Digimon Adventure Reboot Sequel AU - Prologue: Dreams
Tumblr media
Summary: It's been years since the Chosen Children have saved both the Digital World and the Real World back in 2020. Things are mostly peaceful... Or so Taichi keeps telling himself, as he has been haunted by dreams for years - dreams about adventures he hasn't lived through himself, everything is familiar yet a little bit weird. They're becoming more and more vivid as time goes by, messing with his head, his perception, his memories - and he's not sure how long he can continue to be his most courageous self without anyone else noticing the cracks.
Chapter list: [Prologue] [0] [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8]
Resources: [This pretty little AU idea that hasn't left my head ever since] [Designs] [First Idea] [Playlist] [Ao3]
Word count: 900
When the dreams had first begun, Taichi hadn’t given it much thought.
"I haven't given up.”
Dreaming about adventures in the Digital World – considering how often he had gone gate-hopping alongside various of his friends for years now, ever since they had saved the place for the first time –, shouldn’t be surprising.
“You guys taught me that there's always something I can do until the end.”
He hadn’t even wondered about how different the Digital World had looked – things were often a little to the left within dreams, they weren’t exactly how one experienced them in real life after all. Places, people, clothes, devices… Nothing too worrisome.
For the first weeks, months, there wasn’t even a need for him to question the frequency of his dreams – since, at first, he quickly forgot about them shortly after waking up anyway. But then, slowly, but steadily, things had started to become more vivid.
“The future will continue and become connected.”
He began hearing the voices more clearly, recognizing most of them immediately – like a long forgotten yet familiar memory, seeping into his waking hours and sneaking back into his head. Which, again, didn’t happen all the time and also not consistently, but when he met up with his friends, asking Sora, Koushirou and the others for another trip into the net, he occasionally felt reminded again.
Of islands, trolleys, mountains. Of black gears, tags, cards. Of monkeys, vampires and clowns. Sometimes, he woke up feeling like someone had punched him in the face, other times, tears were streaming down his cheeks.
“I'll pass it on to you. Our... Our grown up... Hope.”
Still, he had decided to keep it all to himself – not matter how much he had been bothered by a slight sting of guilt in his chest whenever his glance had crossed Hikari’s, first thing in the morning. There had been no urgency to act. Years had passed and, aside from a few minor calls, their duty as Chosen Children had been “on hold” for the most part, so most of the travels to the Digital World had happened on their own devices. But whenever he entered the void, with Agumon right next to him, the voices, the images of his friends had become more detailed.
Nevertheless, he had gone through the entirety of middle school without telling a soul. About other voices he had never heard before, dark towers, digital eggs. How the person he saw himself as in his dreams seemed so strange yet so much like home that it scared him sometimes. He had brushed it aside every single time.
But now, in his second year of high school, they had almost turned into aggressive visions.
“Listen, Yagami.”
Last night, his dream had revolved around someone he had seen several times before – but only in his dreams. He appeared to be a teacher, his teacher to be exact. Sitting on the floor of some sort of control room, covered in blood, talking to him. Taichi himself had been stuck in a capsule, a countdown clock right next to him. Time was running out.
“No matter how hard reality is up ahead, don't ever give up.”
He had been about to die. And there was nothing he could have done. He remembered how his dream self had tried to smash the capsule into pieces, getting through to him. But it was all in vain. Regardless of how much he had wanted to scream, he couldn’t move.
“You guys go build the future.”
Even though he had never seen that man in real life, he had felt a connection. Felt like he owed him to get him out of that place this time. As if to make up for what he couldn’t have done before.
“Dream big!"
And yet, it had been all for naught. Once again, he had woken up in tears. Had checked whether there had been blood anywhere on his body, as it had felt almost frighteningly real. Not only that, his mouth felt awfully dry, as if he had screamed the word “Sensei!” out loud himself.
Heart pounding, sweating, Taichi couldn't help but wonder how long he could still keep quiet. Under no circumstances would he worry any of his friends about this – that he had sworn to himself. He was the bearer of the Crest of Courage, he had always, always found a way to push through, smile in the face of adversity. The others relied on him for that. The voices kept telling him that this was part of his duty – be courageous for the sake of everyone. More courageous than the self he saw in his dreams at least – who seemed to fall deeper into despair with every passing dream.
Taichi didn’t understand why there was such a discrepancy – as he had finally begun to ask questions. He felt sympathy for his dream self, a sense of remorse circling around all of his actions, as if there were a million things he regretted and wanted to make right. Watching himself like that only left him with the urge to… Give himself a hug. And ask him why he pushed his friends away like that, why he was so at odds with Yamato, so distanced from Sora, Koushirou and even Hikari…
He wouldn’t let that happen to himself. He would push further. Without worrying anyone about it.
He had to after all.

