comb his furr, freeing him from more fleas and dead hair.
"Next time, let's bring some soap. It will help. We can even take out time and stay in a bath house."
"..."
"We can even deal with the money?....I mean, how many infested bath houses can be found?"
"..."
"... Yuán fèn? Are you listening?"
Oh, how much he needed It. To the point that he completely lost consciousness. The water, the warmth, your soft skin, the head scratch... his senses were completely out. Then, you felt something, like a small vibration, coming from...
No, it couldn't be...
You brought your head nearer, avoiding sudden movements, and you felt it.
He was purring.
You had to cover your mouth to avoid to giggles and squeals for your new find out discovery.
Since when he was able to do that?! OOOHHH, how much you wish that your phone hadn't died a few days ago. After your arrival, you would love to have some videos of him like this!
You continued the session, enjoying the fact that he was literally melting in your hands. You both were completely in the moment when-
"Enjoying the evening, are we?"
Bajie's voice was cracking by the laughter of the scene. The surprise of his sudden arrival caused your fall in the water, resulting in you gasping for air and Yuán fèn losing his balance on your legs, receiving a head bump on the rock.
You all left the hotspring for the night, with Bajie making some remarks about the sweet scene that he had witnessed, Yuán Fèn that still massaged his head, and you wondering how to make that monkey purr again.

I felt so sorry for the prince rat. It's like, little baby needs to be protected at all costs and urgently needs a friend. 😭😭🤲❤️
Wouldn't it be a bother to continue? I just want to see a happy ending for the rat prince (I'm not pressuring you!).
"Came on, everybody! Togethere!"
"HEAVE-OH!"
A big number of small monkeys, cubs, and youngster were frolicking the old well at the edge of the forest. With the help of the rope, they were trying to take up the water. Or, better say, something in the water.
You were on your way back to the mountain; being the only human gave you free access to the mortal village, holding one Bing Tanghulu in your hand and another in your mouth, already half eaten, and it was there that you noticed the crawd of monkeys, busy in that activity. The well was used by them, and the small basket of water wasn't such an issue to rise up, so something was on there.
"Hi little ones! What are you planning this time?"
"Miss y/n! You're back from town!"
"We're trying to get the funny thing out of the well!" Said one of the smallest ones in the group, holding the rope rather than pulling with its brothers and sisters.
"Trying to get the funny thing out of the well, uh?" You poked your face near the edge of the rock structure. "Well, that's one I never heard before!"
And, as you ended that sentence, a low moan escaped from the same well, letting you loose the grip of the candy from your hand.
"OH GOD, THERE'S SOMEONE DOWN THERE?!"
Without another request, you grabbed the rope, helping the monkeys to rise whoever was so unlucky to fall in a well. Finally, a silhouette started to appear from the shadow, and... Two pairs of yellow irises, an old and rattled prestigious armor, a furry face with some rodent features.
There, face to face, you were dragging out the same rat prince that you met at Yellow Wind Ridge.
His eyes suddenly got bigger, fueled with refound glimps.
"FRIENDY!"
You screamed, alongside the children, loosing the grasp on the rope and letting the giant creature fall back in the well.
//////
"Ok everyone, ready for everything!"
Now, the youngest were replaced by the oldest ones, stronger and ready to attack the intruder of their land. Yuán Fèn, the destined one, was covering you with himself, his staff ready to strike at every chance of danger for you, while you were trembling, wondering how that creature was able to follow you two to Mount Huagou.
The group was able to rise the Yaoguai like before, but this time. Once out, the creature searched for something, and, once he had laid his eyes on you, he found it.
"FRIENDY!" He freed himself from the ropes, fell ungraciously on the ground, and started to move with that same level of agility towards you.
You gasped while your monkey friend was ready to point his weapon at the unwanted guest, making him stop in his tracks.
"Not another step! You seem to remember my staff, so you better keep your distance!"
The gargantuan rodenmt seemed concerned by the warning of the simian but kept on moving, hoping to get a glance at you, while you were still shielded by Yuán Fèn and garded in distance by others, all of them armed with their own staff.
"How the heck did he find this place?! How was he able to follow us?!"
"Maybe he followed your smell, Y/N; you stayed in that cave for some time, and he must have memorized!"
