okay enough of that. it's time to move onto something more serious: costuming design! isabel has a new outfit this page.

"BEEBALL", with a little bee up at the corner. That's cute. time to wrack my brain for any and every instance where a bee has shown up or appeared in paranatural. Just kidding! I don't need to wrack my brain; i have the entire comic memorized. bees don't show up anywhere. The only time zack has drawn a bee for paranatural was this in piece of promo art with isabel in a cool leather jacket

#paranatural#idk why beeball as a pun though. it doesnt like. play on anything. it doesnt really work as a sport portmanteau. teeball maybe? but that#also evokes hitball. why.

Speaking of Raffles, if anyone* would like to be cursed with a basic understanding of cricket, may I recommend this blog post: Cricket for Americans - a primer
*You will need a basic understanding of baseball, but when I say basic, I mean “played kickball as a child”, “able to identify which one is the pitcher and which one is the first baseman”, “can tell when a home run just happened”. My own baseball knowledge is so sketchy I was trying to remember how many innings there are in a game and could only get to “pretty sure it’s either seven or nine”, and yet I read the linked post and now I can more or less follow what’s going on in fictional cricket scenes. You may or may not want this - not gonna lie, it’s removed some of the mystique - but the option is open.
#letters from bunny#i’ll also tag#letters regarding jeeves#it’s less relevant to the Jeeves books but in case you move on to other Wodehouse#tumblr would go wild for the Psmith books and they’re chock full of cricket#American or not if you’ve never played a baseball/kickball/softball/teeball-type game this probably won’t help much#but if you have then here it is#and you too can suddenly follow the action in that one chapter of Murder Must Advertise

Remember when it was cool to do cringey video game character style self portraits? I’m bringing it back! Maybe I’ll redo it as pixel art and add stats or something someday.
#my art#my stuff#self portrait#gessorosso#I don’t actually play teeball but I do own a hello kitty bat

When bonesaw wanted to ride the rollercoaster but she was 2 short and she unscrewed her legs a little to be tall enough but then the ride attendant squinted and tutted to himself and got a big mallet and SMASHed it on her head making her short again with a big cymbal noise but then her bruise was so big it made her tall enpugh so he gave her an icepack so she came back with another head stapled on top of her normal head but then he just used a baseball bat on it like teeball style so she came back with creatures on her feet like big shoes but he pointed to a sign that said No Pets its still going on

Is "woman pretending to be a guy to attend exclusionary elite institution" enough by itself to draw your interest?
Probably not.
There are so few plot points and cliches that can overcome the question: "Is it GOOD?"
Off the top of my head:
Haunted house, that is haunted by ghosts-- I will read/watch such dumb bullshit that is about boo boo spooky ghosties.
Lesbian class romance--I'm an easy mark. This isn't QUITE as easy, but it's halfway to teeball as far as the pitch. The class aspects have to be a major part of the story, and it has to be two women.
Westerns that hit my specific trash, but I don't trust anyone but me to find them--I don't even count my Louis L'Amour books in my books read. Am i reading them, or just eating them like a potato chip?
That's it! Other than that, the overarching question always has to be, 'Is it good?" which is a different question from, "Did I LIKE it?" Mike and I have been talking about his sci-fi lit class--I fucking hated Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, but I would be an absolute idiot to say it isn't good.
I CAN love the idea, and there's a lot of historical precedent for having to do so, since the things you could do as a woman in many times were: Marry, Church, Suffer. Education and freedom were for dudes! But it's not a shoo in. It has to be good!
I am once again asking who is doing it like Sarah Waters cri cri

What number would Everett have on his Jersey? Is it significant to him? Did he use Bradley’s number from when he was on the navy waves? Did he keep the same number all through growing up/since teeball?
Hey, nonny! Bradley wore #22 in college, and I think Everett wore #22 for a while before he really settled in as a pitcher. But I wrote that by the time Ev gets to the MLB, he wears #1. Part of the reason I did that was because #1 is a retired number for the Phillies (Richie Ashburn). So really, we are keeping this fully fictional lol.