Happy Halloween, Koushiro!
I uploaded a drabble I wrote ages ago to AO3, but crucially, with a drawing of Koushiro's Halloween costume. LOOK AT THE HANDSOME LAD. It's under 700 words and features Koushiro, Mimi, and Taichi.
I try to write something really heartfelt for Koushiro week, but I just had so much going on this year. If you're looking for something like that, please check out Ladybug House or Sans San!
Happy Koushiro week, and happy Halloween! Love you!

Beating Hearts
Word Count: 547 Prompt: & Koushiro A/N: As the years go on I find something new to love about the relationship between Taichi and Koushiro. Romantic or not, these two have a lot of potential stored in them, and I don't think I completely did it justice. Continuing on with my personal theme of pain for myself, this one nearly did a huge number on me. I hope Koushiro and Taichi would have liked it. @taichiyagamiweek
The office looked empty without Tentomon buzzing around. It filled Taichi with a certain unease that somehow hadn't been following him in every other instance of this. Maybe because of the specific way Koushiro and Tentomon complemented each other, a singular unit of technology and science that functioned better together than they did alone. Taichi had always considered them one person, at least subconsciously.
Before Koushiro could begin whatever conversation he intended on having, Taichi bowed low, practically bending in half. "I'm so sorry."
He could hear the gears whirring in Koushiro's brain, hear the way he blinked once, then twice, then a third and fourth time, trying to process the reason for the apology. Finally, the younger boy said, "Why are you apologizing?"
Straightening up, Taichi tried not to meet his friend's gaze, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. "We sped up the process, didn't we? And now you're alone."
Koushiro didn't answer at first, turning away and walking over to the window of his office. Taichi's brain inserted the image of Tentomon buzzing beside him, chattering away while Koushiro smiled that soft smile of his. The more he witnessed these cruel separations, the broken hearts left behind by a decision that was never theirs to make, the more Taichi's heart hurt. Whereas he felt the emptiness Agumon had left behind, he felt the hole beside his friends. It hurt so much to see what the Digital World had wrought upon them.
Lightly, Koushiro touched the window with the pads of his fingers, sighing. "There was bound to be something like Eosmon," he pointed out. "That's the way of our two worlds. Something is always at stake, always threatening the status quo. This was no different." He looked over his shoulder and smiled. "Do you regret any of it?"
The man who used to be a boy with goggles shook his head, grinning wryly. "Never. I'll never regret it."
"Neither will the rest of us." Koushiro turned fully to face him, backlit by the setting sun. "We had one last battle together, all eight of us. Including Sora." His mouth twitched; when he had become aware of what happened to Sora, he had been stricken, and Taichi wondered if perhaps Koushiro shouldered the guilt for not knowing what had afflicted their friend earlier than even Yamato or he. "All we can do now is watch over those who still have their partners and hope we'll find a way to see them again."
"If anyone can find the way, it's you, Koushiro. You were always the greatest of us that way." Taichi fingered the goggles in his pocket, his mind supplying memories of all the times Koushiro had literally and figuratively saved their butts, even when he was not directly involved in the fight at hand. "I'd say you're at the height of your potential."
"Aren't all of us? This isn't the end, Taichi." Koushiro placed his hand over his heart. "As long as our hearts are beating, I know we'll find a way."
Smiling widely, Taichi made his way over to his friend and held out his fist. Koushiro formed a fist with his own hand and bumped it lightly against Taichi's. A promise made between those who had always shouldered more than was fair.

