Imagine Fantasy Bakugou meeting fallen Angel reader(as in you were captured and your wings were cut off by horrible people) by finding your abandoned body bleeding out.
So he carries your body to his camp to fix you up. At first he allows the Bakusquad to help you recover but he catches Denki eating in the medical tent with your bandaged up back right there so he kicks all of them out.
Everyday he comes in 5 times a day, once in the morning and right before bed to change your bandages and put on some cream, the other three just to make sure your doing fine.
Once you do finally wake up, it takes you a while to relearn how to walk without your wings. Bakugou and the bakusquad are amazed about how quickly it takes you to learn their language(as it’s actually a plus of being an angel).
The group sleep in two tents, the boys and girls tent.
If you are feminine presenting, then Bakugou soon becomes anxious not being able to fix you like he use to. If you are masculine presenting then he will have mornings where he wakes up cuddling yoh and quickly pulls away.
Either way, he has fallen for you hard and didn’t even realise it.
He offers you to travel with them back to the Barbarian stronghold(main camp/base) and promises that they will protect you.
Depending on your interpretation of (non-Christian)Angels, your wings may or may not grow back. If believe they will, then Bakugou will ask you oh so very nicely for you to stay with him, even after your wings grow back. If you think they won’t grow back, then he asks I’m not as nice of a way but still wants you to stay with him.
He loves waking up in the middle of the night and seeing you lay beside him, looking so wonderful and dreamy. Kisses your forehead most of the time.
Is very aware that you don’t have as much of body muscle as normal humans do, so he tends to just carry things for you. He grumbled about it, but never complains.
Loves it when you slip your hand into his. His heart beats so fast but will never admit it.
Will ask permission to braid your hair in a barbarian style, but if you want it to be only be your angel culture braids, will learn how to do it just for you.
If(more like when) he finds the people who cut off your wings, he put them into a torture area in the barbarian camp and will dine in front of them as they scream in pain.
He takes you to them as says it’s a gift to you from you as he kisses your neck and shoulders. He will only let them go if you forgive them. But if you are still recovering or your wings don’t grow back, I have a feeling you won’t be forgiving them for a long time.
He calls you his dove, but never caged dove. Though he wants you all to himself, he would never deny you the chance to fly away if that’s what you wanted.

do you have tips on making levi x reader fics?
i've got a few! most of these go for any x reader fics in general, but some are still levi focused. and i'm sorry for the long wait, i wanted to give this a proper response. here's some tips under the cut. note that these are what i think, you may not agree with all of them, and you don't have to! work with whatever parts you want.
be self indulgent. i cannot emphasize this enough. write about stuff that makes you excited, something you might want to experience, or would like to see on screen, or just anything that actually makes you happy. there's usually always a few people who will agree with you. don't go based off a popular headcanon if you don't personally like it. be as self indulgent as you want.
don't be afraid to make reader too badass or too damsel-y. i've seen people complain about both, either that the reader is lame because they always need to be saved, or too op because they're just as good as levi. neither of those things are valid, in my opinion. both scenarios can work in the right scenarios. sometimes it makes sense for the reader to be a certain way! if they're a skilled titan killer, they're a skilled titan killer. if they could earn the title of "humanity's weakest soldier" then so be it. get my drift? do what feels right for the story. try to be realistic, because really, any skill level can work if you present the situation right.
on that note, about levi specifically—you absolutely don't need to stress about making him ooc. of course, that's easier said than done, there's definitely times i'm writing and i go....would he really do this? but remember that not only is levi a complex character, he's an extremely popular character and that means there are several different versions of him. people headcanon him in a million different ways, i have read different stories in which he acts completely different and both feel in character. if you ever feel like you're losing grip of the character, rewatch some of your favorite moments, it'll help get you back in the groove.
playlists playlists playlists. my superior playlist is about seven hours long now because the best way for me to plot and write a bunch is to get in the mood, make amvs in my own head, even dance it out a bit. i know it's not for everyone, but i've found putting together songs that are meaningful to your story is immensely helpful.
if you're doing a full series, i'd try to write some kind of outline. in fact, even a oneshot may require one if it's particularly long.
again, you don't have to cater to anyone's headcanon or opinion. not just in terms of levi and the reader, but also the story itself. just because smut is popular, a story doesn't need to have smut if you don't want it to. similarly, not everything has to be an epic romance. don't go by what would be popular, go by what makes you want to write.
try to explore genres besides romance! a levi x reader doesn't have to focus on the romance between them (although I'd imagine it should still be a good portion of it). tbh i'd read something with an established relationship that is about something else entirely and just features those two as central characters.
to make reader an interesting character, try to imagine them as an oc without a face. don't shy away from a personality so that you can make them a relatable blank slate. i'm not particularly a fan of readers that have a name bc it's harder for me to self insert that way, but if that helps you develop the character more, then go for it.
get into the heads of your characters. imagine various scenarios. you don't have to write all of them, or any of them! but think of random things. how would they buy a cone of ice cream? what's their go to study method? were they scared of bugs as a kid? get to know them.
i hope this helps! if anyone wants me to expand or has a question about anything else, feel free to shoot me an ask.

Hello! Sometimes I see you post stuff from IF blogs and I've recently started playing some IF games, which I've enjoyed so far. Do you have any IF stories you'd recommend in particular? I'm not attached to any particular genre and I don't need romance or a self-insert main character, (though I'm not opposed to either). Though, it's a definite plus if it's LGBTQ+ inclusive! I'm not really sure what the "cornerstones" are of IF so I'll take any and all recommendations haha
Oh god, I play so many IFs. So many. And it’s not even close to all of them, but I’m trying!!
Tbh IFs without romance seems to be very rare, I think because when I think IF I think Choice of Games, and those pretty much always have romance in them. At least, the most well known ones do. But a well done one without romance would be nice too!
Okay, this is a list of my favourites! They’re all LGBT+ inclusive, and most have gender selectable love interests, or at least ones that change gender depending on the gender and sexuality combination you pick. In no particular order, of course.  Behind a cut because I’m gonna give them each a mini review. Because I haven’t done that yet.
(There are so many.)
Mind Blind: I absolutely love our big brother Nick, I love how witty and sharp so much of the dialogue is, I love how the MC clearly has a rather large handicap, but is still such an important person to so many people and not looked down on in the slightest. And when they are, we all know it’s because that person is a jerk! They’re not defined by what they aren’t, but what they are, and that’s a great message.
Shepherds of Haven: Part of why I love this one so much is I just love fantasy settings and this one just pulls it off so well. The cast is full of amazing characters, and I gotta say I die inside pretty regularly for not being able to afford the patreon content, lol. The author puts so much amazing stuff on there, and gives us so much great content in the game and through answers on tumblr, and you can tell this whole thing is just the best thing ever to them, and that makes it the best ever for us readers too!
The Wayhaven Chronicles: I’d be shot if I didn’t mention this one, the series that literally killed dashingdon when the book 3 demo dropped!! Again, another author that cares a lot and does their best to do right by their fans. We’ve been given drip after drip of these amazing characters backstories, and I just cannot wait for more! It’s definitely very romance centered, but the overall plotlines are also very good, and I have to say that no matter who I romance, I just feel like the group as a whole is a family. And that’s wonderful.
Speaker: I really like the lore. I really like the lore. I can’t wait until we get more of the overall plotline. Mostly I want my Speaker to get in deep trouble so Seb, Li and Seer (best sister ever) go off and beat the shit out of whatever is causing it. This probably says something about me, but what can I say, I thrive on angst and inflicting near death injuries on my OCs. Sometimes I even kill them, although all of this is offtopic. Or is it? I guess we’ll find out, although I doubt we’ll actually be able to kill off Speaker. And yes, I am definitely playing the Seb & Li poly route. I love them both so much.
Wilhelmina: I love vampires, ok? Ok? And this one is based off Dracula!! The OG!! And you can choose Drac’s gender!! Shit, sign me up forever!! Yeah, she might be literally killing my bff, torturing my fiancé and low key fucking with my mind, but vampires are hot!! Let me live! Or not. But yeah, this is a really well done retelling of the Dracula novel and I like how well it works as an IF. Did I mention I like vampires?? Especially when they get all monstery?? (This one has an MC with a set gender, as it’s based on an already existing literary figure. Mina can have a same sex relationship with dracula, if you make drac a female, or with Lucy, a female love interest.)
More Things in Heaven and Earth: Hi Nell!! First off, I gotta uncover a deep shame of mine. My family literally has a Shakespeare heirloom collection. As in, my greatgrandfather passed down through the family a collection of Shakespeare that was published in 1911. In ye olde englishe. I tried to read it when I was like 10 and was like what language is this?? What the fuck? What the fuck??? And ended up reading As You Like It, a bit of Romeo and Juliet, and a little of Hamlet. Didn’t touch the rest of it. I only got into the other stories through trashy ya reimaginings. That said, this retelling of Hamlet inspired me to go read the whole of the original and now I have a lot of fears for these characters that I’m so much more attached to, oh god I hope my Ophelia has a happy ending. I hope Hamlet himself has a happy ending. The dialogue is so well done, everyone is engaging, and yeah it made me finish an old af book when nothing else did. (This one also has an MC with a set gender, female, for the same reason. However, there are two gender variable love interests, so you can very much play a bi or gay Ophelia if you so choose.)
Guenevere: I love King Arthur. All the myths. I have so many books based on the King Arthur mythos, oh dear god. I love pretty much every version of it. All the movie and tv shows too! I just can’t get enough of those knights. I could go on for paragraphs about how courtly love worked and how all the different social castes were, but I’ll try not to. This series lets you customize Guen as a character to an amazing degree, considering that she’s also based on an actual literary figure like the other two I mentioned above. It really feels like she becomes your own character, and yet she still exists within this world very very well. I worry quite a bit that the author might have bit off more than they can chew with the current book they’re working on, what I’ve seen of it looks absolutely massive in scale. What is out so far is a wonderful read though, full of drama and laughter and lots of chances to make the story your own.
Bastard of Camelot: Yep! Another King Arthur series! Sue me! This one lets you set Mordred’s gender though, so it’s more inclusive in that way. It is very interesting to play as one of the “bad guys” of the King Arthur mythos. You can play them as straight up evil, as good, or you know, a bit of column a and a bit of column b. Or they can just be a rude little shit. It’s got dragons too! You get a dragon pet! Dragons are cool. It can be a bit tough to play sometimes, since a lot of people dislike Mordred quite a lot because of prejudices. Hopefully this will change a bit later in the series if you’ve been a fairly good person up to that point. Gotta say though, as a warning, that Mordred is a product of incest. It’s not glossed over, and it does cause a lot of problems for them in the story.
God of the Red Mountain: I just love that this inspired me to read more chinese mythology tbh. There is just so much here! And it’s just such a good read. I wish I was better at describing things. The MC being a spirit that you can define, the whole setting, most of the love interests also being spirits, the massive amount of history and culture and lore, how it all fits together. It is such a well done story. I really wish it got more attention than it does. I still miss Big Sister. I still can’t wait to find out more about the foxes, and how we can heal our MC.
The Nameless: Another one that lets you play as something otherworldly. I love the lore behind this one, and I love all of the cast I’ve met. I kind of like that our MC isn’t loved right off the bat, that we’ll have to win over all of our love interests and even the other npcs. I’m up for the challenge! Everything I’ve read on the tumblr for these characters just makes me love them all more tbh. I love how much they’ve written for all of them! Most of all though, I love Oisein. All the art of them is just *chef kiss* and their personality is magical.
A Mage Reborn: This is a really recent one but!! Wow, it’s really well done! That cliffhanger!! Oof!! Not many books literally start with killing your MC off! That takes guts! I told the author this already, but I love the way they formatted this, the way it starts with the end, so to speak, and then fills it all out. It just made everything feel so poignant, how MC is literally looking back at all these moments in time in the last minutes they have before they die. Shit. That’s powerful. And there’s gonna be more??? Can’t wait for that angst. Give me that drama. Of course I picked the one who had me killed, that’s just how I am!
These are all just the COG type games, there are a few twine games with graphics I’d throw on here, but the list is long enough as it is and they feel like they’re in a different category to me. Maybe it’s just me?

