Real-world applications of scheduling algorithms in Python
Scheduling algorithms in Python have a wide range of real-world applications, including:
1. Real-time systems: Scheduling algorithms are used to ensure that real-time tasks are executed within their specified timing constraints, preventing potential system failures or losses. They also allocate system resources effectively, ensuring efficient utilization of processor time, memory, and other resources.
2. Staff scheduling: Scheduling algorithms are used to schedule staff members for different time windows and tasks in various settings, such as coffee shops or hospitals. They aim to minimize the number of workers per shift while ensuring that there are enough workers for each time window.
3. Resource allocation: Scheduling algorithms are used to optimize resource allocation strategies, whether it’s for scheduling appointments, managing resources, or any other similar real-life application. By utilizing these algorithms, users can save time and resources and improve their overall efficiency.
4. Surgery scheduling: Scheduling algorithms are used to optimize surgery scheduling in hospitals, ensuring that surgeries are scheduled efficiently and effectively. Linear programming is one such algorithm that can be used to formulate models in Python for surgery scheduling.
5. Manufacturing: Scheduling algorithms are used to allocate jobs on a manufacturing line, ensuring that resources are utilized efficiently and effectively.
These are just a few examples of the many real-world applications of scheduling algorithms in Python. By leveraging the power of these algorithms, organizations can improve their efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize their resource allocation strategies.
Scheduling algorithms play a crucial role in various real-world applications where tasks need to be organized efficiently. In Python, scheduling algorithms are commonly used in job scheduling, task assignment, resource allocation, and optimization problems. Here are two snippets of Python code combined with AI to demonstrate a practical example of scheduling algorithms:
Task Scheduling using Genetic Algorithm in Python
```python
import random
# Define tasks and their durations
tasks = {'Task1': 4, 'Task2': 3, 'Task3': 2, 'Task4': 5}
# Genetic Algorithm for Task Scheduling
def fitness_function(sequence):
total_time = 0
for task in sequence:
total_time += tasks[task]
return total_time
def generate_random_schedule():
return random.sample(tasks.keys(), len(tasks))
def genetic_algorithm(num_generations):
best_schedule = generate_random_schedule()
best_fitness = fitness_function(best_schedule)
for _ in range(num_generations):
new_schedule = generate_random_schedule()
new_fitness = fitness_function(new_schedule)
if new_fitness < best_fitness:
best_schedule = new_schedule
best_fitness = new_fitness
return best_schedule
# Run Genetic Algorithm for Task Scheduling
best_schedule = genetic_algorithm(100)
print("Best Schedule:", best_schedule)
```
Job Scheduling using Reinforcement Learning in Python
```python
import numpy as np
# Define job processing times
jobs = np.array([3, 5, 2, 7, 4])
# Reinforcement Learning for Job Scheduling
def get_action(state, q_table, epsilon):
if np.random.uniform(0, 1) < epsilon:
return np.random.choice(len(jobs))
else:
return np.argmax(q_table[state])
def update_q_table(q_table, state, action, reward, next_state, alpha, gamma):
q_table[state, action] += alpha * (reward + gamma * np.max(q_table[next_state]) - q_table[state, action])
# Initialize Q-table
q_table = np.zeros((len(jobs), len(jobs))
state = 0
epsilon = 0.1
alpha = 0.1
gamma = 0.9
# Reinforcement Learning Loop
for _ in range(1000):
action = get_action(state, q_table, epsilon)
next_state = action
reward = -jobs[action]
update_q_table(q_table, state, action, reward, next_state, alpha, gamma)
state = next_state
# Get the optimal job sequence
optimal_sequence = np.argsort(-q_table[state])
print("Optimal Job Sequence:", optimal_sequence)
```
These examples showcase how scheduling algorithms can be implemented in Python using AI techniques like genetic algorithms and reinforcement learning to optimize task scheduling and job sequencing in real-world scenarios.

Alphabet Street
For this task we were told to take pictures of alphabets around the place we live in, it can be any letter, on the ground, logo, posters, and For this task I went around my closest town and walked around, I also went to the main city entre and walked around there and also used some letters from the BCU building itself and made a collage of them:
Over all this task was my favourite because it allowed to to walk around freely and look at stuff that I would normally just ignore and walk past and it showed how other designer use the terminology and use it in the real world in logos, posters, streets, building, which was a really good experience for me.