TAIKOUVEMBER 2025 - ANNOUNCEMENT POST
Hello everyone!
First of all, thank you to all 31 participants of the interest poll! We thought hosting an entire week might be too ambitious, but we were happy to see that the majority of voters confirmed to be happy to participate or enjoy another event. So in the fourth year of Taikouvember, we keep things a little bit smaller.
November is the last month of autumn, right before Christmas time begins. It’s a time that can be filled with light and coziness, gloominess and melancholy, a time of contrasts. So, November 7th to November 9th shall be dedicated to the relationship between Taichi Yagami and Koushiro Izumi (Taikou, Koutai or mainly known as Taishiro(u) in the English speaking fandom). The prompts you may want to use throughout the entire weekend are the following:
Partners & Crests
Childhood / Adulthood
Platonic / Romantic
Sporty / Studious
Free Space!
You can interpret the prompts however you like. If you want us to reblog your posts, please tag everything as #taikouvember, #taikouvember2025 or #taikouvember 2025 and we will be happy to share your content, let it be fanart, sketches, fanfiction, drabbles, poems, edits or whatever comes to your mind.
The annual Rules & FAQ and a more detailed Prompt Guideline will follow soon. Stay tuned for the upcoming updates!

TaiYama fic masterlist
I thought I might as well make this, since this is the only pairing I'm actively writing these days.
It's so wild to me that this is now almost like a niche pairing?? Back when I first joined this fandom as a baby slash shipper, everyone was all about that Taichi x Yamato...
But this is still the OTP of my heart. So, here I am repping for it. Totally normal over here...
Tumblr media
TaiYama fics
1. Imprint Rated E, oneshot, 6,821 words
Some things leave their mark.
Read on AO3 2. High Rated M, drabble, 2,036 words
Yamato puts his hands in his pockets and tries to look inconspicuous. This would be easier if he wasn’t hanging in some deserted parking lot with three other guys, all quite obviously waiting there to meet a dealer.
Read on Tumblr or AO3
3. Bite the Lightning Rated M, multichapter, 22,662 words Additional pairings: mostly one-sided Taichi/Koushiro; Yamato/OMC; Koushiro/OMC
The day that Taichi comes out to them is the coldest day on record.
Read on AO3
4. Not Asking for a Storm Rated M, oneshot, 7,816 words Companion fic to Bite the Lightning
Things between them have always been complicated.
Read on AO3
5. Rule the World Rated E, multichapter, 41,599 words Additional pairings: Taichi/OFC; Yamato/OFC; Yamato/OMC
“What are we doing?” Yamato says, and Taichi lifts his eyebrows in question. “In our relationship? Or in general?” Or: why being friends with benefits is so much harder than saving humanity.
Read on AO3
6. Endgame Rated E, multichapter, 39,347 words Additional pairings: Taichi/OMC; Yamato/OMC
The universe has been forcing them together since they were eleven years old. Yamato’s not going to let it force this too.
Read on AO3
7. Tender Rated E, multichapter, 52,162 words Additional pairings: Yamato/Jou
When Taichi leaves Tokyo, he and Yamato have to learn to live without each other.
Read on AO3
8. A Shot in the Dark Rated E, multichapter, WIP
In another life, Taichi and Yamato still meet.
Read on AO3
Annnnndddd...
If you're tired of the sight of my fanfic, you can also check out my old TaiYama nostalgia fic rec post from way back. That thing is full of traysure.
ENJOY, MY PRETTIES.

25 Years [Odaiba Memorial Fic]
Tumblr media
When I realized that this year would be the 25th Odaiba Memorial, I felt the need to write a one shot for the occasion, given that Digimon was my original fandom.
So, I wrote a story about the Digimon Adventure/02 kids celebrating their special day once again.
25 Years
Fandom: Digimon Adventure/02 Shippings: Taichi/Koushiro, Miyako/Mimi, Daisuke/Ken Genre: Drabble Sequence
August 1st, 2024. It has been twenty-five years since Taichi and his friends first travelled to the digital world. As the former chosen children grow up, it is harder each year for them to find time for their yearly celebration. Still, they will try again each year.

