Sabo's life has been one of ups and downs. Things haven't always gone his way, but he often comes out on top in the end.

XI Strength - Tony Tony Chopper

Tony Tony Chopper is an analyst at heart, juggling the power of the beast with the gentle, dextrous hand of the human surgeon. By joining two natures, he can be more than either of them.

XII The Hanged Man - Trafalgar Law

Shackled and bound, a life subject to powerful whims. Unfortunately, the chains that bind Law only make him stronger and more convicted.

XIII Death - The Going Merry

The trusty old workhorse of the Straw Hat Pirates, the day they met Merry was the day they became a real pirate crew. The day they lost the Merry was the day they realised what it means to sail the world. And the day the Merry came back to save them was the day they realised the power of a friend's loyalty.

XIV Temperance - Brook

Brook's had a lot of time to mull over who he is and what he wants. Polite, efficient, and genial, he won't deny himself his wants, but he doesn't need force to take it.

XV The Devil - Nico Robin

A lifetime of being told 'no' can wear on you. Nico Robin's spent a long time telling herself her wants and needs don't matter. Now she's over that - she will live for the sake of living and answer to nobody who says otherwise.

XVI The Tower - Ace

Pride comes before a fall, and Ace fell hard. Once seemingly-indestructible, captured, humbled and shamed, it was only his world crumbled around him that Ace realised the truth - that he was loved, but also that he is not invincible, and powerful forces will destroy him to hurt those he cares about.

XVII The Star - Yamato

The bright and shining star of Wano Country, living his own truth in the face of all adversity. Yamato is hope, defiant in the face of the nay-sayers.

XVIII The Moon - Nami

Two-faced and secretive, but wise and level-headed. The Moon favours the Witch's magic, and once Nami learns to trust in her friends, she only gets stronger for it.

XIX The Sun - Vinsmoke Sanji

The Sun is a creator, an artist held down only but his own self-esteem. Sanji flourishes when all is well, but deep down he fears what he is and what he could become.

XX Judgment - Shanks

The call to adventure, and the final obstacle. Like a ghost Shanks has haunted the actions of the Straw Hats, and sooner or later, he is the one they will have to confront.

XXI The World - Joy Boy

A true apotheosis, ascended to godly form. No longer a man, but an avatar of a spiritual ideal.

Another rant that isn't about TV Tropes

Having recently replayed Cliff Johnson's The Fool and His Money, I've come to realize how people feel about what Linda Woolverton did in Maleficent, except that it was somehow either better or worse, since Cliff did it to his own character - the High Priestess. She may not have been an example of Unspeakable Trope #9, but she was introduced in The Fool's Errand as a genuinely sinister and menacing villainess with just a dash of hamminess, cursing the land and sealing away the Fourteen Treasures for $#!+s and giggles, to the point where it was satisfying to see the Fool tricking her into defeating herself. Then, along comes TFaHM, and it reveals that she wasn't evil, just corrupted by an outside force into doing what she did. It's almost as if Cliff wanted to show off how much he'd learned about tarot motifs since his previous game. I'd say Egyptian mythology, too, except that he made Thoth female for no apparent reason other than Thoth being a lunar deity, never mind that I can name three other male lunar deities off the top of my head - Mani (Norse), Chandra (Hindu), and Tsukuyomi (Shinto), and there are probably many more out there. Don't get me wrong, TFaHM is a great game, if fiendishly difficult without a guide and often fiendishly tedious with one, but these two things just bugged me enough that I just had to rant about them. :P

How to determine your personal tarot card

I'll be using my own birthday for the sample. That being said, first take your birthday and convert it to numbers.

My birthday is July 29, 1985, which would be 7/29/1985.

Then add up each number like this.

7=7

2+9=11, 1+1=2

1+9+8+5=23, 2+3=5

Finally, add up the three numbers from the above calculations.

7+2+5=14

The 14th Major Arcana is Temperance, so that's my personal tarot card. Try this out and let me know what you get in the tags!

Please permit me to further brag about Lee Bradford's @thesweeneytarot. I have had that copy of the deck for ten years and it has been a faithful addition to my collection. The imagery is very much "every day" and "every person" and while it was not meant for esoteric matters, when something esoteric needs to be known, it will make itself known!

I do recommend going through The Sweeney Tarot tumblr (linked above) and reading through Lee's description of their cards and the characters that are presented there. There is also an surprise in plain sight but it won't take a sonic screwdriver to uncover it.

The cards are published through The GameCrafter [1], which is where I obtained my deck. Physically, the cards have held up very well to my rough hands and rougher handling. However, Lee has created a 10th Anniversary Edition [2] which has visual and physical improvements to the original deck but at a higher cost. Both deck editions are available.

AND THEN, if you want to step a little to the side, Lee also created an oracle deck, @the-motif-deck, which has just enough of a guidebook to give you a place to start, but the meanings of the cards come from the reader and not from a pre-generated list. I have this deck as well from The GameCrafter [3] and followers will start to see it more often.

oh my god i forgot to post Booker lore warning this is. the mary sue ever fuck you

okay so their name is Booker de la Oitte, or at least thats their current name. at current they work at both the prosecutors offices and the WAA as a bookkeeper/payroll, just getting shit organized financially. theyre at least Trying to be friends with blackquill, but theyre a little too awkward to do much besides talk to taka. they mostly get along with the rest of the cast but also they refer to most people as “Miss/Mister/Sir X” which would probably throw people off

now their whole Situation

theres this big business family called the deBooks, just the absolute worst, the main family consisting of Cookie deBooks, Burnie deBooks, and Hades deBooks. theyre like the von Karmas of the business world. Hades got an accounting and law degree to act as defense for the family. and then they fucking. disappeared after an Incident in court. you can see where this is going

so at some point theres this big arc where booker is framed for killing burnie and cookie steps in to prosecute them and then its revealed that booker IS hades and its a whole mess that i have spent. way too much time daydreaming the exact details of

also as a side thing thats even more mart sueish they have also met the phantom (i think post dd but i dont understand? timelines???) and its a whole thing