"Hihi, rats have the best smell! But they're not big as this one here!" The children, mischievous as always, didn't fled like the second time and watched from the trees the scene in front of them. Since they were used to normal kinds of rats, a Yaoguai one like that must have been news for them; that's why they were calling him the funny thing when they were recovering earlier. You, on the other hand, were less enthusiastic about his presence since your last encounter.
"My, oh my...our Bián huá had cought quite the catch, um?" An old and calm voice emerged from the small corwd; the elder monkey appeared, laughing a little, observing the scene that was unfolding.
"I swear! It wasn't my intention! He just...followed me here!" You pleaded, hoping to not have endangered the monkeys.
"Oh, he's not something to be bothered about. I was most interested in how this distinctive creature had followed you two."
You both explained the happening: the destined one falling in an ambush, you being captured, and this Prince behavior. The eldest, listening, had sniockered a few times, mostly for your ignorance on the rat's intention, but kept shut.
"Clearly," Yuán Fèn said, "he can't stay here. This is not a place for him, and his people still need him, especially since his older brother and his father abscence."
"I believe," the elder continued, "that he won't go away even on his own." He gestured towards another attempt of the prince to grab you or touch you with his tail, always prevented by a move from you or from Yuán Fèn.
"And I REALLY don't want to set another foot at Yellow Wind Ridge; they'll believe we have abducted him or something!" You said again, finally deciding to scoff away the tail with a small kick.
"Um, if he can't go back...and we can't accompany him...someone has to come and fetch him, don't you think?" The leder seems to have someone in mind; he has been always kept informed of all of your adventures and meetings, and he must have already had someone in mind.
"The third prince, maybe?" Yuán Fèn suggested, remembering the man that you two met at the Pagoda realm.
"Oh! You right!" you suddenly gleemed again. "We can inform him! He's his brother; he's his responsibility after all! And, besides, it could be a good way to get his family together, no?"
It seemed like a reasonable idea! Even if you were a little afraid of the possibility of the third prince tò refusing.
"In that case," the elders keep it on. "Why don't send him a message about it?" In the mean time..." He took a little pause; that reminded you more of a dramatic pause. "Y/N, why don't you help him around?"
"ME?!"
Yuán Fèn instantly got beat the elders; even he didn't like that idea. It was one case if it was having a Yaoguai running around and making a mess; another was all of these things and having him following you like a shadow!
"Old One, this is impossible! He clearly doesn't have good intentions; leaving him with the Bián huá is a danger to us and the mission!"
"Or," he stopped the younger, "he'll behave...and act properly...as the same Bián huá asked." No?"
He looked at you, arching on of his hairy eyebrown.
You looked at the rat; you know he had understood everything all of you had said; in fact, he was... It was a puppy face? He was making a puppy face to convince you?! You let a sigh escape from you; there's no way out of that.
"I guess... I can try to make him eat any monkey...
The elders smiled, patting your shoulder with a satisfied voice.
"Let's send the letter right away then."
And so, without if or but, you were stuck... with him. It wasn't easy for Yuán Fèn either, with all his brothers and sister snickering at the idea of the prince stealing his girl.
/////
"No! This is my room; you can't get in!"
Fighting with a giant rat that is trying to bring an entire plum tree in a small crevice into another one is quite hard, especially if you're just a human.
For the last week, you've been the only caretaker of the big fella. And oh boy, your entire adventure and task seemed like a nice walk in the park.
Hua and Fang, the two female monkeys who occupied the room with you, were utterly scared by this creature trying to get inside, only causing more ruckus from the other females.
"Present! Nice flowers for friendy!"
"You can put them outside! Stop! I'm coming, okay?! Cut it out already!"
You apologized to the two and tried to get the prince far away from the sleeping area. From a branch, observing with some worry, Yuán Fèn couldn't shake the idea that you've been far too soft on him. This wasn't the first time that he had crossed a line; man, the worst was when he started to follow you and the other female to the bathing zone. At least he and the other males were ready to stop him with some food, a second thing that could help them to get you some free time. From the rest, he seemed like there was zero chance to get you alone.
