This season was actually painful to watch. And I thought Akibaranger was awful.

They're both annoying but in different ways.

If this was Inoue's last season, I'm glad, because he literally threw everything at the wall and expected it to stick.

Completely forgetting it's a Sentai, he just threw in monsters at the last minute for some of the episodes. Completely forgetting it's an anniversary season (much less as supposed sequel to one of the best seasons, Zenkaiger) where the monsters are supposed to reference past stuff, and when they are defeated, the team gets a power-up to use their powers directly instead of Zenkai's summons/power influence. Said monsters when they went giant were also supposed to reference the mechs but they kept recycling the same two suits over and over. Forgetting that they had a budget and having recolors of monster suits.

Felt stupid that they had a soulless crossover reference for the first mech before they actually got their own stuff, and then just brushed off that it never happened.

Didn't like Kiji Brother and Inu Brother's suits being CG because any fight with them was so awkward, especially with their weird proportions on both ends. Couldn't take their "dramatic battle" seriously at all when a stick of a man-bird was fighting Sonic. (Not to mention that it made the stage show awkward because they were acted out by humans.)

None of the characters were likable. And the ones that were, Kijino and Tsubasa, they ruined soon enough. When they spent 44 episodes to reveal Tsubasa as Inu Brother, I got a headache when I read the spoilers. My headcanon is that the Kaito in this show is the god from Zenkai still in Kaito's form, because he acts nothing like how he did in Zenkai and the whole series there was dimension shenanigans anyway, so I'm taking that as fact. (As well as time nonsense in this one, ugh.) Jiro could've been good but he's just so sidelined that even when his plot stuff was settled, he still wasn't relevant until the end.

I couldn't stand it being the Taro show and we're supposed to believe that he's perfect and never wrong, despite the show trying to say that he's wrong yet never punish him because everyone forgives him. And I thought Lucky was a bad protagonist...

So far King-Ohger is good, so it's at least washing this bad taste out of my mouth.

I cannot fucking imagine watching Kamen Rider or Super Sentai from the very beginning. That shit started in 1971 and it's been going strong ever since. That's 48 fucking seasons of television. I can barely get through one season of a show without having an aneurysm, how the fuck am I supposed to do forty fucking eight???

being a toku fan is like... theres 24 hours in a day and 44 seasons of super sentai and i'm going to watch lupat or goseiger for the fifth time instead of one of 20 seasons i haven't seen.

44. battle fever - I just hate miss america

43. sun vulcan - I have no feelings about sun vulcan

42. goggle v - I dont really like the helmets

41. denjiman - I feel like when people draw generic sentai parodies they end up looking like denjiman

40. turboranger - workable but so basic. nothing stands out to me about turboranger

39. goranger - good start. capes are nice 

38. dynaman - this is like the first step to modern sentai

37. maskman - kind of boring but fine. it’s so wack that the women have earrings

36. gingaman - I’ve never liked these tbh. the stripes on the chest look like an ugly sweater. I don’t love the helmets either

35. zyuranger - these are very classic. I like the diamond motif repeating on the gloves and boots

34. ohranger - the helmets are, well. but I love the gold accents especially on the hems of the skirts

33. abaranger - I love abaranger to death but I think the suits are kind of ugly :/ abarekiller rules though

32. gogov - I don’t have much to say about gogov I just think they look good. my favorite part is the respirator appearing when they transform

31. jakq - love the capes and unironically love big one

30. zyuohger - I got used to these but I still don’t love them. I appreciate the idea behind putting a large animal face on the chest but if you were going to also have its eyes light up maybe rethink the position so it doesn’t look like they all have glowing nips. just a thought

29. toqger - they’re cute but very simple. the train track motif on the helmets is excellent but I wish the helmets were a little more different in shape and design

28. changeman - I really like the bodies of the suits but don’t love the helmets

27. jetman - this one was hard to place bc there are some things I LOVE like the wings of the bird on the chest extending into epaulets but I don’t like how kaori and raita don’t match everyone else

26. kakuranger - simple but they work. I wish the white accents were easier to see on tsuruhime but I’m also glad she doesn’t have pink accents lmao. I also wish the helmets were a little more distinctive but I appreciate the commitment to the ninja vibe

