Cross and Swapdream, fluff

Warning for slightly stalker vibes, just Swapdream being possessive over someone who isn’t really his. I really like the thought of Cross and Swapdream, so much potential! Enjoy :)

Cross opened his bedroom window, staring at the perpetual night sky. Despite Nightmare’s au always being night time it was time for everyone to rest. Cross always opened his window at night, it reminded him of home.

He breathes in the fresh air for a moment before leaving the window. He had already gotten his pajamas on, just a blank T-shirt and a pair of shorts. Once Cross climbs into bed he almost immediately passes out. He had a long day and simply couldn’t wait to sleep.

A few minutes into his sleep, a figure made its way through the window and stood by Cross’s bed watching him quietly. They said nothing as they stood there, watching and waiting perhaps.

Quickly they made their way out of sight as the door to Cross’s room opened. Nightmare appeared through the crack in the opened door, he looked around Cross’s room. It was dark however he could see everything. No one was in sight.

He hums both a mixture of displeasure and relief, he feels another presence in the castle. One that felt too positive, one that didn’t belong. It felt like his brother but not quite.

Once he was sure the room was clear he disappeared closing the door, the figure stepped out with a smile. Swad makes his way to Cross again.

Cross’s face seemed distressed even while asleep, and Swad frowned. He sets his hand across Cross’s head and he seems much more relaxed, Swad smiles.

“Goodnight Cross, I promise to be back soon for you. You’re mine and mine alone, after all, I love you Cross.” Swad spoke in a quiet voice before placing the sweetest of kisses against his forehead.

“Sweet dreams Cross, remember who you belong to, me.” He says before disappearing out the window, and as soon as he left Cross woke up startled.

Thinking he heard something he looks around the room, finding it empty he shrugs before rolling over and going back to sleep.

This time he dreamt of Dream.
