love letters || hazbin x reader
with alastor, lucifer, sir pentious, angel dust, husk, & vox!
You think you're being sooo sneaky leaving all these sweet love letters for your favorite guy. You're not. They 100% know but if they'll do anything about it is another question entirely.
tags: gn!reader! but implied male/masc reader for Angel ofc :3 mostly fluff!! mildly suggestive in Luci's & Vox's, slight angst for Angel, mention of alcohol consumption in Husk's! Alastor being his usual self lmao
Tumblr media
Alastor
You must think you are quite the clever little thing, leaving such sweet notes around for anyone to find. Little letters you think he doesn't know come from you. His shadows haunt every crevice aware of all that goes on within the hotel's interior, and especially those that dwell within his radio tower. It is amusing watching you slither into his abode to leave yet another sweetly decorated note on his control panel while Alastor lurks within the darker corners of his tower. Scarlet eyes soaking you in like a lion hunting a gazelle.
Then, like smoke, you slip out the hatch and down the ladder towards the hotel as quickly as death. Trying to seem casual, whistling an off-key tune.
Curious, he grins. What a curious creature you are, hmm? He picks the letter up, his red claw caressing the crease of the seal. His name stares up at him, written in exquisite cursive and emboldened red ink he wished was blood.
With a single claw he slits open the top of the envelope with the precision of a surgeon's scalpel, withdrawing its contents that had piqued his interest. Immediately, his smirk widens. Positively Cheshire-like.
"My, my, darling. You are endearing, I hope you know that!" Alastor cooed with crackling static. He traced his finger along the penmanship.
He pictures you hunched over your desk fretting over such a delicate piece of stationery. Your words oozed admiration for the Radio Demon. How truly touching! The sentiment was most definitely mutual. Next time, he'll be sure to catch you in the act, little lamb.
Lucifer
The King of Hell was quick to move in upon Charlie's insistence. Eager to make up for lost time with his daughter, he takes on all sorts of tasks and attends every event she has planned. Every team-building exercise, there was Lucifer at the forefront; lest his rubber duck depression returned.
Initially, he's quite confused by the sight of a white and gold foiled envelope placed neatly on the center of his pillow when he returns to his quarters to rest. He's never seen his name written with such care. The scent of love and genuine fondness exudes from the small parcel and tempts his senses. It catches him off guard, a puff of hot air escaping his lips, blinking owlishly.
He's lightheaded as he reads the letter with one hand braced against the wall beside him. An apple-red blush coats his cheeks and creeps down his neck. The scent of you clouds his mind and corrupts his thoughts. He's starting to feel dizzy yet oh-so-happy!
You... You wrote this didn't you, sweetling? Red eyes wash over the page. He closes his eyes and presses the letter to his lips as he leans his back into the wall. It's surely from you, but why didn't you just come and talk to him instead of being all mysterious and cryptic? Has he not made his affections for you clear enough? Perhaps you were shy and felt more confident in staying anonymous.
Lucifer couldn't promise you or himself that he wouldn't go and find you immediately after he calmed down enough to be well-composed in a public space. He was practically vibrating with excitement.
Shaking out his hands and jumping in place, Lucifer straightens his tie. If all goes to plan, he'll have you snuggled in his warm embrace as he flies over Pentagram City before sundown.
Of course, he will make sure all six of his massive wings are preened and looking their best first. Hey, he is the King of Hell after all! He's gonna show off for you a little.
"Alright, darlin', I hope you're ready for a night on the town." Lucifer sucked in a sharp breath and exited his room swiftly making his way to you.
Sir Pentious
Sweet man is so flabbergasted! Surely this is a prank, yes? No? Oh my, then that must mean--! His pupils dilate and water, a big cheesy grin sneaks across his cheeks. His tail swishes behind him lightly and it's hard to fight the blush off his cheeks. It takes everything in him to collect his breath as he clutches the letter to his chest.
"What'cha got there, boss?" Points out one of his Egg Bois. Sir Pentious all but squeaks and shoves the paper unceremoniously into his breast pocket.
Pentious rasps, "No-nothing that needs to concern you!"
"Oh, okay!" Chirps his Egg Boi, waddling off.
Sir Pentious sighs, slitted eyes wander over to where you sit at the bar engaged in deep conversation with Angel and Husk. There's a weird tug in his chest he's never felt before. A longing. You catch his eye and give a gentle smile and offer him a tiny wave which he returns eagerly. He sighs dreamily, coiling in on his tails. I hope I may catch you at a more opportune time, my heart.
Angel Dust
Whenever he's had a particularly rough night at Valentino's, Angel retrieves a pastel blue shoe box from deep within his closest, almost completely filled to the brim with letters, gifts, and keepsakes you'd given him. Even the silly little half-assed doodle you made of him as a spider. He saved it all.
You're so cute, thinking that you're all anonymous when you are absolutely not, leaving him the cutest fuckin' letters that make him want to explode. It's nice. Having someone want you and not for sex. The pure heart of gold of yours was gonna be the double-death of him.
Angel hasn't quite worked up the nerve to ask you out yet. It's something he ponders every day, especially when reading your newest letter. He feels too stuck, too... Fucked up. That's not something he'd wanna put on you. You've never treated him like anything but a person. You saw the real him.
Instead, he lives for your letters. Wishing things could be different, that he could find the power to cut the contract with Valentino, and truly become yours when he's no longer that fucker's pet.
His eyes well with tears as he cradles your latest letter, praising him for how well he'd done at Charlie's little team-building experiment. He pretends it's you that he's holding. His fingers combing through your hair, smiling to himself when you lazily lean up his body to kiss him ever-so-softly. A true kiss made of real love, not lust. You snuggle into his chest fluff with your arms around his waist.
"Baby, I," with a blink, Angel is back to reality. The weight on his chest had only been a snoozing Fat Nuggets. Angel sighs, stroking his little buddy's ears. "Maybe one day, I can be strong enough for both of us, baby." He says out loud, hoping your heart will find his words.
Husk
He's quick to snatch the new letter up before anyone else sees, sending his half-drunk whiskey all across the countertop with a clang. Husk cussed under his breath, stashing your thankfully dry letter beneath the bar for safe-keeping until he could read it later.
"Why'dja gotta leave it out in the open?" Husk grumbles without malice. The playful sway of his raised feathery tail and soft hum as he wipes up his spilled drink was always a good sign of his rare, pleasant mood.
You're growing more and more bold with each letter. Leaving them places where someone other than Husk could accidentally misinterpret them: Charlie.
The last thing he needed was the well-meaning Princess of Hell to overextend herself and start playing matchmaker. Husker was doing just aces on his own. His love life was his and his alone to fuss about. He finished cleaning up the bar for the night, keeping the booze secure in its display case until the following day.
Husk peruses the letter freely in the privacy of his bedroom, one arm folded beneath his head. His golden eyes flicked from word to word. His pupils expand as he exhales an airy chuckle, lingering on the word handsome. The sound of his own trill rumbling in his throat startles him enough to drop the letter and slam his elbow into his nightstand.
Hissing, Husk pressed his palms against his shut eyelids. "Fuck, baby, ya really got this ol' cat comin' undone, huh? Sneaky little minx." He lied back down with a huff. "If only ya knew." His eyes slip shut. Tomorrow. Husk would finally approach you tomorrow.
Vox
"I see you still don't wanna text these, huh, baby?" Vox scoops up the letter taking residence on his seat, hastily clawing it open. He plops down on his chair, leaning back. "Too shy to be so vulnerable for me?" Vox's sharp-toothed grin spreads wide across his display screen, red dripping from the corner of his mouth as he hungrily drinks in your words.
"You are too fuckin' cute, aren't'cha, darlin'?" Vox chuckles, smashing his fist against his console with triumph. A bolt of electricity spirals around the system, causing him to yelp as it spans across the entire city. He created another blackout. "FUCK."
Vox is at your doorstep in a matter of minutes despite the darkness of Pentagram City. The forever-flushed red sky is light enough to find your apartment building. He's dressed in a new suit and feigned ignorance when you opened your door, holding a new letter. Surprised to see him there. Hah, caught with your hand in the fuckin' cookie jar, babe.
Allowing him into your home, Vox easily towers over you with a big grin. You looked fuckin' adorable, staring up at him so meekly.