considering y'all are providing us with your writing, providing us with entertainment, for free? I say do whatever the fk you want with it, you want to insert yourself into the story? do it. you want to model a character off a friend? do it.
I think we take every author's work for granted, we're literally getting these amazing stories for f r e e and people have the gall to pressure you for updates, or to put limits on your creative freedom bc they think it's cringe
lol I didn't meant to get so heated but it's something that always gets me
all of the oc friends for reader in bittersweet were based off my friends too!!! tbh its so much fun doing self/friend insert shit and like its literally fucking harmless idk why people consider it cringe

Okay but honestly both stories sound so good so im gonna be really unhelpful and say lmao work on both ☆⌒(ゝ。∂) but euuu can we really ramble to you about our own probably forever unfinished stories? Cause for Ouran Ive got like four, that I actually once had the courage to write for.
1) was the most self indulgent reader insert cataring to me and only me and tbh im still debating if i should just sightly rewrite it to be an oc u_u but its basically just my attempt at writing a slowburn where the girl is someone from the twins' class but she never payed attention to like anyone until one interaction with Kaoru makes her curious and try to befriend them, which of course doesnt go smoothly
2) was euuuu another selfindulgent fic but this time just, more comedic since its based on how a close friend reacted when he saw ohshc for the first time
3) was one based on a dream? But tbh theyre all lowkey based on dreams, but yeah and the mc wakes up in an eerie looking hostclub and meets the twins who are acting slightly off and its basically just running from monsters and realizing that the dream is too real to be a dream idk but its supposses to be suspenseful but its super hard for me to write
4)damn all my fics are super selfindulgent im living the life tbh but yeah this one is euuu basically they want Hikaru to relax but with miscommunication, their little shack is boublebooked, so in a wonderful moment of badthinking the person that was already there is like damn ill go to school in his place to take notes and its okay until they arrive at the host club and even though that person looks nothing like hikaru, tamaki still freaks out and thinks that is legitly hikaru... So mc and kaoru just go with the flow and try to see if anyone will correct tamaki before hikaru comes back in two weeks (which spoiler noone does)
I may work on both! Story B has already been re written once but I rely liked the authenticity of it and how nostalgic it made me feel, because it wasn't an aged up AU. I think work/life was the only thing that got off my way.
The relationship in Story A started to feel kind of toxic. Like a enemies to lovers gone wrong. And it didn't fit for Hikaru and Haruhi. I actually really would like to redo it and give it the feel I had originally intended for it. Bc the idea in my head is wholesome.
Ah! But all of your stories sound so interesting! Especially Story 3 ! I love unique storylines and I've never heard of one like that.
Gotta love abandoned fics ! They hold special places in our hearts. 😭💔

ASKITY TIME EH? k. 3, 12, 15, 29, aaaand 48.
AYYYYYYY HEWWO!!!! ☜(゚ヮ゚☜) Thank you so much for giving me these goodies!!!!!!! 💖💖
3) Do you prefer writing OC’s or reader inserts? Explain your answer.
When I first began writing at a consistent pace (so around the time I put my greasy, sweaty paws on AO3 and dumped some DMC fic there), I was pretty into writing reader inserts exclusively. The Reader character for Medley, and also by extension Too Little, Too Late were... blank slates for the sole purpose for people to project and self insert onto. They have some base defined traits, but beyond that, they’re pretty much for readers to have their fun with.
Pact!Reader also started out this way, but because of continuity, and the appearance of an actual character arc for Reader (and Vergil, but that’s less important right now), I started fleshing out more of her personality and backstory, and.... now I kind of have a whole ass OC. This is who Liviere is. 😌✨✨
And of course Punchy is my shameless and very self indulgent self insert OC, but that’s neither here nor there.
Basically, I think I started off preferring the latter, but have sort of evolved into writing the former? Which unfortunately feels a bit cheap - ideally I’d like to remain writing blank slate characters with little to no defined traits, but I think having some sort of foundation to build up and also work off of helps with consistency of character. It matters less for one shots of course, but for Pact... I hope you guys can understand how and why Reader became one of my OCs? 😭😭🙏
12) Who is your favourite character to write for? Why?
Easily Vergil. Don’t get me wrong, I love writing everybody else in the cast too, but Vergil is my Best Boi. He is SO much more nuanced than just Stoic and Angery, and in the same way that I get frustrated at people who simply define Dante as Goofy and Memey and leave it at that, I get a bit miffed when people shrug off Vergil’s character. As of DMC5, he is by far the most well rounded and fleshed out character in the series, and although a lot of that can and IS attributed to V, I’m looking forward to seeing what Capcom does with him from here!!!
15) If you write OC’s, how do you decide on their names?
Honestly, it’s a bit of a mixed bag and varies depending on the OC lkasfdh. It can be for any reason tbh, ranging from their origin all the way down to name meanings, or even “I just thought it sounded cool” LOL. Sometimes it’s deep, other times, it really really isn’t that deep m8 🤣🤣😭
29) Do you have a story that you feel doesn’t get as much love as you’d like?
If anything, I’d still say it’s my stupid ass Bloodborne OC/OC ficlet, but to tell you the absolute truth? I can’t complain that my work doesn’t get enough love because I look at my stats on AO3, and I break out in nervous sweating. It still baffles the heck out of me, that I’ve somehow managed to accomplish ANY of the things I have, I won’t lie lksdfhl.
You’re all incredible for putting up with me.
48) What’s your favourite trope to write?
Mutual Pining, Fluff, Enemies To Lovers, Friends To Lovers (for these two, it’s the slow development of it I like, so that being said...), Slow Burn... Oh the question only asked for one..... 😶 That’s my b HAHAHAHA but I couldn’t possibly pick only one.

