Don’t get me wrong I love teenwolf. But!

Stiles’s trauma was so fucking over looked. I feel like the show moved on from the nogitsune and the side affects it had on stiles.

Like they could’ve done such a good job with the strain on stiles psyche. Bc I loved the way they showed the panic attacks.

Like sure they touched on the panic attacks and the insomnia. But I would’ve loved to see stiles like actually break in the series. Maybe I just love angst too much.

Also loved the parallels in the two scenes where stiles has a gun pointed to his head. It’s definitely a good parallel where the watcher can see the strain on stiless mental as the show progressed.

Or when Theo is antagonizing stiles about “void stiles”. I wanted to see stiles tap into that side of him so bad throughout the series after that confrontation.

my year in review

Spotify Wrapped is out, and I honestly don't know how much more I'll get done this year (I'm going to be busy IRL), so I suppose it's not too early for this!

i've found that doing the twelve-months-of-art meme chart thing doesn't accurately summarize my year anymore, because when I have an active project going that's all I do, and then there are no illustrations to show for those months, so the chart gives a disappointing impression that I just didn't do anything. so here's a list, instead:

Original work

Started and completed a 28-page chapter of a new(ish) webcomic For 2024: Chapter 2... hooray

Completed a sketchbook full of artwork with a scanned digital version This includes a completed Smaugust challenge For 2024: finishing another sketchbook, at some point, I hope; and probably at least one monthly art challenge

A rough NaNoWriMo draft of 50,000 words. Unfortunately, the story is not done (and I think maybe the whole first half of the draft needs to be cut, too), but I met my personal goal of actually using the pretty notebooks that were just sitting on my bookshelf all year, blank and unloved. For 2024: I have no idea if anything in this draft will see the light of day or if I will need to start over entirely. But it was good practice.

Going forward I would like to try out doing more video content, like process videos. I started dabbling with that this year but then took a long break from it because I had a technical issue that required hardware replacement and the re-setting of all my software.

Personal

I sent a goal to read 100 books this year, as of posting this I'm up to 103.

I finally played Beholder 2 instead of just looking at it sitting in my Steam library

Kid is really interesting. I love how punk he is both in design and personality and his chara design is a W. I can understand why Kid is hated by some people, even though I love him. Kid is morally gray and his ego is so… BIG.

However, I think it's also quite a trend to trash talk about Kid, and honestly, idc. We all have different likes. I just hate when Kid fans are trashed for no reason. It's so childish, but well, that kind of thing is pretty common in the Animanga community… 😅

And regarding chapter 1079, I'm still so pissed off. lol. I knew it was going to happen, Shanks is much stronger than Kid, but nonetheless it was painful. But I’m pretty sure he will come back. I just don't see the point of killing Kid so early and quickly. Kid, alongside Law and Luffy, is considered an essential figure for the new generation, as stated by how Oda wrote the trio in WaNo. Kid still have a lot to show in the story. (his conqueror haki, his back story I hope etc) Killing him that early would be a weird move... we didn’t even see his body drowning or whatever lol, it was so fast.

Plus, considering all the parallels between Kid and Luffy (I mean punk is associated with freedom. Kid and Luffy are both associated to the idea of "child", Kid by his name and Luffy by his birthday + Oda’s declarations. They have the same goal. They are the only ones with a right hand supernovae. Their attacks have many similarities. The opposition between the steel and the elastic is really interesting. Etc.… even the narration when Kid is defeated is really similar to Sabondy.) So, I think it’s for a reason. Kid will be back, probably in Elbaf, I have faith. We need to inhale copium. 😭

i’ve seen a few people recently blame obi-wan for anakin turning to the dark side. and i’m genuinely curious why? (this turned out longer than i expected)

i’ll explain how i see it, but i’d love to see others takes on this.

i’ve always blamed palpatine for it. he quite literally groomed anakin from the moment he became a jedi. always talking to him, complimenting him. palpatine fed lies upon lies to anakin who could only agree with him. how could he have known any better?

anakin not being as open with him is not obi-wan’s fault. palpatine probably fed lies that obi-wan didn’t trust anakin. or that obi-wan didn’t want to train anakin. (Not that extreme but close)

and anakin has always been unstable. he was a slave until he was 9 years old. he had to leave his mother behind. his mental state was fucked. this already gave the emotional pain that palpatine needed. then anakin seeing his mother die. he probably talked to palpatine before obi-wan.

and yes after anakins fall obi-wan blamed himself. he blamed himself for not heeding dooku’s warning, for not doing something about anakins weird relationship with the chancellor, for not being able to save his fallen brother.

but i don’t understand people actually blaming obi-wan. he didn’t know. how could he have ever known? palpatine is t h e sith. his fucked plan was executed to perfection. even if obi-wan tried to step in it probably would have ended the same.

Okay so …

Let’s talk about Francesca

So initially I was liking her just in contrast to Savannah, Savannah was initially doing more ‘sneaky’ ‘strategic’ things in comparison to Francesca. Francesca was on the receiving end of weird behavior, so I liked her.

BUT THEN

Francesca enters the boardroom ..

And sets herself up with someone on a date .. in front of the guy that clearly had feelings for her. That choice rubbed me the wrong way, but it wasn’t something I could fault hee for I guess? The energy surrounding it was just weird.

So time passes and she dumps her initial guy for the guy she went on a date with .. cool. But get this - she’s then angry that someone else picks her old guy to be with 😂😂😂 WHAT. And it doesn’t stop there 😂😂 she ACTIVELY tries to break them up (Dom and Georgia) gives Georgia the cold shoulder and just over all acts very two-faced, very mean girlish, very selfish. I don’t want to say MANIPULATIVE on the internet because I can’t recall what EXACTLY happened. But I felt that way. I could pick her out as a Scorpio easily by how well she ‘played’ things and how she moved in relative silence.

But Georgia the Sagittarius is my fav rn. 😘 the end, tell me what you guys think I wanna know.