"You didn't need to hide your feelings from me, sweetheart." He gently tilts your chin upwards. A single cyan claw grazes the line of your jaw, sliding to cup your cheek with his full palm.
"Vox, I," you stammer. Your sentence goes no further than those two small words. Vox traces your lower lip with the tip of his sharp thumb, smiling as your eyes flutter shut. He waits to see if you continue to speak and when you don't, he nods and tugs you to him by your hips. You gasp against him and he smiles, a bit softer now.
"I know, baby. I've gotcha," Vox's mouth presses tight to yours, lifting you up further into his arms for better access. Electricity soon ignites the house and city, Velvette must've gotten things running again.

Newly leaked files from the world’s leading transgender health-care organization reveal it is pushing hormonal and surgical transitions for minors, including stomach-wrenching experimental procedures designed to create sexless bodies that resemble department-store mannequins.
The World Professional Association for Transgender Health documents demonstrate it’s controlled by gender ideologues who push aside concerns about whether children and adolescents can consent to medical treatments that WPATH members privately acknowledge often have devastating and permanent side effects.
Yet the US government, American doctors and prominent organizations nonetheless rely on WPATH guidelines for advice on treating our youth.
The files — jaw-dropping conversations from a WPATH internal messaging board and a video of an Identity Evolution Workshop panel — were provided to journalist Michael Shellenberger, who shared the documents with me.
Shellenberger’s nonprofit Environmental Progress will release a scathing summary report, comparing the WPATH promotion of “the pseudoscientific surgical destruction of healthy genitals in vulnerable people” to the mid-20th-century use of lobotomies, “the pseudoscientific surgical destruction of healthy brains.”
‘Arbitrary’ age limits
The comparison to one of history’s greatest medical scandals is not hyperbole.
It is particularly true, as the files show repeatedly, when it involves WPATH’s radical approach to minors.
When the organization adopted in 2022 its current Standards of Care — relied on by the National Institutes of Health, the World Health Organization and every major American medical and psychiatric association — it scrapped a draft chapter about ethics and removed minimum-age requirements for children starting puberty blockers or undergoing sexual-modification surgeries.
It had previously recommended 16 to start hormones and 17 for surgery.
Not surprisingly, age comes up frequently in the WPATH files, from concerns about whether a developmentally delayed 13-year-old can start on puberty blockers to whether the growth of a 10-year-old girl will be stunted by hormones.
During one conversation, a member asked for advice about a 14-year-old patient, a boy who identified as a girl and had begun transitioning at 4.
The child insisted on a vaginoplasty, a surgery that removes the penis, testicles and scrotum and repositions tissue to create a nonfunctioning pseudo-vagina. It requires a lifetime of dilation. Was he too young at 14?
Marci Bowers, WPATH’s president and a California-based pelvic and gynecologic surgeon who is herself transgender, said she considered any age limit “arbitrary.”
But she would not do it. Why?
“The tissue is too immature, dilation routine too critical.”
In lay terms, that means boys who are too young do not have enough penal tissue for the surgery and the surgeon must harvest intestinal lining to build the faux vagina. Even Bowers admits that can lead to “problematic surgical outcomes.”
She would know since she has performed more than 2,000 vaginoplasties. Her highest-profile patient is 17-year-old Jazz Jennings, the transgender star of reality TV show “I Am Jazz.”
Three corrective surgeries were required to fix problems from the original vaginoplasty.
“She had a very difficult surgical course,” Bowers admitted in a 2022 appearance on the show. “We knew it would be tough — it turned out tougher than any of us imagined.”
Still, Bowers told her colleagues in the internal discussion forum of the best age for an adolescent to undergo surgery: “sometime before the end of high school does make some sense in that they are under the watch of parents in the home they grew up in.”
Christine McGinn, a Pennsylvania plastic surgeon and herself transgender, agreed. McGinn has performed “about 20 vaginoplasties in patients under 18” and thinks the “ideal time in the U.S. is surgery the summer before the last year of high school. I have heard many other surgeons echo this.”
Waiting until teens are older than 18 and in college is problematic, she said: “there are too many stressors in college that limit patients’ ability to dilate.”
Dangers downplayed
WPATH assures patients that surgical and hormonal interventions are tested and safe. It is a different matter in private.
President Bowers, for instance, said publicly in 2022 that puberty blockers are “completely reversible,” although in the internal forum she conceded it is “in its infancy.”
What about children who are infertile for life since they started hormone blockers before they reached puberty?
Bowers told her colleagues the “fertility question has no research.”
At other stages, members talk frankly about the complications for the transition surgery for girls, a phalloplasty in which a nonfunctioning pseudo-penis is fashioned from either forearm or thigh tissue.
It requires a full hysterectomy and surgical removal of the vagina. They also discuss other serious consequences, including pelvic inflammatory disease, vaginal atrophy, abnormal pap tests and incontinence.
A 16-year-old girl who had been on puberty blockers for several years before she was put on testosterone for a year had developed two liver tumors that an oncologist concluded the hormones had caused. Another member described “a young patient on testosterone for 3 years” who had developed “vaginal/pelvic pain/spotting . . . [and] atrophy with the persistent yellow discharge.”
Several colleagues described patients with similar conditions, some with debilitating bowel problems or bleeding and excruciating pain during sex (“feeling like broken glass”).
Vaginal estrogen creams and moisturizers as well as hyaluronic acid suppositories “can be helpful.”
One WPATH member seemed surprised: “The transgender people under my surveillance do not complain about this matter. However, I confess that I have never asked them about it.”
Rise of ‘de-gender’ surgery
The litany of transition surgery’s side effects did not stop WPATH from endorsing far more radical “nullification” surgeries for patients who do not feel either male or female and identify only as nonbinary.
Several dozen so-called “de-gendering” surgeries are designed to create a sexless, smooth cosmetic appearance that is unknown in nature. There is even an experimental “bi-genital” surgery that attempts to construct a second set of genitals.
In 2017, when tabloids reported a 22-year-old man had spent $50,000 to surgically remove his sex organs so he could “transform into a genderless extra-terrestrial,” it seemed a one-off oddity.
But WPATH has enshrined that concept in its Standard of Care — the same document in which the group endorsed for the time first time chemical or surgical castration for patients who identify as eunuchs. (WPATH even linked to the Eunuch Archives, where men anonymously share castration fetishes.)
These science-fiction-like surgeries are not only reserved for adults.
“How do we come up with appropriate standards for non-binary patients?” asked Thomas Satterwhite, a San Francisco-based plastic surgeon who has operated on dozens of patients younger than 18 since 2014. “I’ve found more and more patients recently requesting ‘non-standard’ procedures.”
What are nonstandard procedures? They include “non-binary top surgery,” a mastectomy without nipples. There are brutal procedures for girls that eliminate all or part of the vagina and for boys that amputate the penis, scrotum and testicles.
The goal, as one San Francisco surgical clinic proclaims on its website, “is a smooth, neutral body that is cosmetically free of sexual identification.” On TikTok the trend is called a “flat front.”
‘Too young to understand‘
A particularly intense subject of discussion was whether minors could understand the lifelong consequences of their gender treatments. Minors are presumed by law to be incapable of making an informed decision about having a vasectomy or tubal ligation.
Gender surgeries are an exception, however.
WPATH’s Standard of Care allows all procedures so long as the minor “demonstrates the emotional and cognitive maturity required to provide informed consent/assent for the treatment.”
In a May 2022 internal workshop, “Identity Evolution,” WPATH members conceded that was all but impossible.
Daniel Metzger, the British Columbia endocrinologist who cowrote the Canadian Pediatric Society’s position paper on health care for trans minors, said, “I think the thing you have to remember about kids is that we’re often explaining these sorts of things to people who haven’t even had biology in high school yet.”
Metzger noted adolescents are incapable of appreciating the lifelong consequence of infertility. “It’s always a good theory that you talk about fertility preservation with a 14-year-old,” he said, “but I know I’m talking to a blank wall. They’d be like, ‘ew, kids, babies, gross.’ Or, the usual answer is, ‘I’m just going to adopt.’ And then you ask them, ‘Well, what does that involve? Like, how much does it cost?’ ‘Oh, I thought you just like went to the orphanage, and they gave you a baby.’ . . . I think now that I follow a lot of kids into their mid-twenties, I’m always like, ‘Oh, the dog isn’t doing it for you, right?’”