A Defense of Mary Sue OCs
This is a direct response to the post I just reblogged about the creator of a Mary Sue test denouncing the test. I was going to post this as a reblog, but then it got hideously long on me so I decided to post it separately. Here is the link to the Mary Sue Litmus test in question if you’d like to look at it (prepare to be horrified: it’s sickening).
Firstly, I did not know this test existed until I saw it tonight, however I did see the kind of damage this kind of thinking did to the fanfiction community on fanfiction.net in real time.
For some background, I discovered online fanfic through FFN and Wattpad around July 2013 (I know this because one of the first fics I remember reading was the fic “No Hiding, No Safe Covers” which was published then). I was active on FFN in some form basically from then until I made my AO3 account in July 2018. My FFN account still exists, though I haven’t done anything there since December 2019 according to the last thing in my Favorite Stories.
I was in the Star Wars fandom during my FFN heyday (this should actually not be surprising: I have never loved anything else the way I loved Star Wars). This was when the Clone Wars was airing so the fandom was massive, there were so many new fics everyday. There was always something new to read.
Only it wasn’t all good. We had a lot of people who would go around leaving hate comments (we called these messages flames). I remember there was this one person who started deleting the hate comments on their work. When the flamers figured out about this they dog-piled on this person screaming about how they were deleting comments to make it seem like people liked their work more than they actually did. I’m pretty sure this person eventually left the site.
But what does this have to do with Mary Sues, Emjen? Let me tell you. As I recall, this person was writing Self Insert fanfic. In fact, most if not all of the people who ran afoul of the flamers were. At the time FFN (or at the the Star Wars fandom) had a huge anti-Mary Sue culture. People hated Self Insert fanfic because all the characters were Mary Sues.
What they missed was the fact that most of the people writing these fanfic were, you guessed it, middle school kids. These kids had just discovered fanfic and they were just learning to write. They loved the Clone Wars and they just wanted to be part of it. They made characters who were like themselves only better; the sort of people they wished they were. There’s nothing wrong with that. There’s nothing wrong with getting yourself through the crap that is middle school by imaging that you’re amazing and powerful and and get to save the day. There’s nothing wrong with exploring how to write with characters people might not be interested in reading. Kids shouldn’t be attacked for that.
Also, I firmly believe that the “cringey” Self Insert OC phase is one all fanfic writers go through. I know I did. Hell, my username is the name of one of my Self Inserts. I’ve just sort of detached it from the character and began to use it for myself over the years because I like the sound of it, but that doesn’t change where it came from. The difference is that I didn’t start posting fanfic on the internet until I was sixteen and by that point I was well past that stage and into more “respectable” types of fanfic. My Self Insert stuff--like the series my friend and I wrote when I was in middle school featuring my older Self Insert Reba-Kah who was one of Anakin Skywalker’s best friends (**insert ironic aroace chortling here**)--will forever remain buried in the notebooks we wrote them in. So will the detailed character guides I wrote with some canon characters and all my OCs (I had OCs for basically everyone I knew including detailed backstories for each one). Maybe it was cringey, maybe it was poorly written, maybe the characters were too perfect, but that stuff contained every ounce of my middle school aged passion, and there was nothing wrong with it. Nothing about it deserved hate, and the same holds true for every other kid who has ever written fanfic.
So back to the anti-Mary Sue sentiment on FFN. By the time I started posting on FFN, I wasn’t writing Self Inserts anymore. At one point, I did write a fic about my friend’s (the one from above’s) OC, but that was only posted on my Wattpad. Tbh I can’t recall if I had my FFN account at that time, but either way no Self Inserts were posted on my FFN. I learned that no one liked OCs; that at best you wouldn’t get reads for fics containing them, at worst you would get hate comments about how they were Mary Sues. I actually had a thicker skin in high school than I do now (how did that happen?), but I still stopped writing OCs. I went from a girl who had literally hundreds of OCs (ask me nicely and I might screenshot the character lists from my Warrior Cats phase for you: its impressive), to a girl who wrote canon characters and canon characters only.
It took me a long time to start writing OCs again. Eventually, when I was college I started to feel like the hatred of OCs was stupid. Why did I have to avoid OCs just because everyone hated them and thought they were Mary Sues? I wrote original fiction as well as fanfic! Didn’t that mean that I knew how to write an OC without making them a Mary Sue? I decided I was sick of it so I wrote a fic flying in the face of all of it. That fic is about the Jedi Order during the Clone Wars, and its easily one of the artsiest things I’ve ever written. It’s structured as a collection of short scenes set from the of AoTC until RoTS. Each scene is in a different character’s POV and at least mentions the character who will be in POV character in the next one. The characters were drawn from canon, the old EU and my old OCs. Reba-Kah makes an appearance, and so does Emjen Enla (actually I think this might be the only time I ever actually wrote Emjen, but that’s another story entirely). I’m not going to link it because I wrote it a long time ago and I’m a much better writer now, but while writing this I looked back at it I noticed that I’d included an author’s note that talks a lot about the same things I’m discussing here, so obviously that was on my mind.
No one read that fic, but at least I didn’t get any hate on it. Still, it’s now 2020 and I’m writing the Fightingverse, which is a series where half the major characters are OCs. I’m pleasantly surprised with the responses that it’s getting, actually. I didn’t think anyone would read the first Baas POV fic (I hesitate to say Baas’s fic because that’s something else entirely), but people did and it has a fair number of Kudos so it seems people like it. Maybe things are getting better now (probably not, but I’m a pessimist, what do I know?).
On a more global scale, in my experience only two types of characters get nailed with the “Gross, a Mary Sue” bullshit. They are:
1. Characters who are women who inhabit roles that are considered men’s roles or who are badass and powerful in ways people think only men should be. (Rey from the Star Wars Sequels is an example of this.)
2. Self Insert OCs written by kids (usually girls, actually) who are just having fun imagining that they are part of the story and are cool and powerful and can save the day.
If you look at those two categories it becomes obvious that there is a lot more to unpack here than just whether someone who writes a “Mary Sue” is a terrible writer and deserves to be shamed off the internet. Actually, it becomes obvious that isn’t the problem at all (//sarcasm Oh, it looks like Mary Sue hate was just misogyny all along! Who would have thought? I’m so shocked!). It becomes obvious that Mary Sue is just a charge people level on characters they personally dislike even if the character is well characterized. (And yes I know a Gary Stu is a thing, but that term was never used with as much hate as Mary Sue is.)
To further hammer this home, out of curiosity I tried to fill the Mary Sue Litmus test linked above out on myself. I got a 20, which in fanfic terms means there’s a low-to-moderate chance I’m a Mary Sue (//sarcasm “but don’t worry this is generally a safe range to be in”). 😬The list contains traits possessed by many well-loved fictional characters including Katara, Toph and Aang from Avatar the Last Airbender. It shits on age-old tropes like the chosen one narrative. Your character becomes more of a Mary Sue if the other characters mourn them when they die (wtf?). If you only check a couple things your character is either a “Hood Ornament” (meaning you’re such a sucky writer you can’t even manage an active character so we’re going to hate you) or an “anti-Sue” (meaning you tried so hard not to write a Mary Sue you did the exact opposite and we’re still going to hate you). Above all you can tell that the list is based on one person’s opinion, and their arrogance oozes through every word of the stupid thing. It’s awful. I hate it. It’s a good thing the creator realized it was messed up, even if it’s too late and the damage is already done.
Basically where I’m going with this is that there’s nothing productive about Mary Sue hate. It always either demonstrates your prejudices or attacks younger writers (often both). People need the space to learn, and they can’t do that if they get attacked for writing things that they enjoy. Women chosen ones and women with badass powers are also things that should exist; they should not be held to standards that men in the same roles would not be. The Mary Sue label is not helpful and just gives people a convenient buzzword to use to spew hate.
tl;dr: The concept of Mary Sues in inherently flawed and based in attacks on young writers at best and outright misogyny at worst.
(Note: I deliberately did not touch on the genres of x OC and x Reader fanfic that is written by adults because I have very little experience with them. However, at casual glance, it appears the point is writing a character who is generic enough to allow the reader to project themself into the story, which changes the rules slightly as you could argue the writer is deliberately trying to write a character who would be considered a Mary Sue.)

Tbh, I waffle about on this. I toss them around in my head and have started a few, but never actually made a complete playlist for a character. I haven’t really considered making them for any of my stories, simply because they usually grow out of proportion and each arc will have a different theme of character growth/regression, etc.
2. What is your stance on endings that don’t end with some hope?
It honestly blows my mind as to why anyone would want a hopeless ending. I mean to each their own and people can like what they like. But for me, life sucks enough sometimes, so why would I want my escape (reading, writing, etc) to have the same negativity? It makes me feel trapped and messes with my head to have a hopeless or angsty ending.
3. What author would you love to hear feedback from on your WIP?
No mainstream authors off the top of my head, though I wouldn’t mind some feedback or bouncing ideas off a few of my mutuals.
4. What is the genre of your WIP(s)?
UHHHH. Kinda complex because there’s different genres they each fit into. There’s generally a good dose of angst and a theme of self-acceptance or growing through circumstance. My stories also tend to center around the idea of family, whether they are through blood or through miscreants coming together and deciding they are family. There’s sometimes romance, but one of my current fics is purely about developing platonically, finding place in the character’s family, and exploring familial love rather than romantic love (though there will be romance in the sequel bc it’s a soulmate fic).
5. How do you come up with new ideas for your WIP(s)?
Honestly, it comes and goes. I’ll go through spells where I find everything inspiring new fics/scenes/characters, and then there are times when literally nothing inspires new content. Usually listening to music, watching music videos, or reading feelings-driven fanfics by other authors helps (I always have to do something with the leftover emotions they gave me, which gets my gears turning).
6. What do you use to keep all your writing on? (Scrivener, Google Docs, good old pen and paper…)
I generally just use Microsoft Word (I get a free subscription through my school, so I just use a personal account to separate creative and school-related work). Though I usually find pen and paper really good to use sometimes (also, all of my outlines and random plot ideas that may or may not be used are on paper) and the switch-up can sometimes get the creative juices flowing. I use Google Docs for beta-work, but I’m always editing others’ work and have never actually had someone else edit my own (which is why sometimes my personal stuff seems like it wasn’t edited- I put all of my editing energy into other people’s things ^^”)
7. What gave you initial inspiration for your WIP(s)?
AHAhahahaaaa.... Let’s see if I can remember.
My oneshots are inspired by whims.
Singularity was created when I was going through a really hard time. The OC I created for it (though it’s written as a reader insert) and a lot of the plot were to help me manage myself several years ago. So my emotions and desire to overcome what I was going through inspired that.
Red-Eyed was inspired by some artwork I saw here on tumblr and people liked the setup/prompt I reblogged it with, so that was pretty random.
Ill-Fated started off as a smut that grew some plot. Idk.
The Eyrie is a fic that was based off of an angsty oneshot I wrote after reading a particularly angsty chapter of End My Lonliness by @historicfailure. So it grew a backstory (I have a bad habit of thinking about the psychology and influencing histories of characters that I create ^^”) for the character and so this fic is kind of a prequel to the oneshot?
8. How long have you been working on your WIP(s)?
Singularity has been in the works for almost 4yrs off and on now, though I have only been writing it for around 9mo. The rest of my fics are 6mo or less because I have no self control.
9. What was the first thing you came up with for your WIP(s)?
For Singularity, I think it was a scene in the build-up to the final climax? I think I was waffling over a character overcoming a problem. But I don’t think it was much, because I started working on the main character next and the plot started filling in as I created him (scenes that would alter him, problems he would encounter, why he deals with certain aspects of his personality and angst-related feelings, etc).
10. Have you considered Hogwarts houses for your characters? If so, what are they?
I’m probably going to get flak for this, but I’ve never read or watched the Harry Potter series. Since it’s still on my bucket list, not yet.
11. What do you find easiest to write? (Description, dialogue, etc.)
I find dialogues the easiest to write, though action sequences are the easiest to create in my mind.
I’m too tired to put a coherent thought together, let alone think about who has/hasn’t already been tagged or would have fun doing this, so anyone who wants to, please feel free to do this! And be sure to tag me so I can read your posts!