You took him away from the place that you helped him, with the assistance of the others, to make him a surrogated house for that time, a simple fabric, some sticks, and an old mattress for him. You had to stop up on a rock to look at him in the eyes.
"Listen up, big guy," he seated down, understanding the seriousness of your tone. "You can just keep doing this! Bursting into everyone's room, my room! Oh, and don't let me start with the bath story; I know everything! Have you any idea how many mess you caused? And how many of them do I have to clean?!"
You massaged your temples; he seemed hurt, but it was unclear if the message cut through.
"I know you just want to be nice; bring gifts and what you catch in the woods, but...listen, I just want some time for me!"
There was a moment of silence where you thought that he didn't get a thing of what you said; he always heard what he wanted to hear. But maybe he got that you felt frustrated, and he started to shake the tree, still in his grasp, gently over your head. A soft and gentle rain made of petals started to fall over you, the sunset only making the colors shine more. After some seconds, you giggled, covering your mouth.
"Is that a way to say sorry?"
He didn't hear a thing; as usual, he was only there, admiring your smile.
//////
Despite his attempts to take you out of the water, every time you just shove him away. Everyone was supposed to help the community, and today you were supposed to catch some fish.
He seemed agitated, like a dog that can't reach his owner, and kept on crying and howling to get him back.
"He's going to scare away all of the fish like this!" Fu, the young male, was right. You both were there for more than an hour and didn't get anything. Sooner or later, you both have to return to the village and confess your unluckiness since your guest didn't like the idea of you in the water.
"Prince, please, I'm fine! Let us catch the fish in piece, then we can go back!"
Here some silence, finally! The two of you started to come back to your duty when a huge splash and a thunderous blast made both of you lose your balance and fall.
"WHAT THE F-" another blast, more splashing water.
The prince must have thought that, by helping you get more fish, you would have finished sooner and came back with him! So he started to use a huge log to hit the water, causing the fish to be hurt by the wave from it. Soon, the net was full of very much dead fish.
"Well, look at that! We're full for the day!" said Fu, with a frefound joy.
You laughed, and when he got closer, you hugged the prince's arm.
"You see?! You're amazing! Good job!"
//////
The moonlit was coloring the dark skies. Sitting in the grass, his tail tried to warm you up while you were too connected to look at the stars, maybe searching for a deity that wandered too far from the celestial court.
"I wonder if people are missing me at home." You finally spoke, ending the silence. "I've been away from home. I hope they're all okay."
A moan made you change your gaze from the sky to the prince. He had never looked at the sky once, to be fair.
"And you? Don't miss home a tiny bit." He just shoked his head. "I guess they miss you instead. You cared for them, and they do it too. They're just rodents, I guess."
You sighed; they seemed to care, so they wanted to feed him with you. It has passed an entire week now, and still no response from his younger brother. You started to worry that they had forgotten him, or worse.
His finger poked your face, worried from your expression.
"Home away," he spoke. "You here now. Me happy. You here. Very happy."
You smiled again, touched by his words, unaware of a bird coming to the village.
/////
The next day, Yuán Fèn seemed to be pondering, a little in his own world and not too far connected to his surroundings. That was an easy catch to let get away.
"BOO!" While almost trip from the stone, you laughed holding your stomach.
"Ha ha, laugh as much as you want. I'll take my time next time a Yaoguai tries to eat you."
"We both know that you would never do that." You sat next to him, holding him a khaki. "And I'm here with GREAT knews! The third prince responded to our letter and is coming here!"
"Oh! How long till he reach Mount Huagou?"
"He said he'd be on his way immediately, so I guess he'd just be near! Your vacancy away from me is almost over; savor the last days!"
"You hurt me!" he laughs, putting an arm around your shoulders. "I do enjoy our time together! I would like to not prepare for your way back home even."
"Hehe, I know, I know, I keep forgetting that I have to go back sooner or later. In that case, I'll savor these moments with you!"
And while the two of you shared a nice moment, a pair of eyes watched with jealousy, and some ears listened with grief.
////
That morning, when you woke up, you thought to find your new friend around, waiting for you to follow you around like every day by now; instead, no one was there. Did he decide to leave you alone? Strangely, every demand had passed through his ears.