There is extensive research showing adolescent brains are wired to have little control over rash behavior and are not capable of grasping the magnitude of decisions with lifelong consequences. It is why society doesn’t allow teens to get tattoos or buy guns. Car-rental agencies set 25 as the minimum age for renting a car, and Sweden sets the same limit for deciding on sterilization.
Detransitioners ignored, shunned
Although many WPATH members privately doubt that adolescents can give truly informed consent to life-altering procedures, they must affirm whatever children say about their gender.
Unless, the WPATH files disclose, the patient wants to reverse course and become a so-called detransitioner.
WPATH members mostly dismiss those cases as insignificant or overblown by the media and question whether minors who want to revert to their birth sex really understand what they are doing.
It’s a question that would never be asked for minors who declared themselves to be gender dysphoric.
One case involved a 17-year-old boy, just graduated from high school, who had been on testosterone for two years. He was reported to be “very distraught and angry. He reports he feels he was brainwashed and is upset by the permanent changes to his body.”
A self-described “queer therapist” did not believe any young person could be brainwashed. “In my experience, those stories come from people who have an active agenda against the rights of trans people.”
WPATH President Bowers said that “I do see talk of the phenomenon [detransitioners] as distracting from the many challenges we face.”
‘Frankenstein files’
The leaked files put a spotlight on the danger of mixing ideological activism with medicine and science. They should serve as an urgent wakeup call for the medical associations and government agencies that rely on WPATH guidance for transgender health.
The files might even prompt investigations into how those with distorted personal agendas seized control of the organization at the expense of science and patients.
Investigating what has gone wrong at WPATH might prove uncomfortable for some gender progressives in the Biden administration, none more so than Adm. Rachel Levine, the assistant secretary for health. Levine, the first transgender four-star military officer, is a WPATH member and has lavished praise on the organization.
She says it “assesses the full state of the science and provides substantive, rigorously analyzed, peer-reviewed recommendations to the medical community on how best to care for patients who are transgender or gender non-binary. It is free of any agenda other than to ensure that medical decisions are informed by science.”
Either Levine is unaware of the hormonal and surgical experimentation the group promotes or refuses to acknowledge it.
“The Frankenstein files.”
That is how a pediatrician described the leaked documents after I shared them with her.
Unfortunately, this is no horror novel.
It is a medical travesty playing out in real time, and the casualties are our children.

Little Tea Cakes (Jean x Reader)
Synopsis: You and Jean were left to hold down the fort, but when night falls, and your friends aren’t back yet, you start to worry. Jean has the perfect plan to take your mind off of things and enjoy your cozy night in.
Word Count: 2k
Tags/Warnings: Fluff
Notes: I’m ready to make this recipe
Tumblr media
You stared out the window, practically curled up on the ledge as you waited. Jean had lit lanterns that flickered on the outside porch. If it weren’t for those, you wouldn’t have been able to see how the rain poured down in sheets outside in the blackness.
You saw his reflection as he loitered behind you, unsure what to say. With the night as dark as it was, you could see in the glass how his mouth opened and closed again as he put his hands on his hips. He stared momentarily, watching as you kept your eye on the night.
“They’re fine,” he finally said. Jean slipped his fingers into the pockets of his slacks. He didn’t exactly sound sure of himself. “I’m sure they’ll be back any minute now.”
“It’s coming down really hard out there,” you trailed off, rubbing the underside of your bottom lip with your finger. A large puddle had begun to form at the bottom of the wooden steps outside your cabin. You looked over your shoulder at Jean. “What if something happened to them, and they need our help?”
Jean came to stand next to you, leaning the slightest bit back against the dining table. He stood with you, looking out the window at the storm. The wind howled outside, causing a few hung lanterns to sway and knock against the wood paneling. You watched the reflection again as Jean bowed his head acutely toward you. You noted the shrug of his shoulders.
“Captain Levi’s with them. They’re probably just caught up kickin’ ass.” Jean gave you a gentle nudge, but you couldn’t tear your eyes away from the window.
A moment went by as the rain continued to pour. You found yourself lost in your worries, hardly registering as Jean pivoted to stand in front of you. A warm touch found your forearm. Your head shot up as you broke out of your daydreaming, and he gestured again with his head.
“C’mon,” he said with a semblance of a sigh. You blinked a few times, caught off guard by your own spacing. Jean tugged at the fabric of your sleeve, gesturing again toward the kitchen. He repeated himself, and reluctantly, you let yourself be dragged over to the sink. You looked back over your shoulder.
“But—”
“They’re fine.” Jean washed his hands with the rigor of a surgeon, leaving the water running as he motioned for you to do the same. You followed as he proceeded to raid the cabinets. You waited, drying your hands on a towel hung on the island in the center of the kitchen.
Jean closed a cabinet somewhere to your left. You almost jumped as Jean placed a large mixing bowl in front of you. You stared into his honey-colored irises.
“No use in worrying about something you can’t control.” He ducked down for a moment to pull something out of the island’s storage. Jean placed the container on the counter and shoved a cup between your fingers. “Two of those in the bowl,” he said, patting the container.
You did as you were told, and by the time you were finished, several other supplies had appeared on the counter. He handed you a series of spoons, giving similar instructions for the next three ingredients before Jean wandered off to start the oven. The rain continued to pour outside.
“What are we making?” you finally asked, staring down at the bowl of mixed powders. Jean appeared to your right with a pile of sliced butter cubes and a tool that looked more like a claw than a kitchen utensil.
“Tea cakes,” he answered softly, dumping the butter into your mixture. He handed you the claw. “My mom used to make them on rainy days. I’m sure everyone will love them when they get back.” You stared at the appliance in your hand, missing the pink that tinged Jean’s cheeks.
“What am I supposed to do with this?”
“It’s to mix the butter in so that the mixture becomes crumbly.”
You gave him an uneasy look, gingerly placing the pastry cutter into the mixture and attempting to mix. Jean hummed apprehensively, his hand hovering over the bowl before firmly placing it over yours.
“Like this,” he muttered, maneuvering himself behind you as he guided your hand. He held your opposite elbow as you kept the bowl steady, almost as if you’d shatter in his arms at any moment. Focused on your task, you hardly noticed the bright shade of red that slowly overtook the pink on Jean’s face.
Once the mixture turned crumbly and the butter was well incorporated, Jean pulled away from you, his retreating body heat leaving a small chill in his wake. He exchanged your larger bowl of dry ingredients for a smaller one, placing two eggs in front of you with a cup of milk, honey, and a tiny dish of flavoring. During the time it took to measure the dry materials, it had apparently been enough time for him to portion out all the wet ingredients.
One by one, you added them to the new bowl. Jean took the discarded eggshells for the compost and tiny dishes that held the preportioned ingredients to the sink. You went to place the pastry cutter back into the bowl of wet ingredients to demonstrate what Jean had just taught you, but Jean gently replaced the claw with a wooden spoon instead.
You smiled at him sheepishly. Jean leaned on the counter, ankles crossed as he leaned on his elbows, watching as you beat the wet ingredients. Once incorporated, you were instructed to pour the liquid into the flour mixture. Jean watched you work as raindrops continued to hit the rooftop.
“See, you’re already getting the hang of it.” Jean nodded. You worked the spoon to incorporate the bit of flour left over on the side of the bowl.
“Did you eat these a lot growing up?” You slide the finished batter toward him. Jean had already prepared a greased baking tin.
“More than I’d like to admit.” He let out a light chuckle. The softness in his voice wasn’t lost on you as he spooned the batter into the tin. He scraped down the sides before handing you the bowl to put in the sink. “A lot of rainy days, I guess.”
You took to the dishes as he placed the tin in the oven. You stared out the window as the remaining batter stuck to the bowl washed down the drain. You were just starting to wonder what you did on rainy days as a kid when you felt a gentle nudge.
“I got it,” Jean said, gradually prodding you out of the way until you had no choice but to leave the bowl and sponge. His sleeves were rolled up to his elbows, and once the sponge had been replenished with soap, he took to vigorous scrubbing.
You studied him: the way his bangs waved with his efforts, the curve of his nose, and the squareness of his chin. He placed the first clean bowl onto the drying rack, eyes flickering up toward the window for a split second as a clap of thunder resounded throughout the sky. Jean pursed his lip, and as he met your gaze briefly, he quickly glanced away. You wondered if he was as secretly worried as you were.