Day 136: Saturday May 17, 2025 - "Together at Baseball"
Its a fun joke with the other Tee Ball dads when i see them on if we had a better week than Javy Baez, and of course, again this week, none of us were even close. I was glad to have TeeBall today, and a chance to be around some other adults and acknowledge that some times the only thing fair in life is a squarley hit ball between 1st base and 3rd base.
After the game, William got a medal, two snacks, and a run to Frost for Gelato with his friends. He turned out ok, indeed and we can be so grateful for that - our firsrt baby.
Song: Cage The Elephant - Whole Wide World

Weekly tag Wednesdays- firsts!
I haven't done one of these in so long. Thanks Nosho @creepkinginc for the tag!
Name: Dyno 🦖
Age: 29 (but not for much longer 😩)
First pet? A brown and white hooded rat named Sugar. She was such a sweetheart.
First word? "Juice!" Which makes sense, as fruit is my favorite food group.
First celebrity crush? David Tennant as the tenth Doctor 😍
First IRL crush? The kid who sat next to me in band in the 7th grade. (I ended up dating their twin in high school 🤣)
First kiss? It was also in 7th grade. It was terribly awkward.
First car? Petunia 😍 She was a 1998 Jeep Cherokee in gunmetal blue. Both of my younger brothers drove her before I bought her from my parents. She was a death trap with no passenger airbag and no horn and headlights that probably weren't good even in '98 and I loved her very much. I have lots of good memories with her.
First time on a plane? I was 7 and we flew from California to Florida.
First apartment/house/dorm/whatever away from your parents? It was a one bed, one bath shit hole that I shared with a friend from high school. We used a curtain to cut the dining room off and that was what I used as my bedroom. There was a cutaway that looked into the kitchen and it provided more than one awkward moment.
First cellphone? I saved up my money and bought a Razr when they first came out. It cost me a whole $50.
First concert? It was a local metal band in a bar that I *technically* wasn't old enough to be in.
First sport you ever played? Teeball. I graduated to baseball eventually, but stopped playing in high school when music became my main focus.
First career aspiration? I wanted to be a Pediatric Endocrinologist lol. (A very young auto-immune diagnosis meant that I was in and out of endocrine offices for a lot of my childhood)
and finally… tell me about the first time you wrote/drew/created/whatever something that made you think "wow". Oof. When I was about 14, my mom stumbled on some of my original fiction. She thought I'd been practicing my typing skills and asked what book I was copying. 😅 that was when I really realized this whole writing thing had potential. Unfortunately, all of my work up to age 16 was saved to floppy disc's and then lost in a house fire. I wish I was kidding, I really do. I've since rebuilt and improved upon the world I'd built, and still to this day when I delve into it, I'm really proud.
I'm not gonna tag anyone specific. If you got this far, this is me, tagging you. Also, take some cake before you go. 🍰🍰🍰

Hi!! Do you know any fics that talk about Dean and/or Cas being autistic?
There are definitely a few out there, but on the whole canon universe fics may have it tagged, but (to my eyes at least - like I'm seeing a lot of fic in the tag that I have indexed) it doesn't seem to be part of the storyline all that much or at times even recognisable. So here are links to fics that tag it. Autistic Castiel and Autistic Dean
I don't want to populate this entirely with AU fics or fic where its tagged but very much is in the background but I do have this one.
in the stands - cas_coding
AU. A parent at Jack’s teeball game doesn’t understand the family dynamics and is quite judgemental about Cas’ behaviour that is actually none of her business.
Word Count: 4k No Sex
This has actually taken me so long because I remember reading a fic years and years ago where they were all living in a house together (I think post the mental break of S7) and Cas was diagnosed and I was sure it was on my kindle but I haven't been able to find it. If I do track it down I will update this.