"Hey," you stopped An, another of the youngest monkeys. "Did you see the Rat Prince?" He's usually here at this time."
She pondered a little rather than remembering.
"I heard him going to the training ground!"
Oh, so he wanted to train a little? Not exactely.
In that moment, Yuán Fèn was taking care of his duty by helping the youngers to train with their weapons, like mostly of his days there on the mountain, and heard the giant footstep of the rat. Despite their past, in these days he tried to be as gentle as you with him, even if he met only some poorly manners towards him, but he passed every one of them.
"Ah, look who's showed up here! Are you here for?" Before he could finish his sentence, a powerful blow from the prince Chui hit him with a direct blow that threw him away. The other monkey started to scream, showing teeth and trying to get closer, but the prince had nothing but his prey in mind.
Before he could have struck another blow, Yuán Fèn was fast enough to summon his staff and stop him in a stall. A small blood drop escaped from the simian mouth, trying to match the strength of the prince with his own.
"Did you lose your mind?! What are you doing?!"
"We settle! Me fight you! If I win, I take Y/N away! She won't leave; she stays with me! You disappear!"
So that's what he wanted?! A fight over you?! He knew you wanted to go home, that the mission needed you, and you wanted to help. What all of this against your wishes?! Yuán Fèn was enraged, not for the fight itself but because everything was born from the egoistical desire of that monster.
"As you wish!" And so the fight began. The two, under the watchful eyes of everyone, fought with surch brutality that they feared for the worst. That rat had proven to his people that he was strong, but he had never fought the destined one. He wasn't just strong; he was capable of many tricks and faster. No matter how many blows he received, he was ready to get back on his feet.
More blows were shared, more avoided, and some not, but the fight wasn't made to last.
"PRINCE!"
Your voice echoed, and the Rat stopped his last shot, allowing Yuán Fèn to get more space between himself and his opponent. You were there, at the entrance of the training ground, looking at the scene in disbelief.
"What...what are you doing?! Why are you fighting Yuán Fèn?!"
"Me settle! So we can stay together! Home, with me!"
"...W-what?" You looked at him confused, giving him the chance to get closer. Now, his enraged expression was more soft.
"You don't need to leave; you stay forever with me! We stand at the village; we are happy!"
"But... I don't... I don't want to..."
His look changed again; something hurt this time.
"I want to go back home, I told you! ...I need to stay and help the Destined one!"
"But I want you with me; we can be happy together!" He reached his hand towards you, one that you smacked away, offended by his words.
"I said I stay! I don't want to follow you!"
He looked at his hand. You had never smacked away like that. He grabbed your arm again, pulling it with violence. The sudden move was the last straw for Yuán Fèn; he had heard the clear sound of something broking and your scream. Before the prince could loosen his grip on you, the staff of the Destined one launched a last strike that launched the rat away, and he immediately took you in his own arms.
"You...VILE BEAST! Enough is enough! We had let you stay, we had fed you, and we allowed you this because of her, and you are repaying us with this?! HURTING HER?! I swear, if I even see your mutt at the entrance of the village, I'll kill you!"
Your pained scream echoed while Yuán Fèn rushed you to the elder monkey, aware that now he looked more like a rabid animal than the one that had vowed to protect you.
The prince, stuck in his tracks, could only see the crow disappear.
////
In the follow days, just once the prince tried to get near you. He was spared because you begged Yuán Fèn, and that was the last time.
He didn't show up, not even in his small house. He seemed disappered.
You were cured; the healing wine was able to fix your arm, but it still hurt a bit, and your Yuán Fèn never left your side while you were anguishing in your pain. He should have known that that could have happened; it was clear that the prince planned something with you, but he never thought that he could go as far as attacking him or hurting you. Maybe your case was an accident, but he didn't care, not at all.
Finally, the day of the third prince's arrival came, and you had to tell him everything. Everyone wanted to greet him with nicety and some fun; instead, he arived with relief, knowing that he would have brought away his brother.
"I truly apologize; I cannot shake the fact that it's also my own fault. If I had never left my kingdom, nothing would have happened."
"It was meant to happen," said Yuán Fèn, "and we know you'll do what is necessary for him."
He hummed, worried more about your silence than all.
"Y/n, it's something bothering you?"