MOM'S FULL NAME: Vivian Lopez
MOM'S MAIDEN NAME (IF APPLICABLE): Vivian Hernandez
WHAT YOU CALL(ED) HER: Amami, Madrecita, Mamá, Má, Amá, La Ley, La mera mera, or Jefa.
HER AGE: 55 Years Old
HER JOB: Part-Time Freelance Accountant, Full-time mother.
FOUR ADJECTIVES THAT DESCRIBE HER: Hardworking, Passive, Giving, and Tolerant.
TALLER OR SHORTER THAN YOU?: Taller, only by a little bit though.
HOW SHE MET YOUR DAD/FATHER FIGURE: She used to be an accountant for him when he opened his own therapy office.
WHAT YOUR RELATIONSHIP IS/WAS LIKE: Mi Madrecita and I have a complicated relationship, especially after my sister died. She was always caught in between my father and my tension. She would try to stick up for me to some degree, but ultimately she would try to get me to respect my father. I stuck my neck out for her a lot, especially when I felt like my father was mistreating her. Mostly because I know he cheats on her. I never told her, but because I feel bad about not doing so, I do what I can to defend her. When Marisol died, it killed me to see how heartbroken my mother was. I blamed myself for her pain, which encouraged me to get out of Beverly Hills. My má tries to stay in touch with me, but because of my guilt, I keep her distant.
HER FAVORITE FOOD: Espagueti Verde
HER FAVORITE DRINK: Wine. It’s no surprise I got her love of wine from her.
THE BEST THING SHE COOKS/COOKED: Pozole 🤤I could eat it all day and every day.
SOMETHING SHE LOVES/LOVED: Her children. Her children have always been her number one focus in life. Other than that, she is an avid reader.
HER FAVORITE PLACE: My mother’s family is originally from Mexico, but my father took her to Spain for their honeymoon. She constantly talks about Sant Pere de Ribes, Barcelona, where they stayed in a villa with him for months before they moved back to California. She has been wanting to go back with my father.
HER FAVORITE COLOR: I don’t know what her favorite color would be. It would probably be purple. She likes mostly darker colors.
HOW SHE DRESSES/DRESSED: Being a classy lady from Beverly Hills, she dresses usually in the top designer labels. She prides herself on looking presentable and tasteful. However, she is on the thicker side, so her clothing is flattering but loose. She sticks to very professional colors. Whites, blacks, neutral. Nothing too bold.
HER HABITS OR HOBBIES: She has a habit of getting tense or super caught up in her telenovela. As I already said, she is also an avid reader, she loves to dance, and she is passionate about music.
A MOVIE, SHOW, OR BOOK SHE LIKES/LIKED: West Side Story was always her favorite movie/musical. It was something that she brought up around my siblings and me as children. Especially around Marisol and me. She always asked Marisol to sing the “Maria” parts, while I got “Anita.” She knew her daughters well.
SOMETHING SHE TAUGHT YOU: She taught me something that I still have trouble learning: tolerance and patience. I tend to react more than I think about something. I see something, and I jump to respond. I always thought my mother was passive, and she is, but I think that’s also a sign of her patience and ability to tolerate even things that I can’t stand. She also encourages me to let go, but sometimes it isn’t always that easy. As I said, I am still learning to do so.
SOMETHING SHE IS/WAS GOOD AT: She has an excellent way of making others feel better over herself. Mi Madrecita always puts others above her. It’s sometimes why I call her Madrecita, which means little mom - she makes herself smaller for the sake of others.
SOMETHING SHE ALWAYS SAYS/SAID: My mother always said: No se puede comprar la felicidad, pero sí se puede comprar pastelitos. This means you can’t buy happiness, but you sure can buy a cake. It was her way of saying money isn’t everything, even though it is.
SOMETHING YOU DO/DID TOGETHER: We don’t do much together anymore because I live so far away, but my mother used to take my sister and me shopping all the time. It was our girls' day. That stopped once my sister passed away. Things were never the same after we lost Marisol.
SOMETHING SHE LOVES/LOVED ABOUT YOU: My mother said that as much as she can’t stand my stubbornness, she admires it too. I think that she hates that I stick up for her because it creates tension, but I also think she appreciates that someone is on her side. She says she admires how strong I am, and wishes she was as daring as I can be.
SOMETHING YOU LOVE ABOUT HER: I love the way she treats people. You could be her greatest foe, but she will still kill you with her kindness. As I said, she is a tolerant woman. She has way more patience than I ever could.
A MEMORY OF HER THAT YOU HOLD DEAR: The memory of us watching West Side Story together is the one thing that sticks out to me. It was her favorite musical and it was my sister’s. Seeing the way it made the two of them light up helped me to forget everything else.

Another rendering test, this time with more blocks.
I edited the contrast and brightness in Photoshop since I wasn’t satisfied 100% with the outcome of the render.
Reminds me of kinetic sand. I like it.

Reflective: I really enjoyed this assignment but it took me hours to build a bridge. I feel there is easy way for it and I couldn't figure out how to import 3d image from google to Rhino. Also any of objects aren't in actual scale.
when I render the image the line was too thin and didn't show at all ---> solution: pipe tool (make lines thicker)
new way to make a house ---> 1.make box 2.Split planar surface 3.by using gumball, drag the centre line up
Note: Always think about the scale!

