Shredder 03 VS Fire Lord Ozai
Just a little comparison between villains.
Modeled after ancient Japan
Shredder uses the aesthetic of the Demon Shredder and ancient Japanese warrior turned demon, using his human name and armor appearance to use the reputation already associated with it.
The Entire production of Avatar the Last Aribender uses influence from various Asian cultures. The Fire Nation takes most of its influence from Japan.
World Domination Through Technological Superiority
Shredder uses his knowledge of Utrom technology to convince ancient Japanese people he deserves the reputation of The Shredder. He employs scientists and gives them resources to advance technology for his domination designs.
During the Hundred Year War, the Fire Nation was able to use it’s position as a colonizing power to exploit the resources of the other nations and advance it’s own technology while the other nations had to use their resources to defend against the Fire Nation.
Pit their Henchmen against each other
Ozai deliberately pits his children against each other as projections of his own insecurities. He projects all his doubts and failures on Zuko, Ursa’s favorite child who represented her love for another man. He projects all his nationalism and success on Azula, his favorite child. By pitting them against each other, he gets their loyalty and the catharsis of His Child beating Ursa’s Child.
Shredder pits his henchmen against each other to keep their loyalty and motivation focused on him and his approval. Having Karai threaten Hun’s place as Shredder’s right hand man is supposed to force him to focus on fulfilling his orders, despite the fact that his failures are directly tied to the Turtles’ interference. Shredder thought that by threatening Stockman’s ego with replacement, it would motivate him to prove he was better.
They’ve Got Better Things to Do
Fire Lord Ozai is focused on World Domination! The Gaang are an obstacle to that goal and nothing more. Ozai is relatively unconcerned with the Avatar, worried enough to send his kids after him but not enough to want to do anything himself.
Shredder’s main goal isn’t killing the turtles, it’s getting off of Earth so he can go get his army and come back for world domination. He only goes after the turtles when he thinks he can manipulate Leo into joining the dark side, and after that he would have ignored the turtles if they didn’t keep getting in his way.
Formidable Opponents Who Fight as Little as possible
Ozai is seen very rarely before season 3, He’s in flashbacks all of season 1 and 2, there’s one time the audience hears his voice at the end of season1 where we see Azula for the first time. He is the motivation of Zuko and Azula, the main antagonists for season 1 and 2 respectively. But once he is on screen in the final battle with Aang, Ozai is so powerful, Aang has to pull out The Avatar State in order to beat him. And Ozai’s will is so strong he nearly wins when Aang does the energy bending.
While Shredder is on screen more than Ozai, he is still primarily a planner, he waits and manipulates others into doing his work for him. He only fights the turtles after he’s sent everyone else to weaken them, only winning that battle through ambush. In every fight with him, the problem is everyone he’s surrounded himself with. It’s the army of faceless ninja, the tech-ninja, the mystic warriors, Hun, and especially Karai. Shredder could very possibly be easily managed threat in a straight fight with four teenagers, but he’s a strategist willing to wait for the perfect opportunity to strike.

nah people who say season1-5 of supernatural are "superior" to the recent seasons are ????.... why would you prefer watching John winchester rather than Jack, Rowena and Charlie
i mean the Vibe of the early seasons was much sexier and the characters were more coherent plus they had the benefit that they could still up the stakes and that sam and dean were the underdogs back then. like i definitely understand liking them or liking them better it's just nothing that makes you in any way superior to people who prefer the other eras because let's face it the real reason any of us like supernatural is nostalgia and projection

The Rookie Live Blog
2x17 Control
General thoughts on the episode.
So, I think I’m getting a little old for slow burns. I get that they shouldn’t be together right now because he’s her direct superior, but I do get tired of the devices show runners use to keep a couple apart. First he dated someone else, then she has to dat someone else, then they usually have the “we can’t do this because we work together” talk. There’s a lot of hot and cold. One minute they’re in each other’s pockets and then there’s a total halt on any development. I was actually expecting it several episodes back. I thought Tim would act weir and distant once Lucy got back to work, but he didn’t. There was a lot more development after that. So the buckets of cold water we’ve gotten these last 3 episodes has been... tiring.
Tim was being really harsh at the beginning of this episode. Out of character harsh. Back to season1 harsh. We don’t need that. We get it, you’re not putting them together right now. When they finally talked it out in the shop, that was good, but not great. I felt that conversation deserved a little more time and weight.
The paramedic is super cute. I like to see Lucy happy. I will grin and bear it through the stupid formula. But I feel like there’s been a lot of buzz around the Rookie lately and a lot of new viewers. Mostly because of Tim and Lucy. The writers are dialing it back way too much, they’re losing the magic. I hope they don’t lose the viewers as well

@1havenoidea So apparently Clara didn’t love Tomás, I will write you a whole ass essay explaining why (In Season1) He was superior.....
but also, yes, Violetta and Roxy are clearly the better ship. Meant to be, so compatible

