This is a tarantula blog now. I don't make the rules. I just post pictures of my handsome fellas.

Rider here has decided that this is a good morning to sit on his front porch! He looks so stunning- those freshly molted blues are amazing!

It only eats left-out food so that's fine, I just have to remember to put my food away. Can I pet it? Is it friendly if I'm not trying to trap it? Is it friendly to people who visit? (It only says that it won't hurt ME, and I want to make sure friends are safe.) Can I teach it tricks?

I mean, I'm taking the deal, I just want to know the limitations.

i love seeing posts made by arachnophobes that are like this bc it's just. there are literally 0 downsides to this situation. i get to live in my dream house AND have a big fluffy beast as a pet. this is fucking awesome.

Recently molted Chilobrachys fimbriatus. This is the first time I've seen her in over three weeks, I'm so happy to know that her molt went smoothly.

Delighted to inform you all that Chowder has become best friends with a large plastic tarantula. They are inseparable. He sleeps with it all day and carries it from room to room. I am not allowed to touch tarantula.

New Baby Acquired!

I went to my first expo yesterday! And I got two news Ts- one of whom is pictured above! Grammastola pulchra (Brazilian Black), likely a male. And he is a huge, handsome boy! I am absolutely in love.

He's already living up to the Grammastola reputation. Rehousing was a breeze, no hair kicking at all, very chill and docile. I have a larger and more suitable enclosure for him coming soon, but right now he is in a six inch cube and seems to be settling in alright.

My other new addition is a D. diamantinensis (Brazilian Blue Dwarf) and uhm. His name (her name?) is Menace. Because making housing readjustments to the little fucker was the most stressful thing I have ever done. I lost ten years of my life to the little bolty asshole.

I love him. I adore him. But holy SHIT dude. WHY???

The Golden Knee Tarantula

This was shot through a glass screen and the glass of the tarantula tank which were 4 inches apart, and that meant reflection. A combination of ‘burning’ and darkening of the mid-tones was used in post to fix the reflection.
