I blocked the cnc tag because it makes me uncomfortable, and for a while I couldnt avoid those posts for some reason, Tumblr just kept showing them to me, but instead of just blocking the tag, it does this, and I don't understand it

If I block a tag, that means I don't want to see that thing at all, Tumblr, are you aware of that

I really don't like how filtering a word on tumblr doesn't actually remove that type of content from your dash, it instead hides it, with a button that lets you view the post. I'd really like it if you could choose between completely hiding or just censoring posts with certain words in them, it would help a lot for people who have specific words they don't ever want to see, and in general it would just be a really helpful accessibility feature

like don't get me wrong, in this specific instance it is very funny, but sometimes I'd rather just not see it at all

So twitter locked me out of my acc of 4 years so I've crawled back to my original dwelling space like a coward. Ngl tho, I forgot how nice and chill tumblr is now, and my feed is still very similar to my twt feed. Feels like coming home :)

                the host clears his throat as the other speaks, oh how cruel the way beaten heart flutters beneath the cage of ribs, how it warms and brings color to features. my star. something that means such different things to so many, a star, a wish, a gravestone. poetic in it’s meaning, just as they are in all things, taliesin has learned. how far meaning spans, how easily what it means slips from his grasp as soon as they say it. how long has it been since they’ve seen each other ? since they’ve been face to face ?  a fragile smile tilts lips, something kind, something tinted with faded melancholy.

                  eyes find kingston again, cautiously.   “ it is … well, i hardly think this is the place to talk about how it’s treating me, dear. ”   you never know who’s listening, what eyes are set upon them, and he would much rather avoid the flicker of camera shutters.   “ i’ll tell you all about it, if you let me fix the mess you’ve made of your own head, hm ? or at least let me take you to someone who can touch it up a bit. ”   to be fair to the other, it wasn’t terribly bad, but minor touch ups would no doubt need done. 

Love never dies. There is no grave for something that can never be fully explained. Love has no limit on age, but it matures with the body, with the soul, with the mind. The giddiness of young lovers is exposed to time, growing wise with age, and roaming eyes that never know where to look, once devouring every morsel of the other, now rest so softly on Taliesin's eyes as if they could cradle him in their very look. Red cheeks, glancing away eyes, that sliver of a smile that draws the vision down to it, are nestling into Kingston's mind with familiarity akin to finding your way back home after missing it for so long.

There's a laugh. There has to be. A chuckle that floats along in the wind, melodic in its own way. "A professional's touch isn't right for the persona I need to wear," they defend with a smile spreading. There's always confidence, even if it's built on just trusting in what the moment offers, to experience life as it comes, soaking in every moment that's given. This game of theirs is worth playing, a winding road of emotion that's savored. What Taliesin gives to them, whether he knows it or not, is worth playing, even if they never win.

"Take me under your wing, then?" they ask with a step forward, arm out for him to take, to wind around with his own. "I want to walk a mile in your shoes, to see what you have seen. Paint me the most vivid image to tease me whilst I wait for you to mend me."

I need Stan and Ford to see their mom again

Like let's say she's still alive and in her 80s, she's in a wheelchair (ambulatory, she has customized canes) she still lives in their old home because a part of her hoped Stanford would come back, and she didn't want to leave their home, so he'd know where to go back to.

She wanted to stay put in case Ford came back.

So imagine her shock when both her boys come back home to her

Obviously Stan immediately starts apologizing for faking his death, putting her through grief, her arranging and attending his funeral, but she stops him like "I'd much rather it be fake than real." That's her baby boy, back from the dead, something most people don't get, so to her it's a miracle.

Her Jersey accent is thick, and it actually brings out the twins' accents that had faded over time (Stan's sounds natural to him since he always retained it a little, but everyone finds it funny when Ford's accent comes back because he just doesn't seem like the type to speak like that)

THEY MOVE HER INTO THE SHACK

The boys wanna take care of their mama and keep her around since it's been so long, and Caryn is delighted to be moved out of a loud city with rough memories and into a quiet little town where the people are odd but nice. Ford and Stan both work together to make the Shack accessible for her. Ford actually sat in her wheelchair to test everything and make sure she could get around on her own.

They catch her up on everything, and at first they don't think she'll fully believe them but she's like "Stanford built an international portal and got lost for 30 years? Stanley took his place and turned his home into tourist trap? Yeah, that seems like something my boys would do."

When she learns Stan taught himself engineering to re-build the portal, she's obviously very proud of him. "You were never dumb, Stanley, ya just learned different. Honestly, I always thought ya had A-D-H-D but Pa never wanted ya tested. But look how smart and creative ya turned out, son! I think ya did good." And Stan is definitely not crying.

Personal headcanon: Caryn was also really smart and picked up on things quick. The boys had to have gotten it from somewhere, and it wasn't Filbrick. He just took the credit because 1) he was the worst, and 2) times were different back then and no one would have really taken her seriously. But she's the one who would fix things around the house since she taught herself how to keep the place together and running since Filbrick wouldn't pay anyone to come and repair anything.

Imagine little Stan standing behind her with a flashlight while she fixes the wiring in the wall because an outlet stopped working. Both of the boys helping her while she fixes the car for the third time that week because it keeps breaking down. Mama Pines taught herself how to keep things up and running because no one else would or could.

Caryn meets Mabel and Dipper when they come back in the summer, and Mabel is THRILLED

She's technically met them before but they were still newborns at the time so they don't remember her, and she hadn't gotten a chance to see who they'd become

Mabel makes her a sweater and she wears it with pride. And I really think it would go like that scene from Elemental

Caryn: You made this?

Mabel: Oh, yeah, it's nothing-

Caryn: Nothin? Babygirl, my designer dresses were made by 'nothin.' Oh sweetie, you have got to do somethin' with this skill. And to think, I have an original 'Mabel Pines.'

And don't think I'm leaving Dipper out of this, he gets his great-grandma's attention too. She loves talking to him and listening to him tell stories about the monsters they've encountered in the past. She sees a lot of Ford in him, but she also sees a lot of Stan in him in other ways.

I think Dipper's love for "girly" music is something Stan used to share before Filbrick "disciplined" him for it. Child Stan used to sit in the kitchen with his Ma and sing along to the radio, usually listening to whatever she had put on.

Now all three of them sit in the kitchen and listen to the radio while Stan cooks.

Ford feeling like a failure for putting everyone in danger, and Caryn just goes, "Come talk to your mama." And he does. He goes and talks to his mama, like he always has in the past. She's in her 80s and they're grown men in their late 50s, but she's still their mom, and you never really quit being a mom.

I might actually write a short fic about this, I love it so much.

Random Headcanon of the week:

Stan has never purchased a new pair of socks before

I see so much fanart where his socks have holes in them, both as young Mullet Stan, and as current Stan

So I'm saying he's still wearing the same socks he got kicked out with, and has worn them for 40+ years

And the worst part is that he sees nothing wrong with this

Stan: *puts worn, tatterd, scrap of fabric on the bottom of his foot before putting a shoe on*

Ford: What the hell was that?

Stan: My sock?

Ford: No the hell it wasn't

Stan:

Ford: Tell me you're lying, please

Stan: I can't

Ford: Stanley, there's no sock left, you just put string in your shoe and thought it was fine