"I wish we could say goodbye properly." Yuán Fèn looked at you shocked. "I just want things to not end like this! I endulged him; it's also my fault!"
The destine done sighed, looking at the third prince for some assistance. He nodded a little, knowing that maybe you and his brother needed that.
You founded him not far from the village, enough to see you all, or better you, but not enough to get beaten to death by the other monkeys. It was something about you and him, but even in that case, the third prince and Yuán Fèn stayed in close reach to avoid another accident like the last one.
The rat stayed there, too focused on breaking some sticks, unaware even of the presence of his own blood. When he saw you near, he seemed surprised, excited, or even afraid for something.
"Today is the last day; your brother is here." He didn't say anything, just staring at you, meddling with the sticks. "I know that you mean well; I know that you had suffered for a long time, but... the things you offer are not what I want. You must respect that, do you understand?"
He did; this time he did listen to you. But it was painful to him.
"I still want to be your friend. Do you still want to be mine?"
You smiled at him. You graced him again with that gentle smile that could break his heart every time you wanted. He wanted more, but it wasn't what you wanted after all. He toked the hand that you had offered him, holding it gently. It was so small compared to his own, soft and warm. He wanted to be the one to hold it. But it was set there that you belonged already to someone else.
At the end of the day, the two princes and some of their followers left Mount Huagou, leaving the monkeys behind, so they could keep back their daily lives. The second prince left, with a broken heart but a healing friendhip.
"He really did want to keep you with him." Yuán Fèn spoke, watching with you the group merging in the forest, "But I don't think he treasured you enough to know what you really wanted."
"And you?" your eyes met. "Do you treasure me enough?"
The young one decided to not speak, deciding to just hold your hand and squish it.

*crawls onto desk and looks up upon you* oh dear and glorious author god who graciously feeds us by humble request,I have arrived once more to give asking for blessings of feed for my brethen and I. Please gib the jealous scenario. It is finally time to gib us. The jealous monke. Please and thank you.
((my beloved, i take as this request as a joyfull presents. I NEED MORE! PEOPLE I NEED MORE!))
"Well, it looks like you're getting quite good at it, huh?"
Turning around, you noticed Shen coming closer from his spot. You took the chance of a small chat with the forefather to get a small break from your training with your new-found powers. Being able to use some of the same skills that Yuán Fèn had was handy, but he was such a natural with them while you needed to focus a little more. Of course, your friend decided to help you out with them. That's why you both decided to head to the Zodiac Village to not gain attention. Of course the two of you were under the wathfull eyes of Bajie, sitting on a giant case near the furnace.
And of Shen, of course, but he had a strange glim in his eyes that day.
" Yes! Is exciting! I never imagined that even I could do such things as these!"
"You're a Natural One, y/n! We still need to fix a few mistakes, but you're on the right path!"
Yuán Fèn has nothing but pure pleasure; seeing you so excited makes his heart slip a bit a few times. And of course, many had noticed, and someone wanted to use another approach with you two.
"Is that so? Well, good to know, good to know... Since she's a natural with these staff, do you mind if I take your little friend here for a few tests? I should really need a palate like hers now."
Shen put his arm around your shoulder, poking your nose, glancing a few. Look to the other one. His tone, usually so relaxed and aloof, was strangely sweet to the younger monkey ears that time. To be honest, it felt less genuine and a little more suave.
"I...ehm...yes, why not? If y/n is fine by that."
"Well...okay! I needed a break!
"Good! Now follow me, dearest."
After that nickname, that gesture, and another side glance from the forefather, Yuán Fèn felt itchy, his foot tapping the ground light, and his tail wiggling in a strange behavior.
///
From there on, you cannot shake away the feeling that Shen was onto something.
He was closer, very closer than usual, to you while he let you taste a few of the wines that he was able to produce, and he kept letting you use the sober stone to avoid any kind of surprise. He wanted you vigilant, that's what he said.
He was funny; he had always had this easygoing behavior, but this time he had never let a chance slide for making you laugh or making some compliments that led you to a blushfull state.