Spoiler-free COG feelings/essay/thoughts before I see the movie. Spoiler-free because the movie isn’t out here til the end of the week but obviously, I’ve picked up info from trailers and interviews and things like that so sort of common knowledge stuff but I guess if you’ve avoided all the promos for the year I wouldn’t want to ruin it for you now so don’t read until after you’ve seen it if that’s the case (again, I only know basic info).
I have a lot of feelings that I’ve been sitting on for a while because frankly, large parts of the Fantastic Beasts and Harry Potter fandom terrify me. It’s why in my nineteen years (okay, thirteen years – I had to learn how to read) I’ve distanced myself from engaging in the fandom too much and when I do, I try and stick to as safe, neutral content as possible.
But I’m going to write a little bit a lot (my anxiety’s poppin off the charts right now) not to antagonise anyone or personally offend people just to get this pent up crap off my chest before I see the movie.
I have Māori and Pākehā parentage. Although I am proud to be a Māori girl and I’m definitely not white-passing, I do acknowledge that out of my family, I was born with the lightest skin and being a lighter-skinned/mixed poc among my family and friends has made me recognise my privilege. That isn’t to say I haven’t experienced lifelong struggles with racism, bullying and discrimination but I will never experience the same micro-aggressions and experiences that they have. Although, I do have light-skinned privileges and I don’t ever want to take away the struggles of my family that I won’t experience on the same level, growing up looking a little different opened me up a lot of feelings of invalidation within my own culture. When I experienced racism as a child, I was also met with disdain for being upset about it when I wanted to talk about it. This was when I was a child and I didn’t understand lighter skinned privilege or the animosity from some of my own people. I am far more educated now, but during that confusing time I, like most children, turned to literature (which in turn is what helped me make sense of the world).
I’ve gotten a little off track – this isn’t overly important to what I’m writing about, but it is introducing my opinion as coming from a woman of colour who has experienced racism and horrible bullying, but I always feel the need to clarify my position as a lighter skinned poc before giving my opinion based on those experiences.
Obviously from my content, I love Leta Lestrange. Perhaps it started out as a matter of representation, but I feel like over the past year, I have become intrigued with her for a number of reasons. She’s striking me as a Sirius, Regulus and Andromeda Black type character. Different to her family and caught in a struggle of light and dark (magic, not skin colour). Loves magical creatures. I haven’t seen it yet but it seems like she is one of the centre point characters of the film. She seems to be connected to many of the main characters in one way or another and has always striked me as the most intriguing.
I really do hope I am wrong but the ‘other’ love interest’s in the Harry Potter universe are usually treated terribly. They experience character assassination to further the development of the canon/new interest.
I really hope this film doesn’t do the whole blow out a woc character to make the white, self-insert, classically beautiful, ‘im not like other girls’ character shine brighter.
Before everyone comes for me, I wouldn’t say I’m a Tina ‘anti’ whatever that is. There’s no like extreme hatred at all! I would say I don’t like Tina as a character, or Queenie for that matter. Not yet anyway. The new trailer gives me hope that this movie might win me over finally. It doesn’t need to be upsetting or offensive to anyone. There are lots of people out there with favourite and not-so-favourite characters. A lot of people dislike Ron, Dumbledore, Snape, even Harry…and there are people who have those characters as their favourite.
There are a lot of reasons I don’t like Tina and Queenie. I may address them in a different post if being vague upsets people more than going in-depth but at this point, I am trying to stay as unconfrontational as possible but I have seen people get extremely furious when they don’t deem your reason for disliking them to be ‘good enough’ so if not saying exactly what I find uncomfortable about them is not as preferable as telling people then I can write it up as respectfully as possible if I’m treated the same way. All I’ll say is that I think Tina is a good person, but, in my opinion, not a great character. Queenie is the opposite. I would not like Queenie as a person but I have to admit, she’s a good character. But I’ll hold the rest of my opinions until after the second film.
Honestly, the film adaptions leave some of my favourite book characters to be desired. Maybe if FB was a novel, I’d like Tina but I really dislike her in the movies. I have seen people blow up when this is said. I try to understand the outrage. I think one of the reasons I dislike Tina is one of the reasons why people love her. She is, at this point and in my opinion (which is ONLY an opinion), a self-insert character. Any Newt x Reader fanfiction can easily read as a Newtina fanfiction and vice versa. I know. Because I’m a FB fanfiction writer myself and tried to write her. Sometimes when you attach yourself to a character so much, it can feel personally offensive when someone says something as harmless such as they don’t like then. I don’t experience this as often. Every Reader/OC fanfiction is, perhaps unintentionally, but nearly always aimed at a white person in description. In actuality, nearly every character in literature is, intentionally or not, described with textbook white features or assumed white by the fandom/readers/watchers.
I know people are going to hate this opinion because I’ve seen people jump down other people’s throats when this gets brought up. I do believe, whether it is conscious or not, Leta not being white COULD, subconsciously, be a factor as to why she is so inherently hated. I’ve seen more hate for Leta than any other character – even the antagonist! I hate what they did to Lavender Brown, book and movie wise, but even she, being as over exaggeratedly unlikable as a romantic plot device, received and still receives far less fandom hate than Cho Chang (who was also eventually written to be ‘jealous, hysterical, unlikeable’, etc, etc – I don’t agree btw I love, understand and appreciate Cho and Lavender)  who was smart, talented, kind, traumatised, and until it was no longer convenient to the main characters romance for her to be ‘likeable’ anymore.
I wish I could enjoy going through the Leta tag but often, her and Newt can’t even be in a scene or photo together and people lose their minds with anger and hate. Literally, the comments on any scene/photo they are in are all along the lines of ‘stay away from newt!/poor tina/urgh, don’t flirt leta/leta WHAT ARE YOU DOING?’. Sorry, to break it to you guys but it isn’t a love triangle. It’s a love conga line. The only person getting in the way of ‘Newtina’ is Newt. Instagram is even worse. By worse, I mean horrible beyond belief. The better comments are the ones are the ones merely (though still grossly) comparing her to Tina and how much they dislike her, the other ones are wishes that she’ll get killed or join Grindelwald. It’s literally not even hidden the fact they wish either of these things happen so Newtina can happen faster. I’m not a Newtina shipper at all (Yet. Again, this might change if the films improve) but this would be one of the worst ways to further your ship. That is literally not going to change the fact that Newt’s still in love with her (you can have feelings for two people at the same time. The filmmakers confirmed - in fact, one of the first things about the new movie that they confirmed - that Newt is ‘absolutely still in love with her’), it just makes her conveniently unattainable. I do have a feeling that Leta might die and if it happens, it better not be because she’s unwillingly in the way of a ‘love triangle’ that people have forced these three characters into. If Newtina is going to happen in a way that isn’t awful, rushed and horrible, it will be slow-burn and it’s in own time AFTER Newt has healed and properly fixed things with Leta. You can’t be best friends and in love with someone for 15+ years and fall out of love with them immediately after they die, turn bad and settle for a woman you met for like two days and collectively spent maybe ten hours with. It might be a Ron/Hermione situation where it’s slow and eventual. That’s the only way I could possibly get on board and I think it could be done tastefully if they don’t resort to lazy writing. I do have my fingers crossed I’ll start to like the Goldsteins before this happens and I can enjoy it as much as everyone else does.
To be honest, after seeing the trailers, I see only two endings for Leta (and I hate them BOTH):
She joins Grindelwald: If this is the plot twist, it’s the shittiest plot twist ever. Pretty much 90% of the fans since seeing the first film have assumed/liked to believe she’s pure evil. Probably the characters themselves all assume she’s evil from her last name. I was worried the whole ‘haha, I was on Grindelwald’s side all along!’ situation was going to happen. We know JK hates Slytherins. My ‘Leta joins Grindelwald’ theory would be that she has always been on the good side – or trying to be – and after YEARS of oppression and discrimination and being distrusted by maybe the central characters in this film no matter how hard she tries AND maybe finally realising that Newt isn’t going to ever forgive her she just snaps and goes all ‘f*ck you guys then’ (I wouldn’t blame her tbh). HOWEVER, I doubt this. In a trailer, you literally see Leta THROW a fucking spell STANDING BY HERSELF (what u doin bby?) at Grindelwald. Trust me, if this was Tina it would have been all everyone was talking about but of course the fandom was all ‘yeah, see, she’s in the same frame as Grindelwald SHE’S EVIL’. One of the trailers is literally titled Leta vs. Grindelwald. Everything in the trailers/promos points to Queenie joining Grindelwald but *shrugs, I guess*.
Leta dies: I get this may seem the preferable way to appease the Leta haters and the Leta lovers especially if she dies after redeeming herself or heroically or whatever but urgh, no. I know everyone’s like ‘DoNt MAKe ThIS AbOUT RaCe’ when the woc character inevitably is killed but I’m sorry. To have been able to sit in a theatre as a little girl and see Leta Lestrange in the wizarding world would have blown my tiny mind. Honestly, as an older teen seeing Zoe Kravitz in that little photo frame in Newt’s case in the first film was iconic enough for me. After growing up being made to believe I was ‘unattractive’ because of how I looked, seeing total dreamboats like Callum Turner and Eddie Redmayne’s characters being all heart-eyes over Leta is, like...wow!  And I do have an uncomfortable truth for people who want Leta to die. That would possibly be the WORST thing to happen for the Newtina thing (would pretty much be the last nail in the coffin for me ever coming around to it). I’ve seen it happen in my family when someone you love dies. Your feelings for them essentially FREEZE. You can’t fall out of love with someone who is dead. That’s of course not to say that you don’t love again and just as much as the first time. But it takes time (LOTS of it) and there’s a little part of your heart that’s like…permanently sealed off. I don’t even like Newtina yet and I’m hoping for the sake of the Newtina fans that Leta doesn’t die because freakin’ yikes. Just let them heal and connect and be besties again goddammit, its POSSIBLE (and bet your ass I’ll write it my god damn self to prove it if they don’t).
I know these are highly unpopular opinions and I HOPE that I am wrong, and they do her character justice and don’t discard her via death or the dark side.
In summary, I suppose my biggest struggle with Leta’s character is definitely the overwhelming fandom hate which I still can’t quite comprehend. I really want to believe it isn’t a race thing. Though, I have seen horrible posts about Leta, mean comments on nearly every Leta promo, Zoe Kravitz literally being called a c*nt in the comments of a Leta post on tumblr, a lot of fanfictions having her be primarily evil, selfish, manipulative, in some a rapist even, ugly, cruel, etc. But honestly, she’s literally not interfering in Newt having a relationship with anyone at all??? She’s literally been villainised because her friend can’t get over her (getting Snily nostalgia). But buggered if I’ve been able to find next to anything of that calibre about Jacob’s fiancée (literally a Queenie doppelganger) who left him, like, the day he met Queenie. I get that it was a deleted scene for those non-hardcore fans, but Leta-hate was literally kicked off by a picture in a photo frame and a comment made by a, in my opinion, kind of not-nearly-as-infallible-as-people-think character that barely knows Newt breaking into his head non-consensually (after being repeatedly told not to) who had an agenda to hook him up with her sister. Sooo…*shrugs*.
Even I personally have tried to keep out of the fandom debates, but I wrote a Leta and Newt story (still ongoing) that I stopped for a while because the kind of disgusting comments I was receiving about people hating the pairing. Which, I get. You don’t like a pairing, that’s cool? Why are you going and seeking out a piece about them and then taking the time to leave a comment? Whenever I start to read a story about Leta being this horrific monster of a person and being torn apart and compared and occasionally borderline racist, I just…click out? I know it’s only a small patch of weeds in what is likely a garden of roses, but I have never come across such an insecure fandom for a literal canon ship. If the relationship was that pure and strong, you wouldn’t feel the need to kill or villainise the (non-existent) ‘threat’. I just hope the writers feel the same way. You can write healthy closures and strong women of colour characters without casting them aside for plot development/man pain/stereotypical Caucasian romance/plot device, etc... I’m going to go into the theatre at the end of the week slightly optimistic to be fair but I’m also fully expecting to be disappointed but honestly, Leta could avada kedavra every character and she’s still going to be my favourite, I don’t make the rules.

