Thank you for the tag, @bard-llama! Now I do only have 9 fics on ao3, but I'm gonna do it anyway and just see what happens. So!

Most Hits: A Long Way Home, with a whopping 57,608, leaving runner up Bad Company in the dust with a measly 7158 hits.

Most Kudos: Once again, A Long Way Home storms into first place with 2342, miles ahead of Back To The Start, coming in with a mere 264.

Most Comments: To nobody's surprise, it is once again A Long Way Home with 419 comment threads, roundly thrashing Bad Company's 94.

Most Bookmarks: Did you guess it right? Of course you did, it's A Long Way Home with 1045. All my fics have bookmarks though, which is nice. Yes, even the Fifty Shades parody.

Most Words: Plot twist, it's Bad Company, with 138,024 words! However, that one is completed and A Long Way Home is closing in with 80,038 words, and we haven't even met Toph yet.

Least Words: That honour goes to Slippery When Wet, the itty bitty little CSI one-shot I backed up from ff.net a few weeks ago. It was inspired by one of those random prompt generators that were popular back in the ol' LJ days and I really wish I could find a similar one, because I'd love to do some more of them again.

That was fun! But it did remind me that I really need to get back to posting the old fanfics I backed up. Some of them are very cringe, but I’d hate to see them disappear. Also let me know your fave random prompt generators, I really do need a new one.

P: Pose or Play Your Sims?

Play! I do (or did) pose for family portraits, and sometimes to set up a scene for my more story-centred households, but all of that comes from the personality or story they show me when I play them. I don’t get nearly as much fun out of playing the game than posing the Sims like dolls. 

R: Cartoony or Realistic Sims?

Leaning more on the cartoony side, though not too extreme or wacky. My playstyle is generally more realistic with the BaCC (careers are linked to town growth, for example, and I like my ruleset to be logical), but I do allow a few quirky Sims, such as that steampunk family, Francesca Jane and her carnival getup, and I still get a laugh out of my bridal driver. :) 

As for CC/defaults/etc., definitely on the Maxis-Match side of the fence...although I feel like that term has become so broad it doesn’t really mean anything anymore. I would like my game to head closer to the base game look--yep, low-poly, fuzzy textures, pokey faces, weird 2000s fashions...fast-loading game...they’re appealing to me more than ever! But I also like too much of the CC I have accumulated. I feel like the “true” Maxis-match look would be a pretty drastic change in my BaCC (not to mention how daunting it is to replace missing items/eyebrows/clothes/etc. after a big CC change/cull) so sometimes I’m tempted to start a new ‘hood and build up the Downloads folder from scratch, but...that’s a lot of work. And when I do have time to play I’d rather play the BaCC ‘hood instead of some new investment. 

Anyway, that was a bit of a ramble, sorry. Short answer: mostly cartoony. :)

Oh, yeah. I hardly ever really delete anything. Mostly I just dump stuff on the massive networked external hard drive(s) we have. So, if I want it back, I can get it. Of course, the trouble would be finding the stuff I want to restore without restoring the whole broken mess because then I’m back to figuring out what’s broken and what isn’t and...uh, yeah, that would be a project. :)

And, actually, I don’t think the DR’ing I’m thinking of doing would be a terribly big project for me. I’ve already defaulted a lot of the career/NPC outfits, for instance. And when I think about it, I’m perfectly OK with a lot of the Maxis clothes in terms of style. (Like I said, I’m really not that picky. :) ) I’m pickier about texture quality than style, and the stuff from later EPs/SPs has pretty nice textures in terms of not pixellating and things like that. So I’d really only have to focus on stuff from the basegame and the earlier EPs/SPs. Like, maybe Open For Business and older. So it wouldn’t be too bad. I’d just need to psych up and get ‘er done.

i got sick of dealing with pregmorphs a while back and decided to just default-replace the maxis maternity wear instead. it means you can’t really control what they wear, but it’s so much less hassle that to me it’s worth it!

I’m kind of getting sick of obsessing over pregmorphs, too. :/ Which is another reason for considering doing this because maybe half of the stuff I have has preg morphs and half doesn’t, and the idea of going through all the meshes and checking for morphs is just....Yeah, it makes me kind of queasy just thinking about it. :) 

For adults, I think I would be OK with just defaulting the Maxis maternity wear and removing the “preggos wear anything” mod. I mean, when you get down to it, whatever they wear, even if it’s the terrible Maxis outfits, it’s only for two days, for heaven’s sake. :) The bigger issue for me is teens, since I use Inteen. Inteen comes with outfits for pregnant female teens/YAs -- and those will do well enough for those two days -- but not for males, and my teen/YA males do occasionally get knocked up by aliens, so...I dunno. That being said, I do have the capability of adding preg morphs to meshes, at least for full-body outfits, so there’s that...if I can figure out how to replace the meshes.

For my new game I decided to go for the default replacement option. I really like it and it’s so great to finally see townies with style xD

Oh, I townified all the custom stuff I have, so townies already wear that stuff. Sometimes in...er, interesting...combinations, but... yeah. This would be simpler in that regard, too. Although they can still make “interesting” combinations with the Maxis separates, even when DR’ed, of course. :)

The entomologist loves centipedes. She has loved them ever since she picked one up at eight and earned a big shot of venom right through a forcicule. (Her parents had been terrified she would die.) "They eat frogs," she'll inform any new audience "and mice - they can actually catch bats! In midair!" She wrote her doctoral thesis on their 'eyes' that aren't really eyes (and has, in fact, done some important research on replicating the 'false eye' effect inorganically) but what she really loves is the way centipedes move, on all their little legs. She has a tank of them in her home office; she feeds them live prey and she can watch them for hours, if nothing interrupts.

