Khem. I just know that codblr team would have these evening after rough missions or in generally hard week where they all would get together in one room and sit in silence, like relaxing, cuddle if needed, maybe talk but in hushed tones. Just to take in what happened and realise that everyone, despite close calls and injuries, is alive.

I think it started when someone got seriously injured and was laid in this one room in the safe house where everyone else kind of gathered around them and stayed there looking after the injured one, taking turns in changing bandages and etc. until they woke up. Then it happened again and again until it was a tradition of some sort

Cellbit's interview by Cucurucho!

Not exact wording bc i was noting this down in a mad scramble but all the questions and the leadup!!!

First thing, Bobinho (Portuguese-speaking rabbit) showed up and him and Cellbit discussed the issue of his and Roier's wedding rings again (Cellbit is going to kill them if they don't give them back, essentially). Bobinho said he would work on it, and that he had something to show him at spawn. The something was Cucurucho waiting in his office to interview Cellbit. Cellbit asked Cucurucho about the rings, and Cucurucho handed him a book saying "Isn't that your department?" Cellbit then said he doesn't work for them anymore, and doesn't work for anyone, but Cucurucho said this:

So basically they're still holding his contract (from May) over him. They both kind of agreed to table that discussion and get into the interview for the moment, though.

Interview questions:

Cucurucho: Biggest accomplishment? Cellbit: Destroying your project (presumably the Minimes event) Cucurucho: Favorite memory? Cellbit: When you discovered I destroyed your project. Cucurucho: Have you ever felt like the protagonist in the story, and when? Cellbit: No. Cucurucho: Are you sure? Cellbit: I want nothing to do with you, I want the rings back. And then Cucurucho laughed & gave him the August employee of the month poster again, which Cellbit threw away a couple minutes later.

Cellbit also gave Bobinho a mission afterwards to give the rings back by the 29th or die.

“yea daddy! mama’s been teaching me. she says if i keep practicing, i’ll be able to speak spanish as good as she does!” he exclaims softly.

jack had been calling you ‘mama’ for a little over three months now, and yet your heart still melts every time the word tumbles from his lips when he’s referring to you. “that’s right jackers, you sure will!” you smile.

“i love the way you love him” aaron whispers to you as the three of you are sat in the living room, watching little einsteins—per jack’s request.

“i love the way he loves me” you whisper, stroking the small boys hair. “he might not be mine, but i love him like he is. and i’ll continue to do that for as long as you’ll let me” you promise, smiling up at your boyfriend.

“i’ll let you do it for the rest of your life if that’s what you want” he hums, pressing a kiss to the middle of your forehead before pulling you and jack to his chest. “my two favorite people” he hums contently.

I believe he learnt a language at school. Of course english, every school teaches english, and maybe it started with french. Honestly? The hardest language I'm learning rn but he was so good at it, the best ill correct myself, and got invested in it. Who needs sports if there are so many languages out there. Then he found a german, georgian, polish, spanish, ukrainian (his favourite in sounding, truly beautiful language, i can recommend some songs if you want). He can't speak all of 'em but knows enough to understand.

But Nik? Nik, who knew early on in his life that he was different and could feel the way it was altering the path of his life. Price, who’s interest and fascination was completely innocent at first, but then Nik starting flirting with him in Russian, in French, and he was a goner.

Humility & Humiliate

The word HUMAN comes from Latin word “humus”. It means earth or ground. A Fransican priest and author Richard Rohr has written, “Being human means to acknowledge that we are made from earth and will return to earth. We are earth that has come to consciousness”.

The word HUMILITY is also derived from a Latin word humilis which means grounded or from the earth. Another word variant of the word human is HUMILIATE, meaning to reduce someone to a lower position, bring the person to ground (Latin word Humilis derived from Humus).

These two words ‘Humility’ & ‘Humiliate’ although derived from the same root ‘humus’ are on the opposite ends of the spectrum with regards to their meaning. To humiliate is to cause a painful loss of pride, self-respect or dignity, in contrast humility means a modest opinion of one’s own importance. The main difference between these two words is that of autonomy. Being humble is an individual’s choice while being humiliated is a situation in which an individual is thrust into by another person.

There is very thin line in becoming one of these words. I believe that it is somehow linked to the ‘Gunas’ in humans. Satva, Rajo & Tamo. Tamo Gunas are considered to be the lowest form of Gunas that arise from desires and greed of the mind. Rajo Gunas involve intellect and need a conscious mind to perform them. Satva Gunas is based on wisdom, consciousness and awareness of the being (spiritual). It means the light, the purity, the kindness, charity and compassion.

So as a human being when we embark on a journey from Tamo----Rajo-----to Satva Guna, we also undertake the journey from Humiliate to Humility. Being humble usually gets associated to being passive, submissive or insecure. But this is far from truth, humble people are quite opposite. They are so much confident and competent about themselves that they seek to self- actualize by helping others.