You tugged open the cabinet to your right. Luckily, the kettle didn’t sit too high up.
Jean had just finished the dishes by the time you came to fill up the kettle. His brows twisted up in confusion as you pivoted the faucet. You offered him a shrug. Jean dried his hands on a nearby rag.
“You said tea cakes. What’s a tea cake without tea?”
“Mama always served them with milk,” he trailed off, the movement of his hands slowing as he found himself lost in thought. The realization of what he said aloud must’ve hit him instantly. His eyes widened, only to be met with your mounting expression of amusement. “I, uh—! I mean—”
“Don’t worry, Jean-boy. I’ll grab some milk,” you said, putting the kettle on before making a beeline to the fridge. Jean continued to fidget with the towel in his hands.
“You really remember that?” he asked sheepishly, a twinge of cringe causing his eye to twitch. You prepared two cups, placing a milk carafe between the two of you. The air in the kitchen had already begun to smell sweet.
“Nothing wrong with having a mother who loves you.” You poured him a glass of milk. “How is she doing?” You stood across the island from him, watching the oven.
“She’s alright.” Jean nodded, slowly picking up the cup. He brought it to his lips. “I think she gets anxious while I’m away. Lonely.” You played with your empty cup with a sigh.
“That must be tough… You should visit her when all of this is over. I’m sure that after all the chaos, we’ll get to take a bit of a break.” Jean let out an amused puff, staring off at the near-boiling kettle.
“Think so?”
“I’m sure she’d be happy to see you. Know that you’ve been thinking about her.” Jean didn’t get a chance to respond, cut off by the high-pitched whistling of the tea kettle. You perked up in surprise. “Oh, that was quick.” You grabbed the hand towel that Jean had thrown on the counter.
“I should probably pull out the tea cakes.”
By the time you reconvened at the kitchen island, Jean had already put down two trivets. The tea cake had puffed up into a golden, brown pastry that steamed deliciously in the dark pan. You fixed yourself a cup of tea, cooing over the hot dessert.
“That looks so good!” you exclaimed, the smell alone making you impatient to try. The corners of Jean’s lips twitched upward into a boyish grin. He gestured to you with a bow of his head.
“Well, it was all you. You should be proud of your good work,” he said, leaning the side of his cheek in his palm as he studied the shiny top. “I’ll cut it into squares when it cools down a little.” The thunder that cracked outside sounded so far away.
“Thank you,” you said, playing with the warm rim of your cup. “For distracting me and for sharing this.” You met his eye just in time to see the visible gentleness overtake his expression. Jean’s shoulders relaxed as he nodded.
“Of course.”
A figure moved on the balcony, passing through your peripheral. Just as quickly as you saw it, the front door slammed open. A dripping-wet Captain Levi stormed through the door, removing his boots at the entryway before stalking to his quarters. He gave you a stout, meaningful look as he went, and wordlessly, you worked on preparing him a cup of tea. The rest of the squad followed, a chorus of compliments about the aroma from the kitchen jumbled together as the squad shuffled to the kitchen.
“Oh wow!” Sasha cried, practically drooling at the sight of the warm, golden pastry. Jean shooed her away, waving the hand towel at her as he protected the dessert the two of you had worked so hard on.
“Hey! You’re dripping everywhere!” he chided with a scowl. Jean crossed his arms. “There’s enough for everyone once you’re dry.”
“You don’t gotta tell us twice. I’ve been wanting to change out of these wet clothes all day.” Connie tugged at Sasha’s leather straps in exhaustion. “C’mon, I’m ready to get warm.” You pulled out some more mugs.
“I’ll make everyone some tea!” you smiled, relieved that all your friends made it back safe. You missed the sentimental expression on Jean’s face as he stared at you.
“I’ll cut the cake!”
Thank you to all who liked, reblogged, followed, and supported. Your support means so much and is greatly appreciated.
Notes: I am definitely Jean when it comes to baking, so it was kinda fun writing someone who doesn’t bake haha. It was hard writing this because all I did was want to make the recipe! Maybe one of these days I’ll work in the kitchen to perfect a nice honey tea cake recipe and I’ll post the link here lmao. It’ll be “Kirstein Tea Cakes”!
I feel like the tea cakes were supposed to be made in something like a cupcake tin. But I also thought that Jean’s mom might not have one of those. Or maybe being a mom it’s easier to just put the batter all in one dish, hence why Jean calls them tea cakes when it’s just one cake sliced into squares.

@climatact - Canon // Dragon Girlfriend - continued from here.
If he was surprised to find the woman here, shoulder-deep in his dresser as she rummaged for a hidden compartment that did not exist, Law gave no indication. If anything, the doctor seemed amused by her antics, a derisive snort filling the space between them as he shook his head at the carefree admission that no, not only had she torn his sock drawer apart - she’d already helped herself to his desk, as well. And no, she was not sorry or embarrassed in the least to be caught in the middle of this invasion of his privacy.
Of course she wasn’t: he’d be in the entirely wrong relationship if he’d expected anything different. If he hadn’t caught the moment of recognition in Nami’s chestnut orbs the second she’d laid eyes on the necklace he’d presented her with just before they’d last parted ways.
With the earrings, although Law hadn’t been there to see the navigator’s initial reaction (thanks in part to his own carelessness and a complete lack of self control/patience on her part), he’d had the sense of quiet surprise - upward turn of her full lips and the occasional glance she’d cast him in passing that evening suggesting she hadn’t expected him to notice her appreciation for that very pair a few weeks prior.
Didn’t she realize he was always paying attention to her? That he knew her too well not to know she’d be a woman on a mission from the moment those precious stones had settled against her collarbone?
No. Law had learned his lesson the first time around. There was a ring, but he wasn’t going to tell Nami that until he was good and ready to slide it onto her finger himself - and he didn’t care how crafty the Thief Cat thought herself: she wasn’t going to find it before then. Lips curled into a self-satisfied smirk as he tilted his head to the side, her withering stare met with an unruffled shrug of the surgeon’s broad shoulders.
“No hidden drawers in here, nosy. There is a loose panel on the wall behind the bookshelf, if you haven’t checked that yet. Nothing interesting in it, but by all means, help yourself. Might as well try my office while you’re at it - there are much better hiding places in there.”

Lyle working himself too hard and getting sick
A couple stories up, Lyle staggers like he's been punched, a hand coming up to catch himself against the metallic pillar he’s working at, his knees wobbling. From the ground floor, Rokk sees him absently raise his other hand to eventually rest his fingertips gently at his hairline.
“You okay up there?” The silence in response is long, but as his concern starts to build the quiet is broken by Lyle blowing a dismissive hiss of breath through his teeth.
“I thought you had a new years resolution to avoid being the ‘mom friend,’ Cos.” Lyle teases, turning on his heel and making his lean against the pillar look more casual; practiced poised instead of hunched. He oozes cool on command in a way that is almost comedic and has Rokk actively resisting rolling his eyes. The Earthling has been punching in a precise algorithm for the past hour, line by line with the dedication of a surgeon, and the slight sour edge to his tone betrays some actual frustration. And as Rokk observes him, at least as well as he can from the harsh angle and distance between them, his movements are smooth and purposeful once again. Clearly feeling the other’s stare, Lyle waves a dismissive hand in the direction of the Legion Founder before refocusing on his task once again. “I’ll be fine.” He insists over the beeping keypad. “Especially once this sprocking update is finally implemented and working.”
The platform Lyle stands on is only a few feet wide and equal parts long, arched around the large main pillar that hosts the guiding mechanics of the room. There were easier computing hubs to code at throughout the room, but for some reason one of the smartest and most acrophobic members of their team insisted he had to be at the highest one for this specific adjustment.
“I’m sure it’ll go exactly as planned” Rokk calls, flexing his fingers where he’s gently holding parts of the maintenance hub and technical core, one of many throughout Legion World, in temporary magnetic stasis while Lyle works.
“Tell that to Brainy. You should have heard about how much grief he was giving me about it.” He can practically hear Lyle frowning as his input pattern continues, and can’t help but smile to himself—the exact expression is too easy to imagine. “But I’d rather we lock it into place now and not wish we’d done it later.”
What, Brainy didn’t think the project was worthwhile? Imra’s question echoes, unobtrusively, through both of their heads as she observes the room’s multiple status levels from the main control panel located near the room’s entrance.