The entomologist does love other things. She loves her husband, and she loves Skipper, their clever, noisy little terrier with the white spot on his nose. Skipper has been missing for two months. Her husband is optimistic; he's Skip will find his own way home, but, darling, he isn't the only missing dog. There are a lot of missing dogs in the area. The authorities think it might be coyotes; maybe even a bear.

While she's been out looking for Skipper, or watching her centipedes, the entomologist's husband has been working on a secret project. "It's not quite finished yet," he apologizes cheerfully, "but since today's the most special day of the year-" (it's your birthday) "-I've been planning this for months but you know how I put things off-" (you both laugh) "-anyway, I know you're going to love it." The entomologist is sure she will. Her husband has always been almost abnormally thoughtful about gifts. "Happy Birthday!" he says, and she hears excited barking. "Tell Mama 'happy birthday', Skip." Skipper barks, joyful, long, and he wriggles in an a happy puppy dance, and he rears up to lick the entomologist's face on dozens of mismatched paws.

5. The cc I hoard - I do love cc. I almost always download cute kids toys and I love nice hair and clothes, but the stuff I download and then don’t use nearly as much as I should are the accessories, especially jewelry and tattoos. I have so many tattoo boxes, and none of my sims have tattoos yet!

13. What do I do when I am unmotivated...presumably with my Sims.

Umm...this doesn’t happen? Or, well, there are certainly months and months in the last 17 years where I haven’t played the Sims - too busy, no time. 

But if I don’t want to play, I build, I decorate, I plot stories in my head, I download cc, I read tumblr or Mod the Sims.

Switching between wants-based, goal-based and plot-based play keeps me invested. Having LOTS of different families, so I can play the happy perfect family and then the total disaster family, the business owner and the farmer and the clubbing type, also means that I don’t often end up in a rut.

15. My favourite Sims not by me...well, Dina Caliente has to be my favourite pre-made, but I think this means that others in the community have created. It’s a tie between Julius Merridew from @pixeldolly’s Walden and Thomas Norman from @rurpleplayssims Campbell Quay. I really like hapless guys who are kind. Plus, they are both supernaturals which I almost never play, but it’s interesting to see the other side.

Clearly I need to write more. Luckily, I do have photos ready to be blogged about. They are all Huntsville Revived. This is why I only do one post a day.

Hi, I'm using your mod for patterned puppies and kitten ever since it was released I think. But since I do not breed my pets a lot and only recently started to do so more I noticed something in my game: all litter mates always look the same and always look exactly like one parent. Do you think this could be related to you mod? And when using the puppy/kitten creator, the results are nice blends between the two parents. Thank you so much for helping me out and have wonderful holidays!

The pattern enabler “mod” is extremely lightweight, as it only touches the age property setting and nothing else, so it wouldn’t (or at least shouldn’t) be the cause of identical litter mates. If I had to wager a guess, this would either be a case of unlucky random chance, or it’s the game code itself not allowing for more variety and randomness. (Honestly, I would place more money on the second possibility, as littermates are often born with the same personalities as well, something which has always annoyed me.)

Edit to add @goingsimcrazy‘s comment: Don’t mix large and small dogs, because those will always look like one or the other of the parents.

What is a ship you used to ship, but don't anymore? Why don't you ship them anymore? Is there a ship you like that most people don't?

Hmmm, a ship I used to like but don’t anymore with Maxis sims might be Dina/Cassandra. I used to think it was a cute concept but now the idea of dating someone who dated your dad just seems, like, way too weird? lol. Dina also just radiates hetrosexuality to me 

Another is Nervous/Pascal, I used to love the idea of it but over time the idea of it just kinda creeps me out too, the age gap is huge and the gap in maturity/mental health kinda puts Pascal into more of a caregiver role I find a bit awkward

I have a lot of like “rarepairs” I like but to carry on from the Nervous chat, I actually kinda like him and Annie Howell from the PSP game? I know it’s kinda controversial putting him with a girl but idk, it’s canon in that game and there just aren’t any dudes in Strangetown I think work well as viable love interests, half the town is all mad scientists and then there’s like... Buzz Grunt? Ajay???? I like the idea of Nervous and Annie both being kinda damaged fucked up kids who have been through a lot, their relationship in my mind just has an “us against the world” vibe I like and their whole tragic romance was one of the things I liked in that game

I feel like I have dunked on a lot of gay ships lmao so, for balance, another ship I love that I never really see is Erin/Chloe! They’re an ememies-to-lovers couple I really like, I think they butt heads because they actually have so much in common and if they could figure out that common ground they could be so good together...

Me, too! Not just because she’s too young, but with four toddlers, Gideon needs help, especially since Erinella sleeps all day! My mom ran a neighborhood daycare. We had a set of twins who would help each other climb to places neither one could get to on their own. Mom found them on top of the dryer reaching for the bleach one day. Kids! They almost supernaturally know what they shouldn’t do, or what would be hardest for us! *shakes head in both admiration and admonishment*
