How do I put this. People are busy. People are tired. People are disinterested. People are lazy. People have biases of all sorts. People have lives to live and shit to do.
If you want your thing to be widely believed, widely understood, widely practiced, whatever, you have to find a way to explain convincingly it to tired, busy, disinterested, lazy, biased people with better shit to do than listen to you.
It's really impressive how intelligent and thoughtful people can be when they care about something—I mean really care, personally, not play-acting care for social status—and it's really shocking how dumb people can be when they don't care about something. But if you have a message for the world, you need to understand this.
In general, the world is very complex, and it is likely that the real solution to most problems of significance will be commensurately complex. But if you act aghast when busy, tired, biased, lazy people with shit to do just don't seem to grok your complex ideas instantaneously, it's you who needs to reconsider the realism in your expectations.
PR is a fact of life. Maybe this is horrific if you're a philosopher at heart, but it's true.

"You have a space for this"--- Okay?? Should I need a space for this? I'm not gonna shut up about a central part of my life because you prefer me in boxes, away from the 'subtly' transphobic friends you're trying to impress.
You were all for being unapologetically queer when I suggested it on the majority-queer server we're on... Does it change for you, so quickly, when it's suddenly not something seen as cool and based by the people around you ??

Sometimes I'll start being like "ougghh I'm over 25 I'm a creepy adult invading a childrens space I should go do my taxes reproduce and become an alcoholic like the withered old hag I am" and then I remember two well known figures of the 2010s creepypasta community are still active on here, significantly older than I am and just as prone to getting into stupid fanwank arguments as ever and I'll suddenly feel MUCH better

"reblog if you’ve read fanfictions that are more professional, better written than some actual novels" sometimes writing varies in quality and you implying fanfic is better than published works ignores. all of the published stories that are leagues better than fanfics.

I'm such a mature and rational adult that I'm gonna joke about killing a kid's pet because they committed the crime of vaguely annoying in my general direction! That is definitely the response of a mature, rational, level headed person that deserves to be taken seriously!

It is never not amazing how little the average person knows about User Experience Engineering.
If you have a product where HALF of your users DO NOT KNOW THEIR OWN NAMES then you have a PROBLEM that needs to be ADDRESSED.
I'm sorry to the other half who liked the random number generated suffix, but for the rest of us, this is a good thing.
You CANNOT just leave HALF your users wallowing in extreme negative experiences. I'm sorry, but that's FUCKING INSANE.
Now, the decision to limit to the Latin alphabet is unnecessary, I agree. A better solution would be to use Latin through Extended-A, Greek, Cyrillic, Arabic, and at least 2 more Asian and 1 more African unicode block depending on their user base.
But it's also an industry standard that people know how to operate around, unlike (I cannot emphasize this enough) the HALF! OF! ALL! DISCORD! USERS!!!! WHO STILL DO NOT UNDERSTAND DISCRIMINATED NAMING!!!!!!
Please note: I'm not following this story closely, if they've done some other stupid shit, this post is not about that

having hyperspecific community terms that bring people who experienced very specific types of abuse and torture together does not hurt you, I promise. it is not a bad thing and it does not invalidate you.

Ok show of hands in the boopfest did u see anyone saying “thank u staff this a gift” or “only on tumblr” or “this is why I love tumblr” or anything that could seriously be construed as encouraging or excusing or even ignoring staff’s behavior. Did people actually forget about that stuff or do u just think everything is a Diversion by a Nefarious Organization

I’m gonna lose my shit I’m having a BAD day and I’m gonna lose my shit. So I’m going to complain about it in an extremely abstracted way. I’ve said this before but people will just assume all these implications, they’ll assume ∀x(P(x)→Q(x)) for fucking random ass P and Q that have barely anything to do with each other. Last time I said this people were like "oh come on nobody does that" but they DO, they TOTALLY DO. Like sure, maybe if you explicitly gave them P and Q and asked "is there a universal implication here", they'd say "no, there are exceptions, blah blah blah", but in actual practice they reason based on ∀x(P(x)→Q(x)). If you want them to not do that you have to laboriously explain to them that counterexamples might exist. For all kinds of fucking random ass, just like the most loosely related P and Q you've ever seen it's ridiculous. The general public seems to have received at some point the idea that if P and Q are two predicates that can be related in some way by free association dream logic, then either ∀x(P(x)→Q(x)) or ∀x(Q(x)→P(x)) must hold. I am losing my fucking SHIT.
Sorry I've just had a bad day so far. But like this really is a thing and it sucks ass and it's all over the place if you look for it.

Karl leaks aren't real and if they were they'd be funny as fuck like girl I know you'd do numbers on privtwt
I saw someone yesterday talking about how she thinks they’re real - this person continues to assume she has AMAZING critical thinking skills despite the fact she got driven off Twitter for being friends with *those* people and spends all her time on here making her personality asks and being semi-cr.i.t.bl.r - so like. Lol lmao even. Maybe it’s time to rethink our critical thinking abilities if we still think that a bunch of messy screenshots that were originally posted in black and white and in sketchy circumstances for no reason are real.
Just say you have an existing bias against him and are therefore more willing to believe shaky evidence that proves he’s evil.
Frankly if they even WERE real then a bigger concern would be unprofessional actions with his mod team not “Karl hates dteam!!!”

Seeing someone we used to be mutuals with all over a certain tag and just... how do you not fucking tire of constantly arguing with children? How is getting into discourse and drama literally 24/7 even enjoyable for you?
Just following them got exhausting towards the end and I'm honestly not sure how they can be so popular. People really do love drama and "fighting the good fight" (aka getting into shouting matches with people half your age who won't listen anyway) huh?