“Not for the time I put into it,” Lyle mutters, distracted. “Can’t tell you how often he’d come into the lab and complain that I was still digging through the same data. He only finally gave me some space after we go back from the T1045 comet mission. But at this point even I’m sick of it.”
Rokk frowns. “You told me you were going to pass on the T1045 mission.” They’d argued about it, actually. Right in one of the main hallways. Many Legionnaires had stopped to watch the show. The new recruits were still talking about it. “You know, since you volunteered for the Durla one right before it.”
“...I was.”
“But?”
“But.” Lyle makes the word sound like a full sentence, clearly trying to end the conversation. After a long, expectant silence his acquiescing scoff echoes around the metallic room and he clears his throat before he continues. “But, part of the instruments being used were based on my research from a few years ago. If something went wrong I wanted to be available. It’s really not a big deal, Cos, I was mostly observing.”
“It’s a big deal, Lyle, if you’re over hours and over working.”
The steady beeping of the lines of code stalls, and when it doesn’t resume he glances up and is greeted with Lyle’s bemused face peeking over the edge of the upper deck platform. “’Over hours’, Rokk?” Lyle wipes the back of his hand across his brow a couple times, grinning cheekily. “What, are you going to report me to the Legion Union?” The grin transforms into a wicked smirk. “You gunna ground me?”
Rokk works his jaw, then looks away. He’s not embarrassed, he’s not blushing, but there’s something about Lyle’s attitude that has always put him somewhere between ease and edge. “I’m just saying you have a bad habit of overdoing it.”
Lyle hums loud enough to make sure Rokk can hear it, accepting the observation easily. The rhythmic beeping of his inputting begins again. “Don’t we all?”
That, Rokk can’t deny.
From there, they fall into a content silence. The minutes stretch, punctuated by Lyle’s work and the slight creak of the metal machines weighing against Rokk’s abilities. Even Imra’s presence in their shared cerebral space becomes a gentle hum, quiet and comfortable. He lets out a long breath, pressing out the air from deep at the bottom of his lungs, and feels every muscle in his shoulders loosen, settling against the minute strain.
“Lyle!” Imra’s cry is a knife, so harsh he can’t even tell if she screamed telekinetically or not. Rokk looks up in time to see the Earthling lilt at a harsh angle away from the maintenance board. Lyle’s hand reaches out in an attempt to stop the inevitable, but his grasping fingers are slow and disconnected, only wrapping around air. His staggering, weaving feet take him back, back away from safety and... and... eventually, horrifically, Lyle stumbles right off the edge of the platform.
It’s really not that high. Even with Lyle’s fear of heights Rokk has seen him conquer leaps far taller without the use of his flight ring. The stealth focused Legionnaire was rather cat-like that way; twisting before he hit the ground and landing with far more grace than any one person should possess.
But something in Rokk’s gut tells him no graceful save will come. No last minute twist and breathtaking recovery. And he’s right. Lyle falls. And falls. And falls.
So Rokk crosses the room in seconds flat, using his Legion ring to propel his strides, extending his arms and managing to catch the other Legionnaire just before he hits the ground. The momentum makes him stumble, but the Braalian quickly rights himself, hauling the Lyle's deadweight up at the knees and shoulders. The machines around them, no longer held stagnant, buzz to life in speedy rotation. In his arms, Lyle disappears and reappears in a jittering wave, like a bioluminescent tide is crashing over him again and again. Rokk feels the fluxing ability vibrate against every place where their bodies press.
"Lyle? Lyle!" There’s no response. Lyle’s head remains listed back, still but tense. Expression pinched. His skin has taken on an ashy hue, grey at the edges except across the high line of his cheekbones where he’s flushed an alarming red. Sweat is matting his bangs to his forehead. His breath comes in short, desperate pants that end in a horrific wheeze. But before Rokk can really, truly assess how his friend looks, he disappears again in invisible, patchy waves. Even his ability looks stitched together at the seams, bare-thread and worn. Like a injured animal desperately flailing in one last feeble attempt to defend itself. Panic sets in before Rokk can even recognize it, sour in his cheeks and jaw. He only has to look up at Imra and catch her gaze before she's off, flying out the door to get help.
Sinking to his knees, he tries to lay out the prone Earthling. Freeing one hand, Rokk tugs off Lyle's headband so he can press the full expanse of his palm against his friend’s forehead. It sears. The iconic piece of fabric falls to the floor, sopping with sweat. "Come on, come on..." He moves his hand from Lyle's forehead to his unnaturally warm cheek, patting it. Lyle's eyelids flutter. "That's it, wake up Kid." Brown eyes open halfway, pupils blown wide in the artificial light. They list over in Rokk’s direction then roll back as Lyle goes limp once again. “No, no, no don’t—“
There's movement at the doorway and Rokk turns as best he can with the burden in his arms, hoping it's Imra already returned with the medical team, a healer, anyone.
Instead, Brainiac 5 walks in, eyebrows locked in a cynical arch poised for debate. He’s lazily brandishing a hovering holopanel with one hand like a baton. “Norg if you’re quite through with this diversion I need you to assist with my—“
But then. But then his gaze, sweeping across the room with abject boredom drags down to Rokk's arms. To who is in Rokk's arms. To who is in Rokk's arms sprawled out and silent and unmoving and disappearing unsteadily like a sparking, dying electronic. And the Coluan stops. He stares long, hard and unrelenting and it's like the whole room takes a collective short, panicked breath: once, twice, thrice.
Brainy's free hand tenses and flexes sharply. The lock of Brainy's teeth as his jaw snaps shut is audible, defining, even from so far away. Then he's crossing the room in sharp, long strides.
Rokk swallows. "He passed out." Brainy comes to crouch across from him, a green hand going to Lyle's neck. But as he watches those green fingers gently press against Lyle’s pulse, the other boy again disappears — only this time he stays invisible for a few seconds. Rokk tries to not think about what might have happened if his powers started malfunctioning mid-fall. And then they both watch as the invisibility starts to crawl up Brainy’s arm, freezing only as it reaches his upper arm like a computer virus hitting a firewall. They stare at the phenomenon, silent. Shocked.
“What should we—“
“Don’t move.” The holopanel Brainy had been carrying multiplies, taking on the purple hue of the Coluan’s personal programming, and each shift to hover over their prone friend. He uses his free, visible hand starts typing into the one closest to him rapidly. That bright green gaze darts, but never strays far from where they know Lyle lays.
Slowly, finally, Brainy’s arm fades back into view and it’s only when it’s fully revealed once more that Lyle appears again. During his disappearance his nose has begun bleeding in thick, dark clots that run down his chin and collect at the collar of his uniform. Brainy clicks his tongue, frown lines deepening in his brow. But he continues to press against Lyle’s pulse, fluttering like a hovering hummingbird -- Rokk can feel the soft yet frantic magnetic pulses of it against his skin. Can feel the unnatural heat radiating off of him in oppressive waves.
The Braalian remembers waking up in a cold hospital in the wake of the outpost wreckage. He remembers looking, desperately, seeking the shape of Garth and Imra at his bedside and finding only Lyle. Lyle sitting and looking so very small in the vast space of the room around them. Lyle with a busted lip, a bruised face and hollow eyes. Lyle who didn't say a word yet so perfectly, tragically, explained everything he needed to know. Lyle who met his grasping, gripping hand with such equal sorrow that their fingers bruised and shook together. Rokk adjusts his hold on the other Legionnaire. Tighter. “He was inputting the data on Level 3, then he just... fell.″ Brainy eyes him, then looks up, assessing the small platform above them. The maintenance pad blinks innocently.
"I'm going to kill him." Brainy states, cold, intentional. Together they watch the temperature reading on his nearby med screen climb and climb and climb. None of them are from Earth, but by now they both know the readings start bad and only get worse: 102, 102.5, 103, onwards. A small, tinny alarm starts buzzing from the assessment tech; Warning, Danger, Emergency. The Coluan’s mouth becomes a thin, tight line. "We need to get him to the medbay immediately."
"Are we really okay to move him?”