Humility is very simple to achieve. In fact, it is much simpler than to humiliate others. In order to humiliate you need to think more about the other person to know his weaknesses, habits, status, etc. So, it is dependent on someone else’s behaviour or traits. But being humble is in our own hands we are not dependent on anyone else to inculcate humility. All it takes to being humble is to put our sensory organs to right use.

See (eyes) the positives in others with our eyes,

Listen (ears) more to others,

Feel (touch) the hearts and create a bond of relationship,

Smell (nose) the fragrance of life by participating in others happiness,

Spread sweet taste (mouth) around when you speak.

As you all know, there are three gunas or qualities. They are sattva, rajas and tamas. Three gunas come into our life in cycles. When sattva comes, there is alertness, knowledge, interest and joy in everything. When rajo guna comes, more desires, selfishness, restlessness and sadness arise in us. When tamo guna comes, delusion, attachment, lack of knowledge, lethargy, all this comes. These three come in life, turn by turn. But one who is centered will watch, witness and just move through that very naturally, innocently, without being averse to it.

 

When aversion comes what happens? You are promoting it. Whatever you are averse to, you stay with it and whatever you crave for, you continue to crave for it. You allow the craving to continue. Without craving or aversion, moving through the guna is pure skill and that is yoga. It is said: ‘Yogaha karmasu kaushalam’ - the skill in action is yoga. Yoga itself means skill. Yoga is the skill to live life, skill to manage your mind, skill to deal with your emotions, skill to be with people, skill to be in love and not let love turn into hatred.

Everyone loves in this world. Everything loves, but that love does not stay too long as love. It immediately becomes hatred, almost immediately. But yoga is that skill, that preservative which maintains love as love throughout.

Question from the audience: Dear Guruji, if a habit is developed of separating oneself from everything in an artificial way, you will lose spontaneity, attunement with nature and will not be fully engaged in life by giving your 100 percent. How do you walk this tightrope? How do you know if you are too far from one side and the other?

hi! i was thinking about some things a lot of english speakers i know do, sometimes me, and wondering if there were similar -- but not equivalent -- things in spanish. like, how when a lot of us speak aloud, we drop the "g" on words that end with "-ing" ("talkin," "thinkin," etc.). or how when we say "kitten" or "rotten" a lot of us say it like "kih-in" or "rah-in", dropping the t. do those make you think of anything similar in spanish? (could be dropping letters, could be common ways of casual speaking that if u're just learning spanish from formal sources u might not learn, etc. ik it's kind of a broad question -- just wondering about an example or two that come to mind, ik a full answer could and probably has taken up books. and i'm sure it probably varies by country and/or region, too)

Oh it's super common in Spanish in different ways

There are syllables that get "swallowed" all the time

Some examples:

estar in present tense turning to ta; like ta llorando is está llorando "he/she is crying"... practically any time you see the -ing in English replaced as -in' you see toy/tás/tá/tán/tamos + verb in progressive as a kind of approximation

dónde turning into on; combining with estar you get onta or ontas like "where is it?" or "where are you?" [¿dónde estás? -> ¿ontas? in other words]

todo el día "all day" -> tol día

para -> pa [sometimes pa' to let you know it was para] para nada "not at all" -> pa ná

There's a joke in Spanish about pa él "for him" and pa'ella "for her" OR "paella"

And practically any word ending in -ado or -ada can have the D suddenly disappear

So like está muy callado "he is very soft-spoken" or "he is very quiet" can come out as tá muy callao

The feminine form tends to omit the D sound and collapse or conflate the A sounds together, so está muy callada can kind of sound like tá muy callá

That's why para nada sometimes comes out like pa ná because without the D you have two A sounds together which just kind of become one A sound

I have also heard clarostá which is claro está so it comes out like "fo sho" or "fursure" or something instead of "for sure"

I know that in South America you sometimes hear eres "you are" come out more like eri. And there are times when es "it is" or "he/she is" comes out like é which is similar to Italian

And por is often shortened to po'. In Chile the expression po comes out like the Canadian "eh"... like you can just end a sentence with po for emphasis. I'm not totally sure if it's an abbreviated version of por supuesto "of course" or por cierto "by the way" or some other por expression, but po is very common

...

There is also baby talk which is a little different but a friend of mine likes to say pobue tigüe or pobre/pobue tigüecito which is "poor tiger"... kind of like "poow widdle tiger"?

R sounds in baby talk end up as ü or W-ish sounds; like if I were trying to baby talk grande I would write it as "guande"

Same friend also says aícara instead of ay caramba/ay carajo which I enjoy

...

Somewhat related but BUE- or GUE- or HUE- is often spoken as if it were W

I have heard/said/seen people say weno/a instead of bueno/a, or hearing abuelo/a as something closer to awelo/a, or el vuelo "flight" sounding like el welo

There is also a linguistic link to huevón "dumbass" to Chile's use of weón and its verb expressions with wear or wea

I'm sure there are linguists who study this kind of thing, especially with the internet there's all kinds of abbreviations and approximations and contractions of words