1) How old were you when you first starting writing fanfiction?
the first fanfiction I wrote was harvest moon fic and I wrote it in 4th grade............. which means........... 8.........????????? I was 8 years old...????????????????????
3) Do you prefer writing OC’s or reader inserts? Explain your answer.
I’m not sure what reader inserts are... like, reader pov fics? character/reader fics? If that’s the case I prefer ocs because basing a character off the reader is too ambiguous to control for. “[reader] feels [emotion]” do they though???? do they????? who’s to say reader doesn’t feel a completely different emotion. much more simple to come up with a character who you know would feel [emotion].
8) Where do you take your inspiration from?
something I didn’t go too in detail with is that to some degree, probably 50% of my fic is some form of wish fulfillment..? or a way of venting feelings I’m still processing, or feelings I’ve processed and need to channel productively. or a way to write out what I wish someone would tell me, or what I think I need to hear. a lot of themes in my fic are like... “say what you mean” or “just talk to the other person” which is stuff I’m still struggling to do tbh. dumps fic on hypothetical psychoanalyst. here’s what you need good luck lmao
9) In your xxx fic, what’s your favourite scene that you wrote?
I guess I’ll do latest fic... it’s a toss up between the first scene, the pidge scene, and the shiro scene. but I think first scene wins out. the food goo. the finger guns. the manic-misery. “thank you”. it’s fun.
12) Who is your favourite character to write for? Why?
Probably Yusuke... he’s really dramatic and florid and it’s really present a situation through his pov while also giving enough of the scene so the audience can get a sense of What’s Actually Happening. actually another answer would be Sloane because we didn’t get a lot for her so I made her characterization as self-indulgent as possible & ran wild with it.
24) How do you feel about writing smutty scenes?
very unrelateable & hard to conceptualize..... can do mature through implications, but explicit is right out.......  & beyond that I don’t want to attach my public handle to one, that’s like.. a pretty firm personal boundary I have.....
48) What’s your favourite trope to write?
I like............. terrible confessions................. awkward romance............ that’s my jam.....................................

First Line Tag Game
I was tagged by @tyriantyrant
Rules: List the first lines of your last 20 stories (if you have less than 20, just list them all). See if there are any patterns. Choose your favorite opening line, then tag 10 of your favorite authors!
I usually dont do tag games, and i dislike tagging other people but this is fun enough lol
Unfinished Giorno/Trish/Mista Fic:  A house full of gangsters wasn't one you’d expect to be quiet or relaxed, full of homey goods or framed photographs. Chapter 5 and 6 of a collab AbbaGio fic that hasnt been posted yet;  Giorno felt his eye twitch as he looked across the desk at the mountains of papers Bucciarati had slapped down in front of him.  + Around him rushed with what seemed to be the entire hotel’s population, all shoved into one dimly lit and sweaty room. WRH/JC MDZS Fic for a friend:  The Sunshot Campaign; mighty in name, mighty in effort. Mighty in it’s failure.
Omega Giorno fic for another friend: Giorno wiggles deeper into the mountain of plush clothing, the three blankets thrown over the top shifting only slightly around the bulging sides. The pile was mainly consisting of pillows and soft t-shirts, though a few boxers were thrown in as well just for good measure. Unfinished Bucci and Giorno bonding fic where they go to an art gallery: Bruno Bucciarati is a weird man. There’s no questioning it, as much as Giorno cares about him, that the man is as odd and intricate as the rest of the people surrounding him. He’s a caring soul, empathetic and kind with a fiery drive to help as many as he can. Yet despite that he has the capability to be as deadly terrifying and unhinged as one might expect from a man who had no issue Licking A Teenager’s Face as an interrogation tactic. It’s odd to think that a year on, this guy was practically Giorno’s parent now. Chose-Your-Own-Ending Game thingy: -You decide to take the grassy path to the right. - It wasn’t like the other paths would lead anywhere better, would they? - Too late to think about that now. Lonely Static: Self Insert Reader/Abbacchio (backstory for my OC fic): There are a few irrefutable facts you know about your life. Self Insert OC with with @togepixels oc: People chatter happily as they walk along the sunny Italian street, their relaxed paces evidencing their easy going days. It wasn’t too late into the day, not even gone lunchtime yet, though quite a few people milled around the square in cafe seats or making their way from tourist attraction to tourist attraction. Projections: RWCW Kid Giorno Challenge Fic:  “-And this is the Item Room!” the Speedwagon Foundation employee announces, throwing open the thick white door with as much flourish as a heavy fire door can be opened with.  Very Old Unfinished Voltron fic i will never finish: The two blue stars either side glowed brightly in the empty void of space around them, and the base between them was imposing and mystical, hovering almost magically between the crushing gravity fields. While Lance may not have understood entirely how they worked or why they were dangerous, he’d spent enough time at home in the ocean to learn how to appreciate the beauty of peril.
Shimmering Stars: Johnny Joestar Character Analysis fic:  The fire was simmering down, the first drops of glittering snow fell around it slowly and softly. Each flake glittered in the light like the stars would above if the clouds thinned.   Privately Owned Spiral Galaxy: The nineteen year old Don of Passione didn't do field work, didn't go on missions, didn't put himself in harms way. He shouldn't. He should be sat behind a desk, or in meetings, or in the corner of big networking events with a glass of awful champagne in his hand that he would not drink even a sip of. Spring Cleaning (But In Fall) [Old BTD fic i wrote]: “Where do you want these ones?” You heave, holding up two massive, off-colour pillows. Both are obviously covered in an assortment of old, colourful stains, but overall look relatively clean in comparison to some of the junk you’ve heaved to and from the rooms today. thats all i can be arsed to do tbh I am very sleepy

Fanfic author interview
Tagged by @neganstonguething, thank u so much <3
1. What inspires your work most? (The show it is based on, the actor who portrays a certain character, maybe the character itself…? It could even be an experience.)
I don’t have experiences of my own to inspire any sort of interesting story tbh. I think that the most driving factor when I write something is a character’s personality and what can be made with it. When I’m writing I’m most likely trying to get a grasp on a specific feeling out of the dynamic between the characters, so yeah, most of the time I’m gonna be inspired by the character’s personality and wanting to play with it. Another very large factor is when I see other authors doing amazing fics and making me think, ‘fuck, I wish I could do something like this! Let’s get to work.”
2. What is your favorite fandom to write for?
The Walking Dead, no doubt. Not only is it my current fandom, but it has responded and stimulated me in a way I couldn’t imagine. I mean, I know I’m biased but that’s my answer at the moment. It’s what’s flooding my head now and it’s what gets me some reaction at all, so yeah, it’s what I enjoy most. I still have some ideas for SPN that I wish to tackle some day, but I don’t get the excitement from them I get from TWD ideas.
3. Which perspective do you prefer writing in? (First-person, third-person)
First person feels so weird to me lmao, I don’t think I’d be able to pull it off even if if I tried my damnest. So yeah, third person, it feels better and more natural to me. 4. Do you prefer writing reader fics or OCs?
I have never written any self insert. The point to fics, at least to me, is having fun with already-existing characters and dynamics. I can get nothing from shoving a blank slate into that world and act like I should have any emotional attachment to it. I just’s cant. Besides, ‘Negan leaned in and kissed ‘y/n’ has gotta be one of the most mood killing things ever lmao.
As for ocs, I don’t have any tbh. I’m trying to work on it tho, see if I can do anything.
5. Do you prefer writing longer works or one shots?
Some time ago I’d have answered one-shots. Now, though, I definitely prefer longer stuff simply because it allows me to go deeper into an idea and have my fun with it. Besides, looking at it later on and thinking ‘yep, I wrote that’ is a nice af feeling.
6. Do you take requests?
Y E S have them coming pls, I might take forever to do them ( @holyjeffreydeanmorgan I haven’t forgotten you I swear I’m on it) but I love seeing a request. It’s so very lovely to think that someone would ask me to write something because they’d like it <3
7. Do you enjoy getting random Asks?
I mean right now I can’t think of any instance when I have gotten any? But yes, I’d very very much love to! :D I’m open to listening and I like talking to people, be more than welcome!
8. What inspires the names for OCs (or extra character names) in your works? Do you pick them from real life or just select them at random? A mix?
For the most part if I gotta give a character a name I just pick one I like and I feel sounds like it’d match them. No deep reasoning here I’m afraid :p 9. If your story(ies) have OCs, are their appearances based on real people or celebrities? If so, who?
I don’t think so? I have made ONE mention of a non-canon character in a fic and his appearance was kinda vague, I didn’t put a face to him.
10. How long have you been writing fanfiction?
When did the first Hobbit movie come out? 2013? Probably then, but it was just a one time lame thing. I had also written a pokémon fic and a digimon one years before lmao. I started writing more or less consistently in SPN, in 2015.
gonna tag @getting-grimey @binegan @hatterized @envydean (HOW DID I FORGET U) @lafitte @anarchycox and uuuuuh I dunno who else?

