A bony hand stretched out on the ground and clawed its way forward, dragging the dead weight of the body attached to it. After pulling itself forward for some distance, the other hand then reached out, no doubt to repeat the same task, but it trembled the moment it exerted some force. A groan rang out, followed by a choked sob. Fingers opened and closed several times until finally, along with the sound of someone’s deep exhale, it clenched into a fist before once again shooting out, grabbing onto the dirt. One hand, then the other, again and again, the body crawled on the ground like a smashed cockroach with some of its legs still intact, leaving a trail of blood in its wake. The mask on the man’s face had cracked, and in this land, that could only mean death. He shouldn’t have accepted that order. He should’ve just endured the hunger or gnawed on some bark when he really couldn’t take it. If he had, then by this time, he would’ve still been lying in the ruins, gazing at the stars above through the gaps in the debris. But there haven’t been any stars lately, he suddenly remembered. His hands paused. He frowned, lips parting as if to speak, but then he shook his head before he could think too much. One at a time, he thought, then continued on his way.

“Are you awake,” Isagi whispers, but receives no reply. When he starts to turn around however, the king groans and puts his chin over the top of Isagi’s head while holding him tighter against his chest. “Mmh— stop thinkin‘n go back to sleep.” Isagi snorts and looks up at Shoei, cheek pressed against his chest. Shoei's resting heartbeat against his ear is slow and steady. “...I don’t think I can, though.” “Well try,” Shoei grumbles, voice still groggy from sleep. Isagi sighs and rests his head against the pillow. It was already unlikely he would have fallen asleep, but now that he knows Shoei is awake too, there's no chance of that. But it is still really comfortable, like this. Shoei’s long hair tickles his cheek, and Isagi inhales the lingering lime and cedarwood notes of his shampoo. The warmth of Shoei’s large body against his back combined with the pressure of his forearm against his stomach is enough to make Isagi’s insides flutter, and his mind stir. He traces his fingers along Shoei’s arm, runs them over his knuckles, and wraps them around his hand. Now that the idea has entered his head, there is nothing Isagi can do to prevent his body from responding to it as it pleases. “I’m sorry,” he mutters and guides Shoei’s hand lower, over the curve of his abdomen, before sliding it between his legs. A moment of shivering anticipation, followed by a quiet exhale and a rush of heat when Shoei seizes him while pushing his hips forward. With the king, there’s always the risk of getting told to piss off, no matter the situation or the mood. It doesn’t even matter that it’s Isagi’s birthday, there’s something downright superhuman about his partner's ability to resist being pressured into anything. But that’s also the exact reason why everything with him feels so rewarding. Isagi never has to guess if Shoei is doing something just to please him, just to be kind. Even if he sometimes does things he doesn’t want to, he will always make sure everyone within earshot knows that. So, when Shoei decides to join him, and does it without a single word, letting his actions speak for themselves instead… There’s nothing like it. Nothing like these moments where their desires perfectly align. Where they are able to meet one another in the middle and meld— to deliver each other what they want. It’s a connection stripped of every preconception, every pretence, every distortion. The purest union.

I'm floating between projects at the moment, but here's an excerpt from something I've been tipping away at. Canon wasn't giving Kunigami enough angst, so I went and made him worse 🔥 /s

The doctor sits down and calmly explains--as he already knows--that it's early-stage Hanahaki. Kunigami barely listens to the options he recites. His mind’s already made. He requests surgery as soon as the doctor draws pause. “Oh—of course. That's the most rational choice,” the man says, eyebrow quirked behind his glasses. “Though, if you don't mind me saying, it normally takes more to convince patients. As I explained, there are few long-term complications from the surgery. It shouldn't affect your life once you've recuperated. But, are you sure? It means your feelings will be removed, alongside the growth.” “I'm certain,” Kunigami growls, lips pressed in a thin line. The rational choice. It's exactly what Noel Noa would do. Therefore it's the only choice for him. There's no room for sentimentality when it comes to his livelihood.

Write, but I hadn't had energy to do more than plan things lately. I'd love to get back into reading fanfic again too, but I don't have focus for anything more than slightly long. I have read a bit more for books lately though. Would love to learn to draw better but again, where is the time/energy

This varies and I have multiple anyhow. I've been feeling forest green more this year

How to pick...Reese's cups are high up there but I don't have often. Paprika crisps. Crunchy seaweed snacks but I can't eat that too often because I worry about getting too much iodine. Can raspberries count?

Japan. I'd love to go see the cherry blossoms, Mount Fuji, the architecture and cultural sights, eat lots of sushi, try more Japanese sweets (mmm doriyaki)

I've been spiralling hard into Bachisagi and Blue Lock since I started watching the anime and your blog has come up so often so just thank you for being so welcoming to everyone who is just now joining the fun and for all the wonderful Bachisagi content. It's very much appreciated 💓 also I saw you post about a Blue Lock ship week and I'd love to potentially get involved bc I definitely do want to write for the fandom but also I wanted to suggest maybe setting up a server? With the fandom growing, it would be nice to have a central place for people to come together and talk and since Tumblr took away group chats, a Discord server might be the best bet. Even if you dont want to start it yourself (which is valid, running a server can be time consuming), maybe someone will see this post and take the initiative! Either way, happy to be here and see the ship picking up steam 😁

I've been thinking a lot about Devi since I finished S2 and the way she sees herself guts me. Looking at S2 in continuity with S1, Devi in 1x02 expresses that she doesnt see herself as deserving of love or happiness bc she always messes things up. Her mistakes, both in S1 and S2, only reinforce that and build to the turmoil she feels at the end of S2 when she's struggling to understand why her dad calls her his perfect girl. The way she reacts to Aneesa, the way she needs to be convinced by multiple people that she deserves better than being kept a secret, her internalization of people calling her 'crazy'. All of that is Devi feeling insecure about who she is and what she deserves. Devi grows so much in S2 but god, there's still so much pain, so much grief and trauma to unpack and I just can't wait for S3. I love Ben x Devi and I'm looking forward to seeing more of their story play out but more than anything, I want Devi to get to a place where she feels healed, whole. I want her to love and be loved and be secure in that. Just good things for Devi pls 💕