Aki • ko - Taiora drabble
For @taioraweek 2023 Day 1
[1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8]
A/N: A little drabble about Taichi, Sora, their firstborn Yua and their upcoming second born... I won't say more ;) Only that these OC Taiora babies are very precious to me. Find out about them in this one-shot written in 2021.
Akiko means "Autumn Child", so you might be able to guess what this will be about.
Happy readings! And enjoy the Taiora content this week.
Day 1: Autumn | Characters: Sora Takenouchi (POV) x Taichi Yagami, OC babies | Genre: Family | Rating: K | Wordcount: 447
Tumblr media
It was a nice day for a walk with the trees all painted red and orange, sometimes yellow with hints of brown or brown with hints of yellow and some hidden green between it all. The sky seemed sunny yet the temperature was more chilly, the air brisk and wind sharp. Sounds of fallen leaves cracking underneath their feet were like a voice telling them to be kind and careful to the earth while move, play and dance in this serene nature.
To most, Autumn was an enigma. It had some sort of ambiguity. Colorful, fresh and light yet gloomy and unpredictable.
To Sora, the sensations of Autumn had something soothing, the season calming her nerves. She saw it like an end announcing an approaching beginning.
At that thought she smiled softly, her hand gently placed on top of the bump that looked like it was glued to her stomach.
“Mommy, what takes you so looooong?” Sora heard her daughter ask impatiently.
Yua had been way ahead of her, the sheer excitement of a simple walk outside making her run rather than walk, unable to contain those young body’s energetic impulses. Luckily for Sora, she could count on a husband that matched their daughter’s energy quite well.
“Your mother is pregnant, Yua. That’s what makes her slower than usual,” Taichi explained.
Sora watched Yua nod, then run off again for Taichi to run after. It wasn’t a punishment to be slower than usual, the sight of her little family a sight she could watch forever. And how lucky she felt to soon welcome another little person in their home.
She rubbed her by now fully grown belly, curious to the contents of it.
Would it be a boy or another girl?
What color would their eyes be? And their hair? Would their personality be more warm like the sun or brisk and sharp like the wind?
Maybe kind and careful. Maybe bustling and full of physical energy.
Excited by her own mind wandering all the possibilities, Sora rubbed a little bit harder, trying to provoke some movement from inside her belly. But there wasn’t a sign of life. Instead her bump became hard, like she had swallowed a football, accompanied by an unexpected and sharp pain.
A long exhale followed, as if she was trying to blow up a very big balloon.
“Sora, are you okay over there?” Taichi asked, the tone of his voice sounding concerned. Sora could barely look up from her apparently bent over position, still trying to breathe through the aching coming in small but intense waves.
Autumn was an end announcing the approach of a new beginning. And this was exactly that.

Satosho and his 'found' family hanging out
Notes: - written for a daily drabble challenge im doing with friends in the satosho discord - Rated G, drabble, - Set in the Lost and Found -verse Ao3 Link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/52794004/chapters/134440753
...
Satoru figured that after dinner while all three of them were squeezed on Shoko's sofa was the best time to ask. Taichi was lying in Shoko's lap, watching a Bluey episode on her phone while his legs were draped over Satoru's. On Shoko's television, an old Digimon episode was playing.
Taichi liked having options. And occasionally looking up to parrot the onscreen Taichi's dialogue. This was the five thousandth time he had seen it, and he showed no signs of fatigue.
“Such a little show off,” Shoko chuckled, stroking his hair, pushing Taichi's fringe out of his eyes. Taichi’s eyes somehow stayed glued to the phone screen the whole time. Shoko shook her head and looked at Satoru, tone speculative. “Sounds like someone I know.”
“Yeah. Megumi.”
Satoru snickered, not bothering to duck as Shoko swiped at his head, messing up a few of the spikes. They relaxed back on the sofa afterward.
“How old is he, anyway?”
“Hmm.” And then Shoko winked at him before glancing to Taichi. “Hey, Taichi. How old are you again?”
Taichi let out a groan. “Moooom.”
“What? Mommy forgot.”
“Ugh!” Taichi threw his hands in the air exasperatedly.
Shoko's mouth tugged but she maintained her composure.
Satoru on the other hand was fighting for his life, trying to keep a straight face. Talk about dramatic. Sounded like someone he kn— wait a minute.
“Please Taichi?” Shoko implored.
Taichi wagged a finger at her. “How many times I gotta tell ya, woman. I. Am-” He stuck out a chubby hand and wiggled all five fingers— “four!”
Satoru coughed.
“Ahh I see. No wonder you're so smart. My smart boy. Smarter than Mommy, huh?”
“Hmph!” He went back to Bluey without another word.
Woman? Satoru mouthed to Shoko.
Shoko just shrugged and went back to stroking His Royal Haughtiness’ hair.