Self-Insert
My submission for the wolfstar introvert prompt: Internet Crush
Huge thanks to @nachodiablo and @mirgaxus for the beta and the support!
Summary: Remus and Sirius both write self-insert fics in the same fandom. One day Sirius asks to borrow Remus's OC for his new fic. What could he possibly be planning, and what is the mystery pairing he promised to introduce?
Read it here or on AO3
Padfoot was a very popular writer in the Double Trouble fandom. His OC, Orion, had long, sleek black hair, piercing grey eyes, and cheekbones that could cut glass. Orion liked to wear crop tops, leather jackets and combat boots, as well as numerous sassy pride pins. In some stories he just hung out with the prankster YouTuber twins, but usually he dated Fabian, the member of the duo who was rumored to be gay. The stories were filled with cheeky innuendo, and the occasional euphemistic sex scene. Truth be told, Remus had a bit of a crush on Orion - how could he not? He knew most of the readers did, because they said so, in all caps, in the comments section.
Remus also wrote fics in the Double Trouble fandom, under the nickname Moony, but he wasn't nearly as popular. His OC, Romulus, also usually dated Fabian, although in one fic it was Fabian's brother Gideon who was secretly gay and fell for the shy OC. Remus didn't describe Romulus's appearance much, only stating he had light brown hair and looked very average, but his best friend, Daisy, who appeared in all the stories, assured him he was totally cute. He did always mention Romulus's shyness, bookishness, and inexperience.
Romulus was just naturally uninterested in fooling around, focusing on finding The One. In some stories he'd never even kissed anyone. Remus felt like the story was cleaner that way, even though he himself had actually dated Lily, whom Daisy was based on, for two whole weeks.
Once, feeling brave, he decided to actually put his “relationship” with Lily in the story. It served as a way for Romulus to find out he didn’t like girls, because he was supposed to be attracted to her, but wasn't. Remus himself wasn’t actually sure he didn’t like girls, but he figured a totally gay character would be more relatable, as well as more attractive to a confident older guy like Fabian. He let Romulus feel confused for a while, just to make it interesting, before Fabian swept him off his feet and showed him how gay he actually was.
It was this story that got him his first comment from the one and only Padfoot.
Great story, man. I loved the confusion over Daisy and Fabian. Did you consider that Romulus might be bi or pan though? Not saying he has to be, just that while we all know Fab is hot enough turn any guy, even he can't put a guy off girls entirely if he's into them.
His heart beating fast, Remus wrote a reply:
Haha, yeah. He could be bi. I mean Daisy's not the only girl in the world. But right now he obviously has a strong preference for men, and one especially. ;)
Thanks for commenting!
Over the next few months, Padfoot commented on all of Remus's fics, and on every new chapter of his WiP. He even followed Remus back on Tumblr, after months of Remus following him. Occasionally he messaged Remus, although the conversation usually fizzled quickly since Remus had no idea what to say. Remus consoled himself with Padfoot's frequent likes on his posts, which never failed to put a goofy grin on Remus’s face.
And then the fandom exploded. It came out that Fabian was dating Caradoc Dearborn, a popular and rather attractive game reviewer. Some fans were excited about the new ship, but others mourned, especially those whose OCs were paired with Fabian. Padfoot, however, announced on his blog that he was writing a new story, which was Fabidoc, and also contained a new pairing. Remus clicked like. Orion and Gideon would be hot together. A minute later, he was surprised to see a message from Padfoot.
padfoot hey moony
moony Hi?
padfoot what's up? listen i wanted to ask you smtg
moony Sure
padfoot can i borrow romulus for a story i'm working on?
moony Er, sure. What for?
padfoot you'll see
Unlike most of Padfoot's stories, the new story turned out to be a slow burn. It was an AU set in a college, and the first few chapters were mostly Fabian and Orion being flirty gossipy gay best friends, and Gideon being straight and exasperated. Caradoc showed up in chapter two, but only hung out with Gideon, barely giving Fabian a glance. There were some crazy plans cooked up by Orion and Fabian (with occasional input from Gideon, who just couldn't help himself) to get Caradoc's attention on Fabian, all failing spectacularly, but there was no love interest for Orion himself.
Remus was stalking Padfoot's face tag (he looked just like he described Orion, although Remus wondered if the eyes were photoshopped), when he received an email notification from AO3. "Padfoot just posted chapter 5 of The Moon to My Stars," it said. Excited, he clicked the link.
And there he was. Romulus was the cute hipster working in the library, described at length from his soft brown curls to his scuffed trainers. Orion only had time to ask his name before he had to dash, throwing one last wink at him, narrowly escaping a furious Gideon, whom he had locked in a bathroom stall so that Fabian could go meet Caradoc in his stead.
Remus thought false imprisonment, of a friend no less, was rather excessive just to get your friend a date. He was about to click the back button, disappointed, but his eye was drawn to the next paragraph, where Fabian was relating how Caradoc had recognized him immediately and saved him from trying to pretend to be Gid. Apparently Fabian was having second thoughts about the plan, because what do you know, some people don't want to start a relationship based on lies. He was extremely pleased that Caradoc  had recognized him, though, considering he and Gideon were identical twins and most people couldn't tell them apart. Remus thought it was very romantic, even though he himself had memorized the freckle patterns of both twins and could tell them apart easily.
The story rolled faster from there. In chapter six, Fabian refused to listen to any more plans. His new plan, to Orion's chagrin, was to stop playing around and be direct. It seemed to work for him, as he managed to make plans alone with Caradoc (which he insisted were not a date, because nobody said so directly, but obviously were). Orion, dragged away by Gid when he tried to spy on them, and then ditched in favor of football practice, wandered into the library, bored. Of course, there he met Romulus again. Remus thought the description of Romulus's laugh was a bit gratuitous, as was Orion's random stretching, like he didn't wear crop tops half the time anyway.
The chapter ended there, leaving Remus a little confused. Was Orion flirting with Romulus? Just then, he heard a pop sound. He had a message from Padfoot on Tumblr.
padfoot have you read my new chapter?
moony Yeah, just finished it, very cute Are we going to see Fab and Doc's date though?
padfoot nope orion's not there if he doesn't get to see it then neither do you
moony You can change POV just for that?
padfoot meh tbh they're a side pairing
moony What do you mean?
padfoot moony, do you want to maybe beta the next chapter? it's nearly done
moony Alright Are you going to answer my question?
padfoot nope i'm sending you a google docs link in half an hour
padfoot here: [link]
moony Padfoot!
padfoot moony! did you like it?
moony Yes, but Isn't Orion basically you?
padfoot yeah
moony And you realize Romulus is me, right?
padfoot lol yes i figured hoped
moony So...
padfoot so?
moony So you paired our characters together in your fic
padfoot yep! ^__^
moony Your gorgeous sexy OC and my dorky OC.
padfoot rom's not dorky ok he's a little dorky, but in a cute way also thanks :D since we've established orion's actually me glad you think i'm gorgeous and sexy
moony Padfoot
padfoot because i've been trying to get your attention for months
moony Wait, what? Months?
padfoot yes, months i've reblogged every one of your rare selfies i've commented on every chapter you posted i recced you on my blog and now i went and did this very nearly in public i mean anyone reading mtms knows where this is going but at least this chapter isn't posted on there so i could maybe i dunno abandon the fic if you don't like me back
moony What do you mean everyone knows where it's going? I didn't know where it was going!
padfoot how?? they were obviously flirting i mean it's a fic they always get together in the end also it's called the moon to my stars ffs
moony It wasn't obvious to me I mean I suspected but I wasn't sure
padfoot oh my god and here i thought you p much hated me or weren't even reading because i'm boring or you think i'm a perv or smtg
moony Hey, I left kudos!
padfoot yeah, back when i posted ch 1 i thought maybe you stopped reading
moony No, definitely not Sorry, I just get anxious when I try to comment
padfoot no no, i'm not trying to guilt you about not commenting that's totally fine
moony Okay
padfoot ffs moony, will you please put me out of my misery already? do you like me back or not??
moony You were the one who pointed out that I pretty much said I thought you were gorgeous and sexy
padfoot okay but you could still hate my personality
moony Is your personality like Orion's?
padfoot yes no he's the best of me and some of the not best too actually i make terrible decisions but they're amusing so i left that in but also we've been talking why do you need my oc to figure me out
moony I may have been a little star struck for most of our interactions You have tons of followers I have like five
padfoot i don't believe that
moony What, that I have five followers? Fine, I have 45. So many, aren't you amazed? Also your selfies are amazing and I'm a potato
padfoot you are not look, i actually like you i really hope you can look past the fandom celeb and just see me
moony Okay, I have an idea They have this date in chapter 8, right? Let's co write it Like, roleplay it
padfoot moony are you asking me out on a date??? that’s the best idea i've ever heard
moony Technically neither of us will be going out, but yeah, I guess I am?
padfoot ooh we can do it on skype then we can dress up for it
moony .... You just want to wear a crop top and fluster me, don't you?
padfoot good idea but we'll be sitting down anyway so you won't see it i'll have to put on makeup and fluster you
moony Okay we can talk about the details later, I gotta make a couple of corrections in your chapter
moony Okay, all done
padfoot yay! ^__^
padfoot er, moony?
moony Yes?
padfoot why are all your corrections related to rom checking out orion's butt?
moony ^_____^
padfoot don't use my emoticon against me
moony You haven't finished reading yet, have you? Keep going
padfoot oh my god they kiss romulus kisses orion moony you are perfect i'm keeping you
moony Hehe Please do <3
And they lived happily ever after, and got a shout out in the next Double Trouble video because Padfoot's fans ratted them out. The End.