And while he was acting in this behavior, as trying to show you around, someone seemed to be in an agitated state. From time to time, when you heard movements or something being touched by a foot, you were able to see a certain destiny around, looking at the two of you. You tried to call for him, trying to ask him if he was okay or if he needed something, but Shen was always ready to take away the words from your mouth and question the other male.
Yuán Fèn, with some scoff, just avoid the questions.
You were trying another wine when you felt Shen's hand on your shoulder.
"But enough of it; tell me, Y/n, do you have a special one?" You almost choke on the wine.
"M-me?"
"Of course you! Someone that caught your eye? Someone that let your heart skip a beat?"
You tapped the cap a few times, your eyes avoiding to meet Yuán Fèn and confirm something.
"Wel... I don't think. No..."
"Oh! So you basically free now, uh?" Why was he so close? You get so small between his hands. "In this case...why don't we-"
And in one swift second, two other hands grabbed you, taking you away from Shen's attention. A tail was wrapping around you like a cobra, and a shadow loomed over you, covering you from everything.
Yuán Fèn, with his teeth grinding, was looking at Shen with a pair of eyes that could set fire to a forest.
"HANDS OF OR-" as he had taken that stance, he suddenly stopped, one hand leaving you to cover in teeth in shame.
"Or...what?" Shen had that smirk again, unmoved by that show.
Yuán Fèn lowered his eyes on you; his shameful eyes met your incredulous ones. As he had come, he darted off, mumbling something for himself. You stood up, looking at him with a worried expression.
"Yuán Fèn! Wait! I'm so sorry, Shen! I'll go talk with him!"
You followed the Destined One, while Shen waved his hand with a sneaky eye.
///////
You were able to reach it only when the same monkey stopped in his tracks. You had called him a few times. but it seemed that he didn't quite register you at all.
"Yuán Fèn! Wjat happened! Why did you act like that?!" You looked at him with concern.
He had never reacted with someone like that, especially with you as an audience! When he turned around, his face was covered in a pure red shade, making him look more like a fire bell than anything.
"I don't know what happened to me! He-he was just...and you were...and I started to... I'm so sorry! I shouldn't act like that to the forefather!"
"Wait, wait, wait..." you take his hands in your "breath, then speak."
He did what you asked; he needed more minutes to completely calm himself.
"I'm so sorry that you have to witness that shameful display. I felt something bad from the moment he took you to testing those wines. I know he was planning something, but I didn't know what. And these things, this emotion—I felt this itching sensation that I needed to take you away from him!"
He seemed genuinely hurt, so you guessed that he acted as an idiot. After all,. he may be the destined one, but he was a monkey too. And, by the way, he was explaining it...
"Were you jealous?"
By hearing these three words, his expression of shame became one of pain. Like the idea of having such feelings made him sick of some sort.
"It's horrible; I'm so sorry! I didn't mean it!"
"Calm down," you giggled. " Is...fine! ...Flattering even."
"Flattering? How?" He looked at you, now confused by that statement.
"Well," you continued, "no one ever had jealousy as me as the motive. It's a new thing and a tiny tipsy cute."
"How can that be cute?!"
"Well, just a little! It's showing that you care, but just a bit! I'm not someone; I want to see you fight over people!"
At least you took it in the most rational way. He massaged his eyes, sighing deeply.
"I'm still sorry...in front of the forefather, a deity even!"
"Let's go and apologize. Besides, he was acting off, and I felt a little...hoverwelmed by him. As long as we make our piece, I think we're even." Your warm smile gave him a little more of a relax; at least you weren't angry. If it was necessary, he would have talked to the other zodiacs too; for now, he let you take his hand and guided him towards the village.
/////////
"You old monkey, have you no shame?!" Bajie could give a damn to the fact that the monkey was come kind of deity; he was ready to hit him with his rake. Shen just kept drinking with a very satisfied face.
"Brother,"Chen stepped in. "He's right! Poor girl, you must have scared her for life! And that poor boy, have you no shame to embarrass your youngling like that?!"
"Easy, my friends, easy! Look!" His finger pointed to the figure of you two, talking to each other and...holding hands. You were smiling, reassuring him. He was calming down, cinfessing something. " See? They just needed a small push."
"That's not even a real confession if you ask me," retorted Bajie.
"You may be right, brother pig, but if we don't set the base, we'll never have a house!"
