I'd love if in part 3 we got a scene where Bob is over at Sherri's house (his old house) and comments on how different if looks.
Bob: Boy, you sure changed up the place. It's like a whole new kitchen, I don't even recognize it."
Sherri: Yeah? It's the probably the new paint job, they're like nose jobs for kitchens. They change everything.

obsessed with your t7 era it's making me want to rewatch it SOOO bad that season is fucking perfection i would die for every single one of them
hi!!!! this is your sign to rewatch it 🤗 the seven and nsbu are the only d20 campaigns i’ve watched because i’m pretty new to d20 (was always intimidated to start because there’s so much content) BUT I’M SO OBSESSED! i know that when uni starts again for me i’m gonna be having these two campaigns playing in the background nonstop while i work. mainly because i’m obsessed with izzy and rekha as a duo (add in brennan and that’s one heck of a trio!) 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

rewatching FHSY and then i’ll probably watch T7 afterwards and i’m just gonna make myself more upset about the fact that FHJY should be Fantasy High Senior Year because T7 takes place during what would be The Bad Kids Junior Year

Spoiler-Free Post-T9S Part 2 Binge Post
I watched all eight episodes in one sitting. I have conflicting thoughts and conflicting feelings about T9S Part 2.
I hold the perspectives of:
Watching it as a show completely unrelated to T7S.
Watching it as a sequel to (or continuation of) T7S.
Watching as a fan.
Watching as an author.
I think and feel multiple ways about the same elements from these points of view. I also think and feel multiple ways about different elements from one or more of my perspectives.
I laughed out loud quite a bit.
I enjoyed and was satisfied by aspects of Part 2. I also felt angry or disappointed about other aspects.
I wrote after watching Part 1 that I care about the new characters but don't feel a deeper emotional connection to them. Interestingly, I feel even less emotionally connected to some of the new characters and more to others, but I'm overall invested in their character arcs and what will happen next.
I understand why.
I don't identify with -- or find myself in -- these characters and their struggles. That's a me thing. I do, however, find myself and experiences reflected by Eric, Donna, Jackie, Hyde, Fez, and Kelso -- their personalities, their inner and outer conflicts.
That being said, I have enjoyed and continue to enjoy plenty of shows where I don't see any of myself reflected. It's not a requirement. 😂
But because:
T7S is such a personal show for me
T7S's last season was completely mishandled (butchered)
Real-world events guaranteed T9S would be an AU from T7S canon and create its own canon
T9S's head writer, brought in from T7S, used Wikipedia as his research to help create T9S (rather than, say, rewatching T7S) -- he didn't do proper research like a good author would to write a novel, a good actor does to play certain roles. The lack of care is evident, just as it became evident in T7S at the end of season 5
That '90s Show didn't have a chance to be emotionally fulfilling for me, on the whole, as a continuation of That '70s Show.
T9S has plenty of charms, though. And plenty to critique. Just like T7S.
I totally get why a segment of T7S fans is very happy with T9S -- and accept it as a continuation of T7S. I also understand why a segment of T7S fans feel and think the opposite way. And then there are fans for whom T9S is the core show while T7S is its prequel.
For me, T9S continues to be a fanfic onscreen, one I like enough to keep watching.
For my friends (and others) who enjoy the show, I won't write a meta-critique. But I will answer asks people send in and give my analysis/opinion (I've got one in the hopper already).
I believe people should be able to watch whatever sitcom they want without being shat on for it (for any reason). Freedom of choice. Freedom from judgment. My hope is that others who deem the show should not be watched (for whatever reason) never forget the humanity of the people who are watching it. ♥️

I’ve been rewatching t7s and I don’t get why so many people are upset with Hyde at what happened at the end of s5. It was Jackie’s fault, she promised she wasn’t going to hang out alone with Kelso anymore, and she turns around and does just that.
It was not Jackie’s fault. She didn’t promise Hyde that and then break it just because. When Kelso showed up she told him that she couldn’t hang out with because she promised Hyde. But when she saw and found out why Kelso was so upset, she couldn’t just leave him or make him leave. Because she still cares about him, you can’t just leave them alone when they’re hurting. When Hyde showed up and saw that Jackie was comforting him, he just assumed that she was cheating on him with Kelso. Then went off and slept with someone else. He should’ve have talked to her about what he saw first, so he could’ve known exactly what was going on.

Tell Me About Your OTP
I've written a lot of metas about Jackie and Hyde over the years (a sampling):
And many more that can be found here (on my meta master list page).
I'm a firm believer that canon stems from character consistency as well as growth and change that is grounded (or set up) properly in storytelling. Writers for a show can and will force characters to act against their long-established natures to fit a plot idea, and T7S unfortunately does this a lot with J/H in particular during the last part of S5, beginning of S6, and too much of S7.
I can't and don't consider canon the choices, actions, and feelings that inherently and significantly contradict previous years of consistent character building -- not without a carefully written storyline that substantiates those changes from the core of the characters. Just because people who write for the show put out-of-character episodes or scenes onscreen doesn't make that writing canon.
If X character is firmly established as someone who would never do Y, but that character does Y onscreen because a show writer decided to make it so ... that's bad writing and breaks the fictional dream. In novels, an editor would (hopefully 😅) catch such an error and tell the author to revise.
I've seen plenty of non-canonical writing disrupt or even wreck otherwise consistently (well-) written shows. It's frustrating.
I've made a few comics where the T7S characters react to the OOC actions their show counterparts were forced into. Those were fun. ☺️
I've also read plenty of T7S fanfic where the authors write the characters in a far more canonical way than the T7S writers eventually did.
What we see onscreen doesn't automatically make a plotline or character development canon. Story elements must not break the fictional dream. If they do in an episode (or season) that airs on TV (or streaming service), then it's a non-canonical episode as far as I'm concerned, and I dismiss it; otherwise the internal cohesion of the fictional universe unravels. Only by embracing cognitive dissonance and not engaging in critical thinking can one accept all the contradictions as being canon.

Have you thought anymore about your Scream AU? No pressure of course, just wondering. I think I might watch Scream tonight.
I’m in a Scream mood lol
👀 Honestly, I have! It’s nothing super concrete, but I’ve floated around a few different ideas for the dynamics and “roles” within the story.
(Including the opening kill 😁)
I’m pretty sold on the final girl Donna concept, along with the Dewey x Gale coded Jackie x Eric plot line. But obviously a lot of details would be tweaked / changed to actually fit the story.
I appreciate the interest <3 haha Scream and T7S are my two biggest brainrots so I’m glad people are down for me potentially combining the two.
(I literally was thinking about rewatching Scream last night… it’s been too long since I’ve seen the original at this rate 😭💔)
