Free tactical medicine learning resources
If you want to learn first aid, emergency care or tactical medical care for real, you will need to practice these skills. A lot. Regularly. There’s no way to learn them just from books. But if you’re looking to supplement your training, can’t access hands on training, are a layperson doing research for your writing or otherwise just curious, here are some free resources (some may need a free account to access them).
TCCC
The current gold standard in the field is Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), developed by the US army but used by militaries around the world. There is also a civilian version of the system called Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC). Training materials, Standards of Care, instructional videos, etc. can be accessed at deployedmedicine.com. You’ll need a free account. This should be your first and possibly only stop.
There’s also an app and a podcast if those are more your thing, although I haven’t personally tried them.
More TCCC (video) resources
STOP THE BLEED® Interactive Course
TCCC-MP Guidelines and Curriculum presentations and training videos
EURMED’s Medical Beginner's Resource List has suggested list of video materials (disclaimer: I haven’t watched the playlists, but I have been trained by nearly all of the linked systems/organisations and can vouch for them)

Merhaba seninle bundan 2-3 sene önce çok kötü olduğum bi dönemde karşılaşmıştım. Sana özendim. Elazığlı 2 ay önce biri çıktı geldi benden hoşlandığını ciddi düşündüğünü falan söyledi bende beğeniyordum zaten beyfendiyi onayladım ve bi ilişikiye başladım. Geçmişinde yaşadığı bazı durumlardan dolayı(zor süreçler yaşamış ilişki boyutunda değilde hayat gayesi anlamında) bazen ne olduğunu anlamadan durgunlaşıyordu. Anlam veremiyordum.

so i've made a perfectly normal little man
Tumblr media
This is Switch! It got caught in an explosion that destroyed its left arm, its leg below the knee, part of its ribs, and its spine. The GAR wrote it off as a lost cause and sold it to a Totally Ethical Cybernetics Company, who habitually buys mangled clones on the cheap to use them for test subjects. The GAR doesn't have to pay for medical expenses and TECC gets to experiment on people without having to worry about human rights legal violations! They also recondition all clones that come to their facility, so none of them remember who or what they are.
Switch was also blinded in the explosion, but now has fancy new implants that let it see normally. And abnormally. Thermal imaging, UV spectrum, night vision, spectral imaging, and 3D reconstruction. The left side of its head is shaved down to be able to easily access the external ports for these implants. Since both its eyes now have a prosthetic layer, everything it does is recorded.
The light blue parts of their cybernetics are the hydraulic fluid that keeps them working smoothly, a patented TECC compound. It's mildly corrosive to organic materials. On the back of its hand is a pod of fluid that can be ejected as a stream, which causes temporary blindness in the target.
After it filled its use as a test subject, it was stripped of its implants and given new ones. Part of TECC's money comes from hiring out its experiments as contract killers. What better use for an impeccably trained soldier that can be enhanced however you want?
It specialises in close-range killings, because its robot arm leaves no DNA or fingerprints. Many kills are simple strangulations but there's a double-edged twelve-inch blade sticking out of its wrist for a reason. The sword is just there for funsies :) Totally not a weird experimental plasma sword that kills people in extremely inhumane ways :) Nope :)
Even apart from all the legal drama and lack of rights that come with being a clone, Switch has never attempted to escape TECC. If they remotely shut off its implants, it wouldn't be able to see. Without the support of the spinal brace being active, Its vertebrae would start moving out of alignment, causing pain, weakness, and lung issues, and dramatically reducing its ease and range of movement. TECC can also remotely trigger a drain of its hydraulic fluid, causing pain, stiffness, and locking joints. Also, it has chronic pain from its injuries and the sockets of its new limbs, and TECC gives it pain meds.
The name Switch comes from its personality. It can be polite and funny and charming, and then it gets a kill order, and suddenly it's ruthless and laser-focused and scares people. A disussion about how it could flip like a switch became its nickname among the other experiments, and eventually it started using that name for itself, too.
From the beginning of its mercenary work for TECC, it saw other clones on the streets of Coruscant. It originally assumed that they were other murderbots created by TECC, until noticing that many of them were completely organic, no scars or cybernetics in sight.
Upon realising that most clones aren't TECC property, it investigates its past. It finds out that it had a squad, who were all killed in the same explosion that crippled it. It's glad for that, because that means that none of them are alive to see what it's become. It has no problem being an experiment or a killer, as that's all it knows, but it's aware that other people - both clones and natborns - have strong opinions on that sort of thing.