Flip-Flap-Flat Pilih untuk membeli minuman kegemaran anda dalam karton, pilihan rendah karbon. Kemudian ikuti panduan infografik tersebut untuk memulakan kitar semula karton minuman terpakai anda hari ini! Rujuk rajah "How can you help?" Kitar semula memberikan karton minuman kehidupan baru, tetapi adakah anda pernah tertanya-tanya bagaimana? @wwfmy @tkcwwfmy #teamkedahcakna #ulumuda #task4 #tetrapak #flipflapflat https://www.instagram.com/p/CVf0mjKBud5/?utm_medium=tumblr

Task 4 | Guild Member: Daybreak
Guild Member Name: ↳ Daybreak
Face Claim: ↳ Oscar Isaac
Age: ↳ 510 (looks 35)
Species: ↳ Human/Unconfirmed Demi-god
Powers & Abilities: ↳ Regenerative Healing & Enhanced Strength
Backstory: ↳ Edgar has gone by many names over the years, but he began as Kasakir, a warrior among the Mayan K'iche' people. He and his sister, Yamanik, were thought to be the reincarnation of the Hero Twins, the boys who conquered the Death Lords and were dubbed the rulers of Earth by the sky gods. However, they were born to a pair of lowly farmers and the two never realized there was something different about themselves until an illness spread through their lands--one that killed everyone around them, except them. Their parents died from this plague, but notoriety built around them with claims that they couldn't die. When Kasakir was stabbed through the gut and lived to tell the tale, the others in their village began to believe it to be true. Words spread about the twins who couldn't die and the current king of the K'iche' kingdom did not like the idea of the supposed Hero Twins taking his throne. But before any of that could happen, the Spanish conquistadors invaded Guatemala. Kasakir volunteered to act as a spy and fought along side his K'iche' commanders. When the Spaniards burned the K'iche' leaders alive, Kasakir tried to find a way for him and his sister to escape, but he lost track of her during the attack.
For years after, he continued to fight to try to find her. He followed his people wherever they were pushed and protected the innocents as best he could, all while vowing vengeance on whoever had taken his sister from him. But no matter where he looked, she wasn’t there. He left his people to find her, using any clues that he could find to pinpoint her whereabouts. He searched for sixty years, but could find no trace of her. It was then that he changed his name for the first time and never told another soul his birth name again.
It didn't take long for him to realize that he would not age anymore and after wasting so much time searching, he tried having a normal life. He settled down and went back to his roots as a farmer, but after he was forced to watch his wife and children die, he vowed to never do so again--a vow he would forget about multiple times in the future. Regardless, he chose to travel instead, knowing that the growing Christian missionaries would see him as a demon if he stayed in one place for too long. He moved along central America, learning new languages and skills as he went, always introducing himself with a different name. He became a better swordsman and an even better shot with a rifle as he boarded a ship for the first time. From piracy to legitimate seafarer, he was able to visit countries such as Portugal, Congo, and India. He stayed in one place just long enough to absorb their culture then moved on. He fought when he had to, but he preferred to keep his head down.
In his 500+ years of life, he has lived through many trying times. He manages to maintain his sanity by giving back to the world and finding those who he believes to be genuine and kind. He takes comfort in knowing that even when the world is twisted, there are always people trying to heal it. However, he is not without his weaknesses and his loneliness is definitely a reoccurring problem for him. Whenever the feelings begin to creep up, he usually tries to start a new family, which always backfires in one way or another. Recently, however, he decided to renew his search for his sister, figuring that the newer technology might be able to help him. Upon arriving in New Haven in 2010, Edgar caught the eyes of the Guild by single-handedly stopping a robbery. While initially opposed of going into the limelight, he figured that if his sister was still out there somewhere, maybe she could come to him. And so he remained, an immortal warrior to the group, enjoying the company of his comrades while he still can. After all, he knows they will die eventually, like they all do
Moral Alignment: ↳ Neutral Good
Signature Move: ↳ Hand to hand combat has always been his preferred way of fighting and he is known for bringing in a wide variety of fighting styles from his centuries of studying. Typically though, he will use a spear-thrower (atlatl) to bring his intended victim down then will fight them with his fists until he wins. From there, his finishing move is always with an obsidian knife that he claims to have had since he was a boy.
Extra Info: ↳ His sigil is of a sunrise emerging from a crescent moon which represents the Hero Twins that he and his sisters were believed to be. ↳ He has several journals that he has kept over the years of his adventures and experiences. While he uses them to keep track of his fading thoughts and memories, he still prefers to tell stories in the oral tradition that he was brought up with. While a few are written in English, most of his journals are written in his native K’iche’ language. ↳ Also just a little fun fact. His original name Kasakir means Daybreak in the K’iche’ language.
#talkvig#taskvig#task4#daybreak#//in which I was able to repurpose the half baked guardian app I had in my google drive lol#also oscar isaac#also also the mythology around the hero twins is amazing#like read it if you have the chance#when you post something and then realize theres so many typos
