couple days late bc fuck college but happy 3rd anniversary to the tied-for-first place pick for the most effort I’ve ever put in an art, this bad boy took me ages!! and it’s underwhelming in retrospect

same as the lady piece, there’s a lot wrong with this, mostly scaling and perspective but also just,,, I can’t make backgrounds look lived in for the life of me?? also for the love of god I am never drawing playing cards again holy shit those were such a pain. despite all that’s wrong with it it’s still one of my biggest art accomplishments so eh it can live I guess. but why tf did I add that green patch on the pants it does not fit in maybe one day I’ll finalize my spam design and finally learn how to properly draw him who knows

The interesting thing is…. from the glimpses of SOUL-less Kris we saw in Chapter 1 + 2, it was notable how…. strangely they seemed to move. We saw them walking with a sort of zombie-like gait that maybe implied they weren’t in full control of their body still, or maybe just that they were in immense pain.

It led to a lot of people speculating that Kris does need a SOUL to some level. Maybe the SOUL is Kris’ but we’re a foreign entity that has taken it over, or that Kris’ original actual SOUL has been removed and replaced with us. If Kris needed the SOUL to live, that would explain their slow, deliberate movements and also why they keep putting us back inside despite clearly hating being under our control.

So now, with Chapter 4 giving us a much better glimpse of SOUL-less Kris doing stuff… it’s notable that they seem… fully capable of moving ‘normally’. Angrily, but normally.

Even when they do the whole Creepy Zombie Walk thing they are notably faster than they seemed to be in Chapters 1 + 2

They can do things that require fine motor skills, focus and swiftness like playing the piano, handling glasses, and beating the shit out of us with a hockey stick and it's all animated as smoothly as most other Deltarune Animations. Not really implying effort or stiffness the way that original Creepy Zombie Walk animation did.

And while Susie only gets a brief moment to interact with SOUL-less Kris in the Normal Route

Noelle has prolonged interactions with them in the Weird Route (both on-screen in Chapter 4 and off-screen in-between Chapters 2 and 3) and... while she does note that they sounded 'weak and shaky' and obviously their behavior seems weird on account of the whole 'traumatized by the Unkillable Evil Time-Demon only they can see" thing

... There's nothing to really indicate that there's anything outright unnatural or 'zombie-like' about the way Kris moves and interacts with her while SOUL-less. Since this is the Weird Route, Noelle even note this is the most natural and Kris-like they've acted in the last few days.... until we take over again.

And now we know they can go without the SOUL for a fairly prolonged period of time. The Ominous Phone Voice of Probably Carol does tells them they need the SOUL, it seems unclear why.

So… what that means for SOUL-less Kris’ behavior before? It’s possible that even if Kris can operate without a SOUL, it still hurts like hell. So right after tearing out the SOUL they are in Maximum Pain and it's hard to ignore, causing them to move in a struggling and slow manner. But the more they go without it, they kinda get used to it and the pain fades into the background - allowing them to do stuff more-or-less normally.

(Basically Kris has Chronic Pain but the only Painkiller that works for them is Demonic Possession)

…Or, knowing Kris, maybe this… was all an act. They were only behaving like This because they knew we were watching. It is pretty notable that they walk around normally in the Holidays' Kitchen while we're eavesdropping on them and only swap to the Creepy Walk Animation once they notice us....

Maybe this is an act, either to make us underestimate the things Kris could do SOUL-less… or because they’re a little teen Edgelord so they just enjoy playing up the whole Soulless Zombie thing when they have a chance.

About My Writing:

What do I use for inspiration and worldbuilding?: My Roman Empire has always been the Regency Era, I constantly consume media from it and that mixed with the 40s style of hair/dress is where I come up with my headcanon of the AOT universe. Also the writer with the former user of "captainmcslashypaws" was the biggest inspiration for how I write Levi. For my other works I get inspired based on what I'm reading, if I read fantasy, then I get fantasy ideas, etc.

When did I start writing?: The idea of Break Me Slowly Levi and Evelyn came not long after I watched AOT for the first time back in 2020. I hadn't had the time or interest in watching it before then, but once I did I was hooked. After some minor tweaking of what I wanted their story to be I had it in my head and would work through fake scenarios. Eventually I got back into reading slashypaws writing, and it hit me why didn't I do the same? I'd done little handwritten fanfictions before when I was like 13, but they're all terrible, don't ask about them 😭(Unless you're that curious)

Kel - not close anymore, they don't speak often but he will always say hi when seeing him.

Hero - becuse he is at college they don't see each other often but they have exchanged phone numbers and basil calls him often.

Sunny - similar to hero becuse he moved away but still extremely close with him. Basil considers him still to be his best friend. They call often and meet whenever they can. (Honestly he still has a small crush on him)

Mari - he goes to her grave quite a bit to talk to her. Despite everything he still tells her about everyone, what they are up to and how they are getting on. He finds it peaceful talking to her like he used to before the incident.