Jack Byrd's Vision for Solaren Risk Management: Building Trust Through Training
Solaren Risk Management’s CEO Jack Byrd’s emphasis on comprehensive training and professional development has built a more capable security force.
Tumblr media
When it comes to professional security services, proper training can mean the difference between life and death, a fact that Jack K. Byrd III is well aware of. As CEO of Solaren Risk Management, he has positioned the firm as a leader in professional security education. Drawing from his law enforcement background and understanding of modern security challenges, Byrd has developed a comprehensive training program that sets new standards for the industry.
Training is the cornerstone of Solaren's operations, as Taylor Pepper, the company’s Director of Communications, explains: "One of the most important aspects of any industry is the level of expertise required to be successful. In the security field, training courses aren't just mandatory by state law — they're essential for learning how to effectively secure people, places, and assets."
High-Caliber Training
Solaren’s training program is led by experienced professionals, including active law enforcement officers. "We have our training coordinator, Darrell Webb, he's phenomenal. He's active law enforcement and he knows his stuff for sure. He does a lot of the training through the law enforcement agency, the department that he works in," Pepper notes. This connection to active law enforcement ensures training remains current and practical.
The company’s game plan reaches beyond basic security certification. "We have regular report writing classes, because not everybody knows how to write a report. Not everybody knows what categories on their report mean," Pepper explains. This attention to detail extends to specialized courses like
the Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) course, which Pepper describes as "a three-day course talking about how to use tourniquets, how to do CPR, all that kind of stuff."
This commitment to training has proved its value in real-world situations. Pepper shares a striking example: "One of our guards, a guy ran up to him while he was working at one of the bars; he was on the street doing ID checks. A guy ran up to him, he had been stabbed in the arm. And this officer that we had applied a tourniquet, not everybody knows how to apply a tourniquet. So, the fact that he had that know-how, and he was trained in that capacity, and he actually used that knowledge in the field to help save a life."
Jack Byrd: Recognizing Employee Achievements
Jack Byrd has implemented a comprehensive recognition system for training achievements. "At the end of the year, we have a Christmas party. If somebody based on those performance evaluations throughout the year has just done an exceptional job, they'll get an award, which usually correlates with some kind of pay boost," Pepper shares. This encourages continuous professional development among staff.
Technology training also plays a crucial role in Solaren's program. "Usually what we do, we spend months in advance preparing for an event," Pepper explains. "We make sure that everybody knows where they're going to be, knows what equipment they're going to be issued." This includes training on radio protocols, surveillance systems, and other advanced security technologies.
The impact of this training philosophy extends beyond individual security officers. "We definitely try to give them the resources that they need to be able to solve their own issues," Pepper notes.
For Jack Byrd and Solaren, training represents more than just meeting regulatory requirements — it's about building a professional security force
capable of handling modern challenges. As Pepper emphasizes, "We want to make sure that they can do things mainly themselves and solve their own problems because we want to give them that capability rather than a teach-a-man-to-fish kind of situation."
As security challenges evolve, Byrd's commitment to comprehensive training positions Solaren to meet future industry demands. The firm’s success in developing skilled security professionals demonstrates how investing in training can transform both individual careers and the entire security industry.
In an industry that faces increasing scrutiny and ever-evolving challenges, Jack Byrd's emphasis on comprehensive training and professional development has not only built a more capable security force but has also created a model for how security companies can better serve their communities while encouraging the growth of their personnel.

TecC in 2024: Despite being in a busy schedule, I managed to dive into 14 amazing games, unlocking 28 achievements and earning 595 Gamerscore across 67 hours of playtime. 🎮✨
From strategizing in Age of Empires Definitive Edition (my #1 game this year) to surviving the post-apocalyptic world in Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition, every moment was unforgettable. 💥 Whether I was building empires, exploring galaxies in The Callisto Protocol, or racing through Forza Motorsport, each game kept the adrenaline pumping and the passion alive.
Gaming isn’t just a hobby; it’s an adventure where every session brings a new challenge, a new world to explore, and new milestones to conquer. Big shoutout to Xbox for making every replay worthwhile, and to the gaming community for inspiring even bigger achievements for 2025—though I’m unsure how my schedule will look by then. Let’s conquer the next year together—more games, more milestones, and a whole lot of fun ahead! 🚀🔥
Thank you all for being part of this journey, and here’s to making 2025 even better! What were your favorite Xbox games this year? Let’s compare and share the grind. 💪✨