25. fiveman - cute! I love the little symbol on the helmets and the way the yellow chest stripe is outlined by a white chest stripe so they don’t have to change colors for yellow. also nice that the women have the same body pattern as the men with no skirts

24. kiramager - I thought these were ugly as shit at first but they grew on me. now I love the white accents on the helmets. kiramai silver is still ugly though

23. magiranger - cute. love the capes. the stripes on the men are a little overwhelming for me but I love the two women. magishine also rules

22. liveman - simple but cute. these really work for me

21. bioman - I love the bioman thigh highs and leotards. legendary

20. gaoranger - the helmets are like just goofy enough that I love them. the band across the chest with the different number of stripes is a cute touch. mostly I’m ranking them this high bc I love the asymmetry of the gaosilver suit

19. hurricaneger - love the helmets. also love that the hurricanes, gourais, and shurikenger all look different enough to be different teams but still like they belong in the same series

18. flashman - cute! the female flashmen are so good and the men are ok

17. timeranger - these slap. the colored visor and the different shaped arrows on the chest are the charm points. timefire is truly the cooler timered

16. megaranger - excellent. I’m a huge fan of the helmets which I think are simple yet classic and I really like the band across the chest with every character’s color

15. carranger - the helmets are cute and all feel distinct despite being car-based. I love the black detailing on the chest, arms, and legs. I feel like it really makes the suit stand out despite having a solid colored body

14. ryusoulger - the helmets are extremely cute and they say “dinosaur knight” 100%. the asymmetry is charming too. I still don’t know why the symbol on their chests is the ryusoul symbol though

13. ninninger - the shuriken helmets fucking rule. even now I can’t decide how I feel about the women having thigh high boots but I like the black arms and the hint of black between the skirt and boots on the women. starninger having a helmet that’s a star and a cowboy hat is legendary also

12. dairanger - love dairanger. the top of the suit looking like a little jacket is so cute. I also love the dairanger logo with all five colors. this might be the first season chronologically where I feel like they really went off with the helmets

11. go-onger - the tires around the wrists and calves are truly inspired as is the seatbelt accessory. what I really love is the little stylized number representing their respective engine partner. the go-on wings fucking rule also

10. gokaiger - they didn’t have to make the gokai suits so good when they transform into other teams every episode but they did that for us

9. gekiranger - love the main three to death, especially the helmets. the kageki powerup is also perfect. violet and chopper I don’t love as much but they look pretty slick and definitely went all out with the martial arts theming so I appreciate them

8. dekaranger - the helmets are good esp how they light up. the stylized numbers on the chests are excellent. and this was our last series where the women don’t have skirts when transformed!

7. kyoryuger - love the helmets. they’re very stylized but still recognizable as dino heads. the little details that differ between characters like silver sashes on spirit rangers and sharp teeth only on carnivorous dinos are charming to me. there are so many dino heads on each kyoryu but they’re so stylized that you might not notice at first and I love that

6. go-busters - can we please have leather style suits again. they look so good helmetless as well as with the helmet on bc they’re almost clothes that people could wear. I can’t explain why but the colored gloves are a key element to me. beet and stag also look suitably different while still part of the team

5. boukenger - I love boukenger! the white stripe up the center of the body is so simple but it really makes them stand out. the helmets having built in headlamps which are actually used in the show is my favorite

4. kyuranger - the kyuranger suits are so good… the helmets are so fun and inventive. I love the subtle silver lines running along the body and the armored crop top. the unique details characters get depending on their species are good too except maybe garu’s fur. but they still look cohesive as a team

3. goseiger - highly cute. the look of belted high waisted pants/skirt really works for me. I love the helmets and how the animal motif is only visible from the side. my favorite is the emblems on the chest corresponding to each tribe which combine to form the goseiger logo

2. shinkenger - legends only!! the triangles along the sides imitating the line of a hakama are a subtle but essential element. the kanji helmets are also perfect. they’re so simple but they don’t need any extra decoration to work

1. lupinranger/patranger - they’re so cute! ever since the suits were first revealed I’ve loved the way the base suits for the lupins and patrens are just colorswapped versions of the same suit. the way the lupins have a bow tie on the chest is super cute and I like the patrens’ corresponding tie look too. the lupins’ helmets especially have personality to them while still clearly being top hats. lupinx and patrenx both rule also. noel hogging all the good suits

I recall that I had allergy to shrimps during my childhood, but no longer today.