I was bored and decided to this instead of being productive. (JKJKJK!!)

Monika- Cis girl (She/It) but in a forest deity type of way. Definitely has a love for music (Piano) and poetry. She is very much a lover girl when she falls in love with someone. Definitely neurotypical (I can’t pick up any ND vibes from here.) Pansexual Icon OFC! Definitely listen to that one Keyshia Cole song “Love” and Laufey. Has a bit of obsessive tendencies but not as much as Yuri. Definitely prefers tea over coffee. Still very much a perfectionist but is trying to get better at taking breaks when she needs it. I also headcanon her to be Swedish. (She’s a bit delulu 😺)

Sayori- Agender (She/They) She doesn’t really care how you refer to her as long as isn’t rude. Definitely Onmisexual (Pref for Guys) They have signs of ADHD but it was never confirmed whether she has it or not but the signs are there. (Parents didn’t get her checked out.) She prefers cold/warm foods and drinks. <— (Projection) She’s not a fan of people who dislike their friends or people who bash their friend’s interests. She definitely has depression if you know her well enough you can tell when their mood changes or when their happy go lucky facade is breaking. Sayori likes milk but prefers strawberry milk over chocolate. She definitely listens to Taylor Swift and Meghan Trainor. (Definitely listen to Love Story by Talyor on repeat.)

Yuri- Demigirl (She/Her) She is a girl but not at the same time. She is lesbian demisexual in my opinion. She gives off Toriel (Undertale) vibes. She loves horror but something tells me she likes reading about women’s history as well. (Specifically Jeanne d'arc, Emilia Plater, and Empress Sisi’s stories.) I headcanon her to have Autism <— (Projection) and some obsessive traits. I also hc that she, Imogen (OC), and Sayori go to therapy together. She also doesn’t like to admit it but she sometimes likes reading with Natsuki. (I like to think that they trade books with each other but they think of each other as well.) (Like Natsuki will maybe pick up a Manga that has a few scary elements in it for Yuri while Yuri will try to find a horror or thriller book that is not too scary for Natsuki.) Definitely listen to Mitski, Marina and maybe The Neighborhood.

Natsuki- Transfem (She/Her) I hc her as Bi-Questioning. Like she knew she liked men but when she looks at pretty girls she can feel her heart flutter and a small blush spread across her face. (She also started to question herself when she noticed herself liking some females in the manga she reads.) She definitely has a lot of anxiety from her father’s outbursts. Which developed a lot of problems for her like being very reserved, she tends to push people away and has built a very high wall to keep people out but she desperately craves friendship and something like a sisterhood. (Examples: SSO: The Soulriders, MLP: The Mane 6, or even the Mario Princess: Peach, Daisy, Rosalina, Pauline (Ik Pauline isn’t a princess but shhh 🤫) and she loves Manga and short stories. Listen to Lana Del Ray, Olivia Rodrigo and possibly Mother Mother.

MC- Demiboy (He/They) Definitely Aroace (Specifically Lithromantic Gray-Ace) He is very much neurotypical. He originally came to the clubroom to get with the girls but after a while his attraction towards the girls faded and they kinda stayed because they liked the girls company and because he was getting the hang of poem writing thanks to Monika. They give off Kris vibes from Deltarune. (Appearance wise) Very much introverted and socially awkward towards people and is a bit dense. He is a gamer but tends to stick to chill games rather than action pack ones. (Ex: Stardew Valley, Abzu, Animal Crossing.) But on rare occasions he does play Detroit becomes human, Untitled Goose Game, and Life is Strange. Listens to Will Wood, Pitbull, and James Arthur.

(OC) Imogen- Cis Straight Girl (She/They) Has Audhd (Autism and ADHD) and Social Anxiety Has a hard time making friends due to her autism and social anxiety making her a loner at school. <— (Projecting) Surprisingly MC was the one who came up to them and asked them to join the club. They were hesitant at first but MC reassuringly told her that it would be a great opportunity to make some friends and when she heard the word “friends” she immediately said yes. They love Greek Mythology and Dystopian themed books and they also indulge in romance books. They also happen to be a gamer as well. She mostly plays adventure games and some visual novels. (Ex: Sky: Children Of Light, Never Alone, Starshine Legacy, and Slay The Princess.) Imogen and MC watch each other play sometimes. (Like he could be playing Animal Crossing while Imogen is playing SSO {Star Stable Online} ) Very very much on the introverted side but is very passionate to talk about her interests. Also she listens to Beach Bunny, Kesha, and Loreen.

They are also in a QPR with their partner Zane.

(OC) Zane- Nonbinary (He/They) Aroace (Cupioromantic & Asexual) Neurotypical as well. He was a very extroverted person with any person they interacted with. Before they came to terms that they were Aroace they tried so hard to get those “romantic feelings” but every time he tried it always failed. He gave up on love for a bit but then a pretty girl (Imogen) came and invited them to a literature club? He decided to go with it and join the club. He is very much an expert at poetry but the literature he enjoys is Mystery and Graphic Novels. They give off great big brother vibes.. Is pretty much a big goofy teddy bear. Developed queerplatonic feelings for Imogen. They were the one who asked her out because she was too anxious to do so. Listens to Cavetown, Alec Benjamin, and Bo Burnham.