wo w ee i am so excited to see where u take equilibrium! tbh i really like how u r writing jungkook (not in the obsessive relationship sense but like) because it feels like u r really giving us an insight to his mind and how complex of a character he is and like what drives him.. idk if that makes sense lol but i really enjoy the entire story and cant wait to see how it develops !!
Here are the rest of my equilibrium asks under the cut! I am so truly sorry that I just simply do not have the time to answer the rest of them (besides wouldnt you guys rather have me expending my energy on writing ch 12? ;)), but be assured that i have read each and every one of these messages multiple times over and appreciated them all
bonyg said:Equilibrium is really giving me mixed feelings, it's so complicated that I don't know if I want oc with Jungkook or Jimin. It's just not healthy to be in this relationship :"( if I were oc I'd definitely left them both even if I'm gonna die without Jimin :'( it's getting more exciting and I can't wait to know what's gonna happen between oc and Jimin. Thank you for updating ^^
jaaneman-s said:Hi, I don't if this sounds or rude or not, but I'd like to thank you? or idk, I was born in a very manly culture? I know (on my own) how certain things that look okay in this culture but are not in equalness and respect to the woman happen but reading equilibrium has like, opened my eyes a little bit? When I read ch.11 I just sat down and spent a while thinking about everything and how different you view stuff from my point, and how this is actually right? anyway keep the great work ily ♥
Anonymous said:pls read equilibrium at my funeral🙏🏻
Anonymous said:oh oH OH is it going to be one of the cases where the boy "misinterprets" the girls basic human kindness for flirting?!!?? If so, @ the character: go to hell
Anonymous said:Well, it seems like JK (and a little Y/N) has tipped the balance and now everything is coming crumbling down. Who does JK think he is?? I can't imagine Y/N could let the weekend go by without getting close to JM, especially since he needs her. I'm just anticipating the moment when jimin realizes and everything is out in the open. I really loved this chapter! You can see how bold JK is getting knowing that Y/N will do anything he wants, just for his cooperation. Suspenseful!
Anonymous said:me rn: *prays for a joon hyung to sweep OC off her feet and abandon JK and JM* (seriously i'm such weightlifting fairy trash it hurts) (also do you know where i can find my very own joon hyung 😭😭😭😭)
Anonymous said:Reads part 11 Equilibrium -insert jungshook meme here-
Anonymous said:Don't be bothered by those ungrateful readers who thinks you're obligated to write them more than 3k words. Seriously, did they somehow get the impression that they're paying you for this? Just write at your own pace so you can produce quality stuff.
Anonymous said:Finally got around to reading Chapter 11 & if I'm the oc I'd be on a plane up outta there so quick! Set Jimin up with some soup & a blanket, & scoot skedaddle my way out of dodge. Jungkook isn't about to talk to me like that, thinking dick isn't abundant & low value. Shit... Also bless your writing, each Equilibrium update has me on pins & needles~
Anonymous said:I just like... What if Jungkook comes home unexpectedly and finds y/n and Jimin getting it on and then flies into a murderous rage, severely injures Jimin and kidnaps y/n. The second part could be Jimin feeling all guilty and trying to find her while she tries to escape
Anonymous said:Holy shit I'm convinced that Jungkook poisoned Jimin because he's going to be away for the weekend and he's paranoid and crazy as shit that the OC might do something with Jimin so he made sure he's unable to do shit with her 😵 cuz when he called to ask her where she was for his graduation, he didn't even seem all that surprised that he's sick, he just cared about where the OC was.
Anonymous said:Twist end: OC learns boxing and kicks Junglebooks ass
Anonymous said:theory: part two will be titled monogamy and Jungkook and OC will have an abusive relationship. Cause you seem pretty adamant on the idea of abuse (which is 10000% not a bad thing for obvious reason) so i feel like you are taking this story as a lesson for girl to see the warning sign. and part 3 will be about her leaving him finally and becoming single or whatever
Anonymous said:I don't want to defend the oc by saying this but in equilibrium she clearly is right now the one who is fucked up The other 2 get what they want after jk's scary possessiveness and if she wouldn't be controlled by her feelings towards jimin then maybe she would've already left She has also fault but earlier they took advantage of each other's feelings and everyone got something that they wanted but rn oc is like trapped in a cage & can't even touch jimin Idk maybe I'm the only one who thinks so
Anonymous said:I don't understand equilibrium??? Like I thought it was sweet that JK wanted her all to himself but after chap. 11 I think it's just plain creepy with his possessive obsession towards her... like WTF! I kind of want to see Jimin's side of the story like why is he in love with JK and what is with JK not giving a f**k about Jimin at all like when he was the one who initiated this relationship anyways WHUT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED!
Anonymous said:I mean it Jungkook will kill them both. Like this boy has the makings of a serial killer. Why the fuck does the oc not love herself?? Why are you trying to create your happiness from the sparse attention given to you by a man??!! Why the fuck are these people so dysfunctional?? Even Jimin and Jungkook they're basing they're entire happiness on people who they know don't care!! If there's ever a lesson here its self love first before you can love someone else.
Anonymous said:Just read the new Equilibrium chapter (11) and wow JK is absolutely terrifying in there. I'm so glad there are stories out there that portray abuse the way it should be portrayed and not romanticized. I really just want the OC to get the hell out of that house and faaaaar away from this messed up relationship ): she needs to run away from him asap like forget Jimin he ain't helping you either just run while you still can girl!!!!
Anonymous said:iF JUNGKOOK GAVE JIMIN SOMETHING IM ABOUT TO GIVE HIM THE BIGGEST WHOOPING EVER
Anonymous said:Regarding Equilibrium, I reread some chapters after I was done with 11. The necklace bit in 11 makes the sex scene in 4 kinda freaky. The way Jungkook yanks on OC's chain and how he got angry when OC said that she didn't know where hers was. It's like Jungkook finds security in the couple necklaces because he associates it with OC being his and when OC doesn't wear the necklace, he feels that his possession has been taken away from him. Maybe I am thinking too much but it was such a cool detail.
Anonymous said:I have a feeling that jimin's going to witness something that's gonna break his heart bc if you look at the situation then jimin should be happy bc he gets his alone time with jk who he loves and he doesn't have to pretend to love the oc that often bc jk doesn't let her go near him and if jimin sees something that breaks his heart(jungkook&oc)then maybe he would leave both and so they would all go their own ways(?)none of them would have a reason to stay but maybe jk will become even scarier idk
Anonymous said:You should just have the OC in Equilibrium go full on Bruce Lee on JK and JM
Anonymous said:Chap 11 in Equilibrium freaked me out btw. Especially after the sex scene when OC watches Jimin sleep. You wrote "tug" so that implies that OC used her hands. So when OC finds her hands restricted by Jungkook, that honestly scared me. Also in that scene, it was interesting for OC to say that she would do anything to comfort Jimin but seemed to take back that statement when she was restricted by Jungkook. It's like OC has become more afraid of Jungkook than she is in love with Jimin.
Anonymous said:In ch11 of equilibrium it was really sad when she compared herself to a pet... like girl, you're a functioning human being, an adult that can take care of herself. You're able to get out of this cage that's been created around you. It's scary what manipulative people can do to someone but at least she knows what messed up situation she's in now and not like... being attracted(?) to the crazies JK is pushing on her
zeloandhobiaremyhubbies said:Hi there ^^ I'm a new reader, and can I just say I love your writing skills and the story line so far. With that being said, coming from a person who has a close friend in a manipulative/almost borderline abusive relationship, I can honestly say I hope the OC get out of that relationship, especially with Jungkook. There's a thin line between being jealous/slightly possessive and possessive and pretty much controlling. Ugh! I want to know what happens next, but I'm also scared to know as well.
Anonymous said:What do you mean you don't know where is the chain OC(me)?! How can I be so careless?? What if Jimin will find it, no I am sure he already did 😑 and now probably the person I precious the most hate me cuz I took his love of life... This shit (relationship) is not falling fast enough huh? Good job me, good job 😒😒
holdingbackforsnow said:I've read equilibrium 11 and somehow I have the feeling that Jimin knew. Even before Jeongguk showed how messed up he is for us readers. I feel like, that's why Jimin entered the relationship. Maybe he was worried for the OC and wanted to act as a buffer in between her and Jeongguk (including his feelings for Jeongguk) that would explain his phone call, when he was gone on business and even how he wanted the OC to go to graduation so badly. I feel like Jimin knows more than we think...
Anonymous said:As much as I anticipate every update, I hope you are taking care of yourself too! Even as an undergrad, I still get stressed & overwhelmed with my workload so I really worry about your well being since being a phd student is so much more stressful and you still give us great content. Thank you so much & I hope you can take some time for yourself as well! ik remembering to take care of yourself is the last thing on your mind with a huge workload but please please don't neglect your well being!
Anonymous said:Oh god Jungkook in Equilibrium is really a psychopath. The fact that he's so manipulative and lacks empathy for others; it's quite terrifying to think about how long he's been manipulating everyone without anyone realizing it. As a psychology major it's really interesting to read a character like this but it's scary how so many people see his behavior as okay esp since there's so many real cases of abusive relationships like this, it makes me really sad. Ty for shining light to issues like these
Anonymous said:Wow, jk has really started to go crazy-something's gonna blow up soon.love the tension you are building though. It's really appreciated the time you take to build an intricate storyline. and not to focus on negative stuff, but for real, if any misogynistic messages pops up now, then... While I think most readers (but apparantly not all) saw the possessive traits of jk in earlier chapters despite it being somewhat(but not very) subtle, this time you rly spelled it out
lastshadowmonkeys said:to stay with Jimin. Everyone's being manipulative as fuck and it can never end well in my opinion...This is so...Wow, and it all comes out of your brain and imagination, that's amazing! I'm so excited to see where this all will go and if Jungkook will just lose his shit (or any of them really, someone is bound to lose their shit) and to see where Jimin stands with oc now and wow so many questions! I'm intrigued! Amazing job, thank you so much for writing this piece of art!
lastshadowmonkeys said:after that, but woops boy was i wrong. He just turned full on psycho, and i have the impression Jimin is not even interested in her in that way and never has been. That leaves OC to be in a relationship with men who don't love her at all, in the end, which is so so sad and i just wish she'd get over her love (or is it obsession, really?) for Jimin, so she could get the hell out of that toxic situation. She's being manipulative herself, going through all that misery to somehow be able (3)
lastshadowmonkeys said:blowing my mind and i have immense respect for that. I'm not lying when i say i'm trying hard to improve my plot skills haha, since my mind tends to be too chaotic to ever get any structure in anything. I enjoy your stories so much. As for Equilibrium, shit's about to go down man and i just can't fucking wait to see what will happen. At first i was rooting for Jungkook and the oc since it seemed like he just had pent up frustrations from being misunderstood? I thought it would get better (2)
lastshadowmonkeys said:Hey Lu! Even though my asks get lost a lot of the time, it doesn't stop me from telling you how much i appreciate the fact you make time to write such wonderful, intriguing stories to make us actually think about important matters. Equilibrium has become one of my top favourite fics ever, and i just love how you can make every chapter like a little piece of a giant puzzle. You write so well, and they're actually plot goals! To imagine you're a grad student on top of all that is just (1)
got7boystobang said:I feel like (in fact; i knew it due to the fact that u hate nochu so much) the end of Equilibrium is going to be such a downfall for jk just like what happened in jjk must die and that crys drabble idk how tho but u just always have ways to kill jkook cause i bet you've millions of pictures in your head on how to😂😂😂 i love your dedication!!!!! lol
Anonymous said:Ugh, Jungkook is threatening people now? Yeah, it's time to call the cops. That's scary. I felt uneasy the whole chapter. I asked myself several times while reading, "Yo, what's wrong with this kid? And what's up with Jimin? Is he just CHOOSING not to acknowledge some of the fucked up shit that's going on around him?" And actually, homegirl is holding up a lot better in this chapter than I thought she would. Interesting. Thanks for another chapter! Looking forward to the next. :)
Anonymous said:Omg so intense!! Gosh I just don't know what to expect anymore, I'm glad there'll be alone time with Jimin but then what if Jungkook finds out, and what if-what if-gah! Can't wait to see what will unfold next, thank you once again for updating even though you're busy~