I’m not although I have plant-based dish much more frequently due to my place’s economy state.

I only order fast food once in a while so it’s a bit hard to choose, but so far my favorite is McDonald’s. Their fried chicken and chicken burger are great. I also love how they set up seasonal menus.

I would say it’s shitty; I laugh easily at puns (any type) and dad jokes.

Not really, maybe unless it’s something I would use frequently such as clothes and utensils?

It’s antiradiation glasses rather than regular glasses, but sometimes I do. I got the first (and only so far) pair around last year.

Depends to my mood, but I think i lean more to coffee (though I can’t drink one without any condiment; milk and some sugar are enough).

Uhh, I don’t think I do well in those “extreme” rides such as roller coaster. I prefer something calmer. I even barely go to amusement parks so idk how to explain this properly lol.

Okay, let me see. I speak regularly in Indonesian as native language irl, but when I write in social media, I also use English and sometimes Japanese. Recently I’m also trying to learn Javanese slowly; I understand the language decently but I can’t speak well.

Searching for a Savior... Kyuranger's 15th episode sets Sails for a true Savior...

- The last two episodes were spent on doing side-missions (or fillers, depends on how you see them), thus it feels appropriate when Balance shows up with a recharged Pyxis Kyu Globe. Following the two-parters for Puppis, #86 Vela the Sails constellation is up next! - Apparently, both Vela and the third one Carina, can be found in the... *drumroll* Vela and Carina System respectively. Cue the facefaults! Why even bother waiting for Pyxis when the answers are soooo on the nose?! I know that I (and possibly some others) DID complain when Puppis was found on Earth, because we kind of expected the Argo components to be scattered about in the far-off galaxy. But this is a ridiculous little-too-nice-and-blatant answer to that! At the same time, it also points out a MAJOR inconsistency, considering it has already been revealed that all three are supposed to be on Earth. Is TOEI course-correcting this show? I mean, we know they have done it for the ending dance, so it's in the realm of possibility, right? - Hammy suggests that they go to the Ocean Planet Vela (The Vela is written in Katakana this time, but seriously, can't they think of a more distinct name?) first, JUST because it has great beaches. What's with the beach? Oh yeah, because it's getting close to Summer. Duh?! The saving grace to this, is that we get to see another round of Raptor's delusion. Aaaah... I really miss this. Just like Garu's backstory, it's been a while since we saw one, huh? This time it's a swimsuit edition too, so if oogling at Android-skin is your thing, then you're in luc... okay, scratch that. No fun beach-time for the away team, because the area is... messy, polluted, and practically unswimmable. - Clearly, this has been the work of Malistrate Gonessy, who is also tricking the planet's 'uneducated' villagers to give him offerings. It seems he devises a scheme to generate a fake 'Savior', in form of a giant Nessy (or Plesiosaur... a Kyoryuger's nod, perhaps?), that convinces every villagers to trust it blindly. Well, everyone but one shy girl by the name Martha (Momone Shinokawa). She knows what's really happening, and somehow catches Gonessy red-handed. Cue the Kyurangers to step in and aide her. - Aquila Pink and Dorado Yellow team up to track Gonessy (from sky and undersea, a neat Zyuohger nod by the way), while the rest proceeds to locate the Vela Kyu Globe. Which... isn't even that HARD to find, because the villagers are openly using it as a precious relic on their offering's altar. If you ask me, they should've used the Altar constellation instead. LOL. Meanwhile, after being completely absent last week, we get to see Stinger and Champ again. It seems they just found out off-screen that Scorpio has been appointed Menaster of the Scorpio system. They report this discovery to the remaining Kyurangers on Orion, as they are closing in on his Consumarz. - Martha wants to tell her villagers about Gonessy's trick, but she's too shy to say the truth out loud. Hammy immediately relates to her situation, because she was pretty much the same back in her childhood. Before being the outspokenly annoying sarcastic blatant girl who spouts anything that comes to her mind, little ninja Hammy used to be very timid and hesitant. Yes, we DO get to see Hammy's