I noticed that I've never posted the entire set of doodles from my personal Digimon Writing Challenge - Mix and Match this year. It has been a fun way of exploring the different dynamics between the Chosen Children, other Digimon partners than their own - and how each of them are handling their most prominent traits during various points of their lives. Some stories were a little rushed, but I am overall really proud of how they turned out!

Sharing
Word Count: 525 Prompt: & Sora A/N: I honestly think I'm a little bad at writing interactions between Taichi and Sora. Maybe it has something to do with my personal attachment to him, or maybe it has to do with the fact that I (admittedly) don't think of them often. I'm always worrying about his interactions with Yamato, Hikari, Koushiro... but not Sora. I hope to rectify that here, even if it rehashes some of the same pain I touched on in the Yamato drabble. Here's to you, Sora! @taichiyagamiweek
There had been a time when being in the same room as Sora had been as easy as breathing. Another part of himself, someone he could rely on, always. Of course, he could still rely on her, and he always would be able to, but something had changed over the years. He was well aware that part of it was his fault, the way he let his feelings dictate his every move, but he also knew that Sora would tell him they were both at fault. Even on the days when he wasn't sure if he knew her, he understood her all too well.
"You, too, huh?" he murmured, noting the distinct lack of a certain pink-feathered bird. "Why didn't you tell us?"
Sora bowed her head, some strands of her hair falling over her face. "It hurt too much."
"Yeah. I get that." He tapped his fingers awkwardly on the table, trying to find something to say. It had been a while since they'd last seen each other, long before either of them had faced a greater loss than they were willing to go through. Taichi thought perhaps it would bring them closer together, as it had for him and Yamato, but maybe it was bound to drive them further apart.
"Taichi," Sora said quietly. When he looked up, she was giving him that look of sheer compassion she'd always been a pro at directing his way "I'm so sorry."
He blinked, and suddenly they were both in tears. Across the table, their hands sought each other, curling into each other as they had back when they'd played soccer together. Instead of congratulating each other on a job well done, however, they were sharing in a pain neither of them had imagined they would feel. For so long, the Digimon had simply been a part of them. Why did they have to be taken away so soon?
Bent over themselves, they cried out all the pain they'd been bottling inside for the sake of the others. Taichi had thought that perhaps their bond could never truly return to what it had been, once upon a time. He wasn't so sure of that anymore. Funny how the Digital World was still bringing them together, even as it tore their hearts out.
It took a while, but Taichi eventually straightened and squeezed her hand. "We should go get some water. I feel a headache coming on."
She smiled as she got up and followed him out of the room. "And here I thought I was the group mom."
He laughed guiltily. "You look after us, but you gotta let us look after you, too, sometimes." Meeting her brown eyes with his own, he added, "Besides, the three of us only have each other now."
Sora just stared at him for a moment before shaking her head. "That's not true. We still have five other friends."
"There she is," he said to himself as she entered the kitchen ahead of him. It would always hurt—that was the thing with losing your literal other half. But maybe, just maybe, some of the old Sora would still be around.