“I’d prefer to wait for a transporter, but it appears that the longer you hold him the more he’s injuring himself so no, we will not wait.” Brainy gestures down Lyle’s prone form between them, and together they watch him flicker out of view once again. They watch the invisibility make it’s way up, up, now to the curve of the Coluan’s shoulder. Then their gaze mutually shifts to Rokk’s own arms: each of point where Lyle’s body presses against him fades from view in a staggering, jittering, patchy crawl. He tastes ozone on his tongue. It is only then that Brainy removes his fingers from Lyle’s pulse, gesturing the once again visible arm between them pointedly. “For some reason that I cannot gather it seems that during this abnormality his body is trying to make anyone touching him invisible as well. And since that’s not how his powers are supposed to work, even in a healthy state, his body can’t physically handle it.”
Lyle coming back into view gives Rokk an excuse to turn his gaze down. He can feel Brainy’s calculating eyes on him but he refuses to look, although that action in and of itself might have sealed his guilt. After all, he was the one that Lyle pitched the idea of training his abilities to. It was at the beginning of that long, empty, yawning year that followed after the Outpost disaster. When they’d both been desperate for any form of achievable evolution they could find against the massive mountain of their mutual grief. He’d supported Lyle. Encouraged him. And now here he is, holding Lyle’s head up so yet another nosebleed can run it’s course under Brainy’s gaze that feels more accusatory by the minute.
"Cos?"
Relief is like a rope being snipped. He sags slightly, and Brainy’s hand snaps up to clutch at his shoulder and keep him upright. "Yeah— Yeah, Kid, it's me. You with us?"
Lyle doesn’t open his eyes but turns towards Rokk’s voice, a distant frown twitching across his features like each muscle had to reconnect with his brain. Under long lashes, the dark circles are now apparent against the harsh pallor of his face. Grife, how long have those been there? How had he not seen them the minute that his friend had walked in the door to start this upgrade?
"Cos, I was...” Lyle swallows a few times, then tries again: “I must’ve… Did you see what line of code I was on?"
"Lyle Norg," Brainy snaps, leaning into the space between them and digging his fingers into where he holds onto Rokk. "Shut up or so help me--"
"Oh," the corner of Lyle's mouth lists up instantly, features relaxing. "Hi Brainy."
Rokk has a front row seat to watching Brainy go through several stages of grief; his jaw works, grinding his teeth, clearly debating if he should just throttle their prone friend to save himself the stress.
"Don't 'hi' me, Norg." The Coluan finally lets go of him to take Lyle’s bloody chin in his hand, directing it back towards himself, teeth bared in what should be a sneer if it were any other situation. If it were anyone other than Lyle. “You’ve deliberately harmed yourself.”
Lyle peeks his eyes open, the brown hazy and distant behind long lashes but he still clearly tries to get his gaze to focus on Brainy’s features hovering inches into his space. Rokk watches his pupils contract and expand several times to no avail. After a long, contemplative pause, he swallows then croaks miserably: “Had a deadline.”
Brainy abandons his data fully to grasp Lyle’s face between his palms, using his thumbs to smear some of the blood away. “Your own, it appears! You fell over 20 feet!” When the other boy only hums in response, Brainy visibly bristles, leaning in again with fury. “If Cosmic Boy hadn’t saved your nass your head could be smashed across the floor. You would have died the most anticlimactic death and for what! To prove a point?”
Lyle closes his eyes against the scolding, whining in the back of his throat. But then he sighs with a sad rattle at the end of it. “…Hands feel nice.”
Brainy immediately snatches the appendages away as if scalded, shocked. A soft, disappointed sound calls out from Lyle’s parted lips, and Rokk responds almost instinctively in the Coluan’s place, cupping Lyle’s cheek in his hand and feeling the searing feverish heat against his own skin through his uniform. He uses that hand to gently draw Lyle’s head back in to tuck against his chest, adjusting him into an easier hold before he slowly, carefully, stands.
When he looks back at Brainy, the Coluan is staring at his hands, at where the other Legionnaire's blood now stains his fingers in various patches.
“Shall we?” Rokk grunts, and Brainy flinches as if out of a dream. Then stiffly, he nods, standing and briskly setting the pace out the door towards the medical wing.
"Let’s be quick about it. Our Earthling is very fragile by nature." Brainy states over his shoulder, tone all business as he marches ahead of them. His dirty hands are clenched into fists. They tremble ever so slightly between the gentle swing of his hurried stride. Rokk thinks about them all charging into battle as a unit: The Legion of Superheroes. All their variety of might and powers combined against the threats of the universe. And how this one kid from Earth whose only ability is disappearing is somehow always right alongside them. Charging head on. Rokk thinks about the battlefield and about Brainiac 5, casting his forcefield wide, covering Lyle as best he can.
"Don't remind me." Lyle mutters, sourly. His eyes open, briefly, before he groans and hides his face against Rokk’s collarbone. "Oh no. Are you princess carrying me down the main hallway right now? Grife, I'm never living this down."
"You have more important retributions from this than your ego to worry about.” Brainy doesn’t look back at them, shoulders stiff. “I am locking you out of the lab for a month. A month, Norg. I'm cybercoding it down to your DNA so you can't even come 10 feet from the door."
Lyle smiles against Rokk's collar. Rokk can feel it, just like he feels the other slip into unconsciousness again, his sweaty scalding brow resting where Rokk's uniform ends on his neck.

Chapter 14 is up! Only 2 more chapters to go!
The Prototype hadn’t been wrong about his abilities as a surgeon. He had worked tirelessly through the night, his fingers moving diligently as he sewed together muscle and bone. In the early hours of the morning, he had finally completed the basics of Theodore's new body.
With Rich, the doctors had been able to work with his entire original body to create the new one. They didn’t have that luxury with Theodore. Very little of his original flesh and bone remained. Still, using cellular regeneration with stem cells and Poppy Essence, The Prototype was able to create something very similar to what Theodore would have been, if he had been allowed to grow up human. And, because they had been used for CatNap, they were able to use all of the necessary original organs. Removing these from The Prototype broke the integration between he and Theodore, as they were placed into their new body.
Theodore's new body was much like Rich's, with the same enhancements and modifications. The Prototype had even managed to recreate Theodore's exact eye and hair color, both a medium brown, though he was bald for the time being. The Prototype relayed that hair would begin to grow in the next few months.
Poppy Essence and Gel were combined with blood. His bones were partially made of special plastic and rubber that Playtime had developed. He was practically half-human, half-toy.
Once fully complete, Theodore was fully submerged in a vat of Poppy Gel. A machine attached to the vat pumped a modest amount of electricity into it, pulsing. It also monitored his vitals, as his organs began to learn how to function again.
The Prototype watched carefully, and Grayson stood by his side. It had been relayed that they needed to dose the vat with extra electricity at exactly the right moment, and then immediately pull Theodore from the vat.
"How long do we have?" Grayson asked, anxiously.
The Prototype glanced at the monitor. "Not long. We need to be ready when the Poppy Gel starts thicken, just slightly."
After about two minutes, the gel in the vat began to solidify ever so slightly, and Grayson could see a faint change in color as it became thicker. The Prototype nodded, and moved to the control panel. The Prototype pressed a button, and a loud hum filled the room as the electricity coursed through the vat.
After exactly four seconds, the electricity stopped. The vat began to drain, and Grayson moved to pull Theodore out. His body was completely coated in the gel. The Prototype helped Grayson move him to an examination table and hooked him up to an IV, full of a saline and Poppy Essence combination, and within moments, Theodore’s chest began to rise and fall as he took his first breaths of air.
"He's alive," Grayson whispered, his eyes begging to brim with happy tears. "Theodore's alive." He reached out, tenderly touching Theodore's cheek, wiping away the red gel that coated it.

The Future of Neuro Endovascular Surgery: Emerging Technologies and Trends
 Introduction
Neuro endovascular surgery, a field that has revolutionized the treatment of cerebrovascular diseases, is continually evolving. The integration of new technologies and techniques promises to further enhance the precision, safety, and efficacy of these minimally invasive procedures. This article explores the emerging technologies and trends shaping the future of neuro endovascular surgery, highlighting innovations that are poised to transform patient care and outcomes.
As the prevalence of conditions like strokes and aneurysms continues to rise, the demand for advanced neuro endovascular interventions grows. The field has already seen significant advancements in imaging, device design, and procedural methodologies. However, the next wave of innovation, driven by artificial intelligence, robotics, and novel therapeutic approaches, is set to bring even more groundbreaking changes. These developments aim to address current limitations, improve procedural success rates, and expand the scope of treatable conditions.
 Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) are at the forefront of technological advancements in neuro endovascular surgery. These technologies have the potential to revolutionize preoperative planning, intraoperative guidance, and postoperative care. AI algorithms can analyze vast amounts of patient data to identify patterns and predict outcomes, enabling personalized treatment plans that optimize patient care.
During procedures, AI can assist in real-time decision-making by integrating data from various imaging modalities and providing actionable insights. For example, machine learning models can predict the behavior of catheters and guidewires within the intricate vascular network, enhancing the precision of device placement. Additionally, AI-powered imaging systems can automatically detect and highlight areas of concern, such as blood clots or aneurysms, reducing the cognitive load on surgeons and improving accuracy. These advancements are expected to lead to more successful interventions with fewer complications.
 Robotics and Enhanced Surgical Tools
Robotic-assisted neuro endovascular surgery represents a significant leap forward in surgical precision and control. Robotic systems offer enhanced dexterity and stability, allowing surgeons to perform complex maneuvers with greater accuracy than is possible with manual techniques. These systems can be integrated with advanced imaging technologies to provide real-time feedback and navigation, further improving the precision of interventions.
Robotic platforms also enable remote surgery, where experts can perform procedures on patients located in different geographic areas. This capability has the potential to democratize access to specialized care, particularly in underserved regions. In addition to robotics, the development of new surgical tools, such as flexible microcatheters and steerable guidewires, is enhancing the ability to navigate the brain's vascular network. These innovations make it possible to reach previously inaccessible areas, expanding the range of treatable conditions and improving patient outcomes.
 Advances in Imaging Technology
High-resolution imaging is crucial for the success of neuro endovascular procedures, and recent advancements are pushing the boundaries of what is possible. Techniques such as three-dimensional rotational angiography (3DRA) and flat-panel detector computed tomography (FPD-CT) provide detailed, real-time images of the cerebral vasculature. These imaging modalities enable precise navigation and accurate placement of devices, reducing the risk of complications.
The integration of augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) into surgical planning and execution is another exciting development. AR can overlay digital images onto the surgeon's view, providing real-time guidance during procedures. VR, on the other hand, can be used for preoperative simulations, allowing surgeons to practice complex procedures in a risk-free environment. These technologies not only enhance the precision of neuro endovascular interventions but also improve training and education for surgeons.
 Novel Therapeutic Approaches
The future of neuro endovascular surgery is also being shaped by novel therapeutic approaches that target the underlying causes of cerebrovascular diseases. One such approach is the use of bioresorbable stents, which provide temporary scaffolding to support the vessel during healing and then dissolve, reducing the long-term risk of complications associated with permanent implants. Another promising development is the use of gene therapy and stem cell therapy to repair damaged vascular tissue and promote regeneration.
Additionally, advances in pharmacology are leading to the development of new drugs that can be delivered directly to the site of pathology via microcatheters. These targeted therapies can enhance the efficacy of treatments and reduce systemic side effects. The combination of these novel therapies with minimally invasive techniques holds the potential to transform the treatment landscape for conditions such as aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, and ischemic strokes.
Expanding the Scope of Neuro Endovascular Surgery
The continuous evolution of technologies and techniques is expanding the scope of neuro endovascular surgery, allowing for the treatment of a broader range of conditions. Dr. Bajaj is an MBBS graduate from Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi. He further pursued post graduation MS in Ophthalmology from Delhi University.
What is LASIK?
LASIK, the short form of laser assisted in-situ keratomileusis, is a surgical procedure done to correct the vision. The correction of eyesight is done in patients suffering from myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. It is one of the most frequently performed surgery all-overs the world with a very high success rate. This procedure provides prolonged freedom from glasses and contact lenses to the patient. This surgery comes under the refractive correction procedure as it helps in correcting the refractive errors in vision. The person may experience immediate enhancement in the vision.
What type of numbers can be corrected with lasik?
All types of refractive errors can be corrected with lasik or blade free lasik. The EXCIMER LASER machine MEL-80 ( CARL ZEISS GERMANY ) available at BAJAJ EYE CARE CENTRE is a fifth generation excimer laser machine capable of removing glasses with un matched efficacy and accuracy. Even high cylindrical or pure cylindrical corrections are achieved with highest accuracy.
How doe LASIK surgery performed?
LASIK surgery is performed through an excimer laser. It is a high energy beam which is applied to the corneal tissue thus reshaping it. The surgery is done through computer-controlled laser for high accuracy and precision and the energy so transferred to the corneal tissue causes corneal reshaping by vaporizing a small amount of tissue equivalent to refractive power of the glasses worn by the patient. Any lasik laser procedure involve two steps. In the first step, a very thin and hinged corneal flap is formed with the help of a microkeratome. In a blade free lasik procedure even this step is done utilizing another laser called femto laser thus making it more precise and totally blade free. In the second step, the flap is retracted aside to expose the underlying corneal tissue and the excimer laser is used to reshape the cornea by removing a small amount of corneal tissue. After reshaping the cornea, the flap is then repositioned on the cornea.
What are the expected results from LASIK surgery?
The results are simply awesome. Patients are able to see within a couple of hours, mostly within a couple of minutes. Patients are no more dependent on glasses or contacts. Most patients are extremely happy with the outcome. However, the results may vary from individual to individual. Various factors affect the quality of results obtained through LASIK surgery. To achieve the best results, a thorough ophthalmological examination is a prerequisite to establishing candidature to undergo LASIK surgery. The experience of the surgeon and the technology used to perform LASIK surgery are other important factors that may make a difference on LASIK outcome. We at BAJAJ EYE CARE CENTRE have very experienced lasik surgeons who have performed thousands of successful lasik procedures.

Post #102: XF Annual issue 2 and XF issues 21-23
This annual is written by Jo Duffy and guest stars the Inhumans and Power Pack. It opens with Franklin telling the other Power Pack members about a dream he had about the moon blowing up and Quicksilver saving him. They tell him it's probably nothing and continue their day of chilling at the park with Artie and Leech, with X-Factor there to supervise. The dream starts to come true when Quicksilver does show up and try to kidnap Franklin, but Leech slows him down long enough for X-Factor to come intervene. Leech moves away so they can use their powers, but Quicksilver quickly summons Lockjaw (the giant teleporting dog Inhuman) to teleport him, Franklin, and our heroes to the Inhuman city on the moon. It quickly becomes clear that Quicksilver and Lockjaw are under someone else's control and not in league with the rest of the Royal Family, who try to apprehend them. But Quicksilver and Lockjaw escape with Franklin and now Medusa in captivity. Refreshingly, X-Factor and the Royal family don't have a big misunderstanding fight and instead immediately team up to find Maximux the Mad, who Black Bolt believes is controlling Quicksilver and Lockjaw. Along the way, Scott learns that Quicksilver is estranged from the family since he and his wife Crystal separated and both left for Earth, leaving their daughter Luna in the care of the other Inhumans, which brings out the sad in him. Jean is also angsty because they're very near to the place that Phoenix died, and the rest of her team remembers it. They brush it off and go with the others to find Maximus, whose evil plan is to strap Franklin into a machine and unlock all his latent powers to boost Maximus's mind control powers. There's a big fight and the heroes win in the end. Before they head back to Earth, Jean asks Scott to show her where the Phoenix died so she can pay her respects to her. This was a fine story but there's not really a reason for X-Factor to be here. The first half was from the POV of Power Pack and the second half was all centered on the Inhumans and Franklin. And it ends before we see Jean visit the Phoenix's death site for the first time, which would have been nice to show on panel.
Back to the main book, the hunt for Hodge proves easier than expected when he shows up on their front door for Warren's will reading. He denies the Phoenix holograms, but Scott still says he's fired for how he's been using his position to spew mutant hatred. The kids are hanging out with Hank, who's still recovering from Pestilence's touch (it wasn't mentioned in the annual, but he didn't really do anything in that so I'm gonna handwave it). They're all worried what this means for X-Factor, but Hank promises that Warren will have left them his fortune. The adults head to the will reading, minus Caliban. Caliban is feeling a lot of frustration, both for being unable to pass as human and for his lack of physical power that left him a sitting duck in the fight against the Horsemen. When the others get to the will reading, they learn that Warren did leave his money to the X-Factor organization- but Hodge was named as the executor of the funds and the new head of X-Factor. As they angrily leave, a reporter named Trish Tilby, who's been hounding them for a while, tells them that Hodge was the one who signed over Warren's power of attorney to the surgeons who took his wings, and she's figured out their secret- but before the conversation goes any farther, a bunch of guys in power armor with smiley face helmets fly out of the sky screaming for the death of all humans. Our heroes are forced to use their powers to defend themselves and the people around them before fleeing, their cover now blown. Hodge then goes to the press and tells them this was an act of dangerous mutants. The students back at HQ watch the scene on the TV in horror, but they have their own problems when the same guys burst into the room and attack them.