childhood. Which is nice, because that means several seconds of her backstory (Ninja village!). After all, the morale of this episode is about the courage to speak your heart out. Sadly, I also have a problem with this scene. Can't they get another child actress who at least looks like Hammy though? And by 'looks like', I'm talking about that mole below the child's right eye. This might sound nitpicking (spoiler alert, I AM), but I'm seriously annoyed knowing that grown-up Hammy does NOT have one! Another consistency issue right there. One that could've been easily fixed by simple make-up job *sigh* - The 'Savior' demands Martha to be offered as human sacrifice, likely to cover up the truth behind his scheme. A request that feels even more disturbing, once you realize that Martha is the only children as well as female among those villagers. This is basically sexism and child abuse! Gonessy then places the blame regarding the pollution on Lucky and Hammy. For some odd reason, Naga complicates matter by painting them in a more negative light. As if they have come to steal the village's treasure. This scene seriously makes me scratch my head. Lucky's "What the heck is he doing?" is totally on point! Trivia: Can't help but wonder why the writer didn't just connect Martha's story with the Andromeda constellation? Due to the similarity, I actually thought this episode would go through that route, but it didn't. Feels like a missed opportunity... - Back on Earth, Don Armage is sending a large fleet of Consumarz to the planet to destroy it. This can only means two things: the Kyuranger isn't likely to leave the location anytime soon, and there's definitely a big secret hiding on the planet. Intriguingly, the show continues to let Scorpio's ambiguity plays out, suggesting that he might have an ulterior motive. Popular theory is that he's secretly spying on the Jark Matter, just like Stinger. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Now this one here is a good scene, but... unfortunately serves as a distraction to the main storyline of the episode. And that's not necessarily a good thing. - After much convincing, Martha finally agrees to help the Kyurangers expose Gonessy's trick. As Martha musters up her bravery to tell the truth to the other villagers, Aquila Pink uses her signature Telescopium Kyu Globe to take down Gonessy's magic assistan... er, I mean goon. Dorado Yellow then Aqua-Jets the Malistrate to the ocean's surface, by using #44 Volans Kyu Globe. A somewhat weird choice, because I think a dolphin would've been more fitting than a flying fish for this particular skillset. - Anyway, the rest follows the Super Sentai formula as usual. Gonessy gets "All Stars Crash!"-ed, grows giant, Kyuren-Oh takes the stand, sends the Malistrate along with his Consumarz to oblivion, and thus planet Vela is liberated. Nothing new to see here... although, it's always great seeing both female Kyurangers on the same away team. They even share the spotlight on the ending dance too! *grins*. Last but not least, the villagers offer the Vela Kyu Globe as a form of gratitude to their new saviors. All's well, ends well, right? - Nope, there's more. Champ and Stinger inflitrate Scorpio's Consumarz, and the Assassin/Menaster kindly greets them in person. It's a shocking brotherly reunion! Why? Because eventhough the audience have known about Scorpio's monstrous form for a while now, the same can't be said about ANY of the Kyurangers. So yeah, just imagine the look of horror on Stinger's face upon seeing how hideous his big brother has become. Yikes!!

Overall: This episode was plagued by two major inconsistencies. Although it sounds like I'm nitpicking, it's uninspiring enough to throw me off. It also felt rushed somehow, because the writers didn't even bother to give Vela Kyu Globe another two-parter, or at least tied it in directly with any of the character's story. It just... happened, that's all. Many parts simply didn't work (that whole gag with Naga came out flat and dry), although some minor elements did help compensate to prevent the episode from becoming even worse. Occasionally, this season stumbles and fumbles in trying to set up a larger plot for future stories. It tends to sacrifice an entire episode just to do so. This was undoubtedly another good case of the flaw in such narrative approach. So overall, not only it's among my least favorite episodes so far, this was also the show's new low-point. Next week: Brotherly Reunion! The fight against Scorpio is ON! Or is it...?

