A question, did you think to write fics about Silva?

So I have actually given this a lot of thought since Strange Way of Life was announced.

First, I know that Pedro and Ethan will kill it and I'm going to be very soft and emotional when I finally get to see it.

Second, I never try to write for a character until I am able to see the source material. I really like to watch it a few times until I can get a sense of the character.

That being said, I don't think that I will be.

Unless Silva is canonically bisexual, I feel as if I would be doing a disservice to the fandom. I primarily write xF!Reader fics. While I have written quite a few thruples or m/m/f fics, I have never really delved into x male readers as a writer.

If Silva is canonically completely gay, I would feel like I was taking away from the representation in the fandom. Gay erasure of a character. I don't want to do that. This is a character that our male portion of the fandom would be able to celebrate and enjoy that little fantasy of being with completely organically.

I might change my mind when I see the film, inspiration may strike. However, I am more looking forward to reading fics that our often overlooked portion of the fandom write and reblogging them.