AOS Rewatch: S1E7 “The Hub”
Love that extraction.
“Where are the dogs?” *adjusts tie* “Don’t be ridiculous”
“Whatever you do, don’t breath.” Agent Shaw holds his breath. "That was a joke.” She’s so precious.
Jemma getting so excited about the Hub. Have I mentioned she’s precious?
Sitwell. Hydra Scum!
Victoria Hand. **swoon** She’s scary, but also so—just like—I have respect for her. (Maybe not in this episode but definitely later on.)
“Do you mean?” — “I think she does.” — **pan to Fitz and the sliding door**
Can we just appreciate the piece of art that is that sliding door scene?
Jemma being nervous and Fitz trying to play it cool (yet not refusing the antivenin pack). Those two are just—
**touches his hand** “You’ll be careful?” **UGLY CRYING**
“Oh, I almost forgot. I made you this.” **EXCITED SCREAMING. THE SANDWICH!!!!!!!!**
Tumblr media
That little Jemma Simmons nose crunch. **patent pending**
Jemma being nervous. No one touch the night-night gun.
“Which non-expression is this?” Hehehe.
Coulson stumbling over “It’s a magical place.” EEEK!
“How long can you hold your breath under water?” — “I don’t know.” — “Are you familiar with the term ‘slam and cram’”? — “No. And I don’t think I want to be.” — “How attached are you to your pinky?” — “Very, very attached. And before you ask another terrifyingly vague question let me be clear: any plan that involves even one of those scenarios isn’t going to work for me.” MUHAHAHA. I love their interactions.
“I can't be a part of your bad girl shenanigans. I like following the rules, and doing what’s expected of me. It makes me feel nice.” Season1!Jemma is so relatable to me it hurts. Also, I’m still hoping to level up to later badass!Jemma’s
“Fitz? Tortured?” And that’s all it takes to make Jemma Anne Simmons jump into action.
“Of course, mishka.” Everyone falls in love with little bear—I mean Fitz.
“It’s nothing. Really. I’m just a man.” non-humble Fitz at his best.
Underappreciated genius totally saved the day.
“Already moving. Hurry up.” **LOL**
One does not simply interrupt Melinda May when she does her tai-chi.
That entire scene between Jemma and Sitwell is so painful yet so brilliant and hilarious. “You certainly have a gorgeous head.”
One does not simply throw away the special sandwich!
Anyone else relieved that that truck drove precisely over that mag pouch and not a hint to the left or right? I’ll just ignore realism here :D
Ward realizing there’s no extraction team.
“This will take awhile.” — “You have 10 minutes.” — “I thought you’d say 5.”
“I am every bit the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent you are.” Oh, Fitz, you’re so much better than him.
“And I’m bloody starving.” That’s my Fitz. #relatable
“I just did that?... Okay. Let’s go.” Precious lion getting more confident.
Hand’s little smile at the end. See, she’s nice. She just doesn’t like people to see it.
“Well done, Fitz.” Jemma being so proper when really she was so worried and probably just wants to hug him and ensure herself he’s really okay. They’re so precious.
Fitz lying about the sandwich. **ugly crying**
The face you make when Jemma Anne Simmons tells you that she shot a superior officer in the chest.
Skye learning more about her past. **ugly crying**
Coulson trying to get access to his own file and being denied. EEEEEK!
Bonus: I wrote an alternate universe fic that features the final Fitzsimmons scene of this episode in Chapter 2 (and Fitzsimmons realizing their feelings for each other a lot sooner than in canon ;) ): Agree to Disagree

A day after the 35th anniversary of the Famicom, it's the 11th anniversary of the first-ever episode of Famicom Dojo!
We review the Famicom, its launch title Popeye, and the Famicom Disk System (FDS) attachment that was never released outside of Japan.
Released in 1983, the Family Computer (“Famicom”, for short) is Nintendo’s first home video game console, serving as the basis for their rise to power -- even though it was heavily redesigned when it was brought to North America and the rest of the world two years later as the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES).
In our first episode of Famicom Dojo, we explore the differences in the console’s features compared to the NES, and show how the Famicom Disk System versions of games are completely superior to any of the Cartridge-based ones we got in the US.

I'm still on season1 of druck and I wanna watch but I'm always seeing a druck stan doing some sort of ~ oh so this is why druck is superior, cough cough skam france " post sjdjakssjaksjannajaj and this is so petty and childish? like they were acting like it was a big sin that samedi had the guys shirtless and druck was superior because they were wearing hoodies. superior remake because being shirtless in bed is sexualizing teenagers :/// +
+ I hate when people on tumblr use the DUMBEST arguments as an attempt to sound morally superior and as if this was actually "valid criticism" when they in fact just being petty. so I end up never watching druck. and I remember druck fandom was already like this durimg season 1 and it was one of the reasons I dropped
this is definitely why i put off watching druck for so long because the fandom has always been iffy and then i got into it and now i’m just constantly always let down and upset. it sucks that it’s like this :/