But if I were to give her one that is well known? It’s a custom made pie that was based off of a pie from Pizza Hut that isn’t made anymore, it’s the Rooster Teeth Podcast Pizza which consists of the following ingredients: Large Pie with Crushed Tomatos as sauce with cheese. Juru (RED)- a young aspiring artist

Shigure (BLUE)- A samurai stunt actor

Sayo (PINK)- a genius surgeon who is skilled in Akido

Sena (GREEN)- an aspiring young track star with Olympic dreams.

These five are agents of CARAT (ha, puns), a organization created by Hakataminami Muryou to prepare to defend Earth from the Yodon Army’s invasion, which he was warned of in advance by King Oradin of the planet Crystalia and the king’s daughter Princess Mabushiina. Mabushiina stays on Earth with the Mashins to support them.

Just finished watching Tensou Sentai Gosieger. Can’t believe they made a fifteen episode sentai. What are your thoughts on it?

Well, let me start off by saying I have good news for you and bad news for you.

The good news is, Tensou Sentai Goseiger is more than 15 episodes.

The bad news is, it’s one of my least favorite Sentai series.

You’ve actually pinpointed why it’s one of my least favorite in your initial submission.  It feels like it should be over about three times as it doesn’t have one continuous villain organization but three.

The Warstar (first 15 episodes)

The Yuumaju episode 17 to 32

The Matrintis episodes 33 to 44

And it ends with the one villains who has been in all these groups revealing himself to the be the big bad: Brajira

It feels like 3 or four different seasons of a show compacted down into 50 episodes.  There really isn’t much time to get to know the villains as they seem kind of disposable aside from Brajira.  The pattern goes that the heroes have trouble, gain a new power, use that power to defeat the villains and then newer, stronger villains show up so they have to get another new power to defeat that one.  It feels like lazy story construction to me.

This is not to say the show is horrible.  It has a delightful cast of adorable actors and actresses playing our leads.

They are all well suited for their roles and the story episodes they get are rather good, especially poor Gosei Blue and his sad story of why he is alone on Earth while everyone else has a partner. That episodes made him my favorite character of the show.

My biggest problems is the rotating door of villains and how it gets tedious after a while to have them show up die, get replaced, show up, die get replaced.  If you want to do a show with multiple villains groups, use GoGo Sentai Boukenger as your example.  They had four different evil groups and you were never sure which one the heroes would have to deal with from week to week.  It made things unpredictable without making the enemies seem interchangeable.

So, there are my thoughts on Tensou Sentai Goseiger.  I know a lot of folks don’t agree with me and I can see why some would love this show (the cast is, again, amazing) but it was unfortunately sandwiched between two fantastic series (Samurai Sentai Shinkenger before it and Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger after) so it’s the weak link in that period of Super Sentai.

Team TokuNet gives us a few more new details on the upcoming 44th Super Sentai Series.

Here is a promo ad from Toei showcasing the mechas. 

Red has a ruby fire engine, Blue has a sapphire jet, Yellow has a topaz excavator, Green has an emerald supercar and Pink has a kunzite or pink diamond themed helicopter (lots of gemstones can take on a pink hue so its hard to tell which). According to Toei, these vehicles will be sentient in some way, like the Engines in Go-Onger.

The theme of the show according to the producers will be how heroes “shine a light that is within us that we all can reflect” and unsurprisingly given that we already had a magic gem hero in another franchise, the bad guys are trying to steal hope away from humanity as well as try to block out that light.

Gokaiger’s Naruhisa Arakawa is going to be head writer for the show. Further details are forthcoming as we head into the new year.

On the downside, Toei has decided to make the Kiramager origin story a short film tied to the latest Vs. Sentai film, Ryusoulger vs. Lupinranger vs. Patranger. Toei refers to this as the first entry in a new film series called the Super Sentai Movie Party films. So we in the west have to wait a few months to almost an entire year just to get details on how a team forms or various other crucial details. 

I assume this is done to boost home video sales or something domestically, but this seems like a move in the wrong direction. Most people want to know what the heck is going on when jumping on board a new show. Hopefully, we all get a few snippets of info in the series pilot episode so we are not totally in the dark.