All together HCs-

MC and Sayori were both best friends when Imogen joined the two. Sayori immediately invited them with open arms.

Natsuki and Zane both team up to try to convince Monika and Yuri that manga and graphic novels are literature.

Imogen suggests that they could do book reviews and recommendations sometimes for a club meeting instead of just doing poems.

Like I said before Yuri, Sayori and Imogen are therapy buddies (They're also trying to get Natsuki to go to therapy but Natsuki is stubborn and says that she doesn’t need therapy.) (She very much does need it ���)

Yuri and Natsuki spend time with each other in bookstores, cute cafes and maybe even at Yuri’s house doing a variety of things. From reading to binge watching shows to listening to random podcasts and music.

Monika and Sayori are such hopeless romantics wanting to be loved and appreciated by a significant other.

Sometimes the group will go to someone’s house and watch movies together. Everyone gets there early so everyone can have a turn picking a movie.

Zane is a very affectionate person while Imogen is very touch starved and she literally melts when Zane shows her any form of affection.

Everyone in the club has codenames for when they're talking shit about someone (That’s not in the club..)

Everyone cares and loves each other in many different ways.

Yuri and Monika often try different teas together and tell each other how they feel about it.

Yuri, Zane, and Imogen get along really well because of interests in books.

Sayori tries her best to help Natsuki with her eating habits. (Like sharing her lunch or carrying around an extra snack.) and Natsuki bakes Sayori some yummy treats in return for her kindness but not without saying that she was only doing it because she didn’t want to owe her anything.

That’s about it.. (Not doing ships unless it’s for my OCs.)

- plays everskies and makes the most detailed outfits you could imagine (y’all saw her fits she was INSANE)

- actually eats at cracker barrel because every time she goes she gets one of those kiddie toys or stuffed animals or old timey candies

- dyed her hair on her own when she was younger and wanted to be a cosmetologist (she had a whole fake salon and would give her parents haircuts)

okay but have we considered that it isn’t just a result of a “24/7 grind” type mindset and thinking of everything as a competition - he physically can’t just ask for help.

spamton’s glitchy, he seems half broken, but also - we see him break character a few times. you ask him about “fear” and suddenly his voice changes entirely, it loses the shouty salesman energy, he asks can anyone hear me - and then he immediately tries to pretend that didn’t happen. same thing happens when he mentions mike. or when he tries to tell you something about the knight- holy fuck that thing with the knight is so weird. it’s like he’s being suddenly punished by something invisible.

i think even despite the connection between him and whatever was manipulating him being severed, some part of its influence is still lingering. it’s forcing him to act like a salesman, corrupting his speech and turning it into hyperlinks and straight-up deleting parts of it. it won’t just let him go. if he wants out, he has to play by its rules.

he physically can’t just say “i’m trapped and lost and i need help-” he has to trick people because he has to subvert whatever’s watching him.

spamton's fascinating to me because he's someone who's at the end of his rope and stuck in this desperate position and like... Can't just ask for help. his mindset is so stuck in this competitive dog-eat-dog framework that he can only conceive of like making deals and scheming and tricking his way to the top. he can't just be honest, he can't reach out to the addisons and ask for support, he can't even directly ask kris or tell them the plan (and even when they're on board he can't just like. give them the keygen he has to sell it to them and do his best to scam them)... and ofc, when the plan fails, instead of asking kris for help severing the strings, he instead leaps right to needing to kill kris.

it's just... fascinating, to me. everyone knows spamton, a lot of people feel pity for him, he's tried to do so much... but he just. can't stop thinking of it as a competition where he needs to come out on top. he can't imagine anyone helping him just because they care for him. everything's a deal, everything's a transaction, and he can only win by cheating the other person.

it's sad as hell that the only time i can see him being happy now is when he's literally just a pair of sunglasses.

Why did I decide to create this blog?

Well, I was bored. That's about it, honestly. But I also wanted a space where I could throw all of my interests together, so expect there to be a bunch of reblogs and posts about a lot of different communities (mostly from the perspective of mbti).

My interests

•I'm an artist –mostly draw digitally– so there's a big probability that there'll be posts with drawings or short comics of mine. •I play the guitar and the piano, and I greatly enjoy listening to music. The genres I listen to the most are: Pop, National Rock, Classical, Ballads and more. I also listen to lofi and games soundtracks/OST. My favorite artist is Taylor Swift. •I'm a casual player and I'm into a lot of games. Such as: Genshin Impact, Persona 5, Undertale/Deltarune, Detroit become human, Pokemon, Resident Evil, etc. •I love anime.