The kids fight back but are quickly overpowered by the villains, who put power dampeners on them. Caliban rushes in and tries to stop them but gets clobbered. He's not on their list so they pump him full of tranqs and leave him to take their other prisoners off. Tabitha chooses this moment to finally return from the Fallen Angels, and she sneaks off after the villains, eventually tracking them to their plane and sneaking on before they take off. X-Factor returns soon after and bring Caliban to the infirmary before the tranq overdose does more damage. Caliban overheard the villains mention Arlington, Virginia, so the whole team heads for their own plane to go find the kids. Tabitha has a head start, and sneaks off the plane after landing to see her friends loaded on school buses and taken to a science museum. She sneaks in, where it seems to be a normal museum, but the villains are in an underground compound and have mutant detectors that she sets off. She escapes into the ventilation shafts and begins her search. She frees Rictor, who tells her that this is the same organization that held him captive, but when they try to find the others they run into the Right's leader- Cameron Hodge.
X-Factor arrives, following Caliban's senses, and attack the Right's compound, but when they try to question the guards they learn they all have bombs implanted in their chests that kill them when captured. Watching the action from afar, Apocalypse commends the Right for testing the strength of X-Factor. He then tells the Horsemen it's time for them to battle each other to decide their leader, and finally unveils Warren's new Death persona. He now has blue skin and metal wings with razor sharp feathers that he can fling at people. Before the other Horsemen can even react, he's taken them out and been declared Apocalypse's right hand. X-Factor presses on through the compound while the kids manage to escape and meet them halfway. Hodge arrives in ruby quartz armor tailor made to fight Scott, but with teamwork they manage to take him down- only to learn it was a robot there to delay them while Hodge escaped and set the building to self destruct. They escape with the kids just in time, but Apocalypse decides his time has come and teleports X-Factor up to his ship to face his Horsemen. This book has been less focused on long action scenes since the Massacre, but this issue was basically one long fight scene, and the Simonsons proved they can write and draw a great one. The next issue is part of the Fall of the Mutants event. This one is different from Mutant Massacre; each of the three X-books has an independent plotline, with the thematic link of each team having major losses and status quo changes.

Stay Clear: An In-Depth Exploration of Anti-Fog Coatings and Their Uses
Tumblr media
Ever wondered why your bathroom mirror doesn’t fog up after a hot shower, or how those swanky ski goggles stay crystal clear on the slopes? It’s all thanks to a fascinating technology called anti-fog coatings.
In this blog post, we’ll uncover what these coatings are, how they work, and the diverse uses they serve in our everyday lives. So grab your favorite beverage, put on those non-foggy glasses, and let’s delve into this topic, shall we?
What Are Anti-Fog Coatings?
Anti-fog coatings, the unsung heroes of many surfaces, are like an invisible force field. Acting like a water-loving friend, these coatings fight the villainous condensation, preventing it from ruining our view. But what are these coatings exactly?
Anti-fog coatings are specially designed treatments applied to various surfaces to create a hydrophilic effect. This doesn’t just mean making water droplets go away. It means transforming them into a thin, transparent layer, spreading them out evenly across the surface.
From car windshields to eyeglasses, anti-fog coatings are tirelessly working to ensure that we don’t miss a thing. Think of them as loyal allies in the battle against foggy obstructions, ready to leap into action wherever and whenever they’re needed.
The Science Behind Anti-Fog Coatings
Diving into the science of anti-fog coatings is like uncovering a treasure trove of knowledge. So how exactly do these coatings wage their war against fog?
When surfaces fog up, it’s because of tiny water droplets forming and scattering light, making things look blurry. Anti-fog coatings contain unique compounds that prevent these droplets from forming. Instead, they make water spread out uniformly across the surface, creating a clear layer.
Some anti-fog coatings achieve this effect by incorporating polymers and surfactants that reduce the surface tension of water. The result? A clear and transparent layer instead of annoying droplets.
Imagine having a group of friends that just love to hug each other, no matter the circumstances. That’s precisely how anti-fog coatings treat water, creating an unbreakable bond that results in fog-free surfaces. Now, isn’t that a friendship we can all aspire to?

How Does Laparoscopic Surgery Compare To Robotic Surgery?
Tumblr media
In the modern medicine era, the advancement of surgical techniques has paved the way for less invasive procedures, offering patients quicker recoveries, shorter hospital stays, and minimal scarring. Two prominent innovations that have redefined the surgical landscape are laparoscopic surgery and robotic surgery. Both methods are considered minimally invasive, but they differ significantly in terms of technology, approach, and application. In this article, we will delve into the distinctions between laparoscopic surgery in jabalpur and robotic surgery, shedding light on their unique characteristics and benefits.
Laparoscopic Surgery: A Surgical Revolution:
Laparoscopic surgery, also known as minimally invasive surgery (MIS), has been in practice since the late 20th century. In this technique, a surgeon makes small incisions (usually 0.5 to 1.5 centimeters) in the patient's abdomen, through which a laparoscope (a thin, long tube with a camera and light source) and specialized surgical instruments are inserted. The laparoscopic surgeon in jabalpur then navigates through these small incisions to perform the procedure.
Key Features of Laparoscopic Surgery:
Surgeon's Instructions: Laparoscopic hernia surgery in jabalpur relies on the hernia surgeon in jabalpur operating the instruments directly, giving him or her direct control over the procedure.
Surgical Instruments: Specialized instruments are used, guided by the surgeon's skill and experience.
Limited Range of Motion: The surgeon's hands have a limited range of motion, which can make complicated surgery difficult.
Robotic Surgery: Precision Meets Technology:
Robotic surgery represents the latest evolution in minimally invasive surgical techniques. The implementation of a robotic surgical system, such as the da Vinci Surgical System, is essential. This system comprises robotic arms, a high-definition camera, and specialized surgical instruments. The best laparoscopic surgeon in jabalpur sits at a console and controls the robotic arms, which mimic their hand movements with precision and accuracy.
Key Characteristics of Robotic Surgery:
Enhanced Precision: Robotic surgery offers unparalleled precision and stability as the robotic arms can move with greater dexterity and a wider range of motion than the human hand.
3D Visualization: Surgeons are provided with 3D, high-definition visuals of the surgical site, improving depth perception and visibility.
Surgeon's Console: The surgeon controls the robotic arms remotely from a control panel, changing their hand movements into precise motions by the robotic tools.
Differences and Comparative Analysis
Control Mechanism: • Laparoscopic Surgery: Direct manipulation by the surgeon. • Robotic Surgery: Robotic surgery involves the use of a computer to control robotic arms.
Range of Motion: • Laparoscopic Surgery: Limited by the surgeon's physical abilities. • Robotic Surgery: Robotic surgery provides a broader range of motion and flexibility.
Precision: • Laparoscopic Surgery: Precision depends on the surgeon's experience. • Robotic Surgery: Enhanced precision due to robotic stability.
Visualization: • Laparoscopic Surgery: Provides 2D visuals. • Robotic Surgery: Offers 3D, high-definition visuals.
Learning Curve: • Laparoscopic Surgery: Requires significant training and experience. • Robotic Surgery: Also requires training but may have a shorter learning curve for some surgeons.
Conclusion
Laparoscopic surgery and robotic surgery are both remarkable advancements in the field of surgery, offering patients less invasive options with quicker recovery times and reduced postoperative pain. The choice between these two techniques often depends on the specific procedure, the surgeon's expertise, and the patient's unique circumstances. While laparoscopic gallbladder stone surgery in jabalpur relies on the surgeon's manual dexterity and experience, robotic surgery introduces a robotic system that enhances precision and provides better visualization.
As these technologies continue to evolve, the future of surgery may involve a blend of human expertise and robotic precision, promising improved patient outcomes and expanded possibilities for minimally invasive procedures. In the end, patients must consult with their healthcare providers to determine the most suitable approach for their medical condition.