A Masterpost of All my Online Fics
I’ve been writing fanfiction for ages. Okay, well...maybe not as long as other people. Three to four years. I’ve had 3-4 accounts where my stuff has been posted, and I’ve only deleted one of them (to be fair, it was a deviantART and there was embarrassing/old art on there so...). I kind of just want this list for myself tbh. A masterpost of some old stuff. So, here goes. (also, not going to list doubles if I’ve posted them across 2-3 of the accounts)
people who know me irl: pls, don’t
As writing stands right now, I barely write anymore, and I do have ideas, but they’ll probably never come to much fruit, or be posted. All they’d be is practice. So...yeah. I don’t want to let it go, but writing is a rare hobby of mine now.
Fanfiction.net : ShadowLink5 - zelda, four swords, ssbb, doctor who
Kidnapped: Link from Twilight Princess, after the events of the game, gets kidnapped by a very special someone from Skyward Sword.
(attempted) Four Swords 100-Theme Challenge: Just what it says. Never did get far.
Choice: MAN this was a huge self-insert project that took two years and it was an awful writing that involved ShadowxOCxVio love triangle WOOH BOY
Quintuple Quarrels: A fic to accompany a piece of art, basically just Red/Green/Blue interactions along with Vio/Shadow. Back when I shipped Vidow and RedxBlue. Although I did change it so it wouldn’t be shippy at all.
Christmas Day: A cute fluffy Christmas fic for the Four Swords! Would actually recommend reading.
Just a Copy: Some weird Super Smash Bros Brawl fic I wrote don’t even
Her: A Rose/Eleven fic, from Doctor Who. I shipped that hard.
Wattpad : Geerard_BlackParade - band fics- Black Veil Brides, My Chemical Romance...some Four Swords rewrites...an original...Dan and Phil, basically
Help Me Heal: A readerxAndy Biersack (Black Veil Brides/Andy Black) fic where the reader and the band members get kidnapped. Blew up more than it should’ve tbh
Breaking Away from the Darkness: A rewrite of the Four Swords 100 Theme Challenge, taking two of the themes! Would actually recommend reading.
The Green Card: Something I wrote based off of @105ttt‘s headcanons! Would actually recommend reading.
Short Prompts: Some original prompts! They’re kinda crap but I mean they got some attention, so...
Sleepovers at Midnight: A readerxDan Howell/danisnotonfire fic I wrote for a friend.
The Basket: A fic I wrote based off of one of Phil/AmazingPhil’s oldschool YouTube videos.
Uni with Dan and Phil: Another self-insert for Dan and Phil, in college...never made it far.
Make Some Noise: Some Danger Days/My Chemical Romance fanfiction that I was pretty excited about. It was an OC in the desert surviving with the Killjoys. Never went far either.
a 30-day mcr challenge that doesn’t count: 30 Day Challenge I found on dA forever ago.
A Day with MCR: Some dumb MCR fic I wrote about the reader/self-insert meeting the MCR members.
Autistic Kobra Kid (headcanons): I wrote out a couple of someone’s autistic!kobra kid Danger Days headcanons (MCR). I would tag them but their blog isn’t really here anymore. @autistickobrkid maybe?
Time Flies: ANOTHER self-insert BVB fic.
I Like It That Way- A short basement!gerard (Gerard Way) imagine, whatever
Yes, I’ve Missed You - Old, kinda shippy (don’t ship anymore rip) Gerard/Frank, friendship-ish fic/imagine
Falling in Love Will Kill You - Pretty much the same as the last one except WAY more shippy and less friendship-ish. //shame
AO3/Archive of Our Own : existentialspook - newer stuff, rewrites
Quintuple Quarrels (rewrite) - Would actually kinda recommend reading.
~the rest have been published elsewhere~
If anyone is ACTUALLY interested in reading any of these, I’d go to my AO3 account, that has the newest/best stuff. I think they’re all Four-Swords related.
wow i had written a lot over like 3 years
TL;DR: I wrote a lot of stuff. Here are the ones I’d actually recommend, linked above in bold italics (all Four Swords):
- Christmas Day
- Breaking Away from the Darkness
- The Green Card
- Quintuple Quarrels rewrite

Yeah you’re right, there are many talented writers in the fandom but there are not many toto fics around ! Actually if you know a few others besides yours that you want to rec that would be nice, please 😊 can’t wait to read your new chapter 💗
Anon, you’ve opened a can of worms with this ask and it’s not your fault at all - I’ve had too much coffee and I’m putting off my actual work responsibilities.
(If you meant Toto in general and not Toto/reader or OC, then I apologize in advance! There are a ton of stories under his tag on AO3 and I’d recommend starting there! Ana @race-me has a fantastic George/Toto fic titled “red” that I highly recommend!)
I hesitate to call it an issue, because it’s not, but one thing that I’ve noticed in the F1 fandom is that there’s a general lack of self-insert/OC fic (that’s not to say those fics don’t exist - @thirstyandbeautiful is a blog filled with incredible self-insert stories!), but in general, most fics tend to lean towards existing ships, and fics that are published tend to be on AO3 or remain untagged on the author’s blog. I’m going to put more of my thoughts under the cut so as to not clog dashes with an essay, but I’d love to hear other’s thoughts too.
I have a few theories as to why writers in this fandom hold their cards close to their chests, but I think ultimately it’s a combination of exposure to both those inside and outside of the fandom (despite what we writers want to think, there is the possibility that someone F1-adjacent could read our fics and that’s why tagging them doesn’t seem to happen often, or they could inadvertently cross over to another social platform and be ridiculed there. I have a Harry Styles fic that I published a while ago that I had zero hesitation in posting because so many others in that fandom do it and actively share fic here and across platforms, so it felt normal and “safe” to do so. Publishing something that you’ve put your heart into can be a really vulnerable and scary experience, especially when it’s a fic that deviates from what’s typically written within the fandom.) and also of what’s the “standard” of fic - the standard here being fics based on established people/ships. That’s not to say that OC doesn’t exist, but in this fandom, it’s M/M that’s written the most because F1 is a male-dominated sport that has very little female representation - there are bound to be a lot of M/M ships as a result of the interactions between those in the paddock, and there’s nothing wrong with that at all!
I also think this fandom doesn’t place a huge expectation on sharing/reblogging stories - and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that either (see above: exposure). Often, stories are published to a blog without drivers/characters tagged and rely solely on the reader-base that they’ve established and are comfortable with, and that’s perfectly fine because that’s their chosen writing experience. I would love to be exposed to more to fic writers in this fandom (slash and not!), purely because it doesn’t often cross my dash and tbh I’m just not active on AO3 unless I’m posting. (This could be my fault for not following enough writers - I’d love to have some suggested!)
Idk none of this may make any sense but I’m glad I got my thoughts out there. I’m sorry to totally take over this question but I appreciate the opportunity to express them!
