it's such a tragic irony that swifties, who rallied so hard for regulations on AI usage - because we all knew and experienced how dangerous it can be in the worst possible way, still continue to use AI to generate songs and alarm sounds and album/song covers using taylor's voice like it doesn't violate her artistry at all. and then defend it by saying this is different because they're doing it with positive intentions. there's literally nothing productive about using AI to generate any kind of content, especially not when that content is a blatant (and disgustingly shallow) impersonation of someone swifties claim to love and respect so much

I never doubted for one second that the reason she doesn’t speak up on all the world’s issues is due to safety. She isn’t perfect, she’s not some great political activist, but she has a heart and she has good intentions. It was baffling to see how easily people attacked her character (fans too, not just her typical haters) because she wasn’t speaking on things they expected or wanted her to. We may not know Taylor personally, but she’s shared so much with us over the years. Some of us grew up with her. The one thing that is clear as day is how genuine she is. Yes, she falls short. But some of these expectations placed on her are just simply unrealistic. And also, given the current state of the world, dangerous. I’m sure she will have plenty to say once the tour wraps.

i keep coming back to 'i was a functioning alcoholic til nobody noticed my new aesthetic' because i do distinctly remember conversations about how taylor seemed to be drinking a lot more and getting drunk at like every awards show she went to. and those conversations were coming from a place of concern and of hoping that she was alright and that this wasn't a problem.

so to then say 'ugh i can't believe no one noticed this problem i had' when i know that people definitely did, and on the same album say that fans who are genuinely concerned about a new relationship that you are in are just 'bitching and moaning'? what do you want from them? you're talking about so many people who do at least believe that they are coming from a place of care and concern, and you are totally dismissing them on both ends of a scale!

not to mention that her implying that since nobody (???) was noticing her ~aesthetic~ drinking problem she just stopped having it is a bit of a kick in the teeth to people who do have drinking problems and can't just stop having them, since that's not how it fucking works.

THOUGHTS ON THE NEW TS ALBUM

listen, i had no issues with this woman for a long time. i even liked her, defended her when she released that one video with dylan o'brien. but right now my respect for her is at level 0. mainly cause she let her fans hate on joe alwyn for an entire year, even encouraged this hatred by giving "easter eggs" when his only crime was being depressed??? and not proposing to her???? yeah. she threw him to the wolves just for publicity with no regard to his mental health (which was already bad even according to her) and that's such an asshole move. especially considering he was there when no one else was. also, she made an entire song complaining that her fans were too rude to the racist dude she dated and who dumped her after a few weeks?? but had nothing to say about the literal witch hunt that joe (the dude she dated for 6 years and apparently was desperate to marry) has been going through??? yeah. she needs therapy.